Geovanni412: With any investment, you can lose money
Interbreweries is bankrolled by AbinBev, owners of the Budweiser brand, biggest brewers in the world.
For now, I have no position in the market. I have tried ta and fa system my pops used since 2021(entry) till exit (2022).
You need massive units to enjoy benefit of stock. My dad tries to get 100k units and above of any stock. It's stock market that paid my university education in Nigeria (Baze), Ghana and even my mum's cancer treatment.
Volume is key.
What I discovered in 1 yr on the market is there is no formula but if a stock is underpriced (less than 75-90 percent from it's peak) and has a fairly decent board of directors, take a punt at it.
Also, Kobo stocks perform better than strong companies. I made zero gain investing in uba, uacn and afriprud but I made over 50 percent gain by investing in jaiz bank which had not paid a dividend in 16 yrs.
Why did I leave?
The gain on stock market was less than the movement of naira to dollar on black market last year. Clearly, converting to dollar was the right move to play.
Why do I want to try again?
I see an opportunity on Kobo stocks that is worth the gamble instead of allowing money fallow in my bank acct.
I did analysis on many stocks that performed well based on technical analysis but failed the test of fundamental analysis. Stocks like Guinness and Cadbury have history of bad mgmt and cooking books but they ended up pumping the most.
Capital issue:
500k-1 million is small capital for stocks above 3 naira. Spreading it around won't give much gain. It's either you are content with tiny gains or you go hard and either die a villain or become a hero.
If you want dividend stock system and slow n steady, I can give you suggestions but if you are a degen, then you must go for Kobo stocks. Dm me for more details either way
Broker: I use investmentone (an arm of gtbank) but zenith bank has a broker that is also good. That's what one of my friends told me.
@Venerable612, moves like the below shows me the market is one for kobostocks. This is for the companies called tripleg, ftncocoa. FTNCOcoa is in serious financial difficulties yet look at the chart.... Brilliant. Super helpful. You are obviously quite experienced with this. I will look these up and reach out. Thanks brother |

Geovanni412: Not financial advice
If you want quick money, you should be prepared to lose everything as well.
If that is the case, pay attention to kobo stocks like japaul gold and unity bank
You can lose it all in the stock market
If you are more patient, you can look at solid underpriced companies like interbreweries. Quick money? That’s not the intention… With inter breweries - will my investment lose its value ? For example in the US, Amazon stocks have been quite resilient and over the years. Increase in Value… stocks that have been doing well in the market will be preferable for beginners in the Nigerian market. Separately, how do you trade ? Is there like an app that you can recommend? Or you use brokers. |

Does anyone know how and what sort of stocks to buy / thinking about value increasing?
Thinking of naira investments of between 500k to 1m for a start.
I can afford some level of risk / just not sure how people go about doing it.
Practical recommendations will be welcome / not conjecture pls.
Thanks |

You know the man too - he is such a joke. He has been writing to the FBI and US Government asking for disclosure of criminal information on Asiwaju. The US government will never meddle in the internal politics of the greatest black nation on earth - especially now that they need allies. They keep pushing an Obi Agenda forgetting that a case is in Court which is very unlikely to succeed because the infractions in some state in that election is not enough to account for the voting numbers differences or overturn the election. It’s difficult for people to see the truth when they are fixated on an idea in the air - but the US will never speak against Tinubu unless a Nigerian court declares otherwise. |

lhordspy: Maybe i am wrong BUT This doesnt make sense. NBC is a regulating commission, it should have power to be able to sanction erring broadcasting organisation without having to rely on the judiciary.
Instead it is the broadcasting organisation that should file a case at the court if they are not satisfy with the sanctions imposed on them. I agree. That judgement is delivered per incuriam. As long as the NBC Act has empowered it to regulate the industry - it cannot have recourse to the court and enforcemenft agencies every time it wants to investigate noncompliance, impose sanctions and exercise its function. That’s a rubbish judgement and should be upturned on appeal. |

APC is making this appeal about Peter Obi. If the party agrees to pick him as the presidential candidate with unopposed candidates, then why should that be the concern of APC?
Besides, political parties win elections in Nigeria, not individuals. They didn't react to the claim that Bola Tinubu is an ex-druglord. I guess they intentionally ignored it or reporter didn't mention it. See @Clevite reply for your information. It’s very good to understand a bit of law before you comment on legal issues. First of all, this is not yet their defence. This is just a Preliminary Objection to get the case dismissed on point of law. They are yet to respond to the substantive issues of the Petition as filed by Peter Obi. Wait until they respond to Shettima's qualification, Tinubu's drug, 25% at FCT and rigging issues. Be sure APC may file Cross-petition to challenge Obi's results in South East too. |

Be sure APC may file Cross-petition to challenge Obi's results in South East too. You know the Law! Well said! The preliminary objections are quite punchy - sammarily: 1. Peter Obi does not have locus to contest the election and bring the petition at all; 2. failure to add Atiku/PDP to the petition is a huge miss, as PO can’t be declared winner if at all he is successful without first discountenancing Atiku’s votes; 3. no pleadings on polling units disruptions individually; and 4. PO’s petition is fraught with pre-election matters - and the Tribunal itself does not have jurisdiction to hear the matter. Law is interesting! Let’s see how this place out and watch out for the Defence & potential cross petition. |

Depends on the type of work you do….
If you do corporates - most likely you will be expected to work weekends/late nights.
Of course, there are benefits to these - such as extra bonus for volume/value of transactions you closed in a financials year - in addition to it looking good on your end of year appraisal/promotion.
That said, it is always helpful to set boundaries and provide your team with information if you have commitments that will make you unavailable! |

Zonefree: An institution for higher learning giving accolades for producing bread, I mean BREAD
When other universities in the world are breaking records in Aeronautics, medical sciences, Engineering etc, Nigerian universities are busy celebrating producing Bread. Not like the Bread is even Bread of Life.
Nigeria is retrogressing rapidly. It’s not entirely bad - if the facility employs staff and Students studying food tech / bakery related courses. There might be an argument that it provides hands on experience for the students whilst helping to generate funds. I think what’s unacceptable is monopolising the bread market in the School. That’s anti-competitive and the FCCPC may consider this illegal. |

SmartPolician: Imagine Scotland and UK letting people they once considered their inferiors to rule over them.
To be honest, the West is millions of miles ahead of Africans. If we still deal with tribalism after 100 years of amalgamation, it would probably take Nigeria one million years to start thinking like these people from the West. This comparison is incorrect and is generally a slippery slope. The UK is a largely homogeneous society - whereas Nigeria has over 250 ethnic groups, all divided over ethnic, political and religious lines. UK leaders are selected by Parties, not directly by the electorates as applicable in Nigeria. Less room for politicians to exploit people’s sentiments. It won’t take Nigeria 1 million years… we each have to do our parts and be optimistic for the future. |

Isobug: Court Cases are different. If one failed with a particular prayer another person may succeed with the same prayer in the same court. It's not yet time for jubilation. Meanwhile, Court proceedings are all about evidence. The judges claimed Atiku has no legal basis to institute the case. If your lawyers Provide enough evidence the case is yours nomatter the locus Do you understand what locus mean in Law? Bing ai search would be helpful for you but suffice to say that LP does not have Locus on this line of prayer. Moreover, that sort of matter is a pre-election matter Nd would hardly qualify as a reason to remove a candidate with the majority vote. You can check the grounds under which a candidate may bring a post-election petition in the Electoral Act. Only relevant issues to raise is the irregularities alleged against the election: Failure to use electronic machines to upload polling station results, which could allow for vote tampering. Discrepancies between the photo evidence of vote counts and the actual results uploaded to INEC’s portal. Violence and voter intimidation in some areas, especially in the south-south and south-east regions. Delays and technical problems in opening some polling centers and counting votes. Manipulation of votes and collation of results in favor of the ruling party. And the numbers decripancies! Every other matter alleged in PO’s petition have been decided & overflogged severally in Courts, even by Obasanjo & Gani Fawehinmi of blessed memory, since 1999 / and judicial precedent will largely apply here. |
