PoliticsRivers Speaker, Adams Dabutorudima, Resigns by Upritman(op): 3:28pm On Dec 30, 2016
---- Former Speaker Reelected

The Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adams Dabutorudima has resigned from office.
The Speaker who announced his resignation today shortly after the swearing in of newly elected members of the assembly gave no concrete reason for his strange decision.

Versatile Reporters however gathered that the State Governor, Barr.Nyesom Wike must have forced the speaker into resigning from his exalted position.
The Speaker was favoured to replace his predecessor following the decisions of the courts that sacked nearly all the lawmakers from the state during the 2015 general elections due to widespread electoral malpractice, violence and bloodbath.

Similarly, the former Speaker, Rt.Hon.Ikuinyi Ibani-Awaji has been reelected to take over his previous position having won his rerun election and is among those sworn in today. Ibani hails from Andoni, same LGA with top PDP Chieftains like former State Deputy Governor, Engr.Tele Ikuru and Former Acting National Chairman of PDP, Uche Secondus.

PoliticsAccept Your Leaked Audio - Tapes Like Fayose Did , Rivers Apc Tells Gov . Wike by Upritman(op): 11:36am On Dec 30, 2016
The Governor of Rivers State , Chief Barr.Ezebunwo
Nyesom Wike has been urged to take to the path of
truthfulness like his Ekiti State partner in crime to
accept the authenticity of the leaked audio tape
where they were mocking the Nigeria Military after
the outcome of the rerun elections in Rivers State.
This was contained in a statement released by the
State Publicity Secretary of the APC, Chris Finebone
on Friday.
The statement is as below;
The Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives
Congress, APC, received with satisfaction the
confirmation by Gov. Ayo Fayose of Ekiti State that
the telephone discussion clip
between him and Gov Nyesom Wike published by
Saharareporters is authentic. Gov Fayose’s only
grouse is that it was allegedly recorded and leaked
by the Department of State Services [DSS], an
accusation he is yet to provide the evidence.
The APC finds Gov. Fayose’s position very
significant in several aspects. The most important
significance of that admission is that even among
criminals, some level of
honour especially in telling some truth and owning
up to the obvious are necessary.
When the audio recordings of Gov. Wike’s
conversations with his people on rigging the last
December 10 rerun elections surfaced in public
space, the governor rather than own up and raise
other issues about the clips chose to discredit them
even if they were as clear to the deaf and dumb as
could be.
Ordinarily, APC expected Gov. Wike to take
advantage of the panel set up by the Inspector-
General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim
Idris to help unravel what happened during the
elections including the authenticity of the alleged
audio recording clips and his many accusations
against security agencies,
INEC and our party. Instead the governor defiantly
announced that he and the Rivers State Government
would not cooperate with the IGP panel –
something that tend to
suggest that the governor has a lot to hide. The
APC notes that having been unsuccessful in
discrediting the audio clips
Gov. Wike decided to deflect attention from himself
and the criminal nature of the clips by setting up his
own panel to investigate events surrounding the
last December 10 rerun elections in Rivers State.
The APC and its leadership believe that the decision
by Gov.Wike to set up a parallel judicial panel on
the December 10 rerun elections, as laughable as it
appears, is not only to conceal his malfeasance in
the rerun elections but to attempt to pin contrived
wrong doings on his political
opponents, a move doomed to die on arrival.
The APC wishes to remind Gov. Wike that while
immunity shields him from prosecution, it does not
protect him and
indeed any governor from investigation. He must
know that immunity has expiration date and that
day must come.
Therefore, the APC calls on Gov. Nyesom Wike to
tow the line of his Man Friday, Gov. Ayo Fayose and
recognise that even among thieves some level of
honour is necessary. He should own up that the
audio recording of him is authentic instead of
continuing to live in denial. Better still, the governor
should take advantage of the IGP panel to tell all he
knows about the December 10 rerun elections and
possibly exonerate himself instead of the lame
attempts at discrediting the clips and accusing APC, INEC, Police, DSS and everyone else.

PoliticsI Called Wike , But Dss Edited Our Phone Conversation - - Gov . Fayose by Upritman(op): 6:30pm On Dec 29, 2016
Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose has
blamed the Department of State Services for
leaking an edited copy of his telephone with
the governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike to
incriminate him and Wike.
“If the President and his hatchet men in the
DSS, EFCC and other federal government
agencies do not know what to do other than to
record phone conversations of their perceived
political foes, they should just resign and save the country from this harrowing experience,” Fayose said in a statement through Lere Olayinka, his special
assistant on public communications and new
media.
An online medium, Sahara Reporters, on
Thursday, published an audio tape in which a
person purported to be Wike confessed to how he
used his position as the governor of the state to
influence the outcome of the bloody December 10
Rivers rerun polls .
Though the Ekiti State governor did not
disclaim the leaked audio tape, he, however, that it
had been doctored.
“If the President and his hatchet men in the
DSS, EFCC and other federal government
agencies do not know what to do other than to record phone conversations of their perceived political foes, they should just resign and save the country from this
harrowing experience,” he said.
He insisted the federal government was threatened by his popularity and endorsement by notable religious leaders such as Enoch Adeboye and Pastor W. F. Kumuyi. The ruling All Progressives Congress thus resorted to using the DSS and other security agencies to intimidate him and other leading opposition figures, he said.
The governor described the DSS secretly recording his telephone conversations as the height of the political rascality, manipulation, oppression, suppression and irresponsibility by agents of the federal government that are trying so hard to cover up the crimes they perpetrated against the people of Rivers State.
“They should even go beyond taping of my lines
and come to live with me in Ekiti government house
so that they can do per seconds live recordings of
whatever I say because in the year 2017, by the grace of God, I will still say more without apology,” he said.
While maintaining that the APC led federal
government do not respect the laws of the
country, Governor Fayose said; “They know
that what they are doing is illegal and clear
contravention of Section 37 of the 1999
Constitution of the Federal Republic of
Nigeria, which provides that; ‘The privacy of
citizens, their homes, correspondence,
telephone conversations and telegraphic
communications is hereby guaranteed and
protected.’
“However, because they are criminally
minded and are running a tyrannical
government, using the DSS, EFCC and other
agencies, one is not surprised at the current
development.”

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has constituted a Judicial Commission of Inquiry to investigate the killings and other violent acts/matters that occured

PoliticsCivil Society Organisations In Massive Protest Against Gov.wike In Portharcourt by Upritman(op): 2:03pm On Dec 19, 2016
A group of Civil Society Organisations in Rivers State Monday took to the streets of Port Harcourt to protest against the intimidation of security personnel in the State by the State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
The massive group of Protesters were seen carrying placards with various inscriptions against the state of affairs in the State as well as the roles of Gov.Wike in fueling more troubles and destruction of lives and property since his emergence as the state governor.
This protest is coming after a similar one organised by leaders, members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress, APC last week in Portharcourt.
Meanwhile the purported audio-tape of Gov.Wike is still generating debates with the recent moves by the Police authorities to forensically investigate the authenticity of the tape in which rigging/murder plots of the governor were exposed.
With the tensions in Rivers State before and after the December 10th legislative rerun elections, there are fears that the state economy may suffer further as residents and companies are believed to be leaving the state enmass to avoid been trapped in any impending violence.

PoliticsPeter Obi Visits Fr. Mbaka (Photos) by Upritman(op): 11:39am On Dec 19, 2016
A former Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Mr. Peter Obi, on Monday, 19th December, 2016, paid a courtesy visit to the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu Nigeria (AMEN), Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, at the Adoration Ground, Emene
in Enugu State.

The purpose of the visit remains unclear at the point of filing this report. However, there are indications that the visit may be part of Mr.Peter Obi's spiritual consultation towards his rumoured Vice-Presidential ambition.

Obi has been in the news lately for various reasons after leaving the seat of power in Anambra State. The strong supporter of former President Goodluck Jonathan had recently taken a saintly position on various political issues as well as recently being sighted on Bourdillion Street in Lagos walking with a friend without any security detail.

Versatile Reporters recalls that Rev.Fr.Mbaka had ahead of the 2015 General Elections prophesied that Dr.Goodluck Jonathan would lose the presidential race, which eventually became fulfilled. This act has kicked many PDP members and supporters against the fierced Catholic Priest.

PoliticsAPC Protesters Demand The Sack Of INEC REC And Resignation Of Gov.wike by Upritman(op):
Thousands of Rivers People who included leaders, supporters and members of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state Friday took to the streets of Port Harcourt. This is coming barely 24 hours after the state governor, Nyesom Wike led other PDP members and supporters to the Force State Headquarters of the Nigeria Police, demanding the removal of police officers he alleged were compromised during the December 10 legislative rerun elections in the state.
The APC protesters were countering the demand of Gov.Wike and his party, the PDP. The APC protesters led by the Party's National Assistant Secretary and Ambassador-Designate, Chief Oji Ngofa demanded that the police officers in charge of SARS, ACP Akin Fakolade and ACP Stephen Hasso in charge of operation MUST not be transferred outside the state.
They insisted that both Hasso and Fakolade are PROFESSIONAL police officers.
The protesters also visited the INEC office in Portharcourt, demanding the immediate removal of the Rivers INEC REC, Iniede Ikoiwak over ignominious rigging in connivance with Wike and the PDP. Furthermore, they also called for the immediate resignation of the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, for
being responsible for the series of killings in the state.
The protesters carried placrads with various inscriptions including, "Wike The Killer Governor".
Versatile Reporters recalls that an audio tape allegedly involving the governor had gone viral yesterday. In the tape, the governor was heard threatening to kill an unnamed INEC official from Plateau State if He fails to rig the rerun elections in favour of the PDP.
Meanwhile, the state commissioner of Information, Austin Tam-George has denied and rejected the audio-tape saying its a hatched plan by the opposition APC to tarnish the ever rising profile of the Governor.

Weeks to the election, Gov.Wike took to his usual threats, intimidation and accusations against INEC, Security Agencies, The APC and its leaders.
After the fake result sheet drama, Gov.Nyesom Wike also alleged that He had a video exposing a secret rigging meeting with police leadership and Rivers State APC.
The Governor in his words said the release of the video will shake the world and vindicate his previous foul-cries.
Few hours to the election, we are yet to see the Video.
Even the Management of Youtube is waiting.
Gov.Wike must not disappoint the world.
He must not portray Rivers People as Liars.
Those close to him should kindly remind him that the world is waiting for him.
Gov.Wike where is the VIDEO?
If He fails to release the video, then i urge all PDP members and supporters to vote enmass for APC tomorrow in protest.
If a Father and Governor who is supposed to be a role model to his children and the people he governs consciously takes to shameful lies, propaganda and sponsored violence and murders, what then is the moral basis of following him as a 'leader'.
Rivers People must prove a fact this time.
This government has played enough on our collective intelligence.

fake news everywhere

PDP has zoned it's Presidency to the North.
The same people that zoned it north can also zone it otherwise.
For your information, GEJ killed zoning in PDP and contested in 2015 against all odds.
Politics2019: PDP May Field Jonathan Or Lamido As Presidential Candidate by Upritman(op): 12:02pm On Dec 04, 2016
As the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP continues to
seek ways of reuniting Nigeria's main opposition
party, there are indications that when the storm is
over, the party may consider fielding former
president Goodluck Jonathan or ex-Jigawa
Governor, Sule Lamido as its presidential candidate.
This is coming as loyalists of former President
Goodluck Jonathan are trying very hard to end the
crisis in the Party ahead of the 2019 general
elections.
The loyalists especially former ministers and
governors during former administration of Jonathan
were said to
be visiting different state chapters of the PDP to
seek reconciliation among aggrieved PDP
members.
It was was gathered that Jonathan’s men were
working under the auspices of the Ministers’ Forum
(MF), comprising former governors, former
ministers and
PDP stalwarts.
Lamido confirmed that they were going round PDP
states to reconcile aggrieved members and unify
the party for future elections.
“PDP is the only party that can keep Nigeria United
because the party is in every house, community and
state. Our mission in Bayelsa was very successful”,
he said.
Jonathan who was recently begged by some
northern youths in Sokoto to return as President
had also hinted that he wasn't done with politics yet
which proves right the speculation that he may still
be interested in contesting the 2019 presidential
election.
Meanwhile it is unclear how the planned merger of
the Makarfi faction of PDP with some aggrieved
members of the APC by March 2017 may threaten
the unity of the party as well as its chances of
winning the 2019 presidential poll with the
rumoured entrance of former Vice President Atiku
Abubakar and his undying presidential ambition.

PoliticsI Dare Wike To Make The Video Public - Rivers Police Commissioner by Upritman(op): 2:28pm On Nov 29, 2016
The Rivers State Police Commissioner, Francis Mobolaji Odesanya has challenged the State Governor, Barr.Nyesom Wike to keep to his threat and make a video footage he claims he has public.

The Commissioner who spoke through the Command's Spokesperson, DSP Omoni Nnamdi, frowned at the sad trend by the governor who has recently taken to blackmailing personalities and institutions of government for cheap political gains. DSP Nnamdi while reacting to the allegation said, "It is sad that the state governor has chosen to drag the Commissioner's name into his politics. The Police remains true to its constitutional mandate and apolitical. Police men do not vote during election duties and they don't also carry weapons to polling units, so I wonder which role the police will play to rig elections in Rivers State.Considering the seriousness of the allegation, I challenge Gov.Wike to as a matter of urgent public interest make the said video involving the CP and APC leaders in a secret rigging meeting public."

The image maker of the Rivers State Police also reassured Rivers People of the command's readiness to provide accurate security before, during and after the December 10 concluding rerun legislative elections in the state.

VERSATILE REPORTERS recalls that Gov.Wike while flagging off the rehabilitation of the General Hospital, Abonnema in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area on Monday threatened that the state government will in the coming weeks release the audio -visual footages of the Rivers State Police Commissioner plotting with politicians on the methods to be adopted for the planned rigging of the December 10 rerun elections .
This latest accusation follows similar accusations by Gov.Wike in past few days against the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, the Minister of Transportation, Rt.Hon.Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, DG, NIMASA, Dr.Dakuku Peter side, Dr.Barinaadaa Mpigi and Senator Magnus Abe, APC Legislative Candidates from Rivers South-East.

Meanwhile political tension seems to have heightened in the state ahead of the rerun election scheduled for December 10, 2016.

A cross section of Portharcourt residents and indigenes who spoke with Versatile Reporters expressed fears that widespread violence may still characterise the rerun election just like previous elections held in the state. While some respondents cautioned the governor against making inflammatory statements, others said they will either travel out of the state or won't vote during the rerun elections.
