SilverNorGold:It depends on the course. Some courses require you to think and be created - for instance, some modules taught under Philosophy, Law etc. Some requires you to be able to replicate exactly the methods of arriving at a conclusion - e.g.some modules taught English, sciences, engineering and etc. A students ability to distinguish both approaches is vital to making a First. |
Luak:I am not Sure what you mean by setting the pace. My thought is that people date each other out of practicality. It’s a relationship of advantages that a lot of folks do these days. Once they stop getting those advantages, they lose ‘love’. Finding a person who genuinely loves without any attached consideration is quite difficult these days. I am so scared to fall in love let alone get married. Also, Social media has made keeping a trustworthy relationship More difficult. You can just go through your gfs/spouses phone and see her flirting Nd sharing nudes with random guys on Instagram and whatsapp. It’s all messed up men! |
Luak:I like this strategy... but you probably will get hurt more if she falls out of love with you. Wondering if it makes any sense to be the one to deflower a lady you are in love with while you are still both in love. How effective can that be in making her committed? Not withstanding that this goes against all moral and religious inclinations. |
glimpse33:I don’t know about this.... but the Coronavirus is real bro. That thing deals with a person’s physical and mental wellbeing. The fear of it alone might be the cause of so many deaths. Avoid it at all cost! |
meccuno: meccuno: ideology:Covid-19 is not a conspiracy. From your comments, I take it you guys are learned. I have witnessed two people that died of Covid-19 complications. Because you are learned, I will explain, and hopefully you will understand better. Covid-19 is a Cold virus, and virus by their nature are incurable. They would only go by themselves with defences from the immune system. It attacks the immune system, so that if an individual had underlying illnesses, he/she technically becomes defenceless. The two people I know who died of Covid-19 complications died of; 1. Typhoid and Malaria complications 2. Unknown, as at times of death. So if you are technically negative of Covid, you still need to take care of all underlying sicknesses. Mind you, both people I mentioned above, were living on oxygen. It was an excruciating experience i will not like anyone to go through. I could feel their pains - day and night. I am still having a post-traumatic experience because of this. Covid is really really real! Pls take precautions. PS: I should as well add for the benefit of those reading this later. This will be a good time to deal with all Blood, lungs or throat infections, including Malaria parasites and Typhoid bacteria in your system. What I would do is go to your clinic, run a test and confirm your health status. Covid-19 will not severely affect a healthy person. Take Immune boosting medications- Vitamin C, Multivitamins and Go full Veg.... meaning lots of Fruits, Vegetables and Ginger/Garlic/Lime or Lemon hot drink. This will be in addition to using face mask and washing ur hands always whilst applying Hand sanitizers. Please take precautions folks. I am not joking at all. |
linearity:Don’t be surprised that a number of the people that liked the guy’s comment also liked yours. Thing is, there is no single truth. This thing called life is not cast in stones. For example, there is no telling that more than half of the stats you stated died of negative thoughts. No one was in their mind. Also, they couldn’t have All died of negative thoughts too. It’s just perspectives - nothing more. |

Hi anyone, I am contemplating getting a Honda Civic 03/04 Nigerian used for a brother to use for Uber. I understand Honda vehicles have hand issues. Is that also a problem with the Honda Civic? Anyone who has used it should pls advise on the problems that are recurrent with that vehicle. I would appreciate your honest opinion. Many thanks. |
ModestGal:I absolutely agree! |
Ignorance, that’s all I see with these online tantrums. Rape is a crime. It is not subject to the whims and caprices of the people. It also has nothing to do with anyone’s opinion. Rape is as defined in legislations and interpreted by the Courts. Nigerian Law doesn’t recognise marital rape. UK law, however, does recognises marital rape... and that only became recognised in 1990; see the case of R v R (1991). Nigerian law might get there someday but presently, no such thing as Marital rape - it doesn’t matter what anybody’s opinion on the matter is. |

Multiplier7:Oh Great! You are welcome sir. |
donaldking10:What course isn’t overrated? Lots of people who studied medicine are out there fighting for Canadian and Australian visa. Lots of folks who studied petroleum engineering are out there fighting for Bank jobs. No course is overrated brother - it’s the Nigerian economy and system. A smart person will make a living with any course - if God helps him. |

Multiplier7:Hmmmm. That is tricky one. I use Cowrywise, but I haven’t used their Mutual Funds product before. In my experience, Cowrywise offered about 10% over my savings for 3 months - but it wasn’t so much about the interest for me - it was more about being able to lock my money so that I cant touch it, even if I really needed it. Principally, I would get my money back even if the interest was negligible. That was the catch for me. So - in my opinion, you can use Cowrywise platform to invest on Afriinvest - if you can trust Cowrywise as a secure platform. I have not heard of any regret case from anyone - but I don’t know a lot of people who have used it either. I guess it’s a risk you may have to take - but I will advise you start with an amount you can give away, not all your savings. But please consider the percentage on your return first. If they offer a great percentage - I think it’s worth a try. |
KomonSense:Hmmm. Okay, I am just a Finance Lawyer - and I have worked on Mutual Funds transactional documents prepared for Floating - but I don’t have personal experience/information on the most appropriate to invest in for an average citizen. However, these articles by Cowrywise/nairametrics explains in detail your question above. Link below https://cowrywise.com/blog/mutual-funds-in-nigeria/ https://nairametrics.com/2019/08/30/how-mutual-funds-work-in-nigeria-a-simple-guide/ The summary is that - the Prospectus of the Mutual Funds will state the minimum and maximum amount - typically N5000 upward.... but you would expect that a 100k investment should be fine for a person just testing the waters. Yes many Banks have Investment arms operating MFs. I also know of Chapel Hill Denham Management Funds - sometimes in real estate, dollar funds etc. The dollar funds can be quite expensive and the minimum investment could be as high as $10,000. So again, it depends on the terms in the Prospectus. |
Uyi168: sathel: Ulunne777:Hi all, There is no shame in not understanding. Let me help you guys understand. Think of mutual funds as the three of you bringing your money together - and giving it to someone like Charles Soludo (Because the assumption is that Charles Soludo knows how to invest very well and Can make you guys a lot of money). Charles Soludo, in this scenario, will be called the Fund Manager. The funds that the three of you have contributed is called the Mutual Fund and Charles Soludo must make sure That he invests (In different Portfolios) according to the terms as agreed by all of you (investors) and this will depend on whether you want to invest in Shares, Government Bonds, Foreign dollar investment funds etc. This is usually how rich people like Dangote, Otedola invest their money outside of doing business. But the average poor man in the street lacks all these financial information. Now you know - the next tome you make your next 1 million - you may think about keeping your money with Mutual Funds and getting a return at the end of the year! |
flemsy15:You are correct by half. It is not entirely true that Nigerian law doesn’t recognise a woman raping a man... Section 1 of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibitions) Act - which, at the moment, only applies in the FCT - provides that rape could be committed through penetrating the anus and mouth. So if a woman forcefully inserts an object into the mouth or anus of a man, that could amount as rape. What is not yet legally recognised is raping a man through the forceful insertion of his pinis in a lady, against his will. Many countries are yet to recognise that as rape as well. Hopefully we will get there someday. |
Kizzygentle:No sir. Rape is a crime. It is not subject to the whim and caprices of the people. It also has nothing to do with anyone’s opinion. It is as defined in legislations and interpreted by the Courts. Nigerian Law doesn’t recognise marital rape. UK law, however, does recognises marital rape... and that only became recognised in 1990; see the case of R v R (1990). Nigerian law might get there someday but presently, no such thing as Marital rape. |
Petyprincess:You are right... But it’s not about the belief of the people. Nigerian law doesn’t recognise marital rape. There is an assumption of implied consent between married couples. |
chidi4sam:Please send me a PM... i may be able to assist with that. |
chidi4sam:I am sorry for your loss bro. But Nigerians that are reading this should be advised that the Police And EFCC have no power to recover debts. Failure to repay overdue debts is a civil wrong and not a criminal act. The Police and other security agents (I.e EFCC), therefore, have no power under the law to arrest, prosecute or to take any action against a person for failure to pay debts. See EFCC v Diamond banks & ors; see Mclaren v Jennings. You can only involve the police or efcc if the money was obtained by Fraud, stealing or any other crime was committed! Now - your best bet? 1. Write a letter of demand, if you haven’t got an agreement between both of yu. 2. Meet a lawyer for (1) above to assist with drafting and get a lawyer to follow through with court processes. It’s pretty much slam dunk for debt recoveries in the courts - but be sure that the person can cough out the money. No point wasting money on legal processes when the accused doesn’t have any money to give! |
