I wasn't talking about individual players
At individual level Africa has produced great players
But at team level nothing substantial
Not true, Nigeria and Ghana had made spectacular record at the junior team. Ghana won 2009 under 20 world cup. Even at senior level. In 2010, Ghana was only eliminated by Uruguay thru penalty shut out at quarter final.

Nigeria also has a good record too at junior level.

I was thinking bro, since Nigeria picked sides from day one; when we beat Tanzania today, that will be two for two for Kenya and Ghana... cool
in all honestly, i am not expecting much from the black star in this tournament. The body(GFA) actually went thru some scandalous saga when one investigative journalist exposed the fraud going on in that sector of recent . Ever since then, they are yet to get over it. black stars still need more time to be in good condition.

Not so true, you are looking at the senior team, even at that, africans as an individual has achieved a lot. We even have a former world best player as a sitting president of a nation.

Ghana president arrives in Egypt to cheer up black star.

The President for the Republic of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo is currently in Egypt to watch Ghana's first AFCON game against Benin later today.

Nana Akufo-Addo made a promise when he hosted the players and officials of the team at the Presidency before their departure to Dubai for the pre-tournament camping.

He said should Ghana qualify to the final, he would again be in Egypt to motivate the Black Stars to win the AFCON trophy which has eluded the nation for the past 37 years.

The President in the early hours of Tuesday held bilateral discussions with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, His Excellency Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, aimed at strengthening the ties of co-operation that exists between the two countries.

Nana Akufo-Addo is expected to be in Ismailia to watch the Black Stars take on the Squirrels of Benin at the Ismailia Sports Stadium later today.

Kick off is at 8pm

You would better need that. Statement was stupid.

Mine is very well. Quote your statement and justify it instead of doing personal attack.
Apparently you are more obtuse than i thought. You have to quote me twice just to repeat what seems to be difficult for you to understand.

East Asia which was epicenter of global growth in past decades and South & Southeast Asia who are becoming now have very low population growth rates. Africa has higher population growth rate (even large part of its GDP growth rate comes from population growth rate) while Asia has stagnant and even declining population even with poorest Asian countries outside greater middle east.
what are you saying? east Asia (particularly China has been known as most populated country in history and it has retain this position as far back as 2000 years. India too was not so much of a big deal. The current birth rate of India is 2.4 not much gap of difference from Nigeria with 3.2 growth rate. Africa largest country by population. Nigeria is currently about 2.6 of the world population while India is about 17.4 .

http://www.prb.org/

Market demand increases when living rise, market doesn't only lie inside country but exported too. Prosperity comes from stability, then free market, then diversification and most important factor is demography.
Not entirely true, China run a close economy during the cultural revolution of mao and she was sluggish opening up her economy. Some city like Shanghai were the the first to open up. And not all sector were open. China recently run fully open market not quite long age. And researcher have suggest China was able to run a successful close economy due to a larger size. Which will be impossible for a country like Togo to-do since she has a few population to stair up the economy. China will attribute her success rate to the base effect of her demographic boom during the close market.

Both declining and rising population are a threat to future of any country.
You have challenge. Every one know this and nobody is arguing about that. The only issue here is why demographic boom can easily be overturned and programmed properly to the benefit of the economy, the former is seriously and damaging to the sustainability of the growth of a nation. It is one of the reasons why most declining nation in population are experiencing sluggish economic growth.

I think I had asked you to study DEMOGRAPHIC TRANSITION MODEL. BUT YOU DIDN'T AND CALLING ME MAD??

Let me give you a clue, suppose two countries with same and stable population (say A & B).
Both have stable populations.
A: Low population growth rate
Low and same death rate (may be developed country)
B: High population growth rate
High and same death rate (may be a least developed country)

Once you start infesting facilities (say healthcare), population will jump suddenly in B as death rate falls. Population growth graph will form a paraboliv curve. Population will grow, stablise with awareness and will decline with falling fertility.

The median age of population determines how much skilled than can be, how much they can earn, how much they can consume and how much they can produce.
You are mad once again. Are you spoonfeeding an India like you here. In 2020, the average Indian will be 29 years old or Nigeria around 19 years compared that with an average age of 37 in China and the United States, 45 in Western Europe, and 48 in Japan. This simply demonsrate that there will be a large and growing labour force in India than above country yet unemployment rate keep rising in India from 5 percent to 7 percent rate. despite the econmy growth, india is Hardwick to fiill up unemployment holes. Since the growing working age are not SKILLFUL enough. India recently pull out of Pisa . Global education ranking which have continuously ranked India below . This is to show something is wrong with India EDUCATIONAl structure. Therefore , demographic dividend will only be an advantage on paper and if left un-utilized, it will sours into unbearable burden for the nation. Just like I said earlier, . But right choices of goverment in a populated country can transform balloon nation into a healthy, educated, empowered labor force. It is easier when such nation invested heavily on the critical sector ( health and education) This is what lifts people out of poverty in Japan, south Korea, China. We are taliking about the ability of government to invest more in child education and health care here. Doing this will be providing for a healthier cohort of working adults / with ready skills, ready to move into the economy’s expanding job market that primarily have a large populated advantage. You only benefit from demographic dividends when investment in critical sector are possible . Remember the base effect of a control population too. So a well grounded policy such as investment into above critical sector i made earlier will solve the pussle becuse it will create more entrepreneurial spirit minded population instead of job seeking population. Larger population with sophisticated idea have more entrepreneurial citizens than smaller nations. China , USA and south Korea. Even by absolute Nigeria as the largest populated black nation has more entrepreneurial individual than most of the sub Saharan black nations.

What grows nation are investment in critical sector. Demographic devinded is only an advantage on paper when right choices are not taking.

Read on internet yourself. And my humble advice to you, say what you KNOW about anything and not what you BELIEVE about anything. Making up things will only bring embarrassment to you.
You must be hyping yourself way above your reasoning. That advice actually is direct opinion you must take seriously. Don't pick nicketing, there are more chances that you might be subjective in your THOUGHT.

You are engaging me in argument with me in anger because I conducted a personal attack on you. But your argument was still foolish. You are defending undefendable and wrong by default.

Population growth doesn't increase market size in general. Increased circulation of money in country's economic system does because it increases purchasing power of people. This is called free market.
what is this madness?
This is called a free market. China benefit from her sheer size of her domestic markets during her close market perioud. She is so big enough to do so. Africa is not economically sustainable like Asia becuse it is not as integrated as Asia. Well, that story is about to change. By July 1 of this year. most Africans country are signing into a single trade zone. The market analyst predicted it to worth around 2 trillion dollar.

India has one of fastest growing markets since 1991. Africans moreover should be last people on planet to call Indians poor. We are poor as compared to countries we want to compete with, not against you.
Yet India economy growth is not filling up unemployment holes. Because of the same similar structure of governance is running alonside african state. Those who are benefiting are those who already have enoghh capital and assets, the free market economic model takes wealth from the poor and gives it to the rich. China system was able to outsmart this.

Poverty? We have different standards and we have finished those.
We will apply new ones from 2021 on.
https://worldpoverty.io/index.html

India invested very much needed with all its funds wherever it should and could. And that's why economy boomed since 90s.
India had the second lowest score rate of education standard in the entire south Asia. Not until when investment are largely direct to this sector, India will still remain where it is.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/wap.business-standard.com/article-amp/economy-policy/underinvesting-in-health-education-is-now-risking-india-s-economic-future-118092500110_1.html

How many times are you going to insult yourself? cheesycheesy

China curbed its population growth forcefully while Japan and Asian tigers ran awareness programs. All their populations are declining today. Seriously, what you are smoking?
Not just controlling the population growth alone but investing in the direct sector. Even if China China curb her population growth without pumping much investment into the critical sector. The case of China will still not be different from India today. Which further grounded my assessment that demographic dividends is adjust an advantage on paper if investment are not directed into critical sector of the society . Healthy citizens and skilfully population tends to change the dynamic of a nation more positively.

Countries where education levels are already high, where much investment in transport and communications systems is in place, and where political and economy systems are relatively stable, are well equipped to cope with rapid population grow than vice versa. Population growth should be maintain in accordance with the economy growth. Overrun it has is own downward effect. North America, Japan has experience economic growth by moderates population growth of recent. .

Underfunded? India has annual budget of $750 billions!! It will even cross $2 trillions by 2030 if keeps on growing as planned.
Poor performance? India was biggest gainer in HDI in this decade.
""india has the second-lowest education score (66/100) amongst its South Asian counterparts.

Poor quality education and the relatively high prevalence of certain diseases amongst the population means India is risking its future economic growth by underinvesting in two key areas important for workforce productivity, according to a new study. ""HEALTH and EDUCATION "

Indians work for just six-and-a-half years at peak productivity (compared to 20 years in China, 16 in Brazil and 13 in Sri Lanka), ranking 158th out of 195 countries in an international ranking of human capital"

http://www.healthdata.org/

Note . Human capital are just a combination of health and education which India lacks.

Market is never formed unless people have purchasing power. They won't have until they earn high and they won't til their skill is high. What do you expect from countries where median age is 17-18 years? You think they will grow?

Asians started from tapping western markets. We all from Indians to Japanese, still rely on western markets for most of exports.

You said exactly what I said just minus population growth from it. High population growth demands money for development of more people and consumption of more resources.

Saturation doesn't cover entire population but the population which can afford it. It explains why Apple jumped from USA to China and now India without tapping all phone users. It will find even a smaller market in India.

Simply, it was an argument for bigger & better. For a smaller country, size of population and city will be small so will be bigger for a big country.

The thing that makes difference how they succeed is their income per person. Hence, population different between nations ultimately losses its relevance. It's internal matter of a country.

Total size only defines power as US is far far more powerful than other developed countries but its no way worlds most developed country or fastest growing developed one.

Most certainly. People just don't wake up and run towards cities.

My input makes very much sense here. You quoted it just because YOU HAD TO REPLY ME.
Read that part again.

India's PPP GDP per capita is nearly double of Africa and makes very much difference as seen on ground.

India's nominal GDP per capita was deliberately held by government by manipulating currency to keep Indian exports competent. We keep on buying $, selling ₹ to maintain a huge forex reserve. US had put us on currency watch list multiple times.
India's real nominal GDP per capita will be around $4,000 and total nominal GDP nearly double of Africa for same population if India's sets ₹ free. But it will create an economic crisis.

We have doubled our GDP in ₹ between 2011 & 19 while in dollars, we grew only some 60%.

China was a net exporter so chose to appreciate its currency and added a trillion dollar every year since 2006 (when it was $3 trillions economy). Most of by currency appreciation and inflation than real GDP growth.
Nearly bullshilt. We not be able to cover all the flaws. There is what is know in economics as initial conditions’. India and China are historical known to have some of the world giant economy ( human and agricultural land) both China and India , accounted for more than half of the world industrial production before the Industrial Revolution.. And This is the same reason China and India GDP are projected to overtake usa accordingly. .there have been a permanent and industrial cultivation of agricultural product in Asia which has existed for nearly as 3,000 years ago.. India only face a major set back in the 60s and 70s due to political instability which is yet to get her self out till date. Modern China has never been poorer like africa . China was the world largest economy in 1820 and is about to take it in the next few years.well in compare to india , the whole of Africa is not historically disadvantaged. Ancient agricultural countries like Egypt , Tunisia and Algeria are fully on par with India in growth potential, and in fact, are much richer than India today.

About Brazil. That will be a story for another day.

I cannot begin to quote all the nuisances that quoted me. So we should lauch reprisal attacks at Ghanaians doing their business here? Did the Ghanaians here ask their countrymen to attack your people? So what sense does it make uploading their photos onlin as a way to instigate violence on them? How many Indians and Lebanese have you attacked for treating your people like subhumans on your own soil? Bunch of online chestbeaters.

Nigerians have been doing business in Ghana for years. If the place had not been favourable for them, they would have moved away since. So suddenly because of a dispute between them and their hosts, we should start hunting down Ghanaians and destroy their businesses? If you can't conform with the unfavourable business conditions, then pack your load and get the hell out of their country. Why would you even want to remain in a country where you are not wanted? Are our people created to constitute nuisances everywhere they go?

If we don't want the Ghanaians doing business here, then write to the trade commission to impose similar stringent business conditions on them that would send them packing afterwards not uploading their photos online and indirectly inciting us to go and destroy their businesses.
Henceforth, i will stop stereotyping. Not all nairalander are childish and senseless.

Well, The only truth I can deduce from his assertion is his grammatical errors. ASUU doesn't even understands Kampala declaration, Kampala declaration is declaration on academic freedom not divisive statement. I am actually dissapointed in them with such ugly remark, well your half baked prof already reply by admitting that the content of the video does not sit well with the image of any institution and it is not the best thing that a professor of his caliber should do . clearly i don’t see why they are talking about academic freedom in this sense. He belongs to the same tribe that are known in Nigeria for such divisive statement. No sound yoruba or hausa/fulani will make such horrible remark without fact.

The fact is, Nigerians are currently behaving in Ghana just the same way in Europe especially in Germany, many Nigerians who acquired German Passports have got these Passports withdrawn from them because of the criminal activities which they were doing with these Passports and in the end they are now using United Nations Passports because the Nigerian Government/ Embassy refused to grant them Nigerian Passports because they renounced their Nigerian Citizenship as one of the prerequisites for acquiring a German Passport.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities , University of Lagos , has described as illegal the arrest and detention of a Professor of English, Austin Nwagbara , in Ghana.

ASUU threatened that if anything untoward happened to the don , the Ghanaian government would be held accountable.

Nwagbara was on sabbatical at the University of Education, Winneba , Ghana , when a discussion he reportedly had with some members of the Nigerian community was leaked.

A video clip of the meeting reveals the don berating Ghanaians for mistreating Nigerians despite their contributions to Ghana ’ s economy .
He asked Nigerian media houses to investigate the allegations against the Ghanaian authorities and broadcast to embarrass the government .
After the video went viral , the Winneba University sacked him.

In a statement by the school ’ s registrar , quoted by Ghana -based Starr News , the varsity said the don ’ s sabbatical at the school , which started in October 2018, had been terminated over the controversy.

“ In the said video, Prof . Nwagbara makes several unsavoury , unethical and damning comments about our country , its history as well as its educational system.

“ The university totally dissociates itself from the grossly irresponsible comments and condemns it in no uncertain terms.

“ The university after subjecting Prof . Augustine Uzoma Nwagbara to internal disciplinary process finds him culpable of gross misconduct and has, accordingly , dismissed him , ” the statement said in part.

According to Ghana ’ s Star FM , the Ghana ’ s Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs , Osei Mensah -Bonsu , backed the decision of the university.

“ We can ’ t continue to have such persons in our midst . No country will encourage that sort of a thing in its backyard, ” he said.

The lecturer was said to have been later invited by the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service.

He was reportedly accompanied by the Nigerian High Commissioner in Ghana , Ambassador Micheal Abikoye, and was allegedly subjected to hours of interrogation.

A statement by the Head of the Public Affairs Unit of the CID , DSP Juliana Obeng, said the professor was arrested for “ offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace . ”

It added that he was later released on bail.

Colleagues of Nwagbara at the UNILAG said the alleged harassment of the professor was wrong .

The UNILAG ASUU Chairman , Dele Ashiru, in a statement on Thursday , said the union received the reports of his alleged detention with “ anguish . ”
“ It is the opinion of our union that no matter how scathing the views of Professor Nwagbara may be to the authorities of the university at Winneba , the government and people of Ghana , the fact remains that Professor Nwagbara ’ s views should be viewed within the context of academic freedom guaranteed by Article 3 and 4 of the Kampala Declaration on Intellectual Freedom and Social Responsibility which states that
‘ No African intellectual shall in any way be persecuted , harassed or intimidated for reasons only of his or her intellectual work , opinions, gender , nationality or ethnicity.

Lol... I hope they also send similar copy of this letter to boko haram. I can assure them this will be better for the nation than guiding or supporting the prof that is already sober and feel remorseful of his action. My one Kobo.

What an honourable statement ever made by Nigerians. I am delighted to be identify with this Nigeria king.

Tamper justice with mercy. Igbo king in Ghana beg

The Igbo King of the Nigerian Community in Ghana, His Royal Majesty, Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu is pleading with the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) to temper justice with mercy following the attack carried out by some of its members on some Nigerian traders at Suame Magazine in the Ashanti region.

He said, though foreigners are not supposed to engage in retail business in the country, he believes the action by the Ghanaian traders was an eyesore.

To him, majority of Nigerians in retail business are ‘hustlers’ and therefore there was the need for a bilateral agreement to find a lasting solution.

“In the first place, these Nigerians in the retail business are hustlers and we are not intending to break laws because I know it’s illegal for foreigners to do retail business in Ghana. All I’m saying is that, our brothers in Ghana should temper justice with mercy because we are brothers,” he stated.

Chief Ihenetu was speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosi Sen, Thursday.

Some Ghanaian traders on Tuesday and Wednesday ransacked shops and forcibly closed down some shops in the area belonging to Nigerians.

Chief Ihenetu is pleading with Ghanaian traders not to mar the relationship between Ghana and Nigeria.

“Let’s not mar the relationship between Ghana and Nigeria with this small issue of trading. We should know that there are many Ghanaians in Nigeria. I am begging GUTA and its members not to see fellow Nigerians as enemies because your businesses are not collapsing,” he noted.

Okay
Do you know the prof actually request for contract extention before he was sacked.

Read what he said when he appear before the disciplinary committee....

“When he appeared before the disciplinary committee he said what had happened was unfortunate. He told the committee that with reference to the video it will take him the rest of his life to defend his statement and that he doesn’t see how he’ll explain things to his children and friends who have called him all over the world in the past few days since the video hit the internet.”

Nobody is calling Nigerians saints. Nobody has in fact shielded Nigerians foing shady business there. All we sre saying is Ghana should arrest the criminals and do the its job as a govt. If the govt sets examples, the laws will be respected, and only good Nigerians who are legit will be there. But the Ghanaian media is inciting ghanaians against Nigeria. You need to read their papers and online news.
The simple truth, the proof goofed as he made so many blantant statement just to discredit Ghana educational system and positive hospitality image.

NOTHING empirical tested information proves Ghana educational system is way below Nigeria standard . Infact many report suggest otherwise. Ghana was recently rated as 3rd most PEACEFUL state in Africa and 44th in the world. So that kind of sense the prof is trying to pass out is actually false

Heard of bilateral ties? cheesy grin
All those America and Britain you are shouting are nautical miles away from you. We will pull away from your economy, ban our nationals from schooling there, disconnect your electricity, sell our oil to someone else. Based on current happenings, your media is shiiite for spreading falsehood. Nigeria has docile leaders, nothing more. We are just surrounded by more hungry nations we pump life into economically.
To correct you , Nigeria actually don't sell electricity to Ghana but gas which demand has been reducing gradually of late due to Ghana new Gas discovery. And about banning Nigeria schooling in Ghana. Actually, it will not be possible. There are some tall list PROMINENT Nigerians who graduated from Ghana institution. The former chief justice is an example. And about economy, it is a win-win situation Ghana lost, Nigeria lost. GHANA GAIN, NIGERIA GAIN.

I understand your point, but of late the Ghanian media categorize all Nigerians as criminals while they enjoy the benefits of same Nigerians and Nigeria in their polity..

Give definitive measures to crimes not tag a people criminal just because of a miserable few, that was what the professor was trying to emphasize, and to think the govt would harp on such to advise its media accordingly, it axed the professor.

If we begin to do same to ghanaians as multiple criminal stories have been alleged against them and aswell could be made up as rumours like the ghanian media has done in previous past, would we have good news ever coming of Ghana with our dominating media?.
mine is when you are in Rome, you behave like Romans to be able to adapt to Roman society or else even if you spend 1000 years you are not needed.

And likewise the so called response from the Lagos University, is irritating and very unfortunate. Cant the police do their lawful duty? what is the locus of Lagos university to threaten a sovereign state like Ghana. Please they should give the country a break, once they are in Ghana they should be ready to abide by Ghanaian laws and if they can't, they are not welcome.

Did he lie based on the current happenings? He lives there and he knows better. That it's not an incite ful statement based on happenings. A media hell bent on criminalizing a nation of 200m people. There are lots of foreign nationals committing crime here and the media hasn't witch hunt anyone. Truth be told, is the Ghanaian educational system better than Nigeria's? No. He works there and he knows it. The Ghanaian govt simply heard the truth from who works and lives with them, and the truth they say, is bitter.
The Prof goofed in some of his suggestions for a propaganda style response to what he suggest as a clearly xenophobic attacks on Nigerians. He was clear that the information put out doesn't need to be wholly true, as he knows once the damage is done, that is why he pleaded and deny it after he was summoned to the university community. That's propaganda for you and it is clear he likes that! Misinformation and disinformation are parts of nation's tools to counter perceived enemy nations not only in war times but during peace times too. But in this information age, with the ability to quickly expose falsehood like fake news, urban myths, etc., propaganda easily backfires once exposed and ones integrity and credibility is eroded. So I think he is wrong on the choice of that strategy. All that was needed is to list actual cases of abuse and harassment of Nigerians in Ghana, things which can be verified, and coverage of what Nigerians are contributing to the Ghanaian society, to communities, to individuals, etc., etc. Have Nigerians speaking against their criminal countrimen, as some had done on video's before, calling on the Ghanaian authorities to deal with them.

Nigerians should know Ghana is not one of their states that they can dictate to. She is a sovereign country with laws that must be obeyed by everybody resident there. If anybody thinks he can’t obey thr laws he should leave the country. Nigeria government cannot dictate to Ghana how much less of ASUU.
