I used www.moneysupermarket.com to guide me in my insurance search. Once you fill the required questions, you'd end up getting a quote from different insurance providers. I ended up paying about £90 for comprehensive insurance per month.

EJIOGBENIMI:

Can you please share the contact info of insurers that you’ve contacted?
I honestly need a good deal on car insurance.

Please gurus in the house, how much is the typical car insurance in London? The cheapest I've seen was about £700-800, but was told I can't access that since I have both UK provisional and Nigeria's international license (UK provisional trumps the Nigeria's international) and now, the prices are in the range of £1100-1300. Is this the normal price range?

Thanks

*I got the UK provisional license so I can begin the process of getting the UK full license. Seems that is not a good plan based on discussion with the insurance company agent I spoke with.

I am not sure you’d be able to pick for them based on my experience. Though I collected the brp on behalf of my children (as they didn’t follow me to the post office), I was requested to show the postal officer my children’s passport and she looked at the vignette and the entry stamp.

Didi14:
Hello Everyone, has any one ever picked their child’s brp for them without them being physically in Uk? I’ll appreciate a response. Thanks

Send an email to brpletterrequests@fcdo.gov.uk with details of your last dependent. They’d respond to your mail. I received mine 24 hours after sending the mail.

OPRI:
Good Morning House.I'm the MA & applied with 5 dependants for a student visa. We all did our bio 7th & 11th of October. Got the BRP mail on 18th & 19th for the MA & 4 other dependants. One was missing. The collection mails came in for the 5 came in on 21st & I have still not recieved the BRP mail for the last dependant.I was advised to wait for the 15 working days to elapse before escalating considering I was blessed to have our application (self service for standard visa application) processed within a short time frame. What do you advise I do? Do I escalate immediately via phone/ email or do the escalation at the point of collection at the VAC? Do I need to wait for the 15 working days to elapse before escalation?

Congratulations. Was there anything else you did to prompt the release of your passport? I’m still awaiting passport collection for my dependants despite decision being made since 21st September. I’ve already raised an escalation request.

Meogom:

@duchess90 and others
Finally got my collection mail today after so many troubles, but don't think I can go to Abuja for now, can my elder brother help pick it up? I already gave him that document we were given and an authorisation letter I printed from thier site, please what else will he have to go with. Please whoever has done this before should help. Thank you all

Send to brpletterrequests@fcdo.gov.uk

Include your GFW number, passport name, number, biometric date and center. You should get this after a few days.

spiceeamiee:
Good evening everyone. Please can someone help me post the link one can use to request for BRP slip? Passports were returned without BRP slips for dependents and it did not come in the email either. Tickets have been booked for Sunday so this needs to be sorted urgently. Please help @duchess90

You can pay for walk-in on the day of the biometrics. Well that’s what I did with my kids. Just go along with your atm card.

Iruobe1987:
Please people my dependants want to do walk in with me for biometrics, do we pay for the walk in on d day of d biometrics or before

Morning, at what point can UKVI escalate a matter? Decision was made 21st September, BRP letter obtained 27th September. I made a paid call last week, was told to call back on 5th Oct if I didn’t receive passport, so it can be escalated. I called back but now told it takes 10 days after BRP for UKVI to escalate the issue? Is this information accurate. Does anyone have any advice at the moment?

My dependant’s passport is DMC.

I ended up using MTN to make the call and it connected instantly.

Vavi:
Please I need the phone number to reach UKVI. The numbers on the website are not connecting. Or does anyone have an idea of how to ensure it connects - as I'm using Airtel to call.

Thanks for the response. Do you mean I, as the main applicant, pay 42k and the family comes along with me OR we all pay 42k each? I have seen appointment dates for all four of us on a single day, but just need to clarify as I'd want all applications to be processed together.

JPB2:

Book individual spots go separate days ... or u would pay 42k .... if u can get the same days better for you

I am trying to book for my 3 dependants and I, but on the TLS website, it says that for family groups, we'd need to pay for flexi which is 45k for each family member (45K*4). Has anyone used an alternative method, how did you go about it? Do I book individual slots and attend with my family? How do we get it merged as a family as the Main Applicant is applying for priority while dependants are applying for standard visa?

Please your candid help will be much appreciated.

There is no need for email. You can ask that your school address it "To Whom It may concern" and you'd upload it. There is a template of the letter on the NARIC website. However, during my search when I wanted to try this option, the only email address I was able to come across was "feedback@ecctis.com". Hope this helps!

Phelixblaq:
My institution is asking for Naric email to send the letter on my behalf. Please who has the email?

Your company should be able to offer some sponsorship for you and the money will be deduct from your salary over a period of time. You may want to discuss this with them. That seems a better and more cost effective option than changing your Naira to GBP. My two cents!!!

BrosMayowa:
My sponsoring coy has informed I will need to pay for the 3 year health insurance and visa fee. Does anybody know what exchange rate the UK home office will set? Do they typically use official or black market

And abeg, any passport plug here? Immigration no gree issue me my renewal since capturing on Jul 7th. My plug just dey disappoint person for this Ikoyi.

Hello house.
Does WES still mandate waec/neco as a required document? I intend evaluating just my msc. is it possible?
thanks
No you don't. WES does not require NECO/WAEC anymore. Your highest qualification, MSc, is the only document to be evaluated.

Hi All

I'm a newbie on this thread. Learnt a lot from you all.

I'm 31, married with 2/more degrees. I've written IELTS and gotten a 8.5,8,7.5,6.5 LRSW. Awaiting remark on the writing. If the remark plays out favourably, i will be at 460+.

I've imagined various scenarios using the CRS tool to attain 470+ but it requires that I have Canadian experience, have a Canadian sibling, a job or provincial nomination which I don't have. Elders in the house, how does one attain a 470+ score in this day?

The difference buying abroad (cot + shipping ) and buying in Nigeria is about 40k. If you are not due in the next 3 months, I will advise you ship as you can use the extra cash for other things

For those looking for accommodation, you can try oniru estate. It is not too far from pwc and it should be a 15-20minutes walk to pwc. It is a bit expensive but almost the same price as some places in dolphin. As a self contain costs around 400k. Just thought to share this. You can try that place too
