After been knocked out by Eyitayo Jegede and all the intrigues that followed, Jimoh Ibrahim has not spoken again. Where is he? Did he vote in today's election? And for which party please? |
The embattled former candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ondo State, Jimoh Ibrahim may have finally decided to throw his support behind the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr.Rotimi Akeredolu in tomorrow's governorship election. This may not be unconnected with his last minute replacement with Eyitayo Jegede by the Court of Appeal. In series of tweets, Jimoh Ibrahim extolled the outstanding qualities of Akeredolu and publicised his support for his candidature for the governorship race. "The people of Ondo have no choice than to Love Akeredolu. I know him as a selfess politician with peerless leadership. #OndoLoveAkeredolu". "I can see #OndoLoveAkeredolu everywhere. Why won't the people of Ondo Love Aketi? He's a consistent politician with first class integrity". He tweeted. Meanwhile, earlier today, Jimoh Ibrahim had lambasted the candidate of Alliance for Democracy, Olusola Oke, for his greed, desperation and despicable political prostitution. If Jimoh follows the path of these recent revelations, he may end up voting against his party in protest on Saturday. ki02020:U mean APC will lie against itself? Its part of PDP's plan to gather few votes for its candidate who they fear have no chance for victory |
The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has declared support for the candidate of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, in tomorrow's governorship election in Ondo State. This came after a meeting of the representatives of the former Lagos governor and Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State in the early hours of Friday. The deal, it was learnt, was brokered by Ekiti State governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, who had recently forged a relationship with Tinubu. However, investigations revealed that the deal is being opposed to by Osun State governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola. Aregbesola, it was learnt, is strongly in support of Chief Olusola Oke of the Alliance for Democracy, AD, and is reluctant in agreeing with Tinubu's deal with Mimiko, Jegede and PDP. Aregbesola had been a major financier of Oke's AD but is now facing the challenge of pulling out at the last minute. The new deal seems to have put the Oke campaign in turmoil as the funds expected from Lagos had not come as at 12 noon today. A competent source disclosed that the decision of Tinubu to support the candidate of the PDP was in continuation of the efforts of the APC leader to reconcile with leaders of the PDP in the South West. With the national leadership of the APC working against the interest of Tinubu in the south west region, the former Lagos governor is now reconstructing his political base in the region. Both Mimiko and Fayose had held separate meetings with Tinubu and had agreed to form a working partnership ahead of the 2019 general election. Part of the deal was that Tinubu would support both Mimiko and Fayose would be allowed to control the politics of their respective states. Also an integral part of the deal is the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who is jointly spearheading the realignment with Tinubu. Source: PDP Propaganda Unit

After missing the opportunity of participating in the Ondo State Governorship Debate organised by Channels Television, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu is organising a make-up meeting with Ondo People tagged "AN EVENING WITH AKETI". The interactive session is scheduled for Thursday 24th November 2016. Mr.Akeredolu wishes to use the occasion to present and articulate his blueprint for governance to all attendees and by extension the good people of Ondo state. The occasion will also afford him the opportunity to erect and activate an enduring platform of direct engagement with the organised Professional bodies, Traditional rulers, institutions, Women groups, Youth groups, Religious leadership and other stakeholders in ondo state. Furthermore, the APC candidate intends to use the occasion to secure an opportunity for cross fertilisation of ideas and expert opinions between him and leaders in Ondo state. The Venue for this event is the St Thomases event centre, Isinkan Akure. Time : 1pm prompt. Versatile Reporters recalls that Mr.Akeredolu through an excuse press release blamed his inability to attend the Channels Television debate on his tight campaign schedule especially in remote villages in the state which he claims have neither electricity nor television sets to watch debates. Meanwhile, candidates of AD, SDP and PDP attended the Channels Television debate. Source: www.versatilereporters.com/2016/11/after-missing-channels-debate-akeredolu.html

As the date for the concluding part of the rerun legislative elections in Rivers State draws near, the All Progressives Congress, APC has urged owed teachers in the state to exercise their anger at Gov.Nyesom Wike through the ballot by voting enmass for members of the All Progressives Congress, APC. This advise was handed down in a press release by the spokesperson of the APC in Rivers State, Chris Finebone. It reads below: Following the state of suffering and squalor in which the over 13,000 teachers employed by the last Amaechi administration in Rivers State and their families are being subjected to by the Gov. Nyesom Wike government, the Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, calls on the teachers and their suffering family members to tell truth to Gov. Wike by rejecting every PDP candidate in the rerun elections scheduled by INEC for December 10 in the State. Gov.Nyesom Wike needs to be reminded that standing on a podium to take the Oaths of office and Allegiance is not a mere empty ritual but a solemn event that must remind the office holder of his responsibilities to the people under his charge. Indeed, it marks the acceptance to serve the people fairly and justly, taking full responsibility of the assets and liabilities of the preceding administration as governance is a continuum or going concern. The APC notes with disappointment that since May 29, 2015 Gov. Wike was sworn in to office, he has transferred his self- declared war on his predecessor to the innocent 13,200 teachers employed by former Gov.Chibuike Amaechi to help restore the educational system in the State. Most significantly is that the governor has vowed not to pay the senior secondary teachers their outstanding 3 months salaries brought forward from the last administration. The logic for this heartless denial of the right of these teachers by the present governor remains curious to all sane minds and the teachers themselves. The unfortunate teachers have become hapless collateral damage in the one- man war of attrition in which the governor is the lone adversary and the target Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. The APC believes that governments all over the world strive to operate above certain moral baseline but the opposite is the case with the Wike administration. The government is run [and perhaps quite understandably] like a Cosa Nostra where the operating ethics and norms depend on how the Boss feels on the day. The APC believes that there is usually a payback time. Such a day perfectly presents itself on the 10th of December when the rerun elections hold in Rivers State. The suffering 13,200 teachers and their equally unlucky family members will have an opportunity to speak in clear language to Gov.Nyesom Wike with their PVCs by voting for all APC candidates and rejecting the governor and his PDP people. As the pioneer Chief of Staff to former governor of Rivers State, Chibuike Amaechi, the present governor can attest that when Amaechi was sworn into office October, 2007, he did not attempt to pick and chose what to implement or reject for political reasons despite the peculiar circumstances at the time. The present governor must live up to the responsibilities imposed on him by his Oaths of Office and Allegiance. Having vowed not to pay the senior secondary teachers their hard-earned 3 months wages, the entire 13,200 teachers must courageously mobilise their households and friends and teach Gov. Wike a piece of electoral lesson by voting against all PDP candidates on December 10. Source: www.versatilereporters.com/2016/11/use-your-votes-to-teach-wike-bitter.html?m=1

TonyeBarcanista:Jegede of which party please and for which election? |
An HIV-positive Malawian man has been found guilty for having unprotected sex with newly bereaved widows. The practice of “widow cleansing”, when a widow must have sex after her husband dies, was outlawed a few years ago. Eric Aniva, a sex worker known in Malawi as a “hyena”, admitted in a BBC interview to having sex with more than 100 women and underage girls and not disclosing his HIV status. This led to the president ordering his arrest in July. President Peter Mutharika had wanted Aniva tried for defiling young girls, but none came forward to testify against him. Instead Aniva was tried for “harmful cultural practice” under section five of Malawi’s Gender Equality Act for having sex with new widows. Two women testified against him. He will be sentenced on 22 November 2016. The BBC’s southern Africa correspondent Karen Allen says the case has attracted international media attention and sharply divided opinion as to how widespread the practice remains. Aniva was the subject of a BBC feature into various sexual cleansing practices in Malawi. In some remote southern regions of the country it is traditional for girls to be made to have sex with a man after their first menstruation. Last year Malawi banned child marriage, raising the legal age of marriage from 15 to 18 – something activists hoped would put an end to early sexual initiations. Sen.Omogunwa represents Ondo South Senatorial district of Ondo State in the Senate. It may interest you to know that with the defection of Sen.Omogunwa, PDP has no senator in the entire Ondo State now as all the senators of the three senatorial districts are now members of APC. He previously served as commissioners of Works and Information as well as a member of the House of Representatives. Following multiple gunshots wounds sustained from an armed robbery attack in Benin City, Edo State, 82-year-old Mrs. Grace Onaiwu Omogui, mother of former Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Mrs. Ifueko Okauru, died yesterday in a Lagos hospital. A statement released by her family, said the armed robbery attack took place in Edo State capital, on her way from the Sapele Road branch of the Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB). However, the exact date of the robbery attack was not disclosed in the family’s statement issued by her eldest son, Nowamagbe. According to the family statement, the late Madam Omoigui, born on December 28, 1933, had an illustrious professional career, first as an educationist and former Vice Principal of Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Benin City, before she later became a lawyer, and eventually retired as a magistrate in the Lagos State Judiciary. She also represented the Federal Ministry of Education on the Nigerian delegation to India in 1988. Before her demise, she was a Director in the firm of ReStraL Ltd. Rivers State Governor , Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has declared that the state is too big for anybody to impose representatives on the people, stressing that the people must be allowed to elect their representatives . Speaking during a PDP dedication service for the flag off campaign of 2016 rerun/supplementary election in the state at Saint Paul's Anglican Church in Port Harcourt on Sunday , Governor Wike urged the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC) to be neutral in the course of the rerun election to ensure that the will of the people prevails . He said: "This election will prove whether INEC is ready to conduct free and fair elections in Nigeria . " The governor noted that the PDP remains committed to violence-free elections , pointing out that the opponents of PDP should play within the rules of engagement. "What causes violence during election is when the umpire wants to manipulate , rig or write results. We will resist any attempt to write results. "PDP will not be involved in anything violent, but we will not allow anyone to steal our votes. We will protect our votes and ensure that the people's mandate is declared", he said. The governor explained that the PDP was dedicating its forthcoming campaigns for the rerun elections to God, because the party relies on God for victories. He noted that the PDP is sure of victory at the rerun polls because of the massive achievements of his administration in the last 17 months . The dedication service for the flag off of the campaign for the rerun elections was attended by Deputy Governor, Ipalibo Harry Banigo, State and National Assembly members, Political Leaders of the state , Commissioners , Local Government Chairmen, Women and youth groups. Following the suspension of Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin of Nigeria's lower chamber of the national assembly, twenty nine constituents of Kiru/Bebeji in Kano state where He (Jibrin) represents have sued Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house of representatives. Jibrin was suspended for 180 legislative days for allegedly breaching the privileges of lawmakers. The breach of members privileges arose from the budget padding allegations he levelled against Dogara and other legislators. Speaking with journalists in Kano on Friday, Bashir Muqaddam, counsel to the constituents, explained that Jibrin has the constitutional right to air his views as it affects the country. While stating that Jibrin was suspended for exposing the “budget fraud”, Bashir said the plaintiffs wanted to know the authenticity of the suspension. “The plaintiffs want a court interpretation on whether the the house of representatives has power to suspend its member for 180 days. Constitutionally, the number of days prescribed to the lower chamber regarding suspension is only 14 days,” the lawyer said. He said the entire house and its clerk were also defendants in the suit. The court has fixed December 20 for hearing of the matter. Source: www.versatilereporters.com/2016/11/suspension-jibrins-constituents-rise-in.html?m=1

Following earlier reports on the arrest of the governorship candidate of the Alliance For Democracy, AD, Chief Olusola Oke Friday in Ondo State, the real reason why He was arrested has been unravelled. Versatile Reporters gathered that Oke was arrested at a military check point in Okitipupa local government area of Ondo State after the soldiers found guns and a catchment of other sophisticated weapons in his convoy. The weapons were loaded in a Hummer big bumper bus branded as "Olusola Oke for Governor" believed to have been driven by political thugs loyal to the embattled governorship candidate. Versatile Reporters also gathered that several efforts by Olusola Oke to appease the soldiers and secure his release and that of his boys as well as to cover up the case were turned down as the adamant soldiers vehemently rejected his N10million bribe. Some residents of Ondo State who spoke with Versatile Reporters blamed the shameful event on the desperation of the candidate as well as those sponsoring him who are hell bent on imposing him on the people of Ondo State. Recall that Olusola Oke who defected from the All Progressives Congress, APC to the Alliance For Democracy, AD is rumoured to be financially sponsored by the Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola and the APC national leader Bola Tinubu as a result of their grievances at the emergence of Mr.Rotimi Akeredolu as the candidate of their party, the All Progressives Congress, APC. According to His media Aide, Lere Olayinka, Gov.Fayose took his birthday celebration to the streets to give the good people of Ekiti, a chance to share in his joy. Here is the post from Fayose's aide and the pictures from the event. In his characteristic unconventional approach to governance and the art of making his people happy, Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose on Thursday hit some streets of Ado Ekiti with birthday goodies as part of activities marking the celebration of his 56th birthday. With market women and passers-by shouting Oshoko... Oshoko...as they trooped out to celebrate with him, Mr. Fayose asked his well wishers to line up in orderly manner as he sliced and shared the cake amongst them with a little cash for coke to drive it down. Reacting to the unusual development, Governor Fayose said it is only right for him to give back to the same people voted him into office. He said "It is a show of love to my people, we can't sit in the government house and enjoy the comfort of the office without remembering them, I got a lot of gifts on my birthday, cakes, yam tubers, cows, rice and so on, how many can I eat? How many clothes can I wear at a time? "It is just normal, just good for me to go back to the street and give it back to the people that put me in the government house, this is my style, this is me naturally, just that this time around it is more elaborate moving from one junction to the other to ensure about 500 persons per junction get something small on my birthday. "The more people you can touch, the better for your life today and tomorrow, these are the set of people that will never walk into the government house asking for contract, asking for help, they will not even be allowed to get in unless the governor leave the comfort of his office to come and meet with them wherever they are and that is exactly what I am doing. "This are the people that employed us into the office, they should not be abandoned for one minute, we must stay with them continuously at every opportunity". In this picture, we have Gov.Rochas Okorocha (Chairman of APC Governors and Governor of IMO State), Gov.Olusegun Mimiko (Governor of Ondo State and Chairman of PDP governors) and Mr.Rotimi Akeredolu SAN (APC Governorship Candidate in Ondo State). Recall that after a violent protest recently in Ondo State following the replacement of PDP's Eyitayo Jegede by INEC for PDP's Jimoh Ibrahim, Gov.Mimiko rushed to meet President Buhari. Many political watchers predicted that the visit was part of moves by the governor to defect to the APC. While Jegede is Gov.Mimiko's preferred candidate and of the Makarfi faction, Jimoh is of the Sheriff faction. Ahead of the November 26 governorship election, Jimoh Ibrahim has vowed to probe the administration of Gov.Mimiko if he wins. Meanwhile, Gov.Mimiko and his preferred candidate is still hoping to get a favourable judgement from the court of Appeal. With this cheerful fellowship, one can but expect anything. But here is one of my predictions for Ondo State: If Jegede losses his Appeal or if the case isn't concluded before the poll, Gov.Mimiko will order all his supporters to vote for Mr.Rotimi Akeredolu of the APC instead of the rival factional candidate of his party. This is part of the deal to cover up many of his messes. Ondo will be interesting Let's watch keenly.

The suspended Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Timi Frank, has taken the national ledership of his party, to court for the suspension clamped on him by the leadership of South-south zone of the party. Versatile Reporters can authoritively confirm that the party has been duly served with the court summons to appear today before Court 23 sitting in the Apo District of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and the party has gathered its legal team to represent it at court. Frank however may be finally pushed out of the party for ignoring the internal mechanisms aimed at resolving crises. According to Article 21 (section D, subsection 5) of the APC constitution: “Any member who files an action in court of law against the party or any of it’s officers on any matter or matters relating to the discharge of the duties of the party without first exhausting the avenues for redress provided for in this constitution shall automatically stand expelled from the party on filing such action. And no appeal against the expulsion as stipulated in this clause shall be entertained until the withdrawal of the action from court by the member.” Versatile Reporters recalls that the party’s National Vice Chairman (South-south), Ntufam Hilliard Eta had announced the suspension of Timi Frank after he (Frank) had ignored a disciplinary committee set up to investigate allegations against him.
