Ibime: What do you expect when you watch English commentaries?
If you could speak Italian, what do you think Italian commentators say about their players?
What do you think Brilla FM guys are saying about Anayo Iwuala?
That's how when I was a kid, one of my adult neighbour claimed Super Eagles will win 1994 World Cup if only John Salako and John Fashanu will join the team, and I believed him. Actually not that much. It's more of an English thing (The bias I mean). I also listen to french commentaries at times and they are more about the passion and excitement of the game To be fair I think the massive media deals in England and publicity has a part to play in this. |

swiz123: Rubbish!!! He doesn't posses the requisite skill of a professional footballer..... His abilities appeal to people like dostan who understands little about football I'll be honest. I'm in a conundrum with the guy. His pace is magical when fully utilized. At the same time, I wonder if he's worth all the misses. I'll be on the lookout for him next season. I still think there's something we can get out of him |

Ibime: You can say they are overpriced which is normal due to English factor and filling homebased slot carrying a premium. What you cannot say is they are overhyped.
A lot of highly valued trash came to EPL but their price tag was overlooked cos they are not English. I am talking Pepe, Felipe Anderson etc
When you pay more for an English player it's because you know 7 times out of 10, he will perform to a basic level unlike foreign players who may have settlement issues off the pitch or struggle with the pace of the English game Disagree. I think the hype is not commensurate to the talent. The media makes them look like Top players already when in reality they are just average and above-average players who have been so quickly branded as superstars or next superstars by the media. Where do you think the ridiculous price quotes are coming from? Pretty common with most coming up English players. I would never forget how no one really knew stones till Jose's interest and all of a sudden he's worth 50 milli Although I agree with u that there are new spring chickens with lots of promises. |

Unpopular Opinion. Werner going out allowed England fullbacks to start to bomb forward; even the CB's.
Noticed how they were holding back when he was on the pitch |

Ibime: You have Kroos and Goretzka in midfield, not Friday Elaho and Thompson Oliha, yet they were pushed back.
Is it not the same formation both teams played? Why would Declan and co have Kroos and Goretzka defending their half all game long while playing the same formation?
Give it up. Your hatred for English players is outdated. English boys are doing well now. Not really. Just a pushback from some of the hype and media razzmatazz which I genuinely dont see yet |

Ibime: What these sons of sedition don't understand is that English football has changed. Our academies are producing the best, that's why Chelsea youth teams dominate European competitions
Bundesliga clubs are dying for any English academy player now and they are going there and performing like top players straight from academy. Some of them return to EPL and can't even perform. I am talking Sancho, Bellingham, Reiss Nelson, Emile Smith-Rowe, Ademola Lookman, Jonjoe Kenny etc
Some of these players will be considered for German team based on their Bundesliga performance but won't smell England team.
See them talking down Declan Rice yet Declan put Germany midfield on backfoot. They did not consider that Bellingham who Declan is benching handsomely is burning down Bundesliga Germany dont play through the midfield. I dont see what the fuss is in Declan. Overhyped yet cant help but notice that his football intelligence on the field is just basic. Go on. Keep hyping the English players while some of us who dont see the game through the lens of a combative DM will keep slamming u with their realities P.S - Maguire won the MOTM |

BlueMann: James' case is a bit of a curious one. I remember last season, he was making waves mostly because of his attacking play, with his crossing ability in particular catching the eye. That was the period when the Beckham comparisons came up (comparisons strictly in terms of crossing). I remember how fans used to blast the attackers for failing to utilize the fantastic crosses/cutbacks James played into the box numerous times.
Then, what many people weren't convinced about was the defensive aspect of his game.
So what could've happened? The back passing is undeniably obvious, and a bit frustrating at times. But when he does attack, he is a joy to watch. And the defensive side of the game that used to generate doubts, is now one of his biggest strengths.
James has the tools to become one of the very best in the game. Forget hype. Last season, his attacking play made the headlines. This season, it's his defense. I think he needs to find a balance, as he's now proven that he can attack AND defend.
Again, some have highlighted his physique as a sort of an issue. First off, this dude is mad strong. But then again, it seems his size/mass makes it difficult for him to zip up and down he flanks. If that's the case, then it's definitely something he can work on.
Me I still maintain faith in James, though he needs to address some issues. In all honesty, The attacking thing you speak of; I never saw it. All I saw was James being pretty good at crosses. In terms of final moves (as a winger or wingback) in the box like a Marcelo, Alba, Hernandez, Alonso or even Carrasco, He is/was lacking. These things would have been easier to Ignore if he was an excellent defender which he's not as he suffers from lapse in judgement and can be a bit casual at times |

thorrvik55: Lol.. I'm guessing u were not here last season before Chelsea signed Havertz
He was hyped as a generational talent that would take the Premier League by storm by majority of the Chelsea fans here..
Havertz has not lived up to expectations, ppl expected more from him tbh. There is no doubt about the fact that he is talented. Just so u know, Havertz is the Club's record signing while Mount is an Academy boy that probably wouldn't have been considered for First team football if Frank Lampard was not appointed as Chelsea coach..
Ppl like Donstan that has turned to Havertz hater sef actively campaigned for Havertz signing.. Most of the so-called Havertz haters here do it cos of biased/unwarranted Mount criticism.
Imagine someone saying Mason Mount is not good enough to play for Chelsea.. Like, na back of TV the person dey watch? Can everyone at least have their own views. What is all this attack on contrary opinion?. |

Havertz10: and the agenda begins
You tried to force me to change the gauge from 21 to 22 I refused now you are using sentiments to argue
Havertz was in team of the season at 19, he lost out on player of the year not young player but player of the year to reus at 19 with less than 30 votes
He won the champions league at 21
He has gotten Ballon d'Or shouts from both inside and outside Germany
He was valued at 100m
Chased by all the top teams, not chase as gist, they approached his agents to discuss possible transfer
He was signed for 71m at 21
Havertz is not dele alli's level on any metric, rest with your agenda abeg Couldnt have said it better |

pocohantas: But it is annoying the way Nigerian men behave. A woman you have been married to since 2009. Even if her money isn’t inside, if she didn’t make the home conducive, you can’t do well at work. It is painful watching the man of your youth go about impregnating strange women while your life is on hold for the kids. It is more painful that the woman would still be blamed for the failed marriage. Let’s be fair to our spouses please- male and female alike.
You don’t want to marry again? Fine. Treat them with respect and fairness. At some point they had your back and if they wanted you dead, you’ll be long gone. What kind of sinister thought is this. Where's it coming from? |

Havertz10: User09
I read an article today about haaland wage demands and how it will affect our team cause players will be seeking wage increase
Having 2nd thoughts now, maybe it's not a good idea, its going to affect us, see how Sanchez wage led to pogba and de gea wage hikes Yeah...The ripple effect is likely to be massive. There's a lot of rumours saying Abraham isnt signing cos he expects similar wages to CHO. Seeing as we have a lot of young players. I dont think it's a good example to lay For every good season, We'll also likely increase Haaland's wages, then that Raiola dude....all around disaster |

Havertz10: it's self explanatory na, chance quality vs chances created
I didn't make it, got it from a Twitter user that was also trying to explain why he produces few assist compared to the number of chances he creates, they fetched the data from rfef or something like that Fbref. I've seen and have a whole lot of such metric against Mount but for the sake of decorum here I dont bring it up. Some of us are still not convinced no matter how he gets shoved down our throat |
