Travel / Malaysia Dangerous Place To Visit by vikiviko(m): 9:10pm On Jul 04, 2009
Malaysia is the most recent Countries according Rights watchdog Amnesty, who has failed to abolish caning, saying that tens of thousands of migrants had received the "inhuman and degrading" punishment in recent years.

Amnesty cited a statement in Malaysian parliament last week that said local authorities had caned at least 34,923 migrants between 2002 and 2008, 60 percent of them from neighboring Indonesia.

"Amnesty International urges the Malaysian government to rid the country of this cruel punishment," the London-based group said in a statement.

"Whipping someone with a cane is cruel, inhuman and degrading, and international standards make clear that such treatment constitutes torture."

Apart from Indonesians, those caned were also from Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines and Thailand.

Malaysia, Southeast Asia's third largest economy, has 2.2 million migrant workers in Malaysia, who are the mainstay of the plantation and manufacturing sectors.

The caning sentence was added to Malaysian immigration laws since 2002, amid concern over the ramifications of having a large migrant workforce.

Under the laws, those staying in Malaysia illegally are subject to a mandatory whipping of up to six strokes of the cane, fines and up to five years in jail.

Caning is also carried out for serious offences including rape and drug trafficking.

"The practice is humiliating, and causes such pain that people have reportedly fainted. Those caned often carry scars, psychological as well as physical, for years," Amnesty said.

Macau its Visa free, can connect through  Singaporean air

Macau is NOT a country, it is a SAR (Special Administrative Region).

Macau used to be Portugal's but now belongs to China.

Macau is a ferry-ride away from Hong kong (about 30 minutes) and is Asia's Gambling haven.

Macau is projected and forecasted to rival Las Vegas, Nevada USA's casinos. Most of Vegas casinos have already built their respective casino counterparts here (Wynn, MGM, etc.).

Because of China's and India's combined approximate and projected 4 billion people and because of Macau's proximity to the two Asian countries, Macau is expected to boom as the world's casino destination.

Whether you're a habitual, heavy or hobby gambler, it's worth visiting Macau, it's every penny's worth.

Reuben Abati is a man with 9 lives, he'll come out with another bombshell again.

He's a wordsmith, let him toy with words , all na joke.

Writers are known to be sarcastic on so many issues, Rubanti thats is new name henceforth, as clearly shown how critical he can be with Nigerian youths. The last time he wrote how crazy we are with the use of mobile phones, now identity crisis.

The most conscious people on earth are 9jas, anywhere in the world.

Few days ago i was in Radio station to air a program when a Nigerian man saw me wearing a T.shirt inscribed 'eko o ' ni baje' he screamed and hugged me , introduced me to everybody he knows aroundthat he has met a fellow a 9ja Ninja.

Nigerians are happy people, never have we been unconscious of our true 9ja identity.

Rubanti we dey wait for another bombshell from you over the weekend.

All na Joke, 9ja stylee.

Rubanti baba, true 9ja Ninja.

Amodu's defensive play really worked cos we secured a vital point.

God forbid we had lost that match.

On the performance of the Players i think Mikel Obi is under performing but i surely knows he can do better.

For the striking roles the Eneramo guy because of his built should play along Uche, we need 2 striking partners to make our attack bite.

Thank God we have a world class goal keeper in Enyeama, scoring against him almost seems impossible now.

Osaze should add more precision and dierection to his game apart from his energy and will to player there is need for creativity in his style.

The team is without a player who can dribble 2 3 players and make a correct pass for the attack.

Olofinjana is hardworking but not creative.

Maybe Obodo should be recalled to add flair into the team.

I theresay an opportunity should be extended to an enterprising local player who could spring a surprise.

Amodu will deliver Insha allah.

When is the next set of Matches?
