I really believe it's about differences,when will people learn to be tolerant,after we are done getting rid of the gays,does it mean the igbo and hausa will see themselves as one and not see the differences,look at nairaland political section and see that the problem we have in this country is people not being able to look past differences,be it regional,zonal,ethnic,religion,educational advancement,culture,everybody wants everybody to believe in his believes gays are not our priority in this country? Funny how some of the people promoting bigotry here while bashing the british resides in britain,seriously, if you are so passionate about your homophobia campaign,why don't you leave the perverted british for your holy nigeria,i guess the goodies the brits have to offer is too tempting,even there in britain,we still have bigots,but the truth is that such bigots don't get to wield power,unlike here where bigots wield power,and you wonder why the country is in limbo. Someone was suggesting a referendum on homosexuality,seriously,since when has what two consenting adults do become top on the list of our priority in this country,apart from hiding behind an abandoned tradition and a foreign religion,what do we have against homosexuals apart from the fact that what they do is disgusting and gross,how does what is disgusting to people affect the price of kerosene and petrol,the state of our infrastruction and economy,heck! I find the act of applying red lipsticks by some ladies disgusting and gross,so what next? Call a referendum to see who is with me so that we can ban ban red lipstick in nigeria,i am sure papa kumuiyi and his deeper life members will support me,the question is, how does any of these apart from pleasing the bigots improve our standard of living in this country. Don't we have a bigger fish to fry? How about our much needed sovereign national conference,how about a referendum to know who still wants to remain in this country,why are our leaders chasing shadows? Notice how easy it was to make a law against gays and how difficult it was to pass the FOI bill. Bigotry in all forms should be condemed,you find it difficult to understand how a man will want to shag another man,likewise does the racist who cornered you in an alley with a knife is finding it difficult to understand why a man should chose the wear a black skin rather than a white skin,oh! Wouldn't you want him to understand you were born black,goodluck trying to convince him. |

This is the second brainwashing wind of change the white man is directing towards us,like the first wind( which was their education and religion),when calm is restored,africans will not remain the same. At times like this, it pays to be flexible,bigotry will not help anybody, ever wondered what happened to men who refused to bend to the white man's first wind,they became irrelevant,they brought poverty to their unborn generation, today we know that the families whose forefathers were seen as traitors by our people,for hastily abandoning the ancient ways are now seen as elites in our midsts today,when they speak, people listen. During the early 70's,a woman wearing trousers was considered wayward,as our people were not used to a woman wearing a garment between her thighs,those days such deviants who violate this rule were mocked in the streets,villages and homes,children will always sing mock songs for them when they walk down the streets or villages,today you hardly see a woman who does not wear trousers today,anyone that doesn't is deemed timid. In a few years to come,anyone who says anything against gays will be deemed timid and stupid,it has happened before and nothing will prevent it from happening again,the warrant chiefs,the "cotuma" sold us in the past,the politicians will sell us today  |

The hausaman can't even remember the name of the gods of his ancestors,he has been brainwashed,he now kill his fellow africans in the name of the god of the arabs,yet he screams about his tradition,which tradition? It's funny how some people will condem homosexuallity using christian belief introduced by a white man to africa,don't give me the crap about the church existing in egypt before the white man became christians,for all we know,christainity was introduced into most african communities by the whites,atleast i am sure about igboland,societies always change,people that are flexible survives the change,while bigots get swept out of the surface of the earth by the wind of change. Not long ago our ancestors fought against the white man's religion and education,people like okonkwo in things fall apart refused to bend and was swept off by the wind of change,i wonder what our ancestors will be saying in their graves,we have abandoned our gods for the god of the white man,any one who refuses to take the white man's education and religion and take the ways of our ancestors is looked upon as an evil man,how can you guys say our tradition forbids man-loving-men,which tradition? The one you abandoned for the white ways? Every where in igboland has turned to a white man's shrine,people worship him in the form of Mary statue(madonna),they respect and honor his priests,a seating governor in igboland became unpopular,but his fate was sealed when he beated the white man's priest,Amadioha,Ojukwu,Ifejioku,Ngene,Ogwugwu,Odoh,kamalu,igwekala,etc,are dying of thirst,when was the last time you visited them,since you so much like your ancestor's tradition,they have been termed evil,no one wants to serve them again,while the white man's shrine is flooded with cattle,goat,money,etc,and you wonder why all is not well.Ever heard of a tradition without religion? I love the way the asaba man says "wa" rather than fa. Aro dialect is easy to understand,i have a friend who hails from ugwuavo arochukwu,i understand 100% of what he says,when talking with the parents. |

I 've friends from adazi -enu and adazi-ani,i 've equally been to neni for igbaukwu,oh! And agulu,that town is very large,never knew they don't have osu in those places,because we do it in idemili,i used to think its' done in the whole of igbo land,it was in nairaland that i learnt that it is not done in ngwa and now aniocha. |

The igbo you hear in onitsha is idemili dialect,idemili towns like obosi and nkpor have become part of onitsha,nkpor and obosi people believes that the land your call onitsha today was originally their farmland,onitsha people they believe, came from across the niger.Onitsha dialect always uses v rather than f,fa(idemili) becomes va(onitsha),afia(idemili) is avia(onitsha), saa(to wash in idemili),chaa(to wash in onitsha),ñuo(to drink in idemili), raa (to drink in onitsha). Nobody uses those onitsha words in onitsha town,except onitsha indigenes,the igbo you hear in onitsha town is mainly idemili,which is very similar to those spoken in njikoka,dunukofia and anaocha areas of anambra. |

odumchi:What is the name of your dialect?In idemili we equally use osiso,but because every word is usually spoken in its shortest form,we are more likely to say"oiso" rather than osiso. Some dialects normally use ekwukwo instead of akwukwo,they always tend to replace a with e, so that ano becones eno,akpa(bag) becomes ekpa,akwu(palm fruit) becomes ekwu,i have a friend who hails from alaye in bende abia state,whenever he is speaking with his parents,i always notice this replacement of a with e,nkanu people in enugu are equally guilty of this. |

Idemili dialect rocks, unlike other dialect It is not heavy,every sentence and word is reduced to it shortest form. Gwara(told) becomes gwa, Gi(you) is reduced to 'i making G silent,ha is replaced by a lighter fa,akwukwo(school/book) become a'kwo ,ngwangwa(early/fast) becomes ngwa. A gwa i na fa jebe a'kwo ngwa: i told you that they went to school early. |

Abidi pele played for marseille,a french giant who won the champions league in 1993. Aimar played for valencia,a spainish team that won the uefa cup in 2004,and were runners up in the 2001 and 2002 editions of the champions league,valencia is a bigger team than chelsea in europe,stats don't lie. Bebeto played for brazil,the biggest team in the world. Finidi played for ajax,a bigger team than man u,ajax has won the champs league four times while man u has won it trice. Oh! Great players are always a part of a winning team,thats why fifa have more often than not picked the world footballer of the year winner from the team that won titles,kanu has featured for a title winning team than okocha or any other nigerian,that should tell you who is greater. Personally i don't like kanu type of football,he reminds me of ibrahimovich,but okocha is more of an entertainer than a footballer,for a guy with his skills and ability its a shame he is second to kanu,stats don't lie. |
