MJBOLT:
nobody needs a black Legolas, they should stick to the script and stop pandering to black people.
No be say them even like the blacks in the first place
Elves, like humans, have dark and light skin tones, thus Legolas being dark skinned isn't farfetched. |

Kaycee7: Exactly. We've already got the elves for conventional eye candy. Give us dwarven women as Tolkien intended. This is the way. |

Kaycee7: I mean, it's not like we don't know what Dwarven women look like Sure, but I'd love to see dwarven women, full beards and deep voices and all, in live action. It would be glorious. |

WriterNig: Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power Characters
1. Lady Galadriel. Commander Of The Northern Forces
2. A Black Elf. Legolas Replacement Apparently
3. Dwarven Princess Disa.
4. Lord Elrond
#LOTR
What A Shame! Truly a shame. A missed opportunity to accurately portray dwarven women. |

Nickshrapnel: They’ve learnt, they let Gunn did his thing with The Suicide squad and Reeves with The Batman. I'm not sure about the Reeves' part. They were threatening to shorten The Batman's runtime not long ago. Not that I blame them in this instance. |

Moviegoers would sure love to spend three hours in a theater watching a CSI Batman collect samples and obsess over DNA residue. That would be an engrossing viewing indeed! |

SMUAG: I take exception to a few. Those movies were the climax of over 20 (stand to be corrected) movies, so it will definitely get the hypes... After realizing that both were indeed released over the holiday season, I made some changes to my post. @bolded, the same argument can be made for NWH, as it is the climax of three separate Spider-Man films and so was bound to be warmly received. |

SMUAG: Holidays are one major factor that really boosts cinemas tickets sales, brother. Hard disagree. Edit; on second thought, you're right in that regard, but there are other factors. |

webhead: You have a point sha....
But, judging from what we've seen in the trailers, I think the movie is going to be a bit unique from previous batman movies–the movie feels very similar to the daredevil Netflix series (I wonder which trailers you're watching by the way) As per the trailers and leaked images, they seem to be trying to go old school (noir-esque), but even that has its limits. The best noir are those that don't drag on too long and are exciting enough to keep the viewer interested. Furthermore, noir is a niche genre that caters to a specific audience. In that sense, noir is often rated R. Meanwhile, The Batman is a noir film that is not only excessively long but also PG-13 rated. If this isn't a disaster waiting to happen, I don't know what is. It not only has an identity crisis, but it also appears to be targeted at the wrong demographic. It has all the makings of a flop, as I have stated. |

LordTheus: You're sounding a little too confident here. Your points might be valid but I don't necessarily see how this would translate to a poor box office outing It has all the hallmarks of a dud. The obvious does not require a rocket science. The only ones who are seemingly blind to them are the fanboys. |

SMUAG: Ye, but all your points were possible for the mainstream audience to really binge (in the context of multiple views) on it because of the luxury time/period it was released. I bet you No Way Home will not do the numbers it has done (now) if it was released in Feb or March.
Note: I had to take my younger ones to see it too because they were out of school during that period.... NWH is simply a fan service masterpiece that brazenly exploited our nostalgia by bringing our favorite characters to life. Suffice to say, it wouldn't make much of a difference if it was released in February, March, or June; it would still do similar numbers. |
TV/Movies › Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by VerifiedStalin: 1:33pm On Feb 10, 2022 |
SMUAG: Abeg, make we dey calm down with all dis our shoot for the star guesstimation for The Batman. I think with what I have seen, I really want it to do perfect numbers at the end, but that shouldn't blindfold me to start making some hyperbolic predictions and when it doesn't measure up I'll start blaming covid-19 and the rest.... We should not forget that No Way Home was released at the perfect time - a time when "people just really want to catch fun", no matter the obstacles in front, why The Batman will not be having that luxury.... There's a lot more to it than that. I won't get into specifics, but it entails conveying a profound and intense personal story while interweaving in multiversal Spider-Man personas, yet navigating through the mayhem to deliver a more than adequate end product. |

You're exaggerating I'm not. I believe Pattinson subconsciously wishes for the film to fail, as he does not exude confidence whenever he talks about it.

abduleez1: I no even dey doubt shït again....
The Batman would do mad numbers. It's looking like it will surpass $125mn. I only see marketing gimmicks here. They're doing everything they can to get people to come see the movie, but it all comes down to the substance. There won't be a lot of ticket sales in the following weeks if it's a borefest. Reality is often disappointing. |

TV/Movies › Re: DC EXTENDED UNIVERSE (FILM) by VerifiedStalin: 7:15am On Feb 10, 2022 |
pu7pl3: Don't worry, I'm sacrificing myself for all of you already... $1.5bn unwavering "The Batman," I reiterate, will not be a financially successful film. In a recent interview, Pattinson stated that the film will be depressing, and that Bruce will be an oddball. Like when has Bruce ever not been weird? The man is a multibillionaire who moonlights as a vigilante dressed as a bat, fighting criminals with his fists and mentoring juvenile soldiers. Bruce Wayne has always been a weirdo, and the Batman films have always been depressing. It's a trope we've seen many times before. Ergo, The Batman, based on what I've seen so far, including trailers, synopses, interviews, and leaked images, isn't going to be new or particularly original; it'll be more or less like its predecessors, but slightly more boring. It's a flop waiting to happen, I can't wait for March. |
