For once the discipline never killed me.

Missionary schools r for discipline. Same as military schools.

From my jss1 till SSS1 I was hated and flogged, the picture posted above is a child's play flogging.

We r men, we were built to b strong and masculine.

Let's do a bit of bible study here.
I will take you back to Genesis 7:1-3
There are facts I would want to point out from that passage
I. All animals were not taken into the Ark in pairs, unclean animals and flying creatures were 7 pairs.
II. The concept of species makes that passage look confusing to you guys. The taxa did not come into use until the mid-seventeenth century (the 1600s) when John Ray, an English naturalist coined it . 'kind' as used by the bible definitely does not refer to species as we know now. It probably refers to animals that look alike since there was no taxonomical yardstick beyond gender and morphology in those days. An observe would have classified a dog and a wolf together, an American black bear and an Asian black bear( take for instance) since they look alike and can interbreed, irrespective of the fact that they are different species.
III. Biodiversity and gene pool were not too large as we have now. The population had not exploded then, so, it was easier to have a knowledge of biodiversity in that period than now
IV. Approximately how many animals were on the Ark? According to the book The Genesis Flood, Doctors Morris and Whitcomb, there would have been an average of 35,000 animals on board with Noah and his family.
V. How large was Noah's Ark? According to the bible, it was of the dimension length 300 cubits, breadth 50 cubits, and height 30 cubits i.e. 450 x 75 x 45 , roughly two-thirds the size of titanic. These would perfectly house those animals
VI. Did aquatic animals die too? Some would have died because as the water level rose, the pressure difference in water height would have killed some aquatic animals and when the water was receding, some could have landed on land and died. In one sense, most aquatic animals would have survived. Logical to say the ocean/aquatic habitat has more biodiversity compared to other habitats.

If you care to explore the origin of life, I can refer to books that will help you understand both concepts, which are both logical but one is a theory, and the other looks more factual. You might also want to consider studying genetics and inheritance as well as lookup videos on archaeology and origin of life. In all, be as open as possible when digging out facts.

So in other words all animals today had their descendants on that ark. Cool then.

So I have learnt something about the arguments of theists and atheists.....while the atheists present facts which is always subject to change and further research, the theists don't challenge anything. All theists do is ensure that everything discovered about the world somehow fits into the narrative of the bible.

That in itself already creates a prejudice. since there is nothing to challenge, why discuss it.

I wish I could go through the books you are recommending, but I am not sure I would have that time. Then there is my gut feeling that I would be reading a book written by another person who doesn't believe there is anything wrong with the creation story or who has found a creative way to explain it.

Finally just to recap. The earth being without form and void meant there was no sun and the earth just floated around. The sun was created and the earth was made to spin on its axis while revolving around the sun. And that was how night and day came to be.

2. On which of the creative days were terestial animals created?

3. Were Adam and Eve created on the same day? If not, one which of the days were there created?

4. Finally, how long was the seventh day? And what happened at the end of it.

I want you to give me answers to these questions. Having a real understanding of the above will help you know how long the earth has been, and the answers are all in the creation account of the Bible.

You see, chapter one of the Bible simply lists the order of creation. Chapter two details the process of the creation, giving deep explanation to the length of the creative days.

Them no dey use quarrel study Bible oo if you want to understand it. You have to calm down to be able to understand how each account correlates to the other.

All those arguing in favour of Science about the age of the Earth and dinosaurs, (and many other Scientific findings) argues because they have been taught and given some ideas on how to defeat ordinary people with little or no in-depth Scientific knowledge.

The Bible says a day in heaven is like a thousand years on earth.

Now when GOD was creating the earth, it was not stated specifically if he did all one day after the other but we were told that he did the creation in 6days meaning he just might create the beast and let them be for years(By heaven calculation) which may translate to millions of years on earth.

So each day of creation may have several heavenly days in between.

Intact using simple human logic, I believe there was no need for GOD to rush the creations cos there will definitely be need for him to see how each creation thrives on earth before adding another one.

I may be wrong o cos I'm not GOD but just judging by the scriptural reference of 1000years on earth is like a day in heaven.

Following the creation account in the Bible you'll see that the earth has been in existence for billions of years. And carbon dating proves that right. For example some rocks are more than 2 billion years old, and studying the fossil record shows that animals lived hundreds of millions of years before man was created

Only a myopic person will see the creation account as just a literal 24 hour day. But those days actually described periods and not literal days.

When I didn't have a job for a very long time and as a devoted christian, no boyfriend. My world was crashing before me.

Meanwhile there was this American big shot ( returnee) that was pestering me but I've been turning him down.

One very day things got so worse that the devil ministered to me to go and meet this man. I kept pushing the thought untill around 8pm. Then it came on strongly.

I began to dress up. Immediately I picked up my trousers, I heard the sound of a heavy rain. As in... The rain didn't start with drizzles. It came in very heavy torrential drops and didn't stop till well into midnight. I couldn't go anylonger.

Now, when this thing happened, it wasn't rainy season. So I knew it was God who helped me overcome that temptation. So I turned and cried bitterly to God that night feeling sorry for nearly giving in to temptation. I slept like a baby that night and somehow experienced a peace that I still can't describe.

After a few months of continous prayers, studying the Bible ( especially the books of apostle Paul and how he hoped against hope in his trying times) and begging God not to let me fall, he surprised me in ways I least expected. And one of the things I asked God was that he should settle me to be on my own. I'm done working under people and God did exactly that.

Today, I look back and I'm greatful to God for not letting me fall.

God held me close. so I wouldn't let go.
