nigerians select their neighbors from those in their tribe, same religion/denomination etc....i m nt sure Jesus whom we xtians profess to worship had these in mind when he gave the parable of the good samaritan........shameful but true......

freecocoa: Does one have to eat together with a neighbor before e go mean say there's love between them? If you want to see children running around and housewives doing amebo go to the ghettos, the people in highbrow areas are a bit busy chasing money and forming butty so they practically have no time for such, they usually do their own form of showing love and high class gossip at their cocktail parties.

Yinkuche: Sin is sin and fornication is fornication; weather you collected money for it, or you do it free it carries the same penalty, if death meets you un-repented. There is however a catch to this one, which repentance alone cannot solve; in that it does not just involve fulfilling the lust of the flesh.

What do you think this Japanese man paid £500,000 for? definitely not just to gratify his flesh, there are a lot of options for that. What he paid for was what he needed; her destiny. She on the other hand, not having spiritual understanding sold it happily thinking she sold virginity.

Remember the 3 wise men that came to give Jesus gift when he was born?
They were astrologers, they saw Jesus star ahead of others (Mat 2:1-11). Imagine what would have happened if somebody had bought Jesus' destiny! God will never trust you with anything important to him if he knows you can trade it for a pot of porridge.

For as many of us, children of God that read this news and rejoiced in it, please there is need to ask God for forgiveness so as not to partake in the earthly curse this girl has brought upon herself and her linage by squandering her God given destiny.

God bless you.

icon aus: Hausas and yorubas contributed immensely to the down fall of nigeria . 45yrs of misrule in nigeria has put us in this mess. igbos are isolated from federal govt and they focused on private biz and development of nigeria and people like u yorubas are jealous about it. North and west failed nigeria woefully while igbo champion development in nigeria. where is the dividend of free education the west had in nigeria? nothing to show for it except tribalism and back stabbing other fellow nigerians

thegenie: I'm amazed when I see people who are supposed to be educated and above tribalism / racism going so low. I am Niger-deltan. My best friend is Ibo, my sweetheart is Yoruba. I have a VERY good close friend from Kano. According to Tunde Obe (of Charlie Boy's ZOOM TIME fame), there are only two tribes: 1) Good people, and 2) Bad people.

Geography don't define the essence of any man. The same Nigerians feeling racially superior feel the most offence when an Indian or Chinese exhibits racial superiority tendencies towards him / her. That's hypocrisy. The fact that we are mostly anonymous here isn't license to discard our sensibilities. Genetic science has proven that human-kind is 99.99% (or thereabouts) similar. The good, the bad and the ugly cut across all geographies!!

Cokeroo: You must be living in some Utopian fantasy land to think we(Yoruba) are so special. How special can u be when u allow one man to hand pick candidates for all the elective positions in an entire region and you still vote for them! A man we all know has a fake certificate, stole and continues to steal massive amounts of money from the commonwealth. Which performance? Lagos is a massive slum and so are most of the cities in the south west. ACN has been in power long enough to make an impact. What impact have they made? non. Like PDP, nothing special has happened. It's business has usual but under the supervision of a very greedy ojuyobo and co. ACN is worse than PDP. PDP don't pretend to be holy or hide under anybody's(AWO) shadow/philosophy to perpetuate themselves in power. In short, they (PDP/ACN) are all criminals who should be in jail. Also, these other tribes whom you are insulting have played a huge role in the development of the s/w and deserve some respect. Not you spewing invectives and balderdash here. Keyboard warrior....
. 9ce 1 bro though I disagree wid ur lagos comments....in my opinion lagos is hw it s because of d failure of almost all governors in making their states 'work'...every graduate, jobless person,skilled/unskilled labourer wakes up 1 morning and wantz to come to lagos to husslee.e.g my state imo state has 4 federal institutions I.e futo, imsu, fedpolynekede and alvan and we produce tens of thousands of graduatesut of which 70% will end up lukn for job..hausas come in2 lagos in droves crashn wid their fellow aboki/mallam and soon later pick up a bike and start hussling their way thru..lagos s overpopulated....lagos s choked up and if any of the other 36govs Were to be in charge of lasgidi,we 4 seriously h hear am....imagine a Theodore orji/wammakko/(all examples)as the governor of lag and u start to get d picture..fashola in my opinion contends wwith factors that none of d 36govs will ever face...

Desola: You are judging me based on observation; a trend as you have adduced but you were quick to conclude that I am a diasporan even though you have no cogent proof? Until you can prove beyond reasonable doubt, then your assertion remains a fallacy.

As per your thesis on what constitutes a diasporan, I couldn't help but chuckle because I see a trait that I see in most ibo people which is that they know virtually nothing but open their mouths without engaging their brains and spew absolute crap! Am I right in my observation of the ibos?

hi, was hanging out in my school cafeteria with an Irish friend of mine when at the table nearby, two naija students started on 'ENYA' and how her music was demonic, satanic bla bla bla....we joined the discussion with the naija guyz and seriously it took all my efforts from me to restrain my irish friend from tackling the naija boyz (he's a serious catholic by the way and coincidentally from the same town with enya)...lol...he also said @ the local cathedral in d town she always performs christmas/new year's celebration with the church cho...on my own part i never knew that people had never thought of her music as satanic...she s one of my favorite artists and i know some of her lyrics by heart...i also feel people should research into issues before coming into conclusions...from wikipedia, enya speaks close to nine languages, plays more than ten musical instruments, went to a music and arts school and has even performed for the pope and even the queen..what i feel is that people dont know that all her songs arent in English and they come to conclude that since they dont understand it, then its trash....people,please whatz ur opinion on thishuh

below are the lyrics for the song titled "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel"
O come, O come, Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free
Thine own from Satan's tyranny
From depths of Hell Thy people save
And give them victory o'er the grave
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Day-Spring, come and cheer
Our spirits by Thine advent here
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And death's dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Key of David, come,
And open wide our heavenly home;
Make safe the way that leads on high,
And close the path to misery.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, O come, Thou Lord of might,
Who to Thy tribes, on Sinai's height,
In ancient times did'st give the Law,
In cloud, and majesty and awe.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

uzoexcel: the dude is right.....it doesnt make sense in this country to read anyhow course like microbiology, horticulture, guidance and counselling, polymer and textiles etc....this are very good courses elsewhere but in naija u v to give urself a fighting chance as it gets worse everyday....there are also things like scholarships and other benefits that accrue to one who studies a professional course....thruout my studies in naija and now abroad,i v alwayz been on scholarship that came about as a result of my course of choice(not that i was too good but i was always selected to write exams).....i also made sure my younger ones followed suit...e.g one of my siblings wrote jamb for UNN several years ago and we chose for him english language as we wanted him to enter university before switching (if we had chosen law for him he might not have made the cut off mark).the plan was for him to enter the university and rewrite jamb again for law department having studied and known what it entailed in his first year...after his year one though he made a first class and applied to switch to law department but was told to go back a year in law which he gladly did (itz not how fast but how well)..he already has double advantage of having done some courses and understanding the system....for the scholarship thingy, when u see adverts from companies like MTN,total, ocean energy etc for both undergraduates and postgraduates students, itz usually for professional courses and not some of the others i mentioned above...Itz painful when someone reads a course like vet medicine(6 years) and u end up as a contract staff in a bank with some1 who read marketing in a nearby poly(i m nt casting aspersions;hope u get my drift) and u r both having d same potfolios angry angry angry... in naija to survive especially for graduates who dont v any biz sense like me,u have to start early...think geometrically i.e 15 steps ahead....if u r on Industrial training start ass-kissing ur bosses in a way that you can be called back when u graduate...make sure you NYSC in Lagos(and forget the myth about serving ur country)...IF U IN LAGOS U V ACCESS TO INFO,U CAN RUN COURSES IN UR one year (forget that nonsense NIM) WHICH WILL MAKE YOU A MORE ROUNDED person....best of luck

psst;2 thinggs...sorry for the typos/case mix up as i m in d library using a friends' system and the second thing is MAKE SURE YOU COME OUT WITH A 2:1 and not 2:2...if u get to ur 3rd year and u know you cant make it itz better you go back a year, or rewrite jamb/switch courses;thatz if d money s available......this is important and i m sure u hear stories from guyz with 2:2 (doesnt mean they arent gud but naija no make sense)
also it also pays to v good focus....my first job after youth service came in a FMCG company who payed me a paltry sum of 32k and it was a mondays to sundays thingy; i was a technical/process support engineer there....i worked that job for 1 year despite insults/strokings from people but i made sure i learnt well and for me i wanted to v a multinational firm on my cv however bad the pay was...i got offers to join firstbank graduate trainee and also kpmg but as Tax auditor but i maintained my job...those offers wouldav derailed me from ma path......after studying elect/elect engr and with a 2:1, and also giving up d sacrifices to jack my life out in school..no oh..i hear thnz from my engr excoursemates who say they want to work in a bank some few years and then go back to their field but this s really nigh impossible;once u there,u there.itz a kinda trap...even if u leave after 5 years u cant apply for a job of a management trainee as u will be too old and u cant also apply for a job as an expereinced engr as u dont have any and so u r sucked into the system...i got another job wid a chinese telecoms firm who wanted an experienced person but i was able to show the chinese people during the interview the skills i could bring to them as a technical person and i was one of the 5 people selected from 50people in total who had more experience.......so people package urself properly and also know that no where is too small too start in life...best of luck pal wink wink wink wink wink wink
