Now this the real dbanj for those who love real music not the typical, very noisy pangolo music that's became the norm.I believe this one is transitional,he would finally join the likes of Asa. |
I love it when i see hard work rewarded ![]() What a reception. |
10 over 10: This amb thing is shit and sucks..setup a foundation or scholarship scheme for grassroot and less- priviledge people..stop wasting money on comfortable ppleIts purely marketing and advertising bro, there are loads of young people in Nigeria with huge urban style drift and how do you latch on this demographic other than by paying and propping up people who are the symbols of urban-style in Nigeria. Same way Nigerian breweries made beer drinking cool through star mega jam and gulder ultimate search. The future of most companies in Nigeria lies in their ability to make the youth population buy into whatever they sell even if its not good for them. |

If OBj had substantially advanced work or completed Olokola FTZ it would have seriously changed my perception about him because that project would have created another mini lagos between Ondo and Ogun. |
Mimiko should fight to save what's righfully Ondos? This is one of the reasons why i think Acn in Ondo will be a good thing, having a party with a pro-Sw outlook may ensure that what rightfully belongs to Ondo state or other oil producing communities in the Sw are not chucked out.I believe the Ilajes need to become more vocal in this period of oil nationalism. Olokola would create another mini_lagos between Ondo and Ogun state.this is a project that we shouldnt allow anyone to joke with, seriously, this is the only thing SW can point to that they gained from Obj and its not undue. ![]() |
I choose not to believe the rumour renting the air that the OKLNG project has been tagged for abandonment.Barely 5 months to the April 2011 polls, precisely on November 12, 2010 President Goodluck Jonathan during a visit to the OKLNG project site in Olokola said,"if Nigeria is to realize her ambition of being one of the biggest economies by 2020, the OKLNG Project MUST BE a part of the dream." This assertion was greeted with thunderous applauds as many oil and gas professionals shared the view. The rumour is increasingly getting louder that Brass LNG would be substituted with Olokola OKLNG,the primary reason is that ex-militant leaders like Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo who declared under the aegis of the Joint Revolutionary Council comprising of Niger Delta People Volunteer Force ( NDPVF ), Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta ( MEND ) and the Martyr Brigade that ,"if the LNG will be built in Olokola, then let them get their gas from Olokola and its environment.Any pipeline from any of our communities would be destroyed, site workers found aiding and abetting will be taken hostage or taken out.Every shipment with facilities for Olokola project will be destroyed." Alhaji Dokubo needs to be reminded that the Ilaje nation is the primary reason why Ondo is classified as an Oil-producing State, hence it absolutely deserves oil and gas facilities in its territory. It must also be said that over 90% of the oil and gas production in Ondo State is used as feedstock in Chevron oil and gas facilities in another neighbouring Delta State.Ilaje deserves to be host players not just to be taken as on-looker in the league of Niger Delta States. Several Niger Delta States shelter one oil and gas facility or the other, for example Warri in Delta State is the location of the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company Limited,WRPC,Chevron-operated Escravos Gas-to-Liquid EGTL,Total Oil Plc Blending \Plant in Koko ,and not forgetting the recently proposed Petrochemical Plant also in Koko, etc. Rivers State is the location of two NNPC- operated refineries ,Nigeria LNG at Bonny Island,Finima. The on-going gas gathering facilities at Obiafu North of Port Harcourt, Notore Chemical Industries Ltd, the proposed relocation of Nigeria LNG Headquarters to Port Harcourt, etc. At Akwa Ibom the Federal Government has joined hands with Governor Akpabio to build a deep seaport. The Governor has also proposed the Ibom Industrial City and claimed it would be an industrial mix of oil and gas support facilities, dockyard and watercraft repair facilities, fertilizer plant, oil refineries,Gas-to-Liquid projects, petrochemical companies, etc. Other Niger Delta States are known to also have various oil and gas facilities in their respective territories. In the United States,Gulf States like Texas ,Louisiana,Oklahoma,California,Florida etc. all have a fair share of oil and gas facilities in their respective territories. As a matter of fact, the first and foremost developmental program of the Colonial Government in Nigeria was Land Reclamation in the Niger Delta when the popular John Beecroft was at the helm of affairs.Rather than leave it as it was the colonial government planned for its reclamation because of the imperial benefits to be derived. In order to pave way for its development, the then Niger Delta Development Board NNDB ,was set up in the independence era to meet the peculiar needs of the Niger Delta people of which Ilaje is a bonafide member. Without mincing words ,the Ilaje nation is the least developed in the oil-rich Niger Delta despite its vast contribution to the gross earnings of our dear country Nigeria.Due to the scarcity of land some Ilajes live permanently on water while most of them go to the markets to buy and sell in their canoes. No spacious schools to host Inter House sports events, fishing which is their major source of livelihood is no longer profitable since environmental conditions have continuously taking its toll.Despite facing the challenges of land scarcity erosion remains a constant threat ; washing away our lands year after year. In order to foster co-operation with the Federal Government on the OKLNG Project, colossal amount of oil derivation funds through the interventionist agency OSOPADEC is being commited since the ground breaking ceremony in 2007.The erstwhile Governor of Ondo State Dr. Olusegun Agagu awarded road contracts worth over N50 Billion naira.some of such roads are Igbokoda-Ayetoro ,Makun-Atijere and the 41-kilometre Aboto-Olokola roads. Also the incumbent Governor Dr. Olusegun Mimiko has also invested huge chunks of funds of the OSOPADEC commission for continuous construction. Understandably the road networks according to the State Government and other to-be LNG operators will help to boom the LNG business activities and would ultimately put appreciable pressure on the unemployment scare in Ilaje and Nigeria as a whole. It would only amount to gross injustice if the rumour of the OKLNG abandonment is confirmed to be true. The singular act is capable of jeopardizing the fresh air of peace in the oil-rich Niger Delta. If both Nigeria LNG (Bonny) and Brass LNG,only some kilometres apart are both located on Ijaw-speaking territories why then should some quarters be tagging an LNG project partly owned by Ondo State for abandonment.Interestingly, setting up OKLNG would be far cheaper than that of Brass LNG according to commercial gas experts but am not an advocate of elimination by substitution. The LNG business is a very peculiar one unlike oil,it is highly recommended that LNG producing countries must have stable political atmosphere before production can commence and so it did not take until the democratic government restoration in 1999 before Nigeria started the construction of its first LNG facilities in Bonny,Rivers State.Arguably the biggest players in the Nigeria oil and gas industry are Shell and Chevron (coincidentally joint operators of OKLNG ), should the project be abandoned, it will be sending negative signals to the world especially at this period when Nigeria seriously craves for foreign investors. Contrary to the believe that oil is forever, people must remember that petroleum is a non-renewable form of energy and would get depleted someday. In the event of such unavoidable misadventure what becomes of the Ilaje nation? What becomes of the ex-militants? Am of the opinion that President Goodluck Jonathan would not go back on his words that OKLNG must be part of the dream if Nigeria is to realize her ambition of becoming of the 20 biggest economies by 2020. KatsumotoOBJ loves been seen as a nationalist probably because his relevance comes from the center and we proved that again when he contested and the whole west queued behind Olu Falea he needed to make friends from somewhere else as usual,to be fair to baba he had Bode Augusto from Lagos(only Oby is comparable to him) at the budget office and i think he was one of the finest people he had.He was almost made finance minister by Yara dua but the sappy-head senators said he was too arrogant(too classy for those thugs). Lastly, to protect his legacy as president, he ensured that the slow and dying Yaradua as well as the cowardly and incompetent GEJ would take over from him when there were more capable hands such as Donald Duke (who I wasn't too impressed with but who nevertheless would have proven more capable than those selected by OBJ. It is no wonder that despite squandering the economic ascension that Nigeria started to reap from democracy, OBJ is still regarded as the best president Nigeria has had. What a shame when you consider that OBJ stole in excess of $16B meant for the power sector, an act that has ensured that Nigeria cannot keep up with developmental progress of other hitherto 3rd world nations.Valid proof that he's self-serving and insecure |
They recently inked an alliance with another American institute and i see this as CIMA's recognition of the fact that there's need to broaden the whole thing and not necessarily the need to go global.the alliance is very strategic i must admit,it opens the American market for Cima and gives cima trainees double competence, another thing is they did not go embarrassing themselves, virtual begging the Yankees like IASB has been doing(annoying ).I would say go for cima if they offer audit, tax and financial reporting and with the new alliance you end with skills in American Gaap if the Americans continue flip flopping on IFRS. These qualifications only give you the recognition and attention they do not guarantee much. Our real worth comes from awareness, experience and people. So whether CIMA,ACCA,ICAN,the edge comes from exp, awareness, people. |

M.A Sometimes I ask me self whether management accounting is that huge for it to have a dedicated professional training. I maybe naïve or ignorant hence the above assertion but one of my teachers occasionally suggest that M.A is a dying standalone sub-part of accounting because most of the ideas they fill the syllabus with are very much irrelevant to current business process. Secondly, you end up doing a lot of mainstream accounting subjects like financial reporting so what's the use of boxing yourself to a corner when you can pick up skills in taxation, financial reporting, audit and assurance and even proper finance ,when you go for ican or acca. These are my perceptions about management accounting and not necessarily CIMA,do more research on them for proper conclusion. |
Okorocha, who spoke against the backdrop of continued cases of kidnapping and armed robbery in the state, warned unrepentant kidnappers, “henceforth it will be fire for fire. Okorocha lamented that his appeals to kidnappers and armed robbers to repent from their criminal activities and engage in meaningful activities fell on deaf ears. ![]() It becomes more laughable whenever this man is compared to Fashola, this man is a comedian,a natural one. |

This is an unacceptable disrespect for the office and it's the fault of this occupant. That picture is definitely a cheap shot. There are other ways of making political statement other than outrightly taking advantage of courtesy gesture, that should be left to political strategist and activists. He won't try this with Baba for sure I hope this is just a spin by the politicians sha |
ishmael: Robust data analysis is beyond using excel, bros. Not belittling the profession, really. |
Kockane: Bro, I feel you. I served in ekiti for a whole year, in that one year I was constantly being victimized at work, experienced a terrible robbery by cultists, lost all I had worked for, got hacked in the arm, required 9stitches, no compensation, nothing. The scar is there, keeps reminding me of my ill-fated sojourn into the land of the ekitis. Not even a visit from my Z.I while I was in the hospital. I gathered the pieces of my life together, still undertook a community development project, designed a college website for a sec sch and trained the students in desktop publishing, no sponsors, nufn. I funded it all by myself. In the end all I got was a bloody certificate of commendation, still expecting the prize money (30k) promised us (myself and 10 others that did oda projects) several months after passing out. That wasn't a good experience and its unacceptable, maybe you justified your anger but you must admit, its not like all your mates had same stories of pain and discomfort(not discounting what you experienced). Sorry.Òkun! |
Kockane: Ekiti for nyscYou appear very bitter cos yours isn't an open minded assessment. Whatever happened to you there,we thank God you came out of the place alive cos going by your comment it seems your existence was basically threatened. You prolly went there with the arrogance and mind that this is a village but you were matched and surprised . There are no great architectural designs there but what makes a good community abound and that's where your resentment comes from If you are not hard-knocked from where you are coming from, you are likely to enjoy Ekiti but if your expecting or need handouts well! We know a lot of work is needed to make the state modern but I won't trade common and communal sense, pride, peace for modernity though I know they aren't mutually exclusive. No need for those bitter words, Njàré àwé |
If you look at my initial comment you would see words like tweaking, tailoring and fitting then relevance. Its your job to make your experience relevant. Obviously we normally put the most relevant experience first but if you have a scanty cv for a particular role then you make some of your general experience count. I was a bit simplistic in describing H.R routine above but H.R is people management so is teaching. |
Anyone could be a data analyst except you looking for certification. I feel you don't need to go through the conventional schooling process to become a data analyst, just 1or 2 months workshop or training, books on data analysis and good excel/spreedsheet skill can can equip you with the right skills to do data You are better of with ican cos obviously you can't become chartered in 2 or 3months and all chartered accountants are expected to know how to analyse data,be it financial or non-financial. |
Ratchet and clank series all the way from ps2 to 3 not a single release I missed GOW |
He's got ideas though some of them bizarre but his recent talk and write ups about Nigeria are spot on. The only issue is sitting abroad and theorising, makes him look un-serious |
All work experience matter regardless of your qualification even if you are in the highly technical field. It only need a bit of tweaking here and there, you just need to make it relevant through tailoring and fitting. Yours is even easier,H.R is all about people management isn't it? if you have been able to manage kids!! and you can prove how you brought the best out of them then working with adults should be a cake walk. Pupils/workers resume late or absent, you find out. What's the difference? Isn't this routine H.R You hardly see irrelevant experience if you look deeply. |
@OP Its been obvious man. This trend started during Yara dua's time and when these guys came in they ramped up the pressure,we may see this government as generally incompetent but we must all admit that they have a huge, well funded internet operation.its not here only its everywhere and only the operators of the websites can stop them.Though they are outnumbered but have mastered the act of creating diversions. Anyways anyone criticizing this administration probably wasting his or her time cos awon baba wa president "dont give a damn" and he means it. ![]() |
Baba now have a special purpose entity to re-invest his booty back into Nigeria and Africa.Patriotism or pragmatism?only baba knows ![]() Anyways i wont want me money ending up in spain, greece, portugal or in the Eu sef at this moment. Baba's from-abroad private equity firm is probably a damning verdict on Nigeria's so called bankers and financial whatever- incompetent and insanely risk- averse. |
