In December, 2005, Transcorp acquired 51% controlling stake in the Hilton Abuja for the sum of $105 million (equivalent at the time to N13.7billion) after a very competitive bid. The remaining 49% is owned by the Bureau of Public Enterprise (BPE)

Being a kid is not only a function of age. Your utterances, thought pattern and actions can depict you as a kid.

You talk like a clown. When did u start using the internet? From the womb I guess.

Impeachment is not the only way to remove a speaker. Consult the constitution, you'll find grounds in which a SP can vacate office. The court of law can also vacate the election of a SP that was not constitutionally carried out.
From your comment you talk like a kid with tantrums and bipolar. We are talking about the current SP which constitutionally he is not wanting in his legality as a senator. So who is being a clown. All this jambites that has opportunity to access internet. Just the fate that we are on the same forum doesn't make you talk to people like that. You can make your argument without insulting one. While I didn't respond to kids like you.

You are funny. Why can't you make your point without telling me what you think I know. Some of you kids on nairaland ascribe too much to yourselves. And it is called National Assembly and not 'National Assemble'.

My post was explicit enough, it was directed at the Deputy SP. Who told you its only impeachment that can be used to make a Deputy Senate President vacate seat.
That's for the correction away but calling me kids it's just out of line, because you didn't know anything about me. Probably when I stated using internet you were still in primary school. Back to the topic. The only constitutional means of removing the SP is through impeachment except you know other means which amount to witch hunting and blackmail to force him to resign.

I thank God you used google this time to get ur fates right. I said the opened up their economy in the 80s and now see were there are! The link you posted supported my claims. So who knows what he is saying? Plus read up. No country is an isolation you. Every country needs FDI.

Oga the is a public forum, when I said you should correct your typo,it has nothing to do with ego or otherwise, I only said that so that I can better understand your views an comprehend what you are talking about.
That said I thought I was dealing with someone with good knowledge about the subject matter, if what you wrote up there is what you believe, my I agree with you.I don't have to waste my data and time on this.
We are not talking of ego here. I have presented you with details its left for you to comprehend. I didn't write what I believed but the fates. Google is your friend didn't be lazy using it, if you were not privileged to come about the emergence of Chinese economy. Give me one point that I mentioned here that is not a verifiable fates. Unfantunately I didn't use mb but I didn't I didn't have the time to waste on you as well. Good luck with your limited knowledge. You were quick to outline my typos but defensive when I mentioned your error as well.

ehmmmm bros, please modify all the typo error on your post before you accuse someone of having low IQ,1st the stock exchange is not money market, you can use Google to help yourself on that,China in the 80s is the foundation of today's China, i won't deviate from the main issue which is the stock market is not necessary the mirror of the economy some countries do not have strong exchange it does not mean their economy is bad,in terms of currency value it depends on where you stand a strong currency might be go for you if you import everything like we do and it might be bad for you if you produce and export, the main thing is finding an equilibrium and balance your budget. Enough said bro.
I may have typo error because I was in a rush the moment I posted that comment. Now that you are talking about typos. Please go through your post and correct your Punctuations. On the issue, you need to go read about Chinese history. You they locked out foreign investors and the economy crushed. The have to open it open in the late 80s with all kinds of benefits to attract FDI. China has to give companies 10 years tax free, promised not to allow trade unions and sanctions. They promised companies that workers wages will not be increased and never to sanction them on environmental degradation. That is why virtually all the companies in the world moved to China for production. So bro you know nothing about China. And next time you want to correct someone on typos make sure you check your post.

I said they were heads of customs. Whether they were called 'administrator' or even managing director of customs is irrelevant. They were the chief executive and performed fully the duties of the comptroller-general during their tenure. Or are you saying that there was parallel comptroller-general concurrently during their tenure?
.

In any case, I didn't say it was ideal or support the idea in my initial post. I was only clarifying for the person I quoted who said there was no precedence for such appointment.
Actually the name makes a great difference. You can make your research on that. Didn't tell me there is no difference between a head of state, president and military ruler.

What cost will the government save by closing down their cooperate offices in other country. Most people saying supported are in Nigeria. If you are outside Nigeria pray not to be in a deplomatic flor. Ask Nigerians in Libya what the experienced when the crisis was going on. Because I believe the will call on countries like Libya to be closed down. Imagine what will happen if the embassy was closed down.

Under IBB, Haliru (the former PDP chair) was head of customs and he was not a custom man. Under Abacha in 1993-1998, brigadier Ango was head of customs. Federal road safety and civil defence had always had outsiders as heads except the current ones.
Point of correction the we're not controller general of customs. The served as administrator of customs. It's a different situation my dear.

This is one of the great achievements of Buhari, I pray every other state follow suite. I want a Nigeria I can boost about anywhere. What disturbs me the most is some "wailing water" like SeveredSnake, Pa Shukwudi and others who play opposition like Chicken looking for cockroaches to eat.

Whoever is praying for Buhari to fail would be a failure+his generation. A better Nigeria won't benefit the North only, but the whole Nigeria. Please let's join hands to make this nation great again.
Actually you didn't need to curse anyone for their personal view. And to think of it, this is not PMB legacy. This was Ngozi and CBN idea under GEJ. Get your facts right.

Gej= southerners 27 northerners 13
Buhari= northerners 24 southerners 13.
I didn't understand the rational of your argument. When has nigeria been divided by south and north. Even if you use the old system it still remains west north and eastern Nigeria. And when you use the six geographic location we know the answer. Now compare GEJ appointments using this two system not not south and north.

Hey peeps, I just got an info from a very reliable and impeccable source that PMB is only keeping us on suspense. Come September 2015 the ministerial list will be balanced, it will be made up of all tribes hausa, yoruba, IBO and other tribes. So the wailing wailers should stop wailing. .
That is not balancing of govt because the constitution made it clear that every state must have one person appointed as minister or minister of state. Get your facts right.

I had my own share on dec when I was around for the Xmas. I was due to travel the next day, so in order to rest I gave my cousin my car to help get some food since I was staying in a hotel for the night. My cousin called me after 5 mins that he was been hold by the SARS in owerri. The funny thing was my begs are still in the car as I have not checked in and the arrested my cousin just in front of the hotel. The asked him for his license and he gave them but the name on his license and the car is not matching. They wanted me to identify the car. I was holding my passport and the car is on my name. To my surprise this men was head bent to go to the station. I agreed to go with them not knowing their trick. We got there the arrested my cousin and my car and refused to arrest me because they know we're the money will come from. I was so messed up because I can't call any lawyer as it's now around 11 pm. My flight to Abuja inbound California is by 2 the next day. The asked me to pay 400k or the will waste my time and make life hard for me. I ended up giving them 80k all the cash I have with me. I slept in the car at the police station as I didn't have cash with me to book a new hotel and the next day I just left. Someone gave me money to buy pms and I refunded when I got to my base. The killing was done in my presence. The brought one guy out and everyone was pitying him. I leant the shot his that night as he has no money to bill himself. I asked one police guy of that is not extra judicial killing and his response was who cares.

I have an inlaw, a petroleum engr who works with shell, he's married to my cousin who is a medical doc. They have two daughters. Both girls of abt 17 and 19 are studying engineering and medicine in various varsities in nigeria. There's hardly any part of the globe these chaps have not been to! They fly two four!! Even if the journey is between two adjoining states, as far as the places have landing space for aircrafts. Their mom particularly, a resident un health staff in nigeria, is a workaholic who trots the globe with uncommon ease for work and for fun. I first saw an ipad in the kids hands way back before I made a move to procure same for my wife many years later! I personally consider these folks AJEBO to the core!! The only problem I have is that the girls drink garri so much. They can trade anything for halve a cup of garri. Wtf!!!
I understand you bro. The point by the op is she should have been pride of her vomit. If she was pride of it maybe we could have considered the gerri and nuts to be the problem.

eeeh Oga stop there...and yes av being to China before...you talk about DFIs like they come from Mars or Venus, what the percentage of DFIs compare to the GNI of America not to talk of the GDP?The Chinese economy was closed till mid 80s when western firms start rushing there because of cheap labour, Japan closed it's economy for most part of the 19th century that didn't stop it from being industrialised, Oga don't go there cos am in a happy mood now, trust me when I tell you you are better off playing lotto than wasting your money on the stock exchange, its a fraud and am not talking about just NSE,even the NYSE they are all fraud, paper speculation on current and future performance of a company.
I am also not in the mood to argue with you because I can see the level of you IQ talking about money market the way you did. I am happy you mention that China closed their economy until the late 80s. Compare the China of late 80s and the current China. It's your personal opinion to think money market is fraud. But it centers on all human endeavors. You can't talk about GDP without a strong money market. You think it doesn't affect you but Naira is devalued everyday.

Just two months and you guys are crying? Smh,the stock market is just a big fraud nothing else, those Guys can always blame everything on anything and anyone once they are doing badly, foreign Investments is not the key to economical development, no foreigners developed the US economy now British, Japan or China,Foreign investors only go where they can maximise profit not necessarily develop an economy, the stock market should be what it is where you buy stocks, shares and trade,it does not indicate our economy profile.
I understand that you do not know what you are talking about. Do you know that currently DFI in united state alone is around 70%. China is going close to 90% I didn't want to talk about UK and the Middle East. What do you think drives the economy. Once the government gives enabling environment DFI increases and their is growth. If DFI is not what brings growth why is your government begging for it. There is no first world country that was not built on foreign investment.
China you mentioned. Have you been to China before. All the investments there are owned by foreigners for economic reason. If they should pull out of there do you know what happens to Chinese economy.

After reading some comments here. I am surprised at how Nigerians think. Especially the so called educated ones. Fiscal police is needed to drive an economy. Every nation needs DFI ( Direct foreign investment ) to move forward. you dream of growing and becoming a strong nation like China and yet u think its be being e warrior.
Like someone said here. The money lost may not be recovered in three to ten years time.
I understand some people never know the value of money markets, all the know is oil money and government payout. But didn't forget that majority of the work force in Nigeria is provided by private enterprise. Whom do you think owns those company? This government lacks policy direction and it's affecting millions of Nigerians. I personally have been affected because the DFI I have been working for years to bring to Nigeria is currently heading to Ghana. Why do you think so. As for me and my works. I am still getting my pay but wouldn't you have imagined it coming to Nigeria and providing jobs for the local. Investors read, analysis politics and they never wants to loss their investments. This is not a kitchen government. You didn't move on your pace you move with the flow especially when it comes to matter of economy. No one is waiting for you. A case study Brazil.
