ebuk4real: To remember that this is the same Adeshina I religiously followed his column while still at The Sun newspaper still baffles me. He wrote as a man of strong convictions that if thrown in a pit of Lions like Daniel of the holy scriptures, he would still stand & speak for the truth. And I never missed his column.
But after APC welcomed him to the banquet table, I guess it's either he intentionally shuts down his brain or his meal was laced with memory loss.
Now I know the meaning of the saying which goes thus: Never trust an average Nigerian with power. Forget Nija... Na politics and power. Unless he is part of the decision making team (he clearly is not), he can either report what has been decided or quit. |

Simplyleo: Wrong, very wrong @ the text in bold.
Your volumetric analysis was very correct, but wrong inference.
Analytically, you are obviously a good chemistry student but poor in drawing inferences.
The alcoholic content per unit volume was reduced but the overall alcoholic content is intact. Yep. Hence more time required to get in the mood |

helinues: The effects of dilutions are not quick like concentration.. I always dilute my drinks to reduce ( Outside effects) even though I know say after hours the effects go be baddest. Lol. The effect no go reach when you no dilute am because the concentration in the blood stream is reduced via metabolism. Of course if you found a way to take the diluted volume at a very fast rate, the effect would be different but certainly not same as undiluted. |
Food › Re: Does Mixing Alcoholic Drinks With Non-Alcoholic Drinks Reduce Effect? by UncleJudax(m): 6:45pm On Dec 08, 2019 |
RichDad1: It changed nothing in the alcoholic content. It only makes it easier to drink. It reduces the effect of the alcohol with time. So takes longer time to get high. |
Food › Re: Does Mixing Alcoholic Drinks With Non-Alcoholic Drinks Reduce Effect? by UncleJudax(m): 6:43pm On Dec 08, 2019 |
helinues: In chemistry, concentration is different from dilution cos the effects are different If you take a 20% alc.100ml vodka without mixing it with a non alcoholic beverage, you would knock off way sooner than someone who diluted it. Diluted alcohol has a less dramatic effect on the body, especially in the short run. Dilution is the reduction of concentration. |
Food › Re: Does Mixing Alcoholic Drinks With Non-Alcoholic Drinks Reduce Effect? by UncleJudax(m): 6:36pm On Dec 08, 2019 |
Yes. it is called dilution. The concentration with respect to volume is reduced, thus more volume is needed to saturate the brain. |

FemiMaduka: These scenes [Hausa vs Yoruba] have become a yearly ritual. Contrary to what people might be willing to admit, I think the Igbos have the least tendency, amongst the three-majors, to engage in inter-ethnic brawls.
If I might add: if the Igbos leave this union, I do not think there would be much left of Nigeria; other groups would opt to chart their course separately. A balance would be tipped. People know this but they aren't ready to acknowledge it.
Anyway, we all augment each other in unique ways. We are better together, for our sake and for the sake of the black race—within and without Africa.
The predilection of an Hausaman, or Fulaniman, to draw a dagger and strike within a very short notice is legendary. Sahelian groups have been observed to have a very short fuse.
We need to outgrow these very unnecessary kerfuffles. You have to sort out the basis of your togetherness. At the moment, the only parties cheering one Nigeria are those stepping on others. |

Kanade21: The thing is, the government has also given out a lot of private refineries licenses to build and operate....and the reason why they aren't operating is because subsidy on petrol means they would operate at a loss...for every liter of fuel they refine.
As for Dangote...the government is not paying or subsidisng him in the building of his refinery. 3billion dollars of the cost came from his pockets...the rest came from loans from international banks, and from the African development bank, part of said loans the government past and present helped secure because the refinery is after all for Nigeria's benefit.
And the reason why Dangote gets those loans is because if things go wrong...the banks can easily get their money back.
Even then, the subsidy on fuel may make things difficult for Dangote to operate his refinery. He may make some money on selling other refined products which aren't subsidized...like Diesel and Kerosene...but I doubt he would make a profit on selling fuel at N145 per liter...when the production cost might be higher.
As for NNPC refieneries not operating...corruption, plus the fact that the subsidy regimen forces NNPC to in essence operate at a loss.
If oil subsidy went or was completely removed..ie Buhari stops paying undereecovery and leaves the price setting in the hands of marketers...prices would go up, leading to probably more refinereis as investors move in to take advantage of potential profits..., and NNPC now having the profit potentially to fund refineries upgrade, and build more. The thing is, it would also cause hardship , especially raised food prices...for Nigerians. So, government keeps on paying subsidy(no matter what they say, or they call it). I see where coming from...but na politics be all this...if it is not working for you, don't defend it. Same Buhari said there was nothing like Subsidy. Why did fuel pump price jump to 145? And subsidiary still day? Dangote was promised a lower exchange rate by the FG for his imports with respect to the refinery...how is that not subsidisation? NNPC is operating at a lost? Hahaha...these guys doubled the fuel consumption from 20/25 million liters a day to 50 million...do you know where the money goes?...they operate accounts not linked to Integrated payment system?...etc Don't feel for the rich, unless you are one of them. Be less emotional about your politics... Be safe. |

Since they have the richest man in the world, why do they have the worst kind of poverty in d country? How do they control d oil in ur backyard? Hahaha. This is the mentality that has made the south second class Nigerians. Get this, politics and elections are about wining Hearts and minds...aka emotion. The alamajiris are doing their bit, how they a fairing is non of your business. Royalties and top Northers own oil wells in your village, you can't own 1g of Nickel in the North. Dangote is being subsidised by the FG to build a refinery, while they make sure none of the public refineries are working. Who heads NNPC? who is the petroleum minister? Who is in charge of NPA? Customs? ..... The alamajiris are used to put the North in power...so they determine how much you pay for anything in the country... In politics, everyone is used, the question is...if you are better than them, why do they control your life? |
