Janosky:Read it again, this time slowly. |
hrykanu231:I am a lawyer - and one of the things they teach in the Law school is the fundamental rights enshrined in the 1999 constitution. One of these is Freedom of speech and expression- under which you and anyone else can comment on any matter. This freedom is not, however, absolute - especially regarding an ongoing matter in the court. Media trial is generally frowned upon because it has a way of prejudicing the court trial. Nevertheless - if you are quite confident about the petition - you should have nothing to worry about. I have only said that the Drug related case has been in court plenty of times in the past and have failed. You can also see letter from the FBI/US embassy below. Mind you - I am not speaking in support of Tinubu.I have just noted points of law in response to your comments.
|
hrykanu231:Have you seen the petition? Was that based on testing the data or personal attacks to disqualify Tinubu and discountenance his votes? In one breadth he claims to be the winner - in another breadth he claims the vote was rigged and it should cancelled for a rerun. I am just curious… what should happen to Atiku’s votes, who came second? And the whole publicity on Twitter? Media trial all over social media? Instigated to sway public opinion and prejudice the trial before the court.. is that a free and fair judicial process. He who comes to equity must come with clean hands. |
frankyychiji:Why not? Because whites are any better? They are all beds of same plumage. Google trump and you would see he is currently under investigation and may soon be arrested. You wonder why he is consistently in the news despite he has led the US for 4 years in the past. People cover up crimes and get away with it anywhere in the world. Many rich white families in the US and Europe today are living off proceeds of organised crimes and or slave trades of the early 18th & 19th century. There is no politician that is a saint! |
frankyychiji:The same way the law caught up with Obasanjo or Abacha or Donald Trump? Bro - plenty crimes by leaders go unpunished. Only God can judge them - that’s the one they can’t escape! |
frankyychiji:I am not advocating crime, but Most politicians anywhere n the world are corrupt or engage in some form of crime - that’s how they build their wealth and power. Tax evasion, money laundering, embezzlement, keeping money in offshore accounts etc! They are just good at hiding it. Prayer is to have a leader who despite his/her flaws, they still care about the masses. |
Racoon:Not true. I have read the warrant and court order.. he forfeited only one account, in exchange for rest - on the basis that the warrant showed “probable cause” it was proceeds of crime. Question is whether this amount to an indictment - same reason previous attempts at court have failed! |
Michael548:What do you understand by it? |
Michael548:You don’t research bro. You pray - and God helps you understand the truth. You shall know the truth - and the truth shall set you free!!! |
DeOTR:I hear you! |
Michael548:I pray you find understanding and purpose 🙏. Shallom ✌️ |
Michael548:Again, it does not. See Philippians 2:6-7. I did the favour of copying the AMPLIFIED VERSION, as it explains things more in lay men terms. “ Philippians 2:6-17 Amplified Bible 6 who, although He existed in the form and unchanging essence of God [as One with Him, possessing the fullness of all the divine attributes—the entire nature of deity], did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped or asserted [as if He did not already possess it, or was afraid of losing it]; 7 but emptied Himself [without renouncing or diminishing His deity, but only temporarily giving up the outward expression of divine equality and His rightful dignity] by assuming the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men [He became completely human but was without sin, being fully God and fully man].” |
Michael548:Jesus is not the father and that explanation does not suggest that he is. Contrary to that, it suggests that Jesus came as human and is subject to the will of the Father (God the father). |
Michael548:Ok, I’ll explain. There are different interpretations of what Jesus meant by saying that his Father is greater than him. It means: 1. Firstly, he was referring to his human nature, which was lower than his divine nature, and that he was expressing his submission and obedience to the Father’s will 2. Secondly, he is also referring to his divine nature by acknowledging the Father’s authority and position as the source and head of the Trinity! Regardless of how you look at it, it does not mean that Jesus is not God or equal to God in essence and nature! Jesus himself claimed to be one with the Father (John 10:30) and accepted worship from his followers (John 20:28). He also said that he has all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18) and that he shares the same glory with the Father (John 17:5). The Bible teaches that Jesus is fully God and fully man, who came to reveal God’s love and grace to us (John 1:1-18; Colossians 1:15-20; Hebrews 1:1-4). |
DeOTR:I didn’t just type those things bro. I know them in my spirit. My spirit bears witness to these things - I understand them in a way that I can’t explain. This is the verse you should pray about. It embodies all you need to know about how these three personalities are connected as 1! John 15:26 “When the Helper comes, whom I [Jesus] will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me . . .” |
DeOTR:Your first mistake is to think you can comprehend God with your limited senses. We know that God is, by Faith. Now - please read through the passages below: Phil 2: 6 - 11. “6 Though he was God,[a] he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. 7 Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave[c] and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form,[d] 8 he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.” John 10:30 “The Father and I are one.” John 1:18 “No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.“ John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.“ John 1:14 “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.“ Jesus Christ is the Son of God - and he is God himself. You cannot separate them - they are 3 persons - with the same ESSENCE. How can you understand that God can be in multiple places and versions of realities at the same time… but you can’t bring your senses to understand that HE can be flesh and spirit at the same time? You can speak with your pastor, if you still do not understand. And no, humans are not body soul and spirit. The Bible said we were formed from the dust and God breathed into us and we were made a living soul. Bible never mentioned we were given a soul. The breath of God made us a living soul. And what happens at death when God's breath leaves us? We go back to dust. That's common sense and it's simple as that. There's God the Father and Jesus is His Son because He came out from Him. That doesn't make Jesus any less than His Father. Let's be guided.
Bros naaa.. I would advise you read the Bible and understand. Now - please read through the passages below: 2. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Hebrews 4:12 12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Matthew 10:28 28 And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Ecclesiastes 12:7 7 and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it. I willl stop there. Lessons: Humans are made of body, soul and spirit. Your body is your flesh. Your soul is your Seat of reason, choices and desires. Your spirit is what connects you to God - it is pure. At death, the human body dies. Spirit returns back to God. Soul either perishes in hell or lives in heaven - depending on the choices you have made. |
DeOTR:You are probably the one who lacks understanding. The doctrine of the Trinity means that there is one God! who eternally exists as three distinct Persons — the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Stated differently, God is one in ESSENCE and three in person. Just as a man is (I) BODY (ii) SOUL; AND (iii) SPIRIT. The difference is that Man is not co-eternal, like God. In the beginning (Genesis 1), God said let us create man in our own image - in the likeness of God. It is never a contradiction to refer to God has 1 in 3 persons. These things were express in the words of Jesus Christ, our Lord. |
DeJoeee:Only reasonable post so far! |
Jorussia:They are short sighted. Tinubu recognises talents and he is economically sound - two important things Nigeria needs right now. If anything, he won’t be as tribalistic / inept like his predecessors. And let’s face it, the only things Obi has over him is young age and integrity. Otherwise, Tinubu is a better option than both guys combined. |
Wole Olanipekun and Yusuf Ali are probably the best constitutional lawyers Nigeria have atm. |
Ajibam:Good recommendation, but it won’t solve this issue. Why? Because your recommendation still involves human intervention and, private or public, people can still be bribed or threatened. It’s the VOTING system that needs to change. The Electoral Act needs to be further amended to accommodate alternative voting system by e.g.: 1. Most citizens have either a BVN or NIN. Include the option to vote by portal or sms - with unique BVN or NIN numbers. That way people don’t have to leave their homes… and be either threatened or maimed for voting their choice. We would also have more people participating in the voting system. 2. For Citizens who don’t have BVN or NIN, or for some reasons can’t vote via the portal or sms - they have the option to vote at their nearest polling units. That way, no one will be systematically disenfranchised. 3. For Citizens outside of Nigeria, include the option to vote via a portal or SMS if they have NIN or BVN, or if they do not - visit their in-country embassies/consular office to vote in person. Again, this way there will be more participation in voting and no one is systematically disenfranchised. 4 and all the options above will be on the precondition that they each all have Voters Card - issued virtually or physically - and registered on the system as accredited to Vote, with their biometric included. These recommendations will address largely the issues we have now. And they are not difficult to implement - because all these structures are already in place - they just haven’t been utilised to the fullest extent. |
thrillionaire: tommy589:Appears counterintuitive: People thrive mostly because of good economic policies. America is by far not comparable with Nigeria - because by Default - Nigerian Presidents & Legislators lack economic depth! It’s pretty much obvious from the type of laws introduced and passed in the Parliament. I do believe Tinubu is sound economically - may be there should be some changes in governance style. |
IBB - one of those that instigated corruption and destroyed Nigeria. Funny how they should be in jail but are rather revered. |
Especially to Win Lagos Governorship Election That would be the best strategy and best thing for our democracy. It will reduce Tinubu’s power and influence - and access to Lagos wealth and funds. And also ensure LP hits the ground running for 2027. |
[sub][/sub] no Yamiriflathead:He is very intelligent. Surprised he gave that speech without reading a paper. |
Kingcalls:He acquired it as a brand ambassador to the auto shop. |
C&S Hymn 803 Baba olorisun Ibukun gbogbo ♥️ |
Wotowotoman:Lol 😂 I wonder where you folks from trying to sound intelligent by being stupid. If this will guide your subsequent reply to me - I am no student or person wey just Learn investing - I have studied and practised for a decade in Law, 21/2 of which was done practicing Banking & Finance in one of the top corporate law firms in Nigeria, including corporate and project finance. And the last 1 year in one of Big Law, practicing general corporates. Show some respect man 👨. Wotowotoman:It’s a shell company - the floating LNG is the real asset - you should Google what it is cos I don’t have time to school you. Eventually what happens is that Delta state will grant a Share Charge over its shares in the company in favour of Fidelity plus Fidelity will take security over the floating LNG - the real asset. Ask yourself, what’s the benefit to Delta state? There are other nuances in finance but I don’t have time to school you. Whether it is a ploy to fund elections is not relevant to me - I have only commented on the economics of it. Wotowotoman:Oga you should try use Microsoft Bing. They have integrated ChatGPT now - that may teach you what PE firms do. Wotowotoman:Bros private companies have share prices, they only don’t get traded on an exchange. Private companies’ shares are bought and sold privately and may even do a private placement - how do you think they are valued? I think you are a mechanic. |
Wotowotoman:I won’t indulge illiterates. Certain you don’t understand a thing in my comments. Olodo rabata oju eja lo mo je. |
Borrowing that much money just to invest in Shares of some shell companies… Like 20 billion Niara for shares, when Delta State isn’t a Private Equity firm. Company that can go burst and share price plummet anytime. How does he hope to recoup the 20bn investment? Nigerian leaders with their poor economic policies. |
In some way, this new naira policy is a blessing in disguise. Hopefully Nigerians will vote wisely come Feb 25. |
