ayobj: dont do cash lodgements into your own account.let your dad give you a covering letter of sponsorship detailing that he will be responsible for the trip. You might have done it for your wife and it worked, but that doesn't mean it would work in Oxatto's case. He is an adult and therefore, he is expected to be capable of self sponsor or he doesn't qualify for tourist visa. Only his Spouse can sponsor him; not his Daddy or Mommy |
emmanuelson20: Good Evening Everyone, i have a friend who got an admission to study in the US & every other documents needed for a visa interview are ready but to his surprise, he couldn't get an appointment interview date for the past few weeks. Although, i advised he should defer his studies till spring, but he said deferring will nullify the Partial Scholarship granted as rightly stated in his I-20 form & e-mailed by the director of international programs. Its obvious his chances of getting a date is very slim, but we are hoping for a miracle. Please house, your assistance is highly needed in the area of getting him a date preferrably 17 Aug-22 Aug. Please, help a brother. Thanks a lot. Peace. What "help" do you require? |
With no intention to offend anyone, to be honest, there is nothing more annoying than asking "what documents" is needed to apply for a visa: if one has to list the documents to every person who is applying for a visa, wouldn't that be a hell of irrelevant works? Please, use google if you're asking for "what documents" |
pauloman: My dear Carpenter friend you do not need any study permit to enter Canada because with your skill lever you are a major asset to yourself and Canada needs people like you as permanent residents at the moment. Its a pity how people like you dont know their global worth because of lack of adequate information. But God is ready to uplift your status that is why he led you here to get the information you need to excel. But the guy doesn't seem to be interested in migrating to Canada (which is what your recommendation is suitable for), i thought he said he wants to travel to Canada for training so that he may stand out among other competitors in his trade |
justwise: Whoever want to buy ticket should us the airline's website, if there is sales you will see it there, it works for me, sometimes cheap ticket pops up just days before you travel, agent will not sale cheaper than the airline.Well said, 100% |
@Macheus - The N165k is it for a return ticket or a one way ticket? If its a return ticket, its quite cheap considering the fact that its an olympic season. @Justwise - You dont want travel agent to survive ni - I use a travel agent and he does not collect extra from me.. He gets @ least 8.5% commission from the airline and their software (Amadeus, etc) allows them to get cheaper seats than what airlines display on their websites. It all depends on how honest and sincere the agent is.
There are two sets of people and they have real differences: 1) The Travel Agents who do the job of helping to organise travels for people who need the services 2) "Visa Agents" who put themselves in the stead of Ambassadors (or claim to have personal contact with embassy insiders): they make vain promises of securing your visa; but at last, they either steal your money or get you into a huge ban with their generated documents. Beware of "Visa Agents" |
follyfash85: @ vicjusticeI understand that Carpenters are disdained in Nigeria, but it is not the same in western countries, in fact, they are regarded as skilled workers. However, it is unusual for a person to be applying for study visa under such profession, howbeit, it is neither abnormal nor unacceptable. Now, some things will come into considering factors; first, know that the greatest concern of Visa Officers is the fear that a person would not abide by the rules of a visa if issued: therefore, as the owner of a prosperous Carpentry Company, i am of the opinion that (if done normally) you stand a reasonable chance for your application to be successful because, your company and your position in it will be seen as Home Ties or Obligation to make you want to return to Nigeria after your training. All you need to do is to prepare to answer these questions: *Why did you choose to train in Canada *Why would you be spending so much money for the training *How do you think the training would be beneficial to you and your company *How do you intend to manage your company while training abroad etc And most of all you need to secure an admission place in the School/Training Facility, and ensure that you need to have a compliant Bank Statement (refer to the original post for guidelines). WARNING! Do not attempt to outsmart the visa officer with any fraud, misleading, fake or tempered documents; do not give misinformation or tell (a documented) lie, do not use a false Date Of Birth, any of these will get you banned for life from Canada and the USA altogether |
To answer your question, i like to bring in your previous post and my corresponding response. Here it goes:
Dear All, I am planning to request for a General Visitor / Tourist visa @ the UK Emabassy and i've got the following documents Intact. Letter of Employment Confirmation of employment Job Function Leave Letter 6 Months Pay Slips (Showing my monthly salary) 6 Months Bank Statement - showing my salary inflow & allowances over the past 6 months (with 1.1m as my balance) Hotel Reservation Company ID Card As gave my documents to a friend who does UK Visa to people and she told me that my age is a problem, because i'm just 20yr +, she said that the VISA officer might be having some issues with my age that how can a Nigerian of 20yrs be working and earn 160k as monthly salary and also having a balance of 1.1m. Kindly advice if truly there is a problem with my application. I am still a student of University of Lagos but also works at thesame time as a Network Administrator with an IT firm. Please Advice
You've done a wise thing by coming here with this query. Now, it is not only that the act of altering your age will get you into a life-time problem, I reckon that the bank statement that you're about to use is fake: therefore you will also be facing a 10 year's ban plus the problem that will follow you for life if you alter your age. That visa agent is a fool
Broda, What makes you think that i'm going to use a fake statement of Account. I just explained to the house the real thing i'm going through, the school i'm in, the kind of work i do and also what my original statement of account from my Banker is having and u are here, thinking i intend to use a fake document or statement. However, If you really want to know, everything i have narrated in my enquiry is 100% true and original, it's only the Agent that got me confused, saying stuffs about my age, that she feels the Visa Officer will be doubting my application with the view that, It's near impossible for a 20yr old Nigerian to be earning as much as 160k monthly. but truly this is what i earn monthly. You may wish to advice further. Thanks and God Bless U All.
If the account is genuine and the figure in it is right, then, why were you and your "agent" concerned that there would be a problem due to your age and the money in the account? I don't see how it is impossible for a 20 years old man to have N1.1m in his account. Well, i only warned you for your own future good. |
An investigator with the Accident Investigation Bureau, Mr. Emmanuel Dialla, on Tuesday gave an insight into how post-crash fire of June 3 in Iju-Ishaga, Lagos State, rendered the Flight Data Recorder – one of the two black boxes – of the Dana Air’s plane useless. The data recoverable from the FDR normally assist an investigator of an air accident to identify the cause of crash. But the AIB, the statutory body empowered to investigate air accidents, has said the FDR of the Dana plane melted despite its fire-resistant casing. Dialla, who is the Director of Engineering, explained why this happened during the proceedings of a Coroner’s inquest into the death of the 153 persons on the plane and those on the ground. The inquest which is taking place in Ikeja, Lagos is presided over by Mr. Oyetade Komolafe. While being re-examined by AIB counsel, Mr. Babatunde Irukera, Dialla said the long exposure of the FDR to the inferno melted its magnetic tape and thus rendered it useless for data recovery. Dialla said, “The FDR did not survive the fire. When the protective case was opened, we discovered the magnetic tape had melted. “The FDR can be subjected to up to 1,000°C for 30 minutes. But in this case, it was exposed to the heat for about 24 hours. “The temperature was about 600°C. Even if the temperature is low, a long exposure to heat can destroy the tape.” Also testifying at the proceedings on Monday was the General Manager, Airworthiness Unit of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Mr. Kolade Ajiboye. He said the oversight function of the NCAA in regulating the aviation industry does not involve daily inspection of planes at their point of flight. Oyetade adjourned further hearing till Wednesday (today). How fire destroyed Dana plane’s black box – Investigator http://www.punchng.com/news/how-fire-destroyed-dana-planes-black-box-investigator/ This cover-up is alarming!!!.
Normal planes are equipped with 2 Black Boxes; the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) and Flight Data Recorder (FDR). If one is unrecoverable, the other one can still help in investigation: and if however both are unrecoverable, the investigation can still be successful by following the Pilots conversations with the Air Traffic Controllers (ATC) and by going to the aircraft Maintenance Log Book, and also by investigating the debris and the crash site. Experts can investigate a crash with very small clues, howbeit, the job may be more difficult without the Black Boxes. By the way, where are those who think Black Boxes are non-perishable? |
ololo12: Omg!!! What do you advise I do bro? I don't want to apply and get refused again. Plus I've got a US visa appt in oct, I want this UK visa on my pp before the interview so it can boost my chances of getting the US visa. Please help!!If you think of the advantage that the UK visa can "boost your chance of getting the US visa", you also have to consider the disadvantages, for instance; the visa officer may judge that your finance will not be enough for double holidays at the same period. |
Macheus: Thumbs up for you guys!!165 k for flight ticket is very reasonable except it's Turkish Airline which could be real cheap despite their good services |
ololo12: @ Justwise and vicjustice.. Please I need your help on this matter. I have been denied UK visit visa on two ocassion. The first denial was due to my inability to proof the fundsin my account with supporting documents like payslip and tax clearance(01-03-2012), I reapplied again on 03-05-2012 with 450k in my account, and the required documentation, I was refused on the grounds that I am taking more money than I can afford for the trip. Now I've lodged enough sum in my acct and want re-apply next month. I'll like to know my chances of getting the visa this time around! You would still get refused for money lodgement violation |

Abejimico: The surprising issue is the fact that the employer wrote in their employment advert that they will assist in acquiring a valid work permit. It is obviously a scam, the English composition and expression are so Nigerian; a UK company will not be in such begging and enticing mode just to give you such (non-skilled) employment: Just watch, the "advertiser" will soon ask you for money |
nedostic: After so much efforts and hype, our promising athlete- Blessing Okagbare finally disappoints in her core competence-long jump.Let us not forget quickly that the 100m women dash was indeed a debacle for the nation albeit we expected at least a'golden'bronze medal from her based on her 'blistering' form prior to the 100m finals.I feel you, brother, I agree with this post, 100% |
Tiny Jamaica, a nation made up of west African freed slaves..., they are making great impacts in the olympics, but Huge Nigeria with its massive population remains a disgrace to itself. Shame! |
emeka55: U guys r really doin a great job, kudos 2 vic & d rest of u guys. Pls I hav a question 2 ask, how easy is it 4 someone on a student visa doing Msc in Germany 2 relocate 2 Canada if he gains admission there?Well, migrating from Germany to Canada is as Easy as it is Hard, or as Hard as it is Eeay to get the right visa |
henrychubayo: I just saw it now in bbc. Its a very bad news for that country. I certainly will affect future participants of sporting events from that country. Checking situations in london now, i think they will be apprehended and deported very soon. Not just from that country, but from any other (black) African country. Africa and Africans; such a pity ![]() |

Thanks for the clarification, I appreciate that you didn't take offence and reply rudely. As for your question; investing your money is not the problem, your account statements just have to meet the requirement as I explained in this link: https://www.nairaland.com/967110/main-reasons-many-refused-visas |

paramajit: @vicjustice n nairalanders...how is ur weekend going.During your study periods, were you not entitled to a 20 hours per week work? If so, could you have worked without the NI? If no, wouldn't that explain why you applied for the NI? |
This incidence does happen, so if everyone should sue airline companies over lost luggage, every company will be in bankruptcy. Remember that there is usually no proof or evidence to support a claim of missing luggage therefore, what the terms and conditions say is, you may be refunded your luggage or ticket fee in the event of such loss, and there are usually the maximum allowable payment for compensation, it is only when the airline fails to comply with these regulations that law suit is appropriate |

Freiburger: It is obvious a lot of Nigerians want to be somewhere outside their own country, you can tell them you 're not ready to answer any unecessary questions. But the poster said "politely", I don't think your answer isn't rude. @Poster, If you don't want them to know you study abroad, don't tell them you study in the first place. |
Uzoma51: I am desperately in need of your advice. You can't sue them over a missing luggage (especially when you are using the economic class ticket). The possibility of such losses is in the terms & conditions that you agreed to during your ticket purchase: this is why they recommend you buy a travel insurance |
