poopppyLiillyy: But Why??!!....I av already entered his name as my sponsor for the 1st interview, will uttering it nt affect me in the next interview or is it even possible to change it atall at this time to My parents??
If your parent is your sponsor, you won't be obliged to prove anything except to prove that the fund is available. But if you are using any other person as sponsor, you will have to demonstrate why the individual choses to sponsor you and how your education will benefit him.
This is why it is extremely difficult to get a visa using a sponsor who is an outsider.
I understand your sponsor is your step brother, but observing his surname, the ECO will consider him an outsider

emmanuelson20: Once again, sorry for the denial, be strong, you will be granted next time. I think u made a mistake here, "his mom married my mom after his dad died"! As for your question, there are 2 options i have for you. (1) You go to the High Court at ikeja or anyone close to you to get a notary officer sign & stamp a letter written by your Step-brother establishing his relationship with you. (2) If you can get a bank account statement with your surname preferably from your mom, it is the best of the 2 options cos this would create an impression that you have genuine intention of studying in the U.S. Hope this works. Peace.
Your advice/suggestions would be perfect if PoopppyLiillyy is applying for student visa, but it seems s/he is applying for tourist visa; therefore, sponsorship is a jeopardy

pls help o..vicjustice n co
Change of sur-name (on marital ground) is not a thing of necessity in western cultures, but in Nigeria, it is something extremely important, and Visa Officers know this.
I suggest you get that sorted, this is extremely important because, I can't see how a visa officer will find it credible in that an African woman does not bear her husband's surname.
I'm not in Nigeria, I'm not the right person to suggest any newspaper or something like that

saintanthonyd: Hello and well done.
@Vicjustice or anyone that can advise:

Pls, what's the time range for processing uk student visa in Nigeria as it's 17workin days already and i still havnt had mine; d wait is killing me.
Embassies are usually finding it difficult to decide Student Visa inside their official time frames, so, it could take any period from their given number of days even to two month later.

saintanthonyd: More so, does a late response from BHC indicated that there would be a refusal? I mean, does it take them longer time to refuse visas than to grant them?
I'm really very apprehensive here and I always like to prepare for shocks.
Would appreciate some reply. Thank U.
No, late response doesn't indicate that an application would be refused, rather (on the contrary) it usually is an indication that an application is deserving a good consideration. Know that it is an easier job for them to refuse a visa application than to approve it.
The BHC would not waste its time on application that deserves a straight refusal, yet, applications could still be refused after passing through the initial stage. And considering that a vast majority of visa applications result in refusal, I reckon a 50% chance to applicants whose applications stay longer than the normal duration time with the embassy

His mom colapse and fainted when she heard the news tonight. Pls help save a life. Progressive advice is needed ASAP. Thanks.
What reasonable immigration officer would allow a traveller holding a visa that has only three days left?
Such people are not allowed into any country, they are turned back at the port of entry and deported.
As false as the story seems, it is already too late.

solomonwis: @Vicjustice,just out of curiosity...wouldn't they question the that she concealed the fact that she has a relative other than the one that invited her somewhere in London at the point of her initial application?
I got what you mean. But the options are hers to either state that she has a relative in the UK or not; there would be no problem if she chooses to undisclosed this (as long as they don't know about it), and if she chooses to disclosed it, she is not limited to family invitation only nor is she obliged to stay with the relative, she has every right to chose whoever she wishes to stay with and where...

luckyusa: An honest story, in jan 2004 i applied for a ukvisa with a different name and date of birth but i was refused because of the money in the bank account so again in December 2004 i applied again with another passport name and date of birth but l was refused because based on the visa officer they requested for more document from the person i claim to be my uncle to prove our relationship and that he has a proper accommodation for me to stay and i was given a right to appeal the decision or reapply providing the needed document but l refuse to appeal or reapply because i do not even know the person that l claim to be my uncle so it was impossible to get more document from the guy that sold them to me and this happen before the finger uk visa application policy
But in 2010 after staying in Nigeria and completed my degree program i got a scholarship to study in the usa and apply for a new passport with my real identity and date of birth and l applied for a usa student visa, l got the visa and travel to the usa and am currently studying in the usa as a scholarship student but my problem is now ,my university is organizing a tour program for master program student in my group to London and l have to apply for a ukvisa but l want to confirm if the uk embassy can detect my pervious application on the different name and date of birth
Am confused because my previous multi application was not detected or refused because of different identity in 2004 but insufficient documentation and lack of fund
l know l was mislead to getting all those multi passport on different names because when l apply with my real identity and true date of birth for the usa visa in 2010 and l attended the interview was granted the usa student visa with the visa office asking only 3 question and my solid advice to fellow Nigerians is that do not use fake document or stolen identity to apply for visa .this will have great negative impact in the future ... felt sad and depressed now because of great error of the past ..l need advice on what to do and please note l have never given my finger print at any uk visa centre in the past ..no matter your advice am still in the position to thank God that l stayed in Nigeria to complete my bachelor degree because my friend did the same stuff in 2004 and got the ukvisa on the third attempt with a different name but two month ago after 8 years he was arrested working in the uk without proper document and was deported back to Nigeria .he is now in Lagos with no bachelor degree ..l pray GOD show us the truth in life and we never make this ugly mistake resulting in a regretted life ......thank you and you honest advice will be appreciated.
It would take only a confession from you for the UK authority to know that you were the same person: it would be impossible for them to find you out since your finger prints were not taken, and the names plus dates of birth that you gave them was false.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice: 3:53pm On Jul 31, 2012
tinapame: @Vicjustice. Thank you very much for your response. First, it is not the previous person that invited me, the previous person intends relocating back to Nigeria soonest,he is in London, also the person inviting me second time is also in London. Secondly, Yes i was granted multiple entry visa for 6 months and i traveled for three weeks and came back, I am a government worker with one of the federal institutions and have all my documents ready. Thirdly, I am going on my annual leave in September which i had to spread within the year and that is the same purpose that i traveled for in March this year. If my answers to you are okay kindly get back to me here thank you very much.
From your explanations, it looks good for you, I don't see why your application will not be approved. There would be no problem if a different person invites you, the ECO can definitely see that you're not an immigration risk.

kennyGGG: Whatever it is I am meant to understand still doesn't take out the fact that you are being arrogant. Learn some manners especially on how to talk to people you don't even know. It doesn't matter who you were addressing. Its by chance you are here and nobody will be here for ever.
You started this nonsense by your demeaning post. Learn not to interfere on issues that don't concern you next time, there are some things that are to be left for people that matter, stay away from such
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Vicjustice:
kennyGGG: Na wa o. So there are some people that matter and others that don't. Well, I guess there is no point here. You have turned your self into some sought of emperor on this thread. Well thank God our IDs are anonymous. You can go on feeling like a Visa Officer for all you care. Not joining issues with some ill trained and cultureless.
Every reasonable person understands the difference between moderators and ordinary members, and therefore understands what I meant when I said my post was intended for people that matter.
I made that post after justwise had posted, and the content of my post is enough to make any reasonable person understand who the post was directed or indirected to: those are the people that matter to that particular post, not just anyone who has the privilege to freely post comments. What is it you still don't understand?

My application for the Canadian FSWP was actually returned at the initial stage. I sent in my docs and i got an e-mail after about 3months that my profession had been removed from the ministerial list and its no longer eligible for processing.

Threafter, my documents were mailed back to me.
Pity. But it's better that they did it now than to keep you in suspense for 3 years before turning it down

Based on your finance, I would consider it impossible for you to get a visa. You may only apply for the visa if you want to give a tithe (of your N300k) to the embassy

lovedgal: Hello Vicjustice,

Can you help with advising on if a non-family member (friend of the family) can sponsor a member of my family who wants to come and visit me in the uk on genuine reasons. we have all other supporting documents. but the only dependable sponsor is a non-family member.

thanks
It is neither illegal nor is it against any rules for a non-relative to sponsor or invite someone, just that the risk of jeopardy is high especially when you can not demonstrate the benefits that the (non-relative) sponsor stands to gain from the trip, and therefore there would be no apparent reason why a person would choose to sponsor a stranger or an outsider: the chance that the visa would be refused is extremely high in this case

saintanthonyd: Hello everyone.
Vicjustice, pls advise.
I submitted my uk student visa application at the VFS office in Abuja on the 10th of July. They said it takes 15working days to process. The 15working day elapses tomorrow 31st of July; I still tracked my application this morning and was told d same thing i've been told since i submitted: your visa application has been forwarded to d BHC for processing.
Judging from past experiences of people who have submitted their tier 4 visa application as well, do u reckon i'ud be called for it 2moro or later today? Would appreciate ur reply. Many thanks.
There is no advice that would work in this situation, it is entirely up to them; all you can do is to wait a few more days. They never would forget you entirely. Cheers

tinapame: @justwise, is it compulsory that the first person who invited you to UK shd be the same to invite you on subsequent visits? I want to reapply for UK visa and this same person is planning to come relocate back to Nigeria but someone else who is also a friend is willing to send me a letter of invite. Pls advice. Thanks

tinapame
No, it is not compulsory, but some factors may be taken into consideration whether negative or positive.
When was it that the previous person invited you?
Was the visa approved or refused?
For what purpose were you previously invited?
Is it the same purpose that the new person is inviting you?
Is the new person living in same city as your previous host?
Know that is will be a disadvantage for the visa officer to understand that the person who previously invited you is no longer in the UK especially during the period that is supposed to be the validity of your visa

silversheep: schools are on vacation presently vicjustice and the letter was written by the proprietor of the school ith the schools letterhead paper and his phone number and signature appended below.its just a 12 day holiday.
That sounds good and positive, only make sure that the number of day that you enter as your intended duration of stay in the UK correspond with the declaration on the letter. The only problem I see here is your finance, but a considerate Visa Officer will give you the benefit of doubt

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice:
silversheep: top of the morning to all naira landers wink,u guys are doing a marvelous job here.i am about re applying for tourist visa,i have all the documents i used last year when i was granted 6 months entry.im planning to apply for 2 years this time around with my husband as my sponsor.i want to know how safe it is to apply with my 2 year old son being his first time(he will be applying for 6 months)
You can't be issued a visa while your 2 years own son is refused, and he can't be issued a visa while you are refused, so, he is as "safe" as you are safe and you are as safe as he is safe.

silversheep: and also currently i am undergoing my mandatory nysc,i want to know if that wont be a problem since corpers are not meant to travel during there nysc year.
This might be a problem, the embassy is aware of the terms and conditions as well as the mode of conduct and operation of the NYSC, therefore, they know of the illegitimacy of your visa application.

silversheep: altho i already have a letter from my employer(the proprietor of the primary school where im serving)stating her consent and that the school is on vacation.
I suppose the letter is original, but make sure this claim of vacation is true and nothing but the truth or else, you may face a 10 years ban if the embassy found that the content of the letter is not true

silversheep: lastly,my husbands statement has a lil over a million naira in his account but its barely 3 months that he re activated the account, will the money cover for me and my son?.what are my chances pls,ur advice will be much appreciated pls.i wish everyone a great weekend.
As long as there is no Money Lodgement involved, there is no problem if the fund has stayed in isolation for 3 months: this obviously shows that the money has been readily available.
Now, on the basis of your previous issuance and its terms and conditions that you have observed, i would like to give you a 60 percent chance because, you may be refused if the visa officer gives a deep thought on your husband's bank statement considering that your son is 2 years old, therefore, he is entitled for an individual seat in the airplane, so, you would be paying for a full ticket for him (same price as an adult) howbeit, without the tax. Now, if you remove the visa fee, the ticket fee, lodging/accommodation costs and the cost of maintenance in Expensive UK etc, how much would be left of the one million Naira, why would he spend so much of his life savings just to send you on holiday?
This is how the Visa Officer sees it

pauloman: What of if one was requested to send a notarised copy of his employment letters in the initial stage of visa application which was promptly done. Is there need to still submit the original hard copy of such a documents during the processing stages of the visa application if the file has not been concluded?
It depends on what is "requested" from you, or what is required of you. There are some institutions that may accept notarized copies of hard documents, but embassy isn't one of such except if they give you exceptional privilege: I don't know any one who can get a visa with a photo copy Marriage Certificate

You can't get a visa using photocopies of hard documents; hard documents are documents carrying security authentication, or stamp, or seals, or signature.
