Moreover I think there should be a section for unbelievable stories/ supernatural tales or point blank myths on NL.
this is where such dumb stories as this belong.
Crime › Re: I Killed My Dad, Mum, 3 Siblings, Son Of Slain Sss Official Confesses by usbcable(m): 6:30pm On Sep 16, 2010
Just as most of us pointed out yesterday, the police hardly does any thorough preliminary forensics into most cases.
they had initially advocated assasination meanwhile (if what the boy said true) it could have been a case of homicide.
even at that there seems to be some flaws in the guys statements.and you dont need to be a detective to see them.the boy may just be confessing for some ulterior motives and may necessarily not be forced by the NPF. But trust the Nigerian Police once a suspect confesses to a crime its equals to case solved and it sometimes maybe false confessions.
they are just lazy assed men in black wit difficulty in thinking deep to solve crime cases.

If anyone of us is asked to tell us about their dads, mums, bros, sis, or grannies.
we will outline many positive characteristics of them.We wont make it seem they are also part of the larger society in which they also have one form of vice they perpetuate.
If anyone of us is doing an interview we would never start saying any of our bad habits no matter how little.
So for ourselves sake, I feel we should showcase good things even if be the picture of us.
Politics › Re: Show Your Nigeria To The World By Cnn Ireport by usbcable(m): 4:43am On Sep 16, 2010
They say show what you want the world to see.
All of you guys wanting to paste bad images, think twice.
All the bad things being perpetuated by Nigerians both within and outside the country, how does it affect you, surely its negatively. But that dont mean that you as an individual is like them bad representatives.
So now heres a chance for you to tell the world that within this corrupt enclave of Nigeria there exists someone that is good, someone that is different, someone that is not like what most Nigerians are perceived to be i.e. a ideal human being.
If you cant tell the world about something good about yourself then never expect BBC or NBC or FOX t.v. or CNN to do it for you.

Crime › Re: Sss Officer, Wife, 3 Kids Slaughtered In Kano by usbcable(m): 9:06am On Sep 15, 2010
Evil Brain:
It seems that the police have once again jumped to conclusions. Just because nothing was taken from the house doesn't mean the perpetrator(s) were hired assassins. I could just as easily be a family matter gone out of control. And there doesn't seem to be anything to suggest that the killings had anything to do with Garba Bello's work with the SSS.

Further more, the manner of the killings and the fact that they also killed the children strongly suggests a crime of passion. When was the last time you heard of hired killers strangling people? It's not as if guns and cutlasses are scarce in Nigeria. Hired killers generally want to do the job and get out as quickly as possible and strangling five people including three children just seems slow and inefficient.

The fact is we won't have any idea what really happened until the two surviving children are interviewed which according to the coverage on 234next.com, the police were yet to do when they started issuing public statements. I don't understand why they can't just keep their mouths shut until they have all the facts. And Mohammed Gana is a senior officer, He really should know better

It seems like our NPF are already doing their best to bungle this case like they have countless others. Lets hope they don't succeed.
abeg change your name to genius brain,
I often tend to wonder what they teach our police in police college, maybe they teach them how to be dumb with simple cases.I doubt if their teachers have ever watch CSI and other crime and investigation sitcoms/series.
I have never heard of them concluding an investigation and be able to convince Nigerians with their findings/evidences for their conclusions.
Even if our education system is soooooooooooo bad it dont mean that their brains should be soooooooooo dumb and blank as to do simple deductions and follow basic logic and not just always display utmost stupidity to the public.
I still wonder how we gonna have a reasonable election with this bunch of indolent and insolent police force.

true things are spirally fast beyond anticipation but lets see:
what is really the Issue,
the center / mosque in the center / the 9-11 bombers / Islam
IMO the main cause of tension is the 2001 incident i.e. the 9-11 bombings and not the others.
One thing people should realise is that muslims as well died in the september 11 incident.

and about trump buying the building, its not from the muslms the purchase should be made but from the owners of the estate.and they are not  ready to sell to him either.
even selling it to trump sends the signal of a ''money-centric'' company / transaction.

and moving the centre to another county(even state) wont change the perspective of those calling for its movement .
reindeer:
hiya!
you sound reasonable.
My own prob is this, the imam wished he knew. . .
now he knows, isnt there anything he can do?like move it to another county?hmm?and still call it community center?even with a joint worship hall?
If indeed he is that sorry, it shouldnt be hard to sell it to trump!

which record?? He is not the first to complete a career slam
he defeated Novak Djokovic 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 which gives Nadal the career Grand Slam, and make him the first man to win the French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open in the same year since Rod Laver in 1969. Nadal and Mats Wilander are the only male players to win at least two Grand Slams each on clay, grass, and hardcourts in their careers, and Nadal stands alone as the only male in history to win Grand Slams on three different surfaces in a single year.

Grand slam records
-Rafael Nadal is now the youngest player in the Open Era & third overall, at just 24, to complete a career Grand Slam
-Nadal joins Aussie legend Rod Laver as the only left-handers to win all four Grand Slams
-Winner of 24 consecutive Grand Slam sets in the year 2008 & 2010
-Lost only six sets in winning the three titles namely French Open, Wimbledon & US Open in 2010

there you have it.
hope it satisfies your question.

BTW,
i had created a thread on this issue before now but it was expunged by the moderator. Clearly another show of intolerance and fear of what really is.
Later on NL and its mgt would claim a non-dictatorial tendency to some issues.
na wa oh. At least them finally put am on front page, which ought to have been what they should do. Kudos to you on that.
Christianity Etc › Re: Quran Burning Cancel by usbcable(m): 10:37pm On Sep 13, 2010
Going through all the posts and reactions all I can see is that the level of divide and ''intolerance'' of each and one another from all camps is so great.
The Imam&his congregation had a motive, which I see as reasonable, for wanting to build the centre not on ground zero particularly(as misunderstood by many) but some blocks away.Unfortunately, as he also acknowledged the whole situation has been hijacked by fanatics from all sides of the divide.Even here on NL you see ppl bleeping hateful comments about each other.
Muhammad (s.a.w.) admonishes muslims not to destroy nor abuse religious symbols of other religions(not only xtianity but other religions) lest they do same to you.
I was at i'tikaf and a brother commented that even if the unreasonable'' jones burns the qur'an it dont diminish its status with muslims but its a show of disrespect to what someelse holds ''sacred''.And truth is anything held sacred is as important as life itself.
Even Imam Rauf noted that if they knew their motive would be soo misinterpreted and worst of all hijacked for ulterior motives by religious opportunists they might have reconsidered the location.

I am a muslim and ma'sha Allah I shall die as one. I believe if handled carefully the centre would foster greater understanding of what Islam and Muslims stand for and not what some fanatical zealot (including the media) makes most people think it is.

STOP THE HATE SPREAD THE MESSAGE.

your first statement(I dont like Nadal) definately tells it all.
About the muscles, what do you say about del potro or monfils or the Williams.
About the recovery, what do you say to his not defending his wimbledon title last year due this same injury.
About the tantrums, well since you dont like him I guess you would hate his speaking spanish on court too which of course is not same as speaking in toungues/tantrums. BTW, who would be all smiles when you are loosing. Even you will feel angry at yourself.

In his story, he said that there is no power in mohammed unlike christains who always pray in the name Jesus and sumtin remarkable happens. But it is not so among the muslims, who profess mohammed and do not believe in him.
#muslims believe in Muhammad(s.a.w) and DO NOT worship Muhammad(s.a.w)
#muslims believe all POWER belong to the supreme creator and NEITHER Muhammad(s.a.w) nor Jesus(a.s.w)
donyfrank:
Instead they conjure all sorts charms around every corner of there houses.
Then from my own observation, i found out that in most of this home movies it is either 4rm babalawo to church and never to mosque.
#in the english nollywood films are the actors acting the roles of muslims when they go to dibias(NO).they are ''BAD christians'' masking as faithful ones to perpetuate evil. So if your Muslims friend's family/friend use charms does that make it a general xteristics of muslims.(NO)
BTW,
if you join a faith for the sole aim of fortune/miracle and not due to true conviction, it wont take much effort to jump ship later. Because no Situation lasts forever.

Assalamu alaikum my fellow muslim faithfuls. Pls i'm kind off confused on this date thing due to the calendar, so if i may ask what day is today? I mean 2, What
the islamic date is 26th of Ramadan
but todays evening starting from dusk(around 7pm) marks the entrance of the 27th day of Ramadan.
this is so because the islamic date starts from the night to day unlike the gregorian calendar which is day to night.
so today which is the 5th of September has its afternoon as the 26th of Ramadan and its night as the 27th of Ramadan.
I hope all I said makes sense to you.

While watching the minister for health speak on t.v., that they had warned these states in question. I waited with earnestly to hear him mention modalities his ministry had put in place as both preventive and reactive measures. All he mentioned was something about building dams or something which dint really make meaning to me.
all these states are not acting proactively now, it is after one recorded case the now turn into commandoes in action. What a pity.

it makes more sense to use their SSCE/WAEC certificates that have photographs on them.
