So RIBADU wanted now to be the adopted 'Northern consensus candidate' because he Ribadu knew the ' North ' as they usually does are looking to pitch their tent with propably Shekaru as Bhuari has choosen 'infidel' as his running mate so Bhuari will not be their man. THis is my sole reason for anyone in the South not voting a Northerner in this election. It is 'BORN TO RULE' mentality. Any northerner including RIBADU will be given orders either by the caliphate in Sokoto or Emir of Gwandu. The North (the core north- Fulani's + some Hausa's) who give edict based on their own version of Isalam will want to direct the whole country at a FEUDAL LORD meeting citing what 'they interpret as what the great prophet said or intended' My question has always be , WHY SOMEONE FROM THE NORTH HAS TO BE AT THE HEAD OF THE TICKET? Why Not FASHOLA and RIBADU VP or CHIME and RIBADU VP, until we drill that to the head and mind of our Northern brothers , they will think they own us including the highly respected Malam Nuhu Ribadu which we in the South accord a lot of Respect. Will the North accord the same respect for a performing person like RIBADU in the North especially if he happens to be a Christian? my own answer is capital NO. Even MKO Abiola who is born muslim was denied because he is not'north muslim' Anyone who trust a Northernern politician does it at their own peril. |

I like Soyinka and what he has done for this country BUT, the North cannot be trusted, we have enough leaders( or rulers shall I say) that we must now have southern leaders for the forseeable future and get rid of 'born to rule' / deliver nothing Northern leaders. On a straight merit between Ribadu and GEJ, Ribadu is the better BUT we are now talking of the North who see the Presidency as their birth right , fusing Region and religion as their political tool , and Ribadu will be sucked into Northern politicsa if he were to win. Don't waste your future vote GEJ not necessarily PDP ( which is a bad party), the south must have the Presidency and kept it to better the lot's of Nigerian, the Northern candidates have prove to be incapable for 36 years out of Nigerian 50 years of independence. |

Daniel is not a perfect Yoruba man. He should have understood respect and grant the same to OBJ, who is old to be his father, and who is also his political father. Moreso, OBJ is a 2 time President of Nigeria, a feat Daniel is very unlikely to match ( if he will ever be President once) He cannot be accomodated in ACN as all position are already filled, maybe another party, and he will never be relevant again. He miscalculated the weight of OBJ at Federal level, the North FEAR OBJ, they knew he is like IBB of the South BUT with Nigeria unity interest at heart. Will GEJ dump OBJ for Daniel? very unlikely. There is power in figures, $7k to $5k GEJ -V- atiku. Atiku is a loser, all his strategy are based on noise, and noise bullying whereas GEJ camp marshall their team on the ground. The first evidence that Atiku is loser was when he started making silly allegations live to the world about a sitting President from his own party based solely on 'ZONING' Even, if he had won PDP primaries, he cannot win a state in all the SOUTH including SS, SE. or SW SOUR LOSER. Has anyone notice that Bhuari has something for anyone called TUNDE, from Tunde idiagbon now to Tunde Bakare, they are both of yoruba stock, (even though one is a Muslim and the other a Christian) and fiery, much more discpline. Maybe for every GOODLUCK, there is a TUNDE. On a serious note, I am tired of Politics that the North are on top of the tree, they are yet to learn politics of service/leadership. They are still in the feudal age, when RULERSHIP and 'born to rule' is all they undestood. For that alone GEJ is the candidate for this election for me, plus it will be almost the first time in Nigeria history that new breed are coming to life outside the usual old bag. |

With or without Bakare, Bhuari has no chance in this election, but what is Bakare's antecdent (politically) other than convenor of SNG. What can Bhuari do? God has thrown more confusion to the camp of GEJ enemies. I don't like PDP nor GEJ but the political dynamics of Nigeria will change drasically with the formal election of GEJ on his own rights, and th 'core North' will no longer be born to rule. I am NOT a tribalist but corruption in Nigeria and Nigerian politics and Armed foces is ver serious. RIBADU tried courtsey of OBJ appointment, permission and free hand. when he was fighting coruption, corruption fought back and send him to exile. However, the most corrupt people in terms of the nations resources are few core Northerners, and that is the reason i will rather have a cool headed guy from SS to lead this country. Until GEJ officially won an election in his own right, he has to tred carefully, and make sure the armed forces are kept in check as OBJ did for him to seriously fight corruption. Unfortunately, the followers are as bad in this country , possibly even more than the LEADERS. 'If the foundation is faulty, what would the righteous do' according to the scriptures. Look at people like TY danjuma and all of the former generals with masive oil blocks. Nigeria is a National cake to our Northern brothers, and they made it TURN BY TURN NIGERIA LIMITED RIBADU AND THE NORTH SHOULD WAIT UNTIL 2024 when GEJ and SE have taken their turn. |

One wonders who gave the woman 1 vote in Kwara or Kogi state she came from. If she was not the one who voted for herself, the person who vote for should have that vote recall. Historically, how many votes and delegates has she got in the past. suffering from Attention Seeking Deficit Disorder. Even Atiku who had 800+ delegates votes knew he has no prayer, either in court or in another party. Look, guys, SW declared encblock for GEJ, SS are not going to deny their own, SE follows the orders of Ndigbo. So Southern vote locked up. Going towards the North, Kwara and Kogi are more or less Yoruba states so, that will be in the bag for GEJ, then Plateau. Benue will definitely vote GEJ, Kaduna, state of Sambo wil also follow suit. The only states unreachable for now for GEJ, and he may not need them are Sokoto, Kano, Kebbi, Niger, and a few others. so GEJ will even win Sarah Jubril vote comes the general election. |

Guys, I am sorry to disappoint you. Any candidates from the NORTH is not worth us fighting over. Why not someone from SE who has never being President in this country. Why should everything to do with the President of Nigeria be about the NORTH. ONly we in the south are progressive to vote other people fro any other region or religion whereas the North are Not interested, you are either A Northern muslim or NO VOTE for you, even when you are a muslim and won election and NOT A NORTHERNER , no power for you. MKO Abiola is a good example. OBJ was a tool for the North to pacify the SW after they murdered MKO ABIOLA, period. IN as much as we all like and admired, respect RIBADU, once he is elected, he will be made to do the bidding of the North. History is a guide, Shagari and Umoru YarA'dua are good evidence of good guys in the pocket of the Northern cabals. Election and selection are won or lost by briliant strategies, GEJ has good and sound advice. People here say GEJ is dull and passive. I tell them that being ambitious and confident is NOT a Northern thing. Look, whether anyone likes it or hate it. The North are very smart politically, they knew that GEJ has locked down SOUTHERN VOTE, from SW to SS and then Indigbo SE., so all he has to do is to pick handful of states in the North, especially Kwara, kogi, Benue, Plateu, Kaduna(home of his VP), and some unexpected states like Adamawa. Only God can rule out GEJ in April 2011. He is the best of all the candidates(as of today) because all the Northern candidates are going to be beating the Northern drums once they are in power, we have seen this in Sheu Shagari and Umoru Musa Yar A'dua. One more thing, if the North play any funning games and anything happens to GEJ like close to what happens to MKO Abiola, the North will NEVER get water from SS not to talk of OIL, and without Oil money, Nigeria cannot function let alone the North Maybe , we should NOT waste Nigeria money on election except for confirmation like voice vote as they did with ACN RIBADU's primaries. |

I will say it again, I am NOT a tribalist by any measure but the NORTH has spent 34years of our independence running this country without anything to show for it. Dull or no dull, GEJ should be President, he is far better than what the North has produced up on till today, and won at least 15 of the Northern states in his own Primaries ( properly contested) I know that we in the south are progressive and look at track records and achievements before voting BUT the NORTH only cares once they have their own at the Presidency, Sheu Shagari, and Umoru Musa Yar A'dua are good examples of decent guys hijacked by the 'Cabal North' for their selfish usual Born to rule mentality endgame. The South should have the poower for another 20 years , then we can consider anyone from the North or start zoning properly under the constitution. In any event, a southern President has always been more beneficial for ordinary Northerners including the rest of Nigerians. GEJ should and by God's grace be our Next President comes May 2011. There are more competent people than Ribadu but the North south politics will never allows for those good people to emerge and be voted by the North who sees everything by religion and region since 1960 |

If they doubt me, let them square up iBB + Atiku with a recently graduated Southern guy, they will regret the level of their i.q . The north has always forced themselves on ordinary nigerians via bogus population, and religion with the backing of the military. THOSE ARE FACTS, their new found love of ZONINING is the biggest POLITICAL FRAUD, they also know it. GEJ with all his flaws and perceived dumbness his 10 times smarter than any of them, they are only arrogant and condescending bunch of lunatics. I like Pastor Tunde Bakare, and his outspoken views and approach to issues. However, this is Nigeria, and politically the Pastor is very naive. The North 'political mafia' are FRAUDSTERS, and you can only use fire for fire. Gentleness or philosophy or ideology has never worked with the North. GEJ must appear dull and passive to get elected like OBJ did in 1999, this country is controlled by the North via the military. Bakare's candidate Bhuari was only able to do so much because of people like Tunde Idiagbon. I stand to be corrected ZONINING is a big Fraud invented by the North. I don't trust Bhuari as well. |

There are several ways for a Pastor to be relevant in society, one minding his flocks, another is to speak out for injustice. The North cadidates are never better that GEJ up on till today. There is another dimension that Pastor Bakare do NOT know, the North want the power back desperately that they will invent any chaos because 'they are born to rule' , they want their power back, it was only on a loan to we southerners. GEJ has to thread carefully, and pretend as if he is not ambitious, until he has his own mandate for 4 years , and control PDP party machinery. Even, we know that the Hausa/Fulani are the commander in chief of the Armed forces to the point that they were mobilising 2 batalions to receive a dead body at 2am behind the President's back. GEJ need to have the Gun in his hand first, then he can pursues everyone that need pursuing. The North are just waiting for him to get trip up and they have the power back through the back door. Sorry Pastor , I disagree with you on this one, GEJ will propably lose 1 or at most 10,000 votes as a result of this, But GEJ is the better of all those parading themselves as candidates. |

A lot contributors here see this things as in blac and white. Debates is NOT where candidates are choosing , selected and elected in Nigeria up till now. and for the 2011 election it will not solve any problem. Atiku became a Northern consesnus candidates by 9 man committee, WHERE IS THE DEBATE THEN. IMO, Atiku is playing good politics(play to your strenght) finding a way to make his campaign mainstream because he is a Northern candidates of 9 man ciroma led committee of the PDP. GEJ is the sitting president. There is no requirement in PDP or even Nigerian electoral law or practices and the constitution to hold debates. @ Mikeansy, GEJ is playing the best politics of passive and dullness to remain at Aso Rock, this is OBJ copybook in 1999 until he seized the Party machinery, the rest they say is history. If there were to be debate, Atiku and GEJ are not the only candidates of PDP and there are other candidates in other parties for the general election. Atiku is just trying to enter ASo rock via confusing the ordinary Nigerians. All Atiku olituics is Northern based. I m not a TRiblisrt, but anyone that vote any Atiku or those useless Northern candidates who have ruled this country for 34years out 50 years of independnce without nothing to show for it should have their head examined. Bad as OBJ maybe, he is the best President Nigeria has in a long time. We in the south do criticise and question our own pepole and we don't fall in line blindly like the North do. Even Ribadu will be made to toe the North born to rule line if he becomes the President. Atiku will be the worst President Nigeria will have in a long time. BetaThings:The Yoruba's fought for the ticket after election success and murder of MKO Abiola by the Northerners. The North calculation then was that If SW were to seceed as they were seriously threatening then, that will be the end of Nigeria because the Igbo's would have Biafra deleivered to them on platter of gold. Then, there are also two other issues, which is a candidate the Igbo's can unite round, and whether the North will actually vote for an IGBO who is not muslim without any antecedent in the North. We take GEJ now and in 4 or 8 years Igbo EMEKA ANYAOKU is someone in that mould but he will be too old. Soludo is not in that mould,even though he is younger. |

ATIKU and IBB are promising the IGBO's presidency in 2015, how are they going to deliver on that? are they going to force all Nigerians to give the Presidency to the IGBO's? If Jonathan thinks or doesn't even think about automatic ticket for the Governors, it doesn't matter, they will propably rigged themselves in as incumbent. Everything ffor now is campaign tactics to counter your opponet, afterall ATiku and co thinks if he doesn't get PDP ticket or wi the Presidency, there will be violence? there goes a RULER not a leader. |

I am surprised that people who do not know history are falling for cheap political stunt by longthroath fools. There have been federal character in this country to accommodate everybody but when it comes to the Presidency it has been 'THE NORTHERN PROPERTY' and you should all remeber 'BORN TO RULE'. This was the case until the election and 'murder' of MKO Abiola, and the North saw handwriting on the wall that the SW might secceed, they are FORCED to hand over to OBJ, a know Hausa/fulani sympathiser, but which in fairness to him, he want a UNITED NIGERIA. All the Noise about zoning is to get power back to the North, and the south will never see the power again. IT IS THE BIGGEST POLITICAL FRAUD right now, anyone who fall for it will surely regret it. GEJ is the closest to Igbo Presidency, and the Igbo can have it in 2015 or 2019, but quite frankly the issue in this country today is not about Igbo Presidency but someone that can lead Nigeria and deliver to every Nigerians.Period. How much did OBJ deliver to SW? Atiku and IBB has not champion anything Igbo until they started running for Presidency. All they do is to marry a person from the zone and settle few people who are now coming out to increase their wealth by supporting those 2 most corrupt politicians in Nigeria. |

I like the political comedy call Nigeria. TURN BY TURN LIMITED. A minister of the FRN under the platform of PDP now turn to APGA to enable her win her senatorial seat. This woman is smart because she knew PDP will not win in that part of the country. The question for wider discusion is, did PDP and APGA philosophy and manifesto similar or majorily different? Did Ms. Akunyili stop beleieving in PDP or is she just playing smar politics to have enter bed with APGA (who has local control of Anambra) especially when PDP and Soludo lost the last election badly. |
