Politics › Re: Soyinka: Boko-Haram's Knowledge Of Islam Is Limited by Vado(m): 7:55pm On Mar 26, 2013
freakyamanda: The truth is that for every violent muslim, there are several peaceful muslims. Even though there is violence in many muslim nations, like afghanistan, iraq etc, there is also peace in other islamic nations like dubai, qatar, malaysia and turkey. The hypocrisy of many christians is just stunning. I am a christian and I will see the fact and speak it anywhere I go. Most of the violence is politically motivated and anyone either christian or muslim sees it easy to justify his evil actions by religion because that is how he can whip up sentiments among his own people. the problem is that many moslems are uneducated and so are largely ignorant while many christians have education because of the western legacy. What we should focus on is to try and educate more moslems about life, including their religion rather than fanning the flames of war. Powerful people on both sides are scheming to perpetrate themselves in power by casting the other religion as evil. Wake up my people. Islam is not synonymous with evil and it will never be. Christians have also commited evil in their history. Check the holocaust and the crusades. It is the moral responsibility of people with conscience to identify good or evil wherever they see it and say it as it is, not defining everything in terms of religion.

If you still think Islam is evil, then I forbid you to go to Dubai and other beautiful arab states.
Education isn't the problem mademoiselle. Infact, most of the most wanted terrorists and islamic fundamentalists globally are well-educated. It's even far more dangerous when you mix education+ religious-extemism. If few countries appear liberal with their policies towards infidels, it doesn't mean jack. Maybe others are just more passionate about fulfilling their religious obligations evident in the doctrines and wouldn't compromise such for what they see as western-inspired civilization. The problem is the root b, heck abdul muttalab had all the comforts and education so that isn't the issue, the foundation is a mess.

And you should know that the crusades were defensive wars to curtail the massive jihadi wars of expansion that was consuming europe at that time. There wouldn't have been such in the first place if islamists weren't violently taking over empires and other people's lands across europe. They got pushed to the war and had to fight back, what's the problem with that?
Politics › Re: Lagos To Deport 100 Chadians, Malians, Others by Vado(m): 4:32pm On Mar 26, 2013
It's like some people spewing thrash didn't get the part where the government said they would screen them & if found to be "illegal immigrants" would be escorted back to their country of origin. If you want to live in lagos or nigeria in general, acquire the necessary documents. This is simple sh.it.

R.i.p to Chinua Achebe. May his soul find peace in the next world. This is no time for tribal bashing. Even as a yoruba guy, this man contributed his quota and was influential through his literary works on our academic pursuits. He should be celebrated. Sincere condolences to his family and our Igbo brothers as a whole.
Politics › Re: Boko-Haram Threatens To Kill Lt.Col Musa JTF Spokesman by Vado(m): 5:05pm On Mar 20, 2013
initiator: The solution now is to build a long wall across the boarder guarded by CCTV and sensors. Then cooperate with the US on drone surveillance and finally advise people to leave the Boko Haram stronghold for full frontal combat. In addition Nigeria just have to invade some neighbouring countries just like Kenya did to Somalia. The airforce has not been brought into this combat. It now has to. If we cannot take this battle to them then we have to begin the end of Nigeria as we know it because this North South thing is so contrived and may just not go far.

I suspect that between now and the end of next year the boko haram members would take over Bornu if there isn't full out confrontation.
1000 likes. It's not exactly a rocket science but I doubt if such action would be taken. Our land borders are so porous and I can't recall when last jtf siezed illegal arms transported through these routes. Desperate times call for desperate measures and for a country like ours, I see no reason why we can't close our borders for a week or 2 with countries habouring these retards, cage the ones upnorth in & exterminate them back to 635 A.D.

Yet some fools will come on here and say it's the schemes of the CIA. Persecution of other faiths (Christianity in particular) by Islamic fundamentalists has been there upnorth for decades. It doesn't matter if the name is boko haram or ansaru, their ideology is the same and their inspiration comes from the same barbaric source.

this is all their plan to distablize nigeria and start a war just like they have done in iraq, pakistan, afghanistan, libya, egyp, somalia etc.

Christianity Etc › Re: Cardinal Sodano Summons Cardinals To Rome by Vado(m): 11:26am On Mar 03, 2013
thelastPope: The bible right from the old testament was very explicit on bowing down to graven images. It is not negotiable. It is an abomination. God specificaly warned the Jews not to use any form of physical image to represent him. Any image used as a representation of God is an idol. God is a spirit and they that worship Him must worship him in spirit and in truth John 4.

Mary is not mother of God. He was mother of the man Jesus Christ on earth. There is nothing like mother of God in heaven. That is why Jesus refered to her as woman on the cross. the term mother of God is from the babylonian worship of nimrod and Semiramis also refered to as Baal and Ashteroth. Nimrod married his mother semiramis and proclaimed himself God. Semiramis proclaimed herself queen of heaven and mother of God. A title she was always refered to throughout history. The name changed as kingdoms overthrew kingdoms but the concept didn't change. During the roman empire's transformation to christianity, they introduced the same thing and Jesus became nimrod and Mary became semiramis. That is why they always use pictures of baby Jesus being cuddled by his mother mary. Jesus is not a little kid any more. He is king of kings and Lord of Lords.

Peter was never the bishop of rome. Peter never visited rome. Peter never preached to the gentiles. He was an apostle to the jews. Paul had to rebuke him once because he refused to eat with the gentiles. Paul was the apostle to the gentiles and was the one that took the gospel to rome and establish it there. Peter was the head of the believers in Jerusalem, not rome. So he could never have been the bishop of rome or the first pope.

This is not a critisicm. It is simply putting the records straight.
Thank you bro for educating them. God's explicit words of no graven images is so clear. Disobidience in that regard spells nothing but spiritual condemnation even it was meant to glorify or please Christ or Jehova himself.

I'm even more puzzled by the fact that even the catholic or any other church for that matter can't prove what Jesus or Mary actually looked like with all these images. They just mold a human with a meek-looking appearance and start bowing to such as a mark of respect. Good intention I must say but it's still idolatry because those things are made of mere mortals. Relationship with God through Jesus is spiritually based. All these images, symbolism like crucifix, rosary etc to me are off no importance to attaining spiritual righteousness.

Mary was a normal human like every other mothers out there. Her chasteness and the need for Christ to come in that era and in human form neccessitated her being chosen. This doesn't mean there are no women as pure as she was in this present day. If the first-coming of Christ was meant to be in this century for instance, another Mary would have been chosen to serve as a pathway.

And in re-enforcing what someone said earlier, the only church is the body of Christ which all born-again christians are parts of. Ain't nuffin like a mother church just as there's nothing like a mother-heaven or mini-hell.

Nairalanders I no like am o. Una know say islam na religion of peace nao. See how it has fashioned itself as a model globally and how relative peace/development can be seen in any country it's in the majority. No other religion promotes human right, dignity, and social freedom like islam. I heard muhammed just like every other biblical prophets performed awe-inspiring miracles to stamp his name as true indeed. He never slept with a 7yr old o nor did he killed innocent people during his quest of expansion. How dare you say the gains of righteousness in islam is 77 virgins and rivers of wine.

Make una stop painting islam in bad light jare. Infact, ayam contemplating converting from christianity to islam sef. Allah hu ak ba or how una dey talk am sef.

It's just a way of the government covering up their inadequacies and inability to provide jobs. Internship is what we should rather have that way everybody can further brush up their skills and acquired knowledge in establishments in line with their discipline but no, our leader live in self-denial and aint ready to do the right thing. The nysc in itself is a corrupt body for some people to amass wealth so they prefer the status quo. They say it's to promote unity but nysc members are endangered species like never before up north and it will only get worse.

Loool dude you funny. Inviting someone to your house for merriment is an extension of personal courtesy in politics. How do you equate that with building a public mosque with billions of naira? Show me the link to where saraki donated or built a church. Christians are being marginalised and made second-class citizens in that state. Admit it, that fact excites you and you love it. Two decades ago, many christians were in various government parastatals across the state and those institutions were functioning well. Point me to a significant position held by a christian in kwara today (and please don't say the deputy governor). What we have is islamic fundamentalists in virtually all ministries with nothing to show for it.
