The campaign train of the South South Movement (SSM) today stormed Evbareke Spare Parts Market. The campaign train was greeted by excited traders from within the market and residents of the area.

The agenda of the campaign train was to bring the gospel of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and his Deputy Candidate Mallam Ganiyu Audu to the traders of the market and its environs.

Speaking to the cluster of traders gathered to hear what the campaign team had to say, Hon. Osaro Obazee told the people that the campaign train was there to bring the message of hope, development and good governance synonymous with APC and its 2020 Edo Governorship Candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

He stated that the Pastor Ize-Iyamu's government with effect from November 12th, 2020 will be a friendly government that everyone can associate with without fear or prejudice.

He further said the government will focus on providing quality living for the people of the State, as that was one of the dividends of democracy.

Fully present to show solidarity with the SSM Campaign Squad were Hon. Chris Okaeben, Member EDHA and the Director General, SSM, Engr. Gabriel Iduseri and Chief Emmanuel Iyase (Deputy Director General Edo South, SSM)

Also in attendance were Hon. Joshua Uwagboe (State Secretary, SSM); Barr. Jude Uyi Ediale ( Director, Information, Publicity & Media); Hon. Maureen Ekhoeragbon (JP) (Director of Women Interest/ Affairs, Edo South).

Other notable officers that were also present to grace the occasion included Hon. Emike Obaze (Asistant Secretary); Hon. Sweet Ikponmwosa (Director of Welfare); Hon. Patrick Eregie (Director, Business & Youth Empowerment); Hon. Rita Igbinovia (Deputy Director, Contact and Mobilisation) and Hon. Vitalis Eshokene (Director, Logistics/Protocol).

The Campaign Train of the South South Movement (SSM) is set to storm more parts of the State in its set out agenda to spread the message of APC and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu to the nooks and crannies of the State in order to reposition Edo State and put her on the path of sustainable development.

The South South Movement (SSM) has vowed never to rest on its oars until victory is secured for the APC in the 2020 September 19th Governorship election in Edo State.

Thank God you witnessed this scenario, if you tell APC online wailers, they will disagree with you because they want to work for their money being paid by politicians. Election is not done by online wailing and creating of trends against a particular candidate, come see and hear for yourself in Benin City or Edo in general. I move round Benin City today, Governor Obaseki is loved by the people, people who have not been voting before said they will vote this time because of Governor Obaseki.
These are the following things working in favour of Governor Obaseki
1) Prompt payment of workers and pensioners salaries. No queuing and died of pensioners again since his government
2) South South of Nigeria including Edo loved PDP. Check the voting patterns, they vote PDP
3) Majority of Edoites are seeing Oshiomole as trying to make himself a godfather of Edo State politics, everyone knows that majority of Edoites don't want to hear anything like godfather, they hate that word. That was one of the antics Oshiomole used to win his second term election.
4) Edo people knows how to resist federal might, rigging is usually minimal compare to Kogi and Osun etc
5) Confessions of Oshiomole against Ize Iyamu during 2016 election is still fresh in the mind of Edo people. Ize Iyamu agreeing to be a cultist while he was in school is also a big blow to him. Edoites don't support cultist, they believed once a cultist is a cultist.
6) The stoppage of agberoism in Edo State by Governor Obaseki is also a plus to him. People believe that a vote for Ize Iyamu will bring back Tony Kabaka to continue his agberoism which people don't want to go back to that era.
7) Some APC governors are in support of Governor Obaseki as well as all the Governors under PDP, the governor will have financial muscles to challenge the federal might.
Majority of Edoites knows how to collect money on election grounds and vote who they want to vote for. Only a few succumb to financial inducement.
Let's watch and see how it goes. September 19 is two months time.

I said it before,d only way for Ize iyamu to win is to distance himself from that loud mouth called Oshiomonle.

I went to town in Benin City today, I met with some state workers, drivers union workers and drivers and some other persons to seek for their own opinions about the election, they all told me that they are voting for Governor Obaseki because of what he has done. I was told that he have been paying the workers and pensioners salaries as at when due. All the employment he has done is parmanent. A nurse in one of the state hospitals told me that the job she got from Obaseki government, if it was Oshiomole time, she would have been asked to stop. She told me that most people Oshiomole employed that she knows was sack my Oshiomole before leaving office.
Let's see how the election will go, from my conclusion, APC can only win by rigging but the people I spoke with told me that they are ready to vote and defend their votes. Governor Obaseki have so many positive sides but he is not 100%.
Stop ranting online, come meet the real electorates and you understand better.

When the rice man – the Governorship aspirant of the PDP, Mr Ken Imansuagbon– warned his party of an Ize-Iyamu political machine few weeks ago, he was merely saying that “the fear of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu” , the governorship flagbearer for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state, “is the beginning of wisdom” in Edo politics, but many didn’t fully grasp the point that was being made.

With these words, Imansuangbon clearly acknowledged the steady popularity - almost cult-like following- of the tall and handsome, God-fearing Edoborn politician amongst the men, women, youths, professionals, artisans, and the masses of the state, as evidence of the growing dissatisfaction with the current State governor. And this was even before Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu emerged as the flagbearer of the APC.

The statement was also an acknowledgement that the relevance of the current state government was eroding because of its poor visibility and glaring inability to proffer solutions to increasingly pressing socio-economic and political challenges.

Mr Imansuangbon's statement also highlighted a most worrying fact; the realisation that Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu's fame, reach, tactics and strategy would make it impossible, even foolhardy, to tamper with the electoral process, coming up in Edo, September 19, 2020, as was the case in the past.

To the opposition party, PDP, and its tenants at Osadebey Avenue, Benin City, it does come as worrying evidence, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu's profile and popularity, despite all the hurdles they created and put on his path up till this moment. They have always been completely dazed and their candidate, for want of a better label, know that his initial absolute and seemingly unwavering support base has since caved in.

Whether the growing popularity of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is the result of increasing confidence in his capacity to surmount hurdles or the penchant to come out unscathed or it is his preparedness to serve with his Simple Agenda, a blueprint that sold out on Amazon with its people-focussed policies and programmes,it is a statement of fact. And it is also true that it is an indication of the people's growing disenchantment with deteriorating social conditions in Edo and the pressing security challenges, which the present state government has failed to address, headlong. So the people are eager to end the reign of an inept government which have lost all sense of decency and credibility.

This is the real threat to the present state government's unceremonious almost 4- year hold on power. It is time for the plausible alternative to the most incompetent political leadership that has ever emerged in Edo’s history. The only place fit for the head of such a government who parades dubious credentials, and choose to transfer allegiance to a lifeless party that was rejected nationally, five years ago and 13 years ago by all Edo people, is the rubbish heaps of history.


However, their dread of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu can be understood. Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is a glaring and present danger for the useless political contraption called PDP, whose dream to be back to relevance can never see reality. Edo can only move forward not backwards where the PDP belongs.
