Thanks to everyone who responded to my enquiry about claiming points for nysc experience. Y'all are far too kind. |
Thank you so much. I have a reference letter from my Nysc employer and a bank statement covering about 9 months of that period. My ppa posting letter is a photocopy so I wasn't sure if that would suffice. The discharge letter shows the duration of the program and I just wanted to be sure cic would accept it. Thanks once again.

|
Thanks. This is what I intend to do. I don't have pay stubs just bank statements covering about 9 months of that period or so. Was his application successful? 8 Adiahabasi: |
Did you submit a copy of your discharge certificate as well? And did CIC have any issues with it? princessayinke: |
Is there anyone who has applied for PR via EE and claimed points for their NYSC period as part of work experience? I would like to know if you included any other evidence apart from the reference letter from your employer in your application. By evidence, I am referring to your nysc discharge certificate and bank statements showing salary payments. Thanks in advance. |
For primary source verification of your medical degree/diploma you do not need a transcript. You set up and pay for your physiciansapply account, create a SVR and pay for the document fee. Then you send via post or courier a copy of your medical degree/diploma, passport biodata page, evidence of change of name if applicable, and a completed certified identity confirmation form. I notarised all copies I sent to be safe. Then the MCC reviews the documents and provided there are no errors, uploads them onto your account and sends the medical degree copy to ECFMG for verification. (If there are errors, they send you a message via your account to provide what they need to correct the deficiencies. For example, a copy was cut off on one corner, you would have to send them another copy with all the margins visible). ECFMG then sends a verification request to your medical school. The request is sent by post and contains a copy of your medical degree and a form that your dean fills and signs to confirm that you indeed attended and graduated from said school. It also contains a pre-addressed envelope. I do not think that if the envelope was not used to send the verification back that it would be a problem. However, you have no way of knowing until ECFMG sends feedback on the verification to MCC which usually takes 20 working days. So, if your school sent back by courier, get the tracking number and track it online, check for the date and proof of delivery at ECFMG and count 20 working days from that date. Then check your physiciansapply account. Under documents, you click on medical degree. Then view history. That history shows you the stages and dates on which your document has passed through the different processes. It will also show you if the verification is passed or failed. chifylo: |
I am really not too certain but I think that a naira denominated account should suffice. However, if one has a dom account in foreign currency that should also suffice. The applicant would have to show a clear trail of the source of funds for the foreign currency though, I assume equivalent debits in naira and credits in forex from both accounts' bank statements should be enough evidence for this. However, chifylo: |
Hi. you are supposed to do a source verification of your medical degree and not your medical transcript. What the MCC stated was that an ECA can be issued for an applicant whose medical school transcript (states clearly that a medical degree has been awarded) has been successfully source verified but whose medical degree is still under the process of verification. This means that if you have already completed a source verification request and gotten a successful verification for your transcript before now and you subsequently apply for a SVR for your medical degree, then if you apply for an ECA it can be issued while your degree SVR is on-going. That being said, why is your degree not ready? Did you just graduate? You can call the MCC and find out if they can process a SVR for a statement of result. platypelloid: |
Ircc listed the professional degrees that they would award the points for "first professional degree" aka fpd to and physiotherapy isn't one of those . They do not mean that physiotherapy (or any another professional degree) is not a professional degree, but that for the purpose of express entry, IRCC would only award fpd points to those they have specifically listed. Hello. your question isn't clear. Kindly go to page 0 of this thread and read up. The entire process of the fsw EE was explained and laid down step by step with links for each step on pages 0-1. it would do you a lot of good to read up. chizzybaby247: |
the receipt email from iqas should have come with an application id which is your iqas ref no. it also should have 2 attachements. your application form should be there as well. was the access card yours? the payment i was trying to make still didn't go through so i gave up. freeradical: |
Yea, there seems to be something going on with the iqas payment platform. I tried to pay yesterday, kept giving all sorts of responses. I suspected it was because i was paying for someone else so the name of applicant/card name didn't match so it may have been declined. You can call their helpline though or opt to pay by money order and ask someone in Canada to help with that. freeradical: |
Hey, pls i need your input on this reference letter thingy. asked earlier but no one seems to have any info. what happens if your previous supervisor from an old job no longer works there? would a reference letter on a plain paper suffice in that situation? I vaguely remember a conversation about this earlier on in the thread but haven't been able to find the page. JesusDWay: |
please anyone with info on this? kindly help. thanks. vcole: |
hi everyone. hope we are all good. haven't been here in a bit. i gotta read up. Please can anyone help me with info on how to go about getting a reference letter from a previous employer where the supervisor no longer works in that company? I vaguely remember a discussion earlier on in the thread about getting the supervisor to write on a plain sheet of paper and get it notarized and add other evidence of employment for that period........i'll appreciate if anyone with info or experience can shed more light on this. Thanks. |
your ielts scores are clb level 9 which is more or less great for a principal applicant. evaluating only your masters degree would give you the same points as a first professional degree. so, like i said earlier, write wes to conclude your evaluation without your llb because they would only evaluate it as a bachelors and not as a first professional degree required to practise law and as such that evaluation of your llb would not become useful to you as it gives no extra points and also would not be useful if you choose to apply to the NCA to sit for the bar in canada. so, really its a win win situation to just evaluate your masters alone. Same goes for your husband, evaluate only his masters degree. it would take a much shorter time frame and would give the same points as the mbbs. it is also cheaper. i would advise you use IQAS for that as they seem to have a shorter time line from recent experiences shared here. What have your job roles/functions been? in which of them do you have the longest duration? i believe nysc experience can suffice as 1 yr of wrk experience as long as you can show proof of your employment and get a letter of reference from your supervisor. nothing also prevents your husband from beginning the process of evaluating his mbbs seeing as it takes time and he would eventually need it when he wants to sit for licensing exams from the mcc. So, evaluate his masters, conclude your wes evaluation, get his ielts and get into the pool with you as a principal applicant. If his mbbs gets evaluated in good time and you have not got an ITA yet while in the pool, i believe you can delete that profile and create another with him as the PA. yinyinola: |
yinyinola:Hello. I will try to answer some of your questions to the best of my ability and hopefully more persons would chip in as well. As regards the choice of a principal applicant, it simply boils down to who is younger, has the higher educational qualification and scores the highest on ielts. A masters degree and a first professional degree are awarded the same points on the CRS so you both have masters and fpd each. the choice is yours. The mbbs would take 3-6 months to get a completed ECA while the Llb would take about 2-3 weeks with IQAS. I am not sure...but i think that if the chosen NOC is as a medical doctor, then an ECA for the mbbs would be the ideal. As regards, NOC. you score maximum points for work experience of 3 yrs and above. However, it has to have been in 1 NOC. so you need to decide which noc you want to use for the EE process. As for the WES, you can write them and ask them to proceed on your eca process without the bachelors transcript and they would assess just your masters alone which would give you maximum points. However, you can also visit your uni and help the transcript/verification process along if you really want your bachelors assessed but then it would not be of any added value seeing as wes evaluates llb as bachelors degree. |
to be honest, you are the only one with the answer to this question. It all boils down to what your long term life and career goals are and if you believe moving to Canada would be a step towards achieving them in comparison to where you are now as well as if you are willing and able to meet up the financial demands of the PR application process as well as the costs of settling down in a new country. Relocating for all health professionals is not quite so easy as you know, this is because without a license to practice our degrees are almost useless. So, you need to properly assess the time it would take you to pass the boards and get a license then the availability of jobs. In a nutshell, I am saying you probably need to do more research as to how life in Canada is for an international pharmacy graduate. veleta: |
Thank you for breaking this down. ![]() Pinkygrace: |
hi. i think you should notarise your documents in Saudi. you currently reside there and would obviously be claiming points for your current period of employment there as your EE app progresses so i don't see that as a problem. All you need is to locate a notary public. it takes only a few minutes. they view the original and then stamp and sign the photocopy. esosa4real: |
check the cic site carefully. they specified the pharmacy board. veleta: |

I think you may be better off liquidating the FD and making that her account a joint account or at least yourself as a second signatory. This preserves the account history. And then a detailed LOE to explain. Alternatively move all the funds to your own personal account and write a detailed LOE to explain bulk lodgement as well as accompanying bank statement to show the move of funds from hers to yours. I am assuming sinp requires 3 months bank statement right? so if you do that now, your time starts ticking. Doggys: |
so, i don try siddon for sideline reach for this missommy matter. i no fit again. I have read and re-read your comments. I have nagging questions..... why do you keep insisting that your stay was unintentional? How do you stay for months in another man's country unintentionally? Why do you also keep bringing up the "i was stamped in for 6 months?" Are you not aware that you were stamped in with B1? and that your visa was annotated for 1 month? did the cbp cancel the annotation at the point of entry? did s/he stamp you in as B2? Are you not aware that it is illegal to access medical care (except in cases of dire emergency) in the united states on a B1 visa? Okay, were you not already married by tradition as at your last interview? You chose single because it is a bit difficult to explain a marriage without a certificate. Understood. So why change to married or common law union for this next interview when the traditional marriage was not done in the time frame between both interviews? Your insistence on your first child birth trip being "unintentional" and your stay being "legal" in your view because you were stamped in for 6 months would only infuriate any VO because it would come across as you thinking s/he must really be so foolish to not read between the lines. I hope you are able to understand that your choices before now were wrong and illegal. Also, ignorance is no excuse. Now, you know better. This is a faceless forum, you alone know all the facts. Re-apply, it really does not cost anything but the visa fee. Answer ALL questions truthfully and be prepared for any response. |
