Tecno66: So, because he has a candidate for speakership, then the clerk of the house should be instructed to invite only 9 of the 24 members elect for the inaugural meeting? Is that how democracy is practiced? Because they know if all the elected members are present they don't have the numbers to install their puppet. Nigerian politicians behave as if they own tomorrow. How did you know they were not invited? Did you not read from what the speaker said after swearing in? He said most of the members elect have not completed their CCB and by so doing, they can't be inaugurated. Have the other members elect come to deny it or the house should keep on waiting for them? |

Akiika: When we tell you that Nigeria isn't ripe for democracy, una go dey make noise. i still maintain that all we need in Nigeria is one ethical and moral but ruthless Autocrat to come and treat everyone's Bleep up. If this story is true, imagine the effrontery the Governor has to disregard rules just to have his way. Una go turn around now to blame Buhari for una problem, why is the Governor so desperate to have the State assembly under his pocket, is't it a ploy to rule the state as an Authoritarian? he doesn't want to be checked. What are your evidence to show the governor was involved? You think the house of assembly composition does not matter to the governor? Don't you know the leader of house of assembly can frustrated the plans of the governor? Constitutionally speaking, the inauguration was legal and it has been confirmed my the APC chairman in Edo state. Don't contribute to issues with emotions. |

muykem: You seems not well this morning. Are you saying the same 9 members can suspend 15 members and impeach governor. I need not to insult you in return, I'm just educating you on what the constitution of Nigeria says. Why not take your time, google and read for yourself. 1/3 members of the house with the mace as symbol of authority can do anything including impeaching the governor. Have you forgotten what played out in Ekiti state when Fayose came in as governor? The PDP members form a quorum of 1/3, impeach the APC member who was the speaker and suspended the other 18 APC members. Did you hear of any litigation? Secondly, the same issue also wanted to play out in benue state when majority of the house of assembly members decamped with the governor to PDP. The few APC house members lost out because they couldn't form a quorum of 1/3 to carryout legal impeachment. The proposed impeachment was declared illegal by the court because they were not up to 1/3. Be educated on issue before vomiting out rubbish. |

Otuegbe: I counted only 9 members. I hope Court will not find fault with this kind of election. 9 out of 24 is not a quarum They formed quorum. 8 members are needed, their decisions are right in the eyes of the constitution. |

muykem: Why my governor? You don't need to result to illegality. You will not have sympathy again if they use the same illegality on you. Go read the constitution of Nigeria, nothing is wrong in what they did in the eyes of the constitution. The report says 9 members, these 9members is above 1/3(quorum) of the house that can take any decisions on behalf of others and it's stands. Constitutional, the speaker can suspend the 15 members if the other 8 members agree with him. The constitution also says the house can sit anytime as far the mace which is the symbol of authority is in the house. I pray you understand my point. |

Lamasta: Nigeria my country where 9 is greater than 24 The constitution says 1/3 of the house can sit to decide anything and it will stand. 9 members out of 24 members is above 1/3 and their decide stands. It doesn't necessarily mean the house must be 2/3. I'm not supporting what they did but their actions are right in the eyes of the constitution. Thank you all. |

Health › Re: Some Labs Are Giving False HIV Results In Lagos - Doctor Olufunmilayo by Unigrad: 3:17pm On Jun 07, 2019 |
kingi777: Why should somebody kill himself or herself just because of HIV test that's not confirmed. If a Lab tells you are positive, the best to do is to go for confirmatory test in other facilities. I know most labs advice their clients to confirm at heart to heart centres in various primary health centres, general hospitals or any nearby hospital which is free. HIV test is free in most government and USAID sponsored hospitals but costs at most #1000 in private health establishment due to some logistics. In developed world all health workers work synergistically for the good of the patients but in Nigeria, it's pull him syndrome/ supremacy tussle that's the order of the day. Everybody is a lab scientists whether you studied science lab, CHEW, biology or any science or art course in Nigeria. When these people churn out questionable results, you turn to blame qualified and licensed med lab scientists that suffered for 6 years studying and acquiring experience. Everywhere labs, even some hospitals, pharmacies, PHC, maternity have labs manned by those who have no business being there because the employers cannot pay qualified scientists. Many pharmacies abound for e.g. in Abuja but few are manned by real pharmacists. Please try to identify real Doctors, Pharmacists, Medical Laboratory Scientists, other health professionals and verify the registration status of their facilities before patronising. Thanks. This really shows you are knowledgeable about what is happening in Nigeria health facilities. This issue of fake results are usually from a private hospitals that operates medical laboratories. What they do is to employ non medical laboratory scientist to man the laboratory because their pay are always very low without considering the end effects on the patients. |
