And he had to post it online to seek attention.... what nonsense and the woman is even laughing, allowed him to post it online... Africans are too shallow minded,, This is a practice that have been going on amongs white couples and in the western world,, what seems normal is now something Africans wants a round of applause for..... We build a house, we want people to know.... The government gives a communtiy a new transformer,, the public praises the government... Africans are celebrating mediocricy and this is why almost the whole of Africa are still under developed...
People do this all the time here in the Uk bro: and I guess other part of the world too LIKE YOU MENTIONED. I get your point... buh I guess there is no hard and fast rule about appreciating your woman.

Thing is... we gat to do what we gat to do to make ourselves feel happy - the world is too messed up abeg. Plus, I have learnt to stop drawing inferences when a black man does something a white man do or do not do. First off, we'all humans and social media has created a splendid avenue for social/cultural integration. second, it ridicules us when we discredit an act simply because the whites do or do not do same (the recent dove cream advert is an example).

With the government showcasing small projects thingy... spot on sir!

And that was the end of Olu. Lived a life that doesn't glory God.

Lesson learnt...

1. Say you be Bad guy No mean say you get two lives. You die, we cry, the party continues.

2. Follow me make we go drink, follow me make we go do faaji, join me make we smoke igbo... When you die, you are definitely going to be on your own and the faaji continues the following weekend.

3. Don't pray to be rich and live big like some people cause the way they will go down ain't go'n be nice.

4. Living fast and furiously will only lead you to one destination. 6ft under.

Let the dead bury their dead. Rip
As much as you have good intentions... I don't think it's right to judge another. The psalmist says. If we are to mark for sins, who can stand?. Don't cast the first stone sir.

CareerWhich Is Better To Have - Dreams, Visions Or Goals? by Venerable612(op): 6:27am On Oct 09, 2017
I have struggled with these concepts. Is there really any difference, which of them should we aspire towards, and how do we imbibe it into our lives? Thing is - it just seems many dreams do not come true.

I am hoping we can relate with this dilemma and share our thoughts on this.
CelebritiesRe: Spesh Reacts To DJ Olu's Death "They Should Tell What They Used Him For" by Venerable612(m): 5:26pm On Oct 08, 2017
It is well...

Death is a given and no respecter of persons. An average 105 people die every minute over the world - so I don't think it's important whether 2 of the deaths occurred to members of same crew. Whatever the cause of the deaths, I think the wrong message is being passed.

I think Ts a time to reconsider our steps and remind ourselves that riches and beauty is fleeting and frail; a short while, we'all be dead. At death, we will realise the futility of things. Let's live humbly and piously.

Shalom

tongues can be interpreted. some people receive the understanding to what they are saying when they speak in tongues, in fact when you speak in tongues and your mind is sensitive to receive from God, you will receive something and that's the interpretation to your tongues.
Please, is it possible to confirm this comment via a scripture?

I think that will really help. In my experience, I have found that our mind, even when we pray in tongues, paints a picture of what we want it to mean. I do not say you are wrong that people receive understanding of what they pray about. But I prefer to have a biblical authority for the matter so we could learn from it.

Hmmmm, so speaking in tongues is different frm prophesy? Pls I'm also curious, Wat if one speaks in tongue nd immediately deres an another also in d spirit interpreting Wat d first was saying? Wat will one call dat?
Hello,

I believe you are referring to the form of prophecy and interpretation found in our traditional churches and Celestial and K&S. I think that that is prophecy. It is a gift to those who can speak and interprete the tongues, and it is perhaps the one that apostle Paul was referring to as what we should aspire towards in I cor 14... because only prophecy edifies the church.

However, I do not think it is a sign of the Holy Ghost baptism. The ability to speak in tongues comes when a person receives the Holy Spirit, put differently l, baptised in the Holy Spirit after they give their lives to Christ. This kind of tongue, I assume, cannot be interpreted by anyone except God gives the person speaking understanding - but apostle in I cor 14 himself said our understanding is unfruitful here because God himself prays through us.

Crux.

I think prophesy is a spiritual gift - just like the gift of faith, words of wisdom, interpretation to tongues etc in I cor 12. Not every one can have it, buh we can all pray for it and it's for the edification of the Church (the body of Christ)

Speaking in tongues is a sign of Holy Ghost baptism, Acts 1:8. Every Christian is entitled to this. And it's more for the edification for the Self.

I hope this helps.

Sighs.

That is the problem today. Pastors seeking to impress the congregation will start doing what they know is unscriptural. Please don't ever say Amen to those. It is not biblical and even dangerous.

Prophecies are one ofGod's way of edifying us Christians.

Simply put, they are God's words and instructions to the congregation.

I'm on mobile right now so I really can't type long.

Suffice to say prophesies always comes out of a true Christian gathering.
I think you are right. We are not meant to say Amen when others pray in tongues... even pastors... because we do not understand what he they are praying for. We can only do so when they prophesy. I just do not know if prophecy can also come in form of tongues. It was as if Apostle Paul was referring to Prophecy as some form of tongues too. It's a shame that there is not much authority on the matter.

Lol... at least you still do. It's the same graphics since I was a kid. It's a waste of tax payers money. If NTA has a satellite dish, is being watched all over Africa, covers extensive news from the African continent - or put differently, is the CNN and Al Jazeera of Africa... that would have been so lovely considering how far back they established it. Funny enough, the reception was so bad in my area in Ayobo, we hardly even can watch bit without twisting and turning the antenna back then

Wish the OP can move this to front page at least to sensitize the government and necessary individuals of these issues. They really need to consider revamping their programs.

I am not sure you have a data to back up the assumption that they still have a lot of readers. I suppose it depends on your definition of 'a lot' and how it fairs in comparison with its competitiors.

With regards to your point on advertisement, I am not an advertisement expert, but I would imagine price and network coverage plays huge roles. No one is arguing they do not have airview anymore, the problem is they have simply refused to innovate.

Its a representation of the failure of Nigeria as a state. CNN, BBC, Al Jazeera and the likes are state owned and look at how much they have developed over the years.

NTA - same graphics, same old, dull and obsolete programs, no innovation. No good offerings - Very pathetic. I wish this could make FP may be this could make everyone, including the government, conscious of this and perhaps the people concerned can pack up or innovate.

TV/MoviesCan We Switch NTA Off? by Venerable612(op): 8:10am On Jul 09, 2017
“I know very well that I’m one of the last five people who still watch NTA in this world. If you doubt me, tell me when last did you sit to watch the station for three straight hours? Trust me, it’s not because I love what they do…perhaps it’s because old habits die hard. I grew up like many of my generation, watching NTA being the inspiration in some ways. But as at today, I think it’ll be a good idea to switch NTA off perhaps for one year…because it is such a bad sell inside the country and worst of all, a terrible export for us (Not to worry, I do want the staff to be paid to save families and avoid some third mainland inspired moments).

Quite honestly, as a broadcaster and broadcast manager, I don’t think you need more than one quadrant of your brain to fix NTA within a two-year plan and make it the most-watched channel once again. So tonight, while working, I sat and ended up with NTA news, then some show with Al Mustapha on called then some show by Aliyu Baba Barau called “Moment for Thought”. I think everyone in NTA should be mandated (like they say to all NTA stations when expecting them to hook up to the network service) to watch the show. Sadly not for the content, but for the title. They really need a moment for thought!

As if that was not enough, then came one “funny show” by our legend, Segun Odegbami (I preferred his shows on Saturday morning back in the early 90s). I love the man and he is a national treasure, I will skip.

It hurts to see the “potential” goldmine that NTA is, and how the talents it can help develop in our nation going to waste. How can you have over 40 channels and physical stations and not have content competing with or surpassing the BBC? How can you have a country of 190 million potential content providers, viewers and more and yet have your name not on the front row of all the major global TV content events?

How on earth do you inspire some of who have gone ahead to do so well in stations around the world, birth great broadcasters, a great chunk of the pioneers of Nollywood and then leave them out in the cold and now look like you were barren all your life?

Does the minister of information even make up that list of five people watching NTA with me? Does the acting President at least put up an “act” and try to watch NTA? I won’t mention the president, so it doesn’t become a political conversation!

Perhaps the next I will be watching NTA would be when my aunt in Kaduna calls to tell me to watch because the NTA team came to their church and they’re going to air the programme at 9pm. Anyhow, let me just stop my “vex” and do what we all thankfully can do (sadly at the expense of NTA)…change the channel. Someday, I hope in changing channels, I will be flipping to stop at an NTA channel due to some world- class offering which I am hopeful will come again. But until then…I can do with some #soundcitytv #trybetv #spicetv #ontv or just “kuku” switch off the TV and turn on “man’s most faithful companion”…the radio!

Meanwhile, whoever is in charge of NTA, my two cents is that they should not waste any more of tax payers money in buying diesel to fuel all those “NTA” stations. That ship, the one filled with eager viewers appears to have sailed on to better ‘waters’ of better picture, better sound, neutral reporting, great series, documentaries and thought engaging game shows.

And what’s this I hear about 30 (or is it 60 million?) people watching NTA? Someone needs to change the information to “30/60 million people ‘used to’ watch NTA. Remember, we are only five people still left, please.”

lol bro!

There is a well drawn line between "well fed" and "being successful".

Don't mind those politicians using the tactics of divide to rule us.

If Atiku eventually succeeded in achieving his age long ambition of becoming the President of Nigeria, do you think he could grant the secession of any part of the country?
Do you think he can grant the secession of Biafra, since he is calling for secession?
Of course, you can't tell he will. But at the same time you can't tell he will not either. Atiku is just another cog in the wheel of those who think seperating is the best bet out of the woods for Nigeria. The fact that he is a politician doesn't mean he is wrong either.

My final year thesis was on Nigeria's political framework. And you will be dazed at the avalanche of literatures on this subject. Nigeria is a failed state. The population should have been a blessing, but its not. The population is not productive at all. Everyone relies on the government and blames the government for everything. Too many people getting married and having kids in penury.

Very few people thinks. The society is too fragmented. Little or no regional development. Each state is supposed to generate its power, or at least, given responsibilities to do so. 180 million people only manage 5000 watts of energy and SA, just abt 50million, generates 45,000 watts. So much sunlight and wind, and we can't even harness these resources.

The sooner we realize we can do better for ourselves divided, the better.

Our kids should not be born into this chaos.

Yes, OP, in the sense that tongues are meant to be interpreted. Paul clearly says this in 1Cor chapter 14 vs 13.

Again, no in the sense that tongues are a spiritual language.
Whoever is conversing in tongues is speaking directly to God and no man can understand him naturally.

Let me say this, every Christian should speak in tongues. Its not something mystical reserved for the few.

Shalom.
I get this dilemma. I think when we pray in tongues, we pray to God and the Spirit Itself helps to pray, so that we do not need to understand what we are praying for. But when Pastors do this on the pupilt and people say Amen, do the pastors pray in tongues by faith, or they understand what their prayers means. I am also curious as to what prophecy means; I mean the one to be interpreted - I cor 14:3.
