supereagle: We need rail system. In the absence of effective rail system these thugs on wheels must be reined. its important. |
Someone needs to get seriously tough on lorry owners and/or drivers. Huge machines should not be left in the hands of miscreants, and irresponsible drivers. |
van bonattel: Blaming ojukwu for the war is childish , and its upside down reasoning like this that will continue to hold us back in this cesspit called naijiriya. Until people own up and apologize for blood letting, the gods of justice will continue to turn its face from our unholy union. Let's dream on. A thousand years from now and maybe we shall still be blind to reason because some will love to support the mistakes of their grand fathers.Nope!it maybe a shared fault but the major part should go to him.the singular problem of the union is greed and nothing will change(not even the apology) if we don't work on it. We can mark the death of millions of innocent people,it wont harm/cost anyone but 'we are right, they are wrong' approach wont work. |
nku5: I tell you what with benefit of hindsight we know things could have been done a bit differently. That does not take away the reality of things that happened in the prosecution of the war. Whether we realise it or not, war has rules. If two men are fighting it doesn't give the other the right to look for the other ones chiildren to murder. Okay the war had ended, what about the post-war policies, banning of commodities that would have helped igbo people get back on their feet. As for revisionism you haven't pointed out ONE lie in the article of which only an excerpt was posted. Anybody with the full article should please post so we can read it in fullI am not justifying actions taken during the war PER SE but we need to realise war is war, there's no other way to define it. i grew up hearing the name Achebe but i have been disappointed- Anytime achebe talks or writes about the ills of Nigeria it comes with perceivable sectional slant.THE REAL ISSUE HERE FOR ME IS NOT THE WAR BUT THE PROFESSOR HIMSELF. HE'S TOO EDUCATED TO BE THIS BITTER.HE SHOULD CHANNEL THE BITTERNESS AND HIS STAR POWER INTO SOMETHING MORE CONCRETE FOR EASTERN NIGERIA. |
I find it difficult at times to understand why people blatantly refuse to take responsibility for their own actions. Ojukwu(rip) declared war and should be held responsible for all that happened. I hope am not blind, one striking thing here is;the professor didn't even mention Ojukwu's name, not even once in this article.Achebe need to let-go his constant penchant for sectional revisionism. Kilode! |
He has a right to campaign for his party,by the way, as more people continue to emphasise Ondo state finances and the resources available,Mimikos failure becomes glaring. I can't vouch for Akeredolu o but Mimiko Is a failure. Akere should use Fashola more for his campaigns, nobody could make Mimko's incompetence more obvious |
The issue here is confidence,No matter the policies and adverts placed about electronic transaction,if people are not confident about the process they won't use it. 1 Am I gonna get what was advertised 2Am gonna get it delivered on time as agreed. 3 Can I change my mind and get my money back. Money back guarantee isn't just a slogan, you need to have a concrete, believable money back arrangement 4 time frame to sort out any of the above issues if they arise especially 1 and 3 If you can develop a framework which answer all these questions then you r well on your way. Ebay, detailed specification, feed back system and the paypal are the biggest reason I shop on ebay with ease. I only buy stuffs directly from Amazon(mostly books) cos I am not really comfortable with the structure of their trading platform. |
hollybee: Teslim Ibrahim Adebola, UNAD 400L student#Yours should probably satisfy the 'LEXICAL' bullies. Now, we can take a break from the grammar convention and get back to the main topic. |
That title will only create more political problems for him. Walai! |
Billyonaire: They are fans, am not a fan. It is my destiny to own one. Whether from your tithes, national treasury, personal enterprise or from the Cosmic Energy, it simply bothers me not.Thats prolly the only way ![]() |
Billyonaire: For me, I guess Fish Farming and Church Business will be a perfect way to retire. But I prefer fish farming than being a fisher of men, except for my love for Private jets ![]() |
Every attempt at explaining away the last picture have fallen flat, let it slide! it's just ordinary people expressing themselves. Normally, there shouldn't be any need for all the tepid spinning but those who have been making illogical assertions are now being confronted with reality they failed/refused to embrace. ![]() That's the face of the new coalition ![]() One nijaria! |
Sagamite: Stop holding your breath!Seriously! Ojomiloju ![]() |
werepeLeri: I wonder what d funny part is.Reconciling the book title and writers reformist posture with current reality. ![]() |
Lol! ![]() |
^ If the financial authority cannot regulate these online transaction processing platforms,I think the banks should start endorsing them to serve as reasonable assurance mark for online traders. These little stuffs are the real cash less economy and not the pegging of cash withdrawals |
Akanbi_edu: I hope you are not taking the hateful rhetorics seriously? At all but you can't really ignore them, the net reflects a lot about real life possibilities ![]() |
What an ego bursting picture. It Questions a lot of hateful rhetoric we often see here hence the need to put a spin on it. Ordinarily it shouldn't matter but on NL it does a great deal- too much online chest-beating conventions. @real topic, Òjò ńkù onígbúre ńpalẹ̀mọ́, kíni kí elélùbọ́ ṣe #proverb |
We can ignore the betrayals part of the questions and focus on the money, its a serious one ojae |
These are serious questions the man must answer,Ondo is flipping rich man. Mimiko don betray gan ni o, Ogun re la yeye! ![]() |
The fight here isn't really about this thread but a spill over from the 'nada' thread. https://www.nairaland.com/1050126/2015-jonathan-pdp-fail-s-west |
Am trying to see the distinction between the state and the state government. The government sets direction for the whole state, Ekiti state,Ekiti people got an award, final!!! |
If people who normally give you a pass start asking serious questions then you need to sit up! The message can only get louder. Enough of the rhetoric,Mr. Tinubu. Gbawe has been really effective in beating back anti-yoruba sentiments, sometimes carefully carved as 'hate' for the ACN If he's paid to be here I would say he's been effective-most times backing up is assertions with facts and pictures, something the lappies hardly do but ACN has been most inspiring on paper. PDP is irredeemable and I don't want them near anywhere my neck of the woods,so those who have been given mandate to transform must do it,no to continuous sappy rhetoric, triumphalism or half measures. |
Slimboy94: Fashola ke? I can't vote 4 him even as a yoruba boy i want okorocha to be our next presido....GBAMOkorocha ko Ofemanucha ni ![]() |
We don't need to bother much about Ogun really because it will end up a satellite town to Lagos(lol) but Ibadan? Come on! That's another Lagos in our hands, man! the potentials are enormous. Consolidating ke? Pa pa pa o lol Jonathan is becoming desperate ( like Obj was in 03) for another term and you cannot underestimate the federal power at his disposal. |
Desola: Lagos might work but I do not think we would have another governor with Fashola's zeal and charisma which I think are the wings of the ACN currently.Yeah he appears clueless to me too,I must say. Its either they get to work or Lagos will annex Ogun state, its already happening anyway. Maybe Ibadan needs those guys who re- engineered Lagos economy - the guys who estimated the value of informal lagos economy and master minded its current, gradual integration to the mainstream. Fashola is set a standard and that's why you see articulate and well behaved guys in Ekiti,Oyo and even Ogun.Look at Akeredolu too, you hardly see people with personal accomplishments getting that close to power in Nigeria. |
fstranger: PDP will succeed in the SW. ![]() |
Desola: Yes, you have a point. I think the ACN is resting on its laurels thinking it has the SW(I hate using that term) in the bag but reality would dawn on them when the voters switch to another party. However badly the ACN must have performed, I still do not see the voters going to PDP though. The return of pdp is a taboo in the west and I think that is what the ACN is banking on but they would get a shocker if they keep on with this mediocre performance. Once Fashola finishes his tenure, ACN's backside would be blown open so it is in the best interest of the other governors to start performing now if ever they wish to return. Yorubas are not gullible.I think they would always make Lagos work cos Fashola has prolly unknowingly set a standard for the party in Lagos. I have feeling they will maintain the standard. The guys in Oyo and Ogun are presiding over states that could compete with Lagos but they are no where to be found. Ekiti and Osun do know what/where their strengths lie and have been vocal about how they intend to leverage on them. I would say;Fayemi's agreement with Samsung sits very well with me and I see it (if it works) as a way of shifting Ekiti from Academic scholarship to 'real' knowledge. Aregbe is been quiet lately but some of the plans he put out there aren't bad at all but people need to see. |
We do not have any friends what we have are people who want to do business with us and if we are ready for business,we will be fine. All these 'be afraid of China crusade' is led by those who are losing out to the model they once derided. America never had my interest so I don't expect China to,my interest is my business and hopefully the middle aged/old ruling hedonists on our continent will wake up. |
Desola: well said but PDP would most definitely not be an option for Yorubas. I am certain that in the failure of ACN, we would seek solace in any other progressive party but pdp.Failure isn't an option, seriously, after 8years of pdp tragedy. They will not have any excuses-the party is solid-everyone is in line, a lot of ground support, the opposition in disarray. |
Well its a real possibility if these ACN guys keep up with their seeming sense of entitlement to power .They need to take the people more seriously and stop comparing their mostly half hearted measures to pdp disaster of yore, people may not put up any resistance to pdp onslaught In 2015(what's the point), if they don't move beyond rhetoric to real susbtantive work. Appealing to regional nationalism may not work again if you don't prove yourself-those who did in the past proved themselves. |
