TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice: 3:20pm On Aug 31, 2012
DOMINION1: @ justwise and other gurus in the house? I earn N210,415 monthly i will be applying for a uk visa in oct to go for a graduation in nov, my friend is graduating and i will be booking for some tours and hotel reservation as well, e will send me a letter of invitation and other doc, i have my payslips and my bank statement reflecting my salary, i am the one to sponsor the trip, is 700k plus as my closing bal for my statement of acc ok? i will like to get feed back soon. God bless u all for ur kind hearts.
Your Salary is impressive to earn you the merit of any visa, but your financial stance is highly questionable: N700k as the closing balance of a person who receives N210k monthly is highly suspicious. And apart from it being as it is, the Visa Officer might not be encouraged to approve your application for concern that your trip would render you broke and may ruin your financial future
TravelRe: Help :i Want My Wife To Have Her Baby In Us Or Any Where by Vicjustice: 6:18am On Aug 31, 2012
It is a serious violation to conceal pregnancy during visa application, and it is even more serious to give birth in a country if your visa is not issued on medical ground: and worse still, to deny the awareness. Now, unlike the merciful 10 years ban that is applicable with the UK, You may never be issued a US visa again, this violation MAY attract a life ban from the USA depending on circumstances and judgement

Mauzita: Just appilied for uk visa with hotel reservation, bt the hotel sent mail to me canceling my reservation and my visa is not out yet. Please what do I do?
They will see it as a fraud or deceptive attempt and refuse you the visa: why not quickly make re-book in the same hotel before the embassy finds out?

Atlantis85: Hi everyone,
I've got a friend who wants to apply for a general uk visa. Here are facts about her present status:
1. She is unemployed but is a designer. Her 'business' thrives quite well but its not registered or anything .

2. She wants to go as a tourist and has prepared a letter of introduction from her former place of work. The letter would state she's presently still a staff.

Our concern now is what's the best way to go about this as her account is quite bouyant and like I said she's not employed nd single.
Thanks

obigin43: what if in 6 months time if present my current account and my salary account will that be okayhuhor will that contradict the issue cos do to the nature of my job i still offer personal service to some clients which i also receive payment from that source and sometime the money that goes into my current account is more than my salary...pls shed more light and thanks for ur time vic.
In Europe, if one does businesses or services that involve cash payment, it is required that the business owner install a receipt machine from which incomes are traceable, or have invoice teller with which incomes can be documented, but in Nigeria, it is not so, and Visa Officers understand this: however, you are expected to have invoice tellers which should be taken to the Revenue office for proper income documentations.
I don't know the contents or the composition of your account statement, but if you think it meets the standard as explained in the original post, then it is good to go
TravelRe: Main Reasons Many Are Refused Visas by Vicjustice(op): 10:08am On Aug 30, 2012
obigin43: thanks vic,i think that should be the right advice for me,i will definitely do as u said though my bank account meet up with the requirement just that the salary account and i have already informed my company to be paying me through the account which they opened for me for the salary payment so in 6 months time i think it will be okay and moreover my official leave is running i will use the remaining days to visit south Africa again since i still have some month left on my 6 months multiple visa.
thanks once again mr vicjustice.
How does your bank statement meet the requirement if it does not show your income from verifiable sources?
I was not talking about the amount of money in your account, i meant your bank statement should meet the requirement by displaying your salary income: a bank statement that does not show one's salary does not meet the requirement

silversheep: hello vic justice,i collected our visas yesterday(me_2 years and my son 6 months).thanks for ur help.im still very surprised that our visas were granted despite so many mistakes i made during application.i didnt check the hotel confirmation before printing it out and submitting it.the hotel my friend booked was actually 3,710 pounds which is well over 800,000 naira ,while the money in the account as at the time of submission of the application for my son and i was a lil above a million naira. Also,my friend used her name and details for the reservation instead of mine despite giving her my details.i was actually expecting a refusal the moment i noticed these coupled with the fact that im not doing anything presently(i filled nysc in the form with a copy of my call up letter and nysc id card.i really dont know what these british embassy people look out for before granting or refusing visas because my cousin who spends most of his holidays(he started visiting uk when he was 2 years old and now he is 28) in uk was refused a few days ago just because he didnt submit some documents relating to his parents which i suppose they should have record of since he has been granted visas well over 6 times).i feel its really not about the documents u tender but about the ECO official that attends to ur application.i read a post about a lady who wants to apply but doesnt know if she can use the passport that has a maiden name, this is the second time ill be using my passport which was issued before i got married.all she needs to do is present her marriage cert and news paper publication of her change of name instead of going for another passport that will reflect her new sunname.once again vic justice, you are the man wink
I'm so glad to head this encouraging testimony from a grateful heart: Congratulations for your success, dear one.

obigin43: PLS CAN SOMEONE ADVICE ME ON WHAT NEXT TO DO ON THIS ISSUE
1.I APPLIED FOR UK VISA AND I WAS DENIED DUE TO NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE PERSONAL TAX CERTIFICATE
2.NOT ABLE TO PROVIDE MY SALARY ACCOUNT.

TO BE HONEST I PERSONAL ASKED MY COMPANY TO BE PAYING ME IN CASH BECAUSE I CANT DEAL WITH THE STRESS OF LONG QUEUE IN THE BANK ON PAY DAY AND I HAVE MY PERSONAL ACCOUNT (current account) WHICH I HAVE BEEN USING FOR A VERY LONG TIME THOUGH I HAVE CONTACTED MY COMPANY ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT TO START PAYING ME THROUGH MY SALARY ACCOUNT

AND FOR THE TAX CERTIFICATE MY COMPANY DIDN'T GIVE IT TO US SO I ASKED THEM TO GIVE ME THE CODE WHICH THEY USED TO PAY IN TAX OFFICE SO THAT I COULD GET IT DONE BY MY SELF

AM DOING ALL THIS MAYBE I SHOULD RE-SUMMIT IT AGAIN IN A 2 WEEKS TIME
PLS IS IT ADVICE ABLE TO SUMMIT IT AGAIN OR TO RE-APPLY COS A BROWN ENVELOPE WAS GIVING TO ME BY THE EMBASSY AND SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT IT'S FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO RE-SUMMIT ONE'S THEY CAN PROVIDE WHAT THE EMBASSY ARE ASKING FOR.
Submitting or Re-applying will not produce any different result unless your bank statement and other clerical documentations meet the requirements: if I were you, I will start preparing the documents and my bank statement to enable me meet the requirements and apply again in 6 months time
TravelRe: What Are The Most RACIST Countries? by Vicjustice: 6:50pm On Aug 28, 2012
AjanleKoko: Sure I will.
As per the issue under contention:

In Lagos, we are surrounded by people of different tribes everyday. I have people from different parts of the country (even Hausas) working in my department in the office. My best friend is from Akwa Ibom. My maid is Igbo, and my nanny is from Cross River. My security guard at home is from Kebbi state, and my driver is from Benue state.

I am Yoruba. I go to shop in the market, and I buy staples from Igbos, fruit from Hausas, and pepper/tomatoes from Yorubas. I've never once thought about anybody poisoning me or something equally drastic. I mean, even with all the Boko noise, I sleep with two eyes shut. If I was that paranoid, I would not have a Hausa security guard. Everybody has a Hausa security guard in Lagos.

Imagine if I decided I would only patronize Yoruba people. That would not only be impossible, it would also be daft. Who said Yorubas can't harm me, a fellow Yoruba?
We can say Fulanis and Beroms are killing each other in Jos. So what? Yorubas regularly kill other Yorubas here in the west, just ask Tokyo and some of the other area boys in Ibadan. Same thing about the two communities in Abakaliki that attacked each other last year, resulting in 60 deaths. Are they not Igbos? Why did they kill each other then?

So you will understand when I say, I don't know where the supposed racism in Nigeria exists. Maybe on Nairaland grin
In social aspect, ie giving employment to others, there is discrimination in Nigeria.
In election and democracy, there is partiality and preferential choices based on brotherhood.
In relationships and marital aspect, there is discrimination.

What are you saying "there is no discrimination in Nigeria"?
If an Igbo man and a Hausa man are fighting in an isolated place, and there comes another Hausa man, would he not join his "brother" to kill the Igbo man?
Would Hausa family allow their daughter to marry a Christian Ijaw man?

koolmd: Hello All,

I am planning my vacation for Nov. 2012 and i will be visiting 3 European countries. Although, am applying for a Schengen visa through France Embassy as directed at the Netherlands Embassy website.

The question i like to ask here is that, if i write Amsterdam, Netherlands as the place am visiting and i decide to visit Brusell,, Belgium and Paris, France on thesame trip.

Does it in anyway constitute a breach of my visa terms (if my visa is valid for ''ESTAT SCHENGEN"wink I had recieved a schengen visa to Paris before but my french friend invited me to Germany but i refused because i thought the visa was only valied for france then.
No, it is within your privilege (as a Schengen visa holder) to travel to or within the 25 Schengen member states: there is no immigration controls, and you are allowed to stay in any county that you please as long as the visa remains valid. But it is advisable to use the airport of the country that issued you the visa as your point of arrival otherwise, you might need to explain the purpose of your visit: know that any Schengen country has every right to cancel your visa even if it is issued by another Schengen state

My two sisters lives in Nigeria and they are both above 22 years of age and their father is a British citizen including their two elder brothers, I am wondering what sort of visa type can they apply for?
What is the purpose of their going to the UK?

There are many ways you can disagree with someone. He could have said simply, I don't agree. Which one is, 'you just made that up'?
What did I make up? So I came up here and made up something to argue with justwise? That's a silly comment. I find it disrespectful. Why would I make up something to argue with you?
Ah, I see what you mean, it's more or less like you being accused of lying. Please, overlook the impression of the context and look at the intention.

salsera: @osile
My reference to your using fake documents was cos you wanted to pretend to be an employee of your sisters company. All that is just unnecessary.

If you receive money from estate then there should certain documentation showing what's due to you. Show proof of that regular income even if Ur brother has to Write confirming It gets to you from him. At least most family estate document sharing formulas with. Minutes of meeting

Its better you apply as tourist with the true facts than get banned for provide false information
Like I said earlier you can hv a great holiday elsewhere too
Gd luck
EXCELLENT!

nicebbe: family Visa....
I really don't seem to get what you mean by "Family Visa", is it that you are applying to travel with your family or that you intend to visit your family ie; FAMILY VISIT VISA?
If you meant you are travelling with your family for Tourism, then, you can't do anything about this particular application because, it has been decided and is closed.
But if you meant you intend to travel to visit a family member, then, you can request for Review: and although you have the rights to appeal it, but it would be impossible to overturn the decision on appeal for the fact that you were refused due to your own error (not the injustice of the Visa Officer), so, I would have recommended that you request for a REVIEW.
But given that you seem to want this issue resolved urgently, I will suggest that you let go the failed application and reapply because, Review might take ages, and yet, the outcome can not be guaranteed

Pls, advice me, which type of visa am gonna apply for? And would immigration officer accept her to sponsor me and my accomodation? Thanks.
1) VISITING/TOURIST visa
2) NO, she can't be your sponsor, only your wife can sponsor you, and since this American woman is not your wife, you need to meet the financial requirement and not be a liability on anyone.
3) YES, you can use her house as accommodation details provided it is suitable

osile2012: ok bross, what do you suggest i do ? my sister is a manager in one of the major telecommunication firms in Nigeria, she also has a company that is registered and has tax clearance.she does not really do much with the company though she pays funds into the account once in a while. I am thinking as stating that i am a staff of that company and my salary is 200k monthly. she can present a back dated letter of employment since 2010 and also introduction letter with the company letter head.

my problem is.

there is no pay slip to show for this.

all the funds that has been paid into my account this year, has been done by my elder brother who pays this money into my account. how can i explain that my salary is paid to me through my elder brother.

i also dont want the embassy to request for the for the company account, because if they do, they will say i have made more money this year than the company that is paying me .

also my sister intends to give me $1000 for this trip, if she states that she will give me 1000 for the trip as the MD of the company, they will request for the company account statement.

so should she give me and introduction letter as the MD of the company, and then give me another introduction letter as my sister, stating that she will give me $1000 to support my trip from her personal salary account, and present the bank statement.

Its really complicated, but i am sure there will be a way around it .

Also, do i still state that i receive extra funds from family property and provide like 2 landed property documents and tenancy agreements.

The sum of R7m rands(apprmt N140m) was found in his SA acct. He was given two options »1. Serve 28yrs (like 14yrs) in jail n after d jail term take his entire money n leave d country immediately or 2. Leave d money for SA Govt n leave d country without having to serve a jail term. He is married n av kids in SA n he is condering many factors. He is yet to make a decision for like 6mths now nn he really needs meaningful n matured advices.
Both, I mean He should serve the 28 years in jail and also forfeit the N140m, and be deported after that as criminals like him deserve to be given maximum punishment: He is not worthy to be a married man with kids

osile2012: lol bross i understand where you are coming from oo. but look at the situation here.

this properties are inherited from my late father, now we have a family lawyer who also deals in real-estate, he finds the buyer for our property, negotiates on our behalf, payment is made to his firm and he pays to use, same thing applies when we want to purchase, we purchase through him.

the main purchase funds are deposited in my elder brothers personal account from the estate agency . i want to ask, assuming i was a retired civil servant, and my late husband left some properties behind which is rented out, and i am surviving from the rent. do i have to go and register a company, to rent from my late husbands property ?

As a widow who her husband left properties behind for, does she have to register the properties as a business she receives income from ?
You are saying all these because you are in Nigeria, a failed country with entire corrupt system.
In Europe, there is no house that is unregistered, there is no Landlord that would claim to be unemployed (because, property management is a self-employed/owner occupation), and there is no rent income that is not taxed except in certain conditions...
Now, this is how the rules are supposed to be: Any thing that generates income is supposed to be registered and the income taxed, and as an estate property owner/manager, you are not supposed to claim "unemployed" especially when such huge incomes are involved: that is considered corruption in the eyes of Europeans
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice: 9:24am On Aug 27, 2012
osile2012: ok thanks bross, something came up again.

my sister said she will be doing graduation in nov so i should hold on let her send me invitation letter for the school, that it will be easier. now if she sends invitation letter from school this week, will it make sense if i apply in sept against nov, will it be too early.
No, it is not too early, in fact, you are recommended to make your visa application early to allow enough time in order to minimise the risks of delays.

osile2012: from my study in this forum about finance in application, i have a question to ask, someone that recieves constant payment from a family estate, and does not have employment is the person qualified to apply for tourist visa?
To be honest, if you were in Europe, you would be in jail because, this is exceedingly illegal: It is the failed Nigerian system that makes you consider yourself "unemployed" despite the fact that you are managing an estate business: this context alone shows that the business is not properly documented; so, it would be unacceptable to the embassy.
If the "family estate" is a well documented legitimate business and its transactions are in compliance with the revenue authority guidelines, why would you have any problem?

osile2012: in my case, i am currently unemployed, my family has properties(inherited from late father) for rent, we buy properties and sell properties, we also buy land build and rent. these transactions are negotiated by our family estate lawyer, payments are made to him and he deposits to my elder brothers account.
Well, the Visa Officer would see all these as corruption and will absolutely consider you as a corrupt and illegal business-person

osile2012: now i am entitled to 30% of money generated from rent and any sales transaction, there is no documentation to this, it is a result of family meeting. this 30% amounts to about 2mill naira anually. i recieve deposits into my account every month, from 100k to 300 or 400k depending on how much was generated. in the past 6months the deposits in my account is over 1.2mill. i currently have 700k in my account.
Again, this is absolutely illegal and punishable by time in jail, i wonder why your sister (who resides in Europe) never warned you of how it is done here. You can't be a landlord who collects huge rent incomes and yet claims to be unemployed, you are a manager of a huge estate business and that is a big time employment: It would have been easier for you if you had done the right paperworks and pay your taxes, by that, you would get any visa to any country in the world with ease since your properties could be used as obligations or home ties

osile2012: i intend to present some property deeds, property sales and purchase transactions and tenancy agreement. my problem now is, since i dont have a job, but receive money to the tune of 2.something mil annually. will i be disqualified as not having a job, or will the funds i recieve from property be taken as a job?
You will definitely be disqualified because, to the European mindset, you are seen as a corrupt businessman and a tax cheat

osile2012: now u see the page they put behind for additional information, i dont think it will be enough for my explanations, is it better for me to attach a letter to my application to explain further instead of using that page?
You are allowed to attach additional sheets if the box for additional information is not sufficient: but i just don't see how you can explain to them that you are not involved in corruption.
Nigeria go survive?
I'm sorry, but i just have to be honest with you, please, don't take it personal.

Vergil: But why also would there be any doubt when a marriage certificate would be included? Like the initial person said.
I understood her issues. Since she is in Nigeria, she is the applicant and she got married in Nigeria. I can understand why it would be a good idea to update her passport.
But I just thought, what if the exact opposite was the case. Her husband is in Nigeria, he is the applicant and they got married in Nigeria. Surely, the marriage certificate would now have to be taken abroad (assuming she has a foreign passport), just to update her passport, and sent back to the husband to include in his application. So, as the sponsor, she'd be making use of an updated passport to compliment his application.
I'm sure the visa guys would have taken this into account and cos of this, there won't be any issue regarding surnames in a scenario like this. Since it would not only take time but cost more too.
Wasn't sure, figured I ask. Just wondering really.
To conclude, I'm thinking if it was the husband that's in Nigeria, maybe (like you said) this won't be an issue (surname; passport update).

Get me?
You make this analysis based on your opinions, but bear in mind that Visa Officers are trained to have suspicious attitude and to dig for any reason to refuse visa rather than reasons to approve it hence if visa applicant is 95% convincing, and 5% questionable, he would be refused the visa based on the 5% error.
I don't think the money that it would cost to apply for a new passport exceeds the cost of a failed visa application.
As a married woman who has a marriage certificate in which she signed to bear her husband's surname, her Passport with her original surname is thereby invalid. That is it.

Everybody wants to avoid being seen as ignorant, and therefore they pretend to know what they have no idea of and that makes them even more ignorant and stupid

Right now I'm still unmarried legally but ve a 6 year old kid and a pregnant live in girlfriend.
Pls how do I present myself as I would like girlfriend and expected little one to go for visitation next year God willing.
Friends say I could get marriage certificate back door.
Guys what do u think.
Thanks.
What paragraph in the visa application suggests that people that are not married must not be given a visa, or what code in the immigration law makes it illegal for singles to get a visa?
Well, i have been campaigning and warning people of the danger of using "back door" documents, so, i'll feel no regret for whoever is dum enough to get him/herself into a lasting ban.

I submitted my application for 2yrs renewal since July 3rd and up till this minute, whenever I track the application on VFS website, I always get same response i.e it's been forwarded to the british embassy. I believe renewal shouldn't even be up to 15 working days but in my own case its over 35 working days now (7weeks and 5 days). Has anyone ever experienced this kind of delay please? And what do you suggest I do please?
It is absolutely normal to experience such delays especially if the visa sought is not considered time sensitive
....yea u are right its latvia. I took the school exam so d school told me to apply for visa @Egypt..!!!
And did they confirm to you that no other Schengen embassy can deal with Latvian visa issue?
I'm asking because, it is often the case that if any Schengen state does not have an embassy in any given country, there is usually another Schengen embassy that is assigned to cover the lacking Schengen state.
Please, confirm with the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affair, not the school authority (the school authority might not have much knowledge on diplomatic matters).
I hav an admission to study in a country. The only embassy of the country in Africa is in Egypt so I have to visit Egypt to collect for the visa..
Please I don't knw hw to go about the Egypt visa processing....pls help
I suspect you're talking about Latvia; and if so, as Latvia is a Schengen state, i expect there should be another Schengen state embassy that covers its diplomatic dealings in Nigeria.
