Jaqenhghar: Well said brother. Yes Ive been to Niger a few times and thats the beauty of the place... you get treated like a human being. Here you have to have money before people show you any respect. Messenger wants to be a millionaire and os not ready to work for it, and No, its not just a southern thing its all over the country It's very bad Why must respect be tied to how much you are worth? Shame By the way tho, are you an African back packer like me? |

Jaqenhghar: My brother its not poverty. I tell people. I go to Niger republic which is a poorer country than Nigeria. The hunger is worse.. there was a year Nigeria donated food to them but they dont behave like Nigerians. Last time I was there was for a wedding see the orderly way they went about collecting food and also helping each other along the way. You dont see such in a Nigerian wedding You too have been to Niger? In my experience there, I got to see what the problem with Nigeria is, especially those of us from the South. We lack contentment as a people, and are too materialistic and greedy. In Niamey, Ouaga and even Abomey Calavi that I have spent considerable time in, we are far better of than most of the population, but they are contented. I saw real happiness, I saw happy children wearing worn out clothes playing with happiness, especially in Abomey, but they help each other, content, and happy But in my country, we want to have all, a child in Lagos will feel wretched if his father does not buy him the latest gadgets, and a young man will be feeling inadequate because he has not yet bought a car worth millions like some of his mates have and the list is endless. So what do you expect in such a society? Stealing, Extortion, Begging, desperation and get rich quick or die trying mentality That's what we suffer, and the mess at MMIA shows all that |

@Pidgin2 what do you have to say about this shame?
My experience as a first time travelled through MMIA years back was shameful
When will our country men stop this shame of begging and exhorting?

Totalman1: I really don't see the essence of the sensationalism around d Anambra elections holding or not; because that is not d 'end' but rather one of d 'means' to an end - d 'end' being a disbandment of every Colonial contaption and set-up.
Until this is done, we can never truly be independent.
#Africa-without-borders Can that Africa without borders really work? With the clannish nature of an average foolish African (believing his tribe is the most superior and all that?) The EU project could have worked in Africa , but nepotism, tribalism, and all that nonsense will not allow us rubbish |

allrightsir: How much are they able to save?
Anytime I go to Dubai I always see educated Nigerians working at the hotels I stay in. Whenever I ask them how things are I always get the impression they are in bondage and will never rise above their menial jobs. In the short term they may be be living a better life than their contemporaries in Nigeria but in the long term they always fall behind and become enslaved in the system. The most important thing is that they are living an okay life If they can plan well and live within their means, they will be fine Nigeria that so called middle class professionals are laid off everyday. |
