When I completed my degree in Philosophy, I didn’t know I would eventually go back to study law let alone qualify as a lawyer.

The opportunity came after my NYSC - and I seized it.

Not a lot of people would have the mental resolve to start afresh - but that’s something common with most successful people. And we shouldn’t be an exception.

Ultimately - doesn’t really matter what you studied - but what you make it of it.

No offence to this guy, but why all these last minute appointments by Mr M. Buhari.

Much of what is done is forcing graduates to work as teachers in half-baked schools scattered around the country.

This institution should be thinking around upskilling graduates with monthly trainings to develop critical skills (particularly Tech related) and placement to all companies in the country - helping them become employable.

It’s quite painful they still enforce 1970s ideas in the 21st century.

The didnt complain about ill equiped medical schools and teaching hospitals while training only to jump on the next plane to countries where they couldnt afford to study Medicine.....
Before anyone says rubbish....... doctors that want to practice in USA should go there for their studies if they can afford it not take advantage of the subsidized medical education in Nigeria and thereafter run away......Government subsidized it so many people can be trained to be useful to the country.

True, and I quite agree with your analysis - but the same government ought to provide good benefits to the Doctors when they qualify.

It seems many of them, like Lawyers, struggle after graduating.

Interesting, I was watching the TV series “Expanse” yesterday and they routinely used space stations/torpedoes to hit asteroids/meteors to alter their course.

Depends on the circumstances - but certainly people starting their career need to prioritise personal development over remuneration.

If the remuneration covers your transport and livelihood - by all means, have at it.

The problem is that many folks calculate their family’s financial needs when thinking of the salary - but the employer has only considered the cost of employing you.

1. an employer can sue a former employee. where the former employer acts contrary to the provision of the contract of employment.

2. where a former employee fragrantly acted outside the ambit of her right under the law.

3. an employer can sue to ask the court to affirm the actions i.e voluntary resignation of a former employee.

4. an employer can sue a former employee to stop a former employee from parading herself as a staff or employee.

5. an employer can sue to recover properties if the former employee keeps holding on to the employer's properties. i.e Car, Laptop, Identity Card, Company issued Mobile Phone etc

6. an employer can sue where a former employee is asking for more than what such former employee is entitled to as disengagement entitlements, or engaging in acts that would cause harm to the employer in making her demands. etc

7. an employer can sue former employees for harms caused or debts owned the employer or for acts or actions of the former employee upon resignation that would cause harm to the employer.

Infact in that case, the court granted all the employer's prayers and awarded costs and damages against the employee.
