It appears PDP played a fast one on APC and Ize-iyamu again. While PDP sold a dummy to them on likely running mate from one of the former aspirants from Edo Central, APC hurriedly picked a candidate from Etsako LGA, which is in Edo North. PDP and Obaseki now turned around to pick Shuaibu the current deputy governor.
The implication of above is that Edo Central that have not produced any governor and arguable the political bride in this election would have to wait another 8 years under APC but just 4 years under a PDP controlled Edo.
POI did well in Edo Central in 2016 because his running mate John Yakubu is from Edo Central. Now abandoning them to go north spells doom for APC in Edo Central.
Second point of note is the stigma of Godfatherism that Edo people strongly abhor. Even Oba"s statement on the matter is still reverberating the entire Edo State. Now to add the fact that Oshomole called Ize-iyamu several unprintable names adds pepper to an already bad pain. At one instance Oshomole called Ize-iyamu a cultist who was rusticated from Uniben because he killed a fellow student. At other fora same Oshomole told Edo people that Ize-iyamu was only good as a political tool but not reliable to hold a position of trust. A thief, fake pastor who is using church to cover. Oshomole even said Ize-iyamu who was Lucky Igbinedion's chief of staff and later secretary to state government was responsible for pillaging Edo resources under Lucky. So to an average Edo voter, how will same person come now to explain that what he said 4 years ago was a lie?
Lastly Obaseki/Shuaibu ticket have good grip on Edo APC structure even as we speak. The chairmen of all 192 APC wards, 24 LGAs and State Chairmen, Anslem Ojesua is Obaseki supporter. Leaving APC with men in APC T-Shirts but PDP heart. How Uze-Iyamu and APC will destry this structure still beats my imagination.
Though the national party structure of APC appears to be seemingly together, the state is still in tatters. The Edo People's Movement is just a faction of APC in Edo and us Not recognised. Leaving APC campaign under Ojesua and his men spells doom for APC. Any attempt to dissolve the current executives will lead to another round of legal tussle.

You rightly did well, very well in 2016 and 2020 would have won you governor of Edo. Contrary to widespread impression, a dispassionate analysis of recent political events surrounding Adams Oshiomole would reveal that his gains are more than his losses. Let's take a look.

A. If Gov. Godwin Obaseki had secured APC nomination for second term and eventually won Edo State governorship election, the following would have been the situation of Adams Oshiomole:

1. 'Promotion' from being a suspended member to an expelled member by his own village ward.
2. Loss of membership of APC.
3. Loss of his position as APC chairman.
4. Attainment of status of political pariah because there is no guarantee that Gov. Wike and Sen. Saraki would allow him near WADATA House.
Conclusion: Four losses, no gain.

B. With the current developments, the following capture Adams Oshiomole current situation:

1. He has his candidate Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as APC governorship candidate and has been able to repay the debt of support he owed him.
2. He is still a member of APC even if Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu fails to win governorship election.
3. He has lost APC chairman.
4. He still has a platform for future political aspiration, most likely Senate.
Conclusion: That's three gains and one loss

The truth is that Adams Oshiomole was driven by SELF-PRESERVATION. He fought for his political life. It is more like kill the 'snake' because if you don't, the 'snake' will kill you, anyway.

1. He lost Chairman of APC
2. Lost his APC membership as Ojesua led APC structure is still under Obaseki-Shuaibu control
3. He lost relevance in Edo politics. He will be booed at if he tries campaigning for Ize-Iyamu in Edo
4. He will be remembered as the only Chairman pulled down by a godson whom he tried to deny second term
5. Oshomole's supposed political sagacity and influence has been dymistified.
6. He now knows that EDO nobi Lagos.
7. He and his pushers are now idps (internally displaced politicians)
8. The 14 members of EDHA who followed him lost their seats as thier seats have been declared vacant by passage of time.

That story would have been different if he had humbled himself and allowed Obaseki contest when the man went with 4 governors to beg him.

The guy should face the consequence of his action. All he needed to do was resign instead of embarking on personal multiny the result of which is death. He knew he would be arrested so why shout foul. Even a private employer would arrest his staff who go about telling stories about him in public, talk more of armed forces.

Forget Tinubu and Osinbajo. They cannot get more than 5m votes nationally. Tinubu will get majority of SW votes, no doubt. Beyond that where else? In fact forget SW. APC cannot risk their 2019 gamble unless Buhari is in the ballot.

Buhari has chosen a successor. I will keep it secret. This successor has been with Buhari from his APP through ANPP , CPC days and APC. A trusted ally, quiet and a former governor. The only candidate for VP is who we do not know yet.
As for PDP, except Buhari changes gear on this successor, their 2023 project of Tambuwal/Wike may head nowhere as this successor would have North and Southern support. On your guess, please count so over ambitious godfathers out.
