That thread is possibly the worst thing I've read in my life. If you can lock it or get it locked, please JeSoul, I'll be happier. |
The story is true. It has all the 'little things' To tell you the truth, I'm so pent up with emotion right now. Truly I thought I had understood how terrible human beings can be. Many many people call me naive and too trusting. They tell me I'm too open. To sum it up, I'm not sure yet if there's anyone I truly hate but, Labake, I do not like you one bit. I detest everything that you are. I cannot wrap my head around you taking glee from the misfortune of someone who was supposed to be your friend. You have evil in you and I swear I've never been so disgusted by another human being. I'm glad that you are faceless for you would plague my dreams. Fantasia. Many people think you were stupid for coming here. I think you were too because your problem was not knowing the options. Your problem was choosing. Either your family or your man. I can understand the terrible conundrum that must have been because I've dated someone like you. In this whole thing your crime was folly but that is not the trait of evil or good. I don't know if you'll read this but I have advice and I wish you'll take it. Leave the two lovers alone. If Funaya is truly your man, he'll miss you and come back. Just leave the door open in case he's either too proud or too ashamed to knock. If he doesn't come back, then you may thank Labake's talons for snatching him away. Plus there's no age limit for true love. Not 30 or 40 or 70. Wait. If you don't find the right bloke, don't marry. Marriage is not key to happiness. You'll be ok. Mr. Funaya. To me you're one of two things. An idiot for letting the asinine writings of religious hotheads spoil a thing you had going for four years. It only shows how much you thought of the relationship. If you for one second think that that psychopath Labake is capable of true love - hell, she's probably not capable of warmth - then you'll suffer long. Or you're a spoilt kid who thinks the world revolves around him. Your calm is a false one and is only to emotionally sabotage people. If you're like this then I hope you and Labake have a happy life. At least until she dumps you for someone else. A word of advice though. Never love a woman because of things that will change. If you think Labake is younger and prettier, well, that won't last forever. My mum says a yoruba proverb to me which roughly translates: character is like smoke. The unsaid conclusion is that one can never hide it. For too long at least. I propose this thread be locked. Low lifes will feast on it. |
Haba. Your cup is micro full na and not macro empty. Lol. I'm a student of logic. One of my many pet interests. You're either a maliced elephant or you're not. If you aren't, my calling you so doesn't make you one. If you are, my calling you so shouldn't offend you especially when I'm praising your exceptional ability of recall. Hope I'm off the hook and off topic. That's what now? Back to 6million cards eh? P.S. I'm expecting my 6 bars. In mp3 format too |
You want to prove a point abi, Obinna? Very funny pictures. Arnold's wife should've auditioned for a role in Drag Me To Hell. Cher and Barbara are just plain scary though I'm not surprised about Cher. Moonstruck has been a while. Asides these some people look better to me without their makeup, like America and not Ricci. |
MyJoe has got it on the head o. Absolutely. I find myself wondering as you wonder now about Max' relative endorsement of the other gospels. Maybe she's just a human being that has come to her own conclusions and it just so happens that Paul pops up anywhere she has a problem with the bible. Maybe she thinks there are mistakes and misleading or doctored information throughout the entire bible but she takes exception to Paul because she feels he's a self proclaimed prophet and the other apostles don't even call themselves that at all, so for a given misinformation, one will be error of judgement and the other will be deliberate propaganda. I hope I make sense. |
JeSoul. I feel like listening to you play your guitar. And you flatter me too much. I'm not saying you should flatter me small either. Deepsight has a statistical point. But then religion is irrelevant because most adherents of a religion do not practice it to the letter. There are many nominal Christians, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists etc. And if there were such a thing as the right religion, I don't think up to 2% of that religion will be TRUE believers in that 'true' religion. Finito. About the question you guys are asking Max, I have a small answer that I'll post later when I can form my thoughts. My problems don't stop at Paul's teachings. I believe some of the 'apostles' are honestly mistaken about some things they write about. . . . . . and that's not taking into account the things they 'wrote' that they probably never had anything to with. I think Noetic and Max got off on the wrong foot. Or maybe it's because they understand each other perfectly but I know Max and it seems JeSoul knows Noetic. Make una no fight. Max. Do you have a thing for serial killers? Why, you named three! Haba! I confess that I'm fascinated by them but not their acts o. Just would like to dismantle their brains and know what shorted. Off topic. I noticed JeSoul is the new mod here. Damn! That's like what, 6million Get Out Of Jail Free cards. Whoo. I'm dizzy. |
I rarely have time for good movies. Wack movies. Are you kidding me? |
Before Sunset, After Sunset, Almost Sunset. Make up your mind na. Wetin you wan call am? I've not seen it. I'm busy now jare. I'll see it by monday. If I don't cry, you will. . . . . and it won't be because you were touched. . . . . . or maybe it will. |
After all this here thread is about Paul. He's one odd fellow this Paul. Grandiose. I'm not sure if he had good motives or not because it seems the case against him are as strong as those for him. I think either way, he has a holier-than-thou complex. Oh, Noetic. I understand your frustrations more than you'd know but you shouldn't be calling Max names. That's very unchristian like. Besides it's counter productive cuz now you might never get a reply from her again. Coward? That's going too far! I don't wanna be like you when I grow up. JeSoul sweetie, na here you come hide? Sometimes I forget to simply check people's last posts to locate them. How you dey? Max is somewhat like me in the sense that I know I'll live once and I can't take a chance and believe what's a lie. I detest lies. JeSoul is like me in another sense. I wanna feel warm inside all the time. Sometimes, I agonize over whether I'm doing the right thing. Often I get paralyzed into inaction cuz I dunno what I'm doing. I like to follow an invisible compass. My spiritual guts. But there's an obvious point of divergence. There are instances where an empirical Max-like reasoning will do. There are others where only a Book-of-Eli JeSoul-like reasoning will do. One or the other. In my experience, most people will believe without question what is written if that thing aligns with the person's already formed ideas. Conversely, when there's a clash of views the person usually then seeks proof or dismisses that part altogether without even bothering. I think faith and proof should not be mutually exclusive. If I tell you I have faith in something, it is because I have demanded proof before and I am satisfied enough times and no longer require proof for other scenarios. You can't just come and say Hey, dude. Here are a few things for you to believe But they don't make any sense Yeah, I know. You gotta have faith. That's the way it works. Oh? |
I can bet you that this thing he's doing will become common place very soon |
On the flip side, some people have such an overly developed sense and taste for the dramatic that almost anything that holds a contrary view to 'accepted' truth must be true almost solely on that premise alone. It is so outrageous it must be true. Most conspiracy theorists are like this. It is my opinion that give a clever guy a starting point and an end, he'll weave plots so profound, so believable, so under-your-nose-like that you'll believe it in a second. Until the next clever guy comes along and have you believe in something else. I think Mr. Dan Brown knows this or he's like this himself. ![]() |
teeluv, Damon is a damn good actor. One of my favourites. He's so versatile and I think of the guys in his age group, he's only matched by D'Caprio and maybe Brad Pitt. Funny, how iice admits that Affleck is a good director/writer. I haven't seen Gone Baby, Gone but I saw Goodwill Hunting and that is enough to earn him points. Being childhood friends with Matt Damon too helps. His acting negates all that. I like Kidman jare. Bite me |
I'm on the fence about Iron man II. I've not seen the trailer awyway. I like J. J. sha so we'll see. It was funny seeing his cameo in Incredible Hulk. I think that's how J. J. likes to pass his messages across |
This is the main reason why I reject mainstream Christianity. The poster has a very nice slant to things and frankly I'm getting really angry with people with agendas and 'slants' to things. Why can't we just call a spade a spade. Christianity (at least the mainstream) believes you're doomed no matter how good you are, no matter how many people's lives you change for the better, no matter how meek and timid and harmless you are. As long as you don't believe God incarnated and got murdered on your behalf, you're done for and are unworthy of his presence. I always ask what is God saving us from? Himself? Our selves? The devil? What exactly? It must be pretty terrible for him to undergo the indignity of walking amongst us and dying by our hands (in the cruelest way possible). |
Bravo. More like it o. Calm calm. lol. Max, the terrible. I typed a long post earlier and it started to get personal. Thank God the thing no post. Bottomline was that I don't tell people everything I believe is true because the human psyche turns in on itself and refuses to accept glaring turth because of the hatred for the person telling him. Instead I point them in the right direction and encourage them to read more and be more open. Me sef, I'm having trouble identifying truth among all the plethora of falsehood. I can readily recognize falsehood but not so for truth. |
He was the most honest president we ever had. He was sincere but not very effective but it wasn't cuz he didn't try. Many others could have done far better with the resources at their disposal but they DIDN'T. So adieu my president. So long Ahem, that said. Why is this thread here? |
I'm almost scared to post here. Max, take am easy na. The truth is very brutal as it is already. The way you are dropping your nukes will disillusion some people to oblivion. Temper temper |
Justcool and Max summed it all up nicely. The supernatural has nothing to do with spirituality. Spirituality has some stuff to do with the supernatural. Supernatural phenomena is depends on what you regard to be the purview of the natural. Things either are or they aren't. For us to know what is truly supernatural, we must somehow prove we have COMPLETE understanding of ALL that is natural. So mazaje has a valid point and a moot one also. The 'supernatural' in the common sense does not prove the existence of God (especially as most believers in God believe he transcends all laws and isn't bound by them). This I believe is mazaje's point which really is interesting because I'll stick out a limb and an organ and say 99% of the human race believe in God or some prophet because of some 'supernatural' activity they experienced themselves or vicariously. Max. Haba. I'm joking na! I saw this film with Brad Pitt in it. The things he went through alone dissuades this poor boy. I'd still go to Tibet. . . . just to have a chat and maybe drink some tea. |
Ehen. Don't mention. Good girl. Go and take the kulikuli on top of the fridge and later you can watch Aki and Pawpaw |
Ahem. Do you feel like thanking anyone? No? Are you sure? Yes? Huh? Ok, I thought you said no. |
Your take is simplistic and frankly the easiest route. What I would give to believe the things you believe but my soul knows there's more. Way more. Sometimes I like the pantheistic belief that we're all chunks of God but I reject that especially now that I'm getting older and coming to terms with the evil human beings are capable of. Right now, I don't know what to believe. I only know what not to believe. The process of elimination will bring me somewhere sooner or later. @Max. I've been enchanted by Tibet since I was a kid o. I used to read T. Lobsang Rampa books when I was like thirteen. I couldn't make out if I was reading fiction or real account or something in between. I read other books and magazines, saw documentaries and I think those dudes know something. I'll go whine and make them make me privy to their secrets. Uh, the ones I can handle. On a side note. I wonder if it took you millenia to come up with those links, mazaje. I bet it didn't. Hmmm. I'd have sworn you needed to buy some supercomputer time and employ a super hacker too. |
My thoughts exactly. Only now, the duo are not trying to kill each other first. This J. J. dude is a really busy guy o. Has someone told him he'll die by 50? |
I'd resolved to just be a spectator at all the enchanting posts on here especially as I know next to nothing about all this stuff. Frankly I feel like picking some brains. I just couldn't help ejaculating my pleasure with this thread. Noetic, since you don't know Max, you are excused to take what she says with a pinch of salt or a bucket for that matter. But your last post was uncalled for. I know she'll probably have my head for forming Superman but I can't help it. |
Dolly9 rhymes with. . . . . if I say F, you say O, another man say L, omo na you sabi. My guy Thirdborn has already stole my thunder. Fake effects. I nearly burst a gut on that one. Maybe I should see this Figurine thing. I've not seen Jenifa yet either. I'm a hopeless hater |
You're in the wrong neck of the woods, Goldielux |
With m_nwankwo's last post, my attitude has changed. I'm kowtowing animatedly. I think I'll visit Tibet one day, not to practice anything myself. I just wanna observe and experience some things vicariously. I couldn't stop laughing with the exchanges between Max and Noetic. Noetic, you should count yourself lucky she answered you. . . . . twice! Normally, she'll just ignore you, man. No vex |
Lol. I like you more now. Rarely do people just say their mind nowadays. Alright, Mr. Nwankwo, thanks anyway. |
I think people just discover both Encyclopedias and say thanks, but no thanks to your database. Good luck though |
That gives me goosebumps. I loved the Tintin cartoons. I'm gonna love this |
Fascinating stuff as usual. Especially the part about the transfiguration but I still get the feeling that you're trying to find a hand that fits the glove instead of finding a glove that fits the hand, if you catch my drift. Meanwhile, I'd appreciate answers to those questions that puzzle me, if you please. I would sleep better understanding some stuff. |
Oh huxley. I like you. I really do but I always wonder why you put so much effort into talking sense to us all superstitious humans. What's in it for you? What could you possibly gain from that. Eternal 'I told you so' rights? What? The way I see it, not all things that are unprovable are untrue. For instance, take your water examples. We know hydrogen combines with oxygen to make water but we cannot really know how. All we do is theorize. Also the seemingly unshakable belief you have that is the most intelligent animal makes it impossible for you to accept that there are simply things beyond your understanding. Even the things we understand and accept now (such as electromagnetism, gravity, gravity, earth's shape, the living cell etc) are probably as unbelievable and out of a neanderthal's scope and are only a culmination of the cumulative little discoveries and breakthroughs throughout the history of man. But I talk too much. It is infinitely harder to prove something does not exist than to prove it does. So if you ask why I think God exists, I might ask you why not. |
Chill teeluv. Everyone is entitled to the occasional booboo. Besides Spielberg is someone I think people use as endorsement. He might not really have much to do with the series . . . . . which I've not seen by the way |
