I don't have an idea of the days of travel but I guess the bus leaves everyday but I know it usually leaves around evening. You can book your ticket ahead of time and wait for departure time. To make it easier for you call this okada man and make further inquiries from him, he stays around the Tokpa park and can easily take you there for 200 CFA or less +22996710835 Nasir Okada Tokpa.

As for the documents, you are good to go.

Please don't forget to update the house of your findings and discoveries(even from the okada man). Every little detail will sure help so many others out.

from Lagos get to Seme Border, cross the border and enter a car going to Tokpa/Dantokpa market in Cotonou Benin Republic, (it costs about 1,000 CFA), where they will stop you at Tokpa market ask the bike men there to take you to where you will enter a direct bus to Senegal, it costs about 55,000CFA (approximately 19,000 Naira) from Senegal you can easily cross to Gambia through a ferry or somethinh like that.

Finally am live on the DIY importation thread. It feels good to be here. Instead of just reading and receiving, now I can contribute, exchange ideas, ask questions etc. Several times in this season two, I will see questions that I would have helped out with answers, looking at page number will suggest to me that it's already stale.

I already know the basic of importation and e-business years ago but to be honest, I didn't conclude a single transaction online. Most times, I will source manufacturers, suppliers online and the transaction is finished offline. But I have learnt a lot from this thread. I have also initiated and completed transactions online. All thanks to El Mateo the guy that initiated the season one and everyone that has kept the vision alive... You guys are awesome. Great 2014 for all of us.

Please my aunt has been sick for some months now and she has been moved from one hospital to another. At first it was swollen eyes, she was later diagnosed of various ailment at several hospitals. These ailment that she was diagnosed of includes: Malaria, Typhoid, cholesterol and finally hepatitis. All these seems confusing. The whole ailment started since september and I have not been around till now. Below is her body condition.

Her body is swollen, she is always feeling tired, she complains that her body is so heavy, she can't stand up from the bed without assistance and can hardly walk for five minutes.

Please I need assistance as regards to the likely ailment associated with the above listed symptoms?

Hello Lizu, I started following the thread from the start. Please in my own case I want to be sending it down to relatives who will now do the supply to African shops and other end users in their country of residence. will I need all the listed process with the bank as money or mode of payment won't be an issue. In my position let me guess what I need to do based on information I got from here are as follows:

1) Source the product at a good price (That I can do)

2) Move the product down to Lagos (I can do that)

3) Take it to NAFDAC office in Yaba for approval and certification. (I can do that)

4)Register with NEPC (am clueless if I must do that, being that I will be operating in a small scale and may not have all the money to register with them if it is too expensive?)

5) Move the product to NAHCO/SAHCOL (I can do that as well, do I need to package the product before or at NAHCO?)

6)Packaging the product, (am clueless on this, will I be able to see people packaging product at NAHCO so as to learn from them)

7) Can I negotiate the price and pay directly to the airlines or must I use the freight forwarding agents?

How will my relatives receive the product (at the airport or at the forwarding agents' recipient in the delivery destination?)

They were actually confronted at Nkpor junction, I heard one of them had a bullet wound and the Nissan Amarda's tire was also shot. I had two encounter with them that day, the first one at a distance of about 30 feet. I was coming from my aunt's church at Feggae, I couldn't join in the thanksgiving service because my white clothe was stained with mud while our car was stucked in the mud at Egbengwu, Nimo where I went to pick some foods for the thanksgiving.

On coming back from the church around 11:am, the bike man dropped me at Ziks round about very close to Enugu park. Every where was deserted, their bus. was packed in the middle of the roundabout opposite Zik's house. I had earlier heard gunshots before we got there, so I decided to move into the garden and stay for a while and to also know what happened. Unknown to me, they were the ones with the bus, I walked pass them and didn't realize until I saw some people peeping at me from the flowers in the garden. I had to keep a straight face until I got into the garden.

I also ran into the abandoned car after about fifteen minutes, by then the whole road was filled up with mobile police and military men.

Nobody is giving any useful information here. We all know its a good idea, we all know that you have garri, oil and all the foodstuffs, we all know that all those our local foods are expensive abroad but what we don't know is the process of getting the business done. Some will regard it as an intellectual property, nobody is forcing anybody to spill the information.

Those claiming to be clearing and forwarding agents, sorry, I mean the clearing and forwarding agents here should give a little bit breakdown on things such as contrabands, taxes on exporting agricultural products, packaging options and prices to get some of these items to some destinations. with these, anyone interested in doing business will now know the cost of procuring the items, exporting it, logistics and other related expenses and compare it with the cost of the items he intends to export at his target markets. If anyone feels the business is profitable for him then he can contact you for business.

It is better you get this phone from here or take with you a little bit above the budget here in Nigeria. I don't live there, but when my friend gives me the price I will make it available to you.

OP, Well done for your effort in providing information here. Let me also add some information based on my most recent trip.

From my recent observations, there are a lot of changes at the border from what it used to be back then when I use to frequent Benin Republic. I came back from my short trip to Benin last week Wednesday.

I used to withdraw money at the Nigerian side of the border before crossing, I did same again. On crossing the border every where was so unorganized with new routes introduced. My bike customer of over three years requested to hold the money because the route can be unpredictable these days. When we crossed he gave me back the money immediately which I didn't count because I have given him much more in the past. I tried to do some exchange but I consider the rate high at N345 to 1000Francs so I decided to do the exchange at the Tokpa market. Something went wrong I lost some tens of thousands.

At the end of the day after my shopping, I ran out of cash and needed to make some withdrawal at the ATM using my GTB Naira Mastercard. I made the bitter discovery that all the machines around the Misebo market doesn't accept master card from Diamond bank to Ecobanks etc I had a chat with one of the security men at the bank he directed me to go to UBA that their ATM pays Mastercard, on getting there I was very disappointed because it rejected my card outrightly. I was directed from one bank to another until I get to the Societe Generale, their machine has the facility to pay mastercard but unfortunately it was under maintenance. I decided to wait hoping it will end in no time, I waited for over 30mins until the security men changed duty and advised me to come back tomorrow. I insisted and waited but after waiting for too long without any positive outcome I left in disappointment as the is almost empty.

MY ADVICE,
Open an Ecobank account here in Nigeria, get their Visa debit/ATM card, deposit all the money you intend to use in the account and withdraw little amount of money that can take you to Cotonou. By doing this you have reduced the risk of carrying cash across the border and all those shady bureau de change. You have also saved some money from exchange as the atm will be paying you at the official exchange rate of Naira to Francs.

SOME FIGURES FROM MY MOST RECENT TRIP

1)EXCHANGE RATE: N345 - 1,000 FRANCS(you can negotiate and get it less)

2)FROM IYANA IPAJA TO SEME BORDER: BUS N400, CAR N500 (These rates are applicable and available from this destination early in the morning, once it is afternoon you may have to go to Iyana Oba or mile 2 depending on where you stay)

3)CROSSING THE BORDER WITHOUT PASSPORT SHOULDN'T COST MORE THAN N1,000(it is actually cheaper N500 and less whether you are using bike or Vesper, but you need to be careful so you don't enter the wrong person that will extort you half way.

4)AT THE BENIN REPUBLIC SIDE OF THE BORDER, CARS CHARGE AN AVERAGE OF 1,000 FRANCS TO COTONOU(TOKPA) AND 5,000 FRANCS TO TOGO.(Remember 1,000 Francs is the equivalent of N345 Naira)

Is she not the same girl they rumoured to be the problem between Ikechukwu and Dbanj back then at Mohits? although a model friend later disclaimed it and told me it was not her.

Interesting... at first I'll feel reluctant, but it ends up with much, gist, smile and openness.
