SocialJustice:Please don’t follow this advice. That’s one of the cardinal principles of Nigeria’s criminal law...... YOU CANT ARREST SOMEONE In lieu of a suspect... Administration of Criminal Justice Act / S. 7 7. A person shall not be arrested in place of a suspect. If you have a doubt That this applies in Lagos, also check S. 4 of the ACJL (which applies in Lagos). You and your lawyers will be sued for malicious prosecution and cough out more money if you are not careful. |

Looks fake. In any case, LEGALLY SPEAKING, it is impossible to Rape a man through the Pinis. The whole concept of Rape bothers on Penetration - and accordingly what you may have here is sexual assault. |
Raped And Dumped in the gutter for two days, with no one coming to her rescue? |
chibuike65:The North will never agree to separation. The government is their means of livelihood. That’s the honest truth. |
Omooba77:It’s simple brother. The 25 million is one of the consideration for the determination of Significant Economic Presence and if they will be taxed at all! what would be taxed is the Profits or Income made from the Revenue generated in Nigeria. Moreover, I don’t understand why the government should be concerned by operational costs when they don’t have a physical cite in Nigeria. Any such operational cost will be negligible In any case. Please read the article again. |
Lostz:You should understand the word consumer there means someone who pays for the services. I was simply using the numenclature used by the person I was quoted. You can’t watch Netflix in Nigeria without paying for it... and there is no way you would pay for Using Google unless you pay for using their ads services. The same applies with YouTube. Consumers here mean those who pay and contribute the revenues generated. You are right about this being a good decision - if properly implemented. |
Omooba77: Omooba77:Let me help you. 1. Only foreign companies offering digital services, with Significant Economic Presence, will be taxed; and 2. The foreign company MUST earn more than 25 Million naira in Nigeria, IN NAIRA. It’s very simple brother. They will simply be taxed over the revenue generated in Nigeria, provided the threshold above is triggered. It doesn’t amount to double taxation, certainly not from the perspective of Nigeria - because as it were, they are making money off Nigerians without giving back. Now whether they pass on the costs to the consumer is a different issue for the Consumer Protection Agency. In developed societies, companies can’t arbitrarily increase prices of their services/products. Nigeria will get there someday - but the tax imposition is good for the country. Let me also make a final note. The reasons many of these MNCs rake in huge amount of Revenues is because they have big Tac Firms assisting them with Tax evasion and avoidance, by exploiting loopholes in Tax laws. You would see that there have been recent cases of Google and FB punished By the EU for tax evasion- in Ireland and I think France. Through Accounting principles such as Transfer Pricing - a Company can wire all its revenue to a tax haven country (like Cayman Islands) for the purposes of tax remittance - thereby avoiding the payment of taxes in countries where the revenues were made. My brother you would have to very knowledgeable in these things to understand that these MNCs are big rip offs! |
yanabasee1:What’s the alternative? |
Iscoalarcon: paulolee:It can. It’s just about having separate classes: Morning session; and Evening session. They can also rotate - Monday Wednesday and Friday for a set; and Tuesday Thursday and Saturday for another set. It’s just about finding a way to adjust learning Experience to Reflect present realities. This Coronavirus might be with us for the next 1-2 years till a Vaccine is produced. Until then, life must somehow continue! |
Gazzy88: DennisEche: cruxgemmata:THESE ARE ALL ONE-SIDED OPINIONS AND UNTRUE! Many Nigerians think all lawyers are Barristers (lawyers that appear before a law court to represent clients). This is a VERY wrong view. We also have another arm of the legal practice - called SOLICITORS. They would normally not appear in courts and even though many lawyers can combine being a Barrister and Solicitor - lawyers practicing as Solicitors earn quite a good sum of money. So you will normally have: 1. Real Estate lawyers (Land/Properties related) 2. Intellectual Property lawyers (Trademarks/Copyright related) 3. Company Secretaries/Legal officers (Working as an employee in companies - e.g MTN, Chevron,NNPC) 4. Banking and Finance Lawyers (Assisting with documentation of International financing transactions) 6. Energy Lawyers (Oil and gas and Power related) 7. Projects and Infrastructure Lawyers (Majoring in big ticket constructions Etc.) 8. And other General corporate and commercial practice. The truth is - Just like every career path - Law is very competitive. But if you have any law student as a brother/sister - advise them on the above - so they don’t end up being a charge and bail lawyer. |
smallsmall: .You are so funny bro. I think I would agree with you. When there is an overwhelming evidence, such as a video recording of this sort - we should have an expedited court process where they get sentenced and executed within 3 months. No need for long trials and no time for story - since they were stupid enough to provide the evidence of their guilt. |
Adegunle4:You think? Shomolu-Bariga and Oworonshoki appears to be the hub of danger in Lagos. Whichever way, all those cultists are scattered across lagos. The best thing to do is to get rich enough to buy an apartment in Ikoyi and environs. That’s where the sane people live. You see those poor people area, they will always be a danger to anyone who wants to live a easy life. |
They had the effrontery to record this and post it on the Internet. These guys need to be arrested and prosecuted publicly. Emi mimo a tu asiri yin. Eyin apanilekun wonwon yi. |
1m and I can send someone to check this. |
Shukusheka:I think you missed her point. She’s just saying any person earning 400k in Nigeria will do fine. If the person decides to go out of the Country - they would have to start over from the scratch. If they do, they shouldn’t whine about it. I think that’s a fair point to make. And although you are entitled to your opinion about Nigeria - it’s not altogether true for everyone. I don’t know what you mean by poor standard of living but there are People who earn far less than 400k who are living comfortably (I am talking 200-350k). I have families/friends who are - so Nigeria is not altogether bad. It may not be perfect in Nigeria - but it’s not perfect anywhere too. When you think about it - the best thing about the west is to raise your family (particularly Children). In my opinion, Apart from that, every other thing is secondary. |
tyup:It’s a common trend. When a woman catches her husband cheating with another lady as well, they only attack the lady. People just assume it’s the fault of the third-party that their spouse commits adultery. I agree with you. Very wrong I must say. |
AsapKen:Alright, many thanks |
AsapKen:When was it registered in Nigeria? |
MaziAlaye:First of, she is fraudulent. Second, every hurt doesnt have to be physical. She would have been secretly using diabolical means against ‘perceived’ enemies of her clients (worshipers). Lives and families destroyed. It’s worse of because she is doing all of these, in the guise of running a Christian worship centre. Of course that doesn’t justify the destruction of her properties. She is meant to have her day in the Court for running a fraudulent practice. |
haywire07:I am sorry, you are mistaken. I am a practicing lawyer, and I am not sure what you mean by your comments above but shove it up your ass. Police have nothing to do with imposing jail terms. If they threaten to shoot, or do indeed shoot civilians, that’s extrajudicial and it’s got nothing to do with imposition of jail terms. A simple google search on how the justice system works will help you, assuming you can read and comprehend. |
haywire07:You dont have to say what you don’t know. If found guilty... they will all have the same punishment. For murder - it’s a capital punishment so they will all be sentenced to death. Under the doctrine of Participis Criminis in Criminal law... all the persons that partake in a crime will same punishment, including by just driving them to the place of crime. The only exception is if it can be proved the person didn’t partake at all and a few nuance defences, which are usually difficult to prove in Court. |
I wonder how this guy’s Mother and Father would feel about what their son has become. Omo pau bi ibon. |
jasent2020:A mistake has been made. We are all humans and we make mistakes. He needs an advice. The least you can do is offer him one. What’s done is done. @op sorry for your loss. 1. You can chose to institute an action against them in the Court. Pros is that Legally you have a fairly solid claim - Misrepresentation is your best bet (Fraud has a higher threshold For dishonesty and you will most likely not succeed if you bring an action based on fraud). Cons is that the legal process takes time in Nigeria. Your matter might still in court for the next 2 years - over how much, 200k? It may as well be costly in terms of finance, time and emotions. 2. File a complaint with the Consumer Protection Council, like someone alluded to abide. Pros, it’s less costly and in my opinion this is your best Bet. Downside is that this body is new and they may be unable to enforce their findings etc. 3. Sell the car back to them for 300k... Pros, you save and you can at least get part of your capital. Cons, you loose about 200k. Hope this helps. |
FRESHG:That’s a Cheetah. Even still, it must have been drugged. |
9jaRealist:It appears you have issues with comprehension. I won't indulge you. |
chamber2:Better way to put it. I agree! |
kalufelix:Quite right. But when you think about the remote cause, it is quite understandable. White guys don’t troll on White Ladies the same way many Nigerian guys do. And this is quite obvious. I use to have lots of one of my ex-gf’s pictures on my FB account. The number of guys that Send me messages on a daily was so alarming, and annoyingly in very poor Syntax. They didn’t even have the patience to go through my timeline/profile to find out the kind of person they are texting, what my interests are etc. My point exactly is: if a lady has to chat with every guy on his DM in the “White” manner above, She might go crazy. I think they are allowed to cherrypick on who and how they chose to chat. This must, however, be done reasonably. For example... YOU DONT HAVE TO ACCEPT A FRIEND REQUEST FROM PERSONS YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO CHAT WITH. Modified: it's obvious a lot of guys are bittered, given the quotes on my comments. It's straight up simple, people have the right to be brief and petty, female or male. I usually am petty too. Some white ladies are like that as well. It's just what it is regardless of how you fee about it. |
