I know you haven't asked for insults, but i'd generously dish them out to you anyway, you can thank me later! What about the future you say? Have you asked yourself; what about the present? and how the hell will people answer those questions you asked, later in the future if they die of starvation and poverty from the economic hardship that has been visited on them by their leaders? It's a shame that many Nigerians are not gifted in the IQ arena, this is clearly one of the principal reasons why we are where we are today. Morons keep voting "smarter" Morons to power, and while the latter pillage the country of its good milk, the former tries to persuade the rest of us into seeing reasons why we must keep paying the ultimate price! If OP is not indeed a slowpoke, how come then he hasn't seen it fit to address the clear tales of a wasteful administration before encouraging us to accept the hardship that has been visited upon us by our leaders? How does it seem right that the current administration plans to spend a billion naira on food while Nigerians are being persuaded to go hungry even though for a short while? Can Nigeria afford to subsidize fuel for its citizens at a rate of 65 naira? YES!!!. . .what we can afford however is to continue to pay millions for each senator per sitting or hundreds of millions for the president's kitchen utensils! |
PointB:Wrong!. . .to avoid further bloodshed, it is time to protest and fight against current bloodshed. You gain nothing by keeping quiet and hoping your problems will fade away with the setting of the sun, it won't!!!! People should not deserve to be killed for protesting in the first place |
Those pictures makes me sick!!!! |
The police should have shot to kill. Does the govt house look like NLC secretariat? You're a moron! Life is sacred you iidiot, properties are replaceable! A protester who goes berserk should be arrested and dealt with according to the laws of the land. Advocating a shoot to kill policy in a country already plagued by extrajudicial police killings is very shameful. You ought to cower your head in shame and contemplate the terrible woes of your existence! |
The president also said that the Nigerian government included sympathizers with Islamist terror group Boko Haram. In order words; "We don't have a solution at hand and neither do we expect to have one in the future, so relax in your houses and pray to whatever god you believe in that your door step becomes invisible to the now invincible forces of Boko Haram" Ladies and gents, this is the fresh air you all voted for, the same man who spends billions of your money on security!. . .what a shame! |
I personally don't like Presidents who plan to eat a billion naira food's worth in a single year while expecting and pleading with the rest of the country to bear the pains of economic hardship! |
^^ You are forgetting that two laws proposed last year, which would have criminalized hacking in Nigeria were never signed by retardeen's administration, as such, even if SSS managed to track down the hackers, ( a very unusual case that is), Nigeria has no laws to prosecute them under |
I agree with the Poster above, the OP is truly a dunce!. . is there a standard price for a plate of food in Nigeria? I had a plate of pepper soup for 3000 somewhere on the island and the same plate would have easily cost around 500 somewhere in Akure! |
Most of our people especially gullible ones in the diaspora ran away because they couldn't stand the heat in the kitchen. Now, they want to tell us how to organize and run our country from a distant land? How sensible is that? At the outset of the North African revolution, many of their comrades outside came back to take active part despite the dangers on the ground. Some even took up arms in the case of Libya to fight. That is real Patriotism and passion to want to see their country change. In our own case, we have our peeps shouting and cursing from afar.Internet brave men and women. If war broke out in Nigeria, they would be the first to say," Thank God I left that God forsaken country", while their hosts treat them as riff raffs. Have you got integrity? Stop making the loudest noise.
I'm not usually the type to insult people on the internet, but if you think like this on a regular day, then it may be a sign that you are naturally dumb! People are abroad for many reasons you idiot!. . would you expect me to seriously stay back in Nigeria and lose out of a deal worth millions simply because I'd like to make a protest? don't be stupid, the fact that people abroad raised their voices shows they are concerned about their country, they have the option of doing nothing like several thousands of people back home! |
frosbel:SSS? tell me you are joking!!!. . .SSS can't find their anuses even if their life depended on being able to do so! I remembered they once claimed to have a strong lead on a terror case only for Nigerians to wake up to shocking evidences in form of ridiculous text messages-- "Oga na we do am". . . .wtf . . . How anyone could still put so much faith in the joke called SSS is beyond ridiculous! |
You should confirm from your airline if they still plan to fly to Nigerian on Monday. |
frosbel:. . and you are not copying the white man by speaking English? ![]() |
. . . let the inflationary trend begin! |
The same group of Nigerians who had no sense of judgement and whose voices/thumbs helped put retardeen in government are likely the same group of morons who without common sense still, are suggesting for us to to impeach the President at a time when security concerns are rife and tension amounts. It's now very clear that there are no cabals anywhere, just tens of millions of idiots who just can't think beyond their anuses! If the President gets impeached, the nation plunges further into chaos, everybody loses! |
I said once you do that no problem. But problem arises when you decide to bornSuch disgraceful errors coming from Vanguard? Lawd hammercy!!!!! |
They actually do ya know. UK border force are known to turn up unannounced at major transport hubs. Their was a particular case in one of 'em recent UK border force series on tv whereby some dude was picked up at stratford stationOK i agree, maybe my statement was in the absolute. Yes, they have the power to do so, but it will only happen in very unusual once a blue moon circumstance. I haven't heard of any other case outside of this stratford scenario! It will particularly be unwise to think the UK border force or even the Police could accost a specific group of peaceful protesters who have in all likelihood obtained permissions ahead of the protests, if they do so, they run the risk of being reported or embarrassed for harassment. There's a report on daily mail that the Police are often very careful about asking a detained suspect about his/her immigration status, cos they are careful of being embarrassed for racism and what not. UgoBabe:you may have mistaken me, my argument is not that only bad comes from Nigeria, my argument is that Nigeria is a fcking hell---the devil's own personal abode!. . .tell me just a single thing that is civilized about Nigeria, just one! |
The weather gets uglier in Britain, attended a colleague's disciplinary hearing in the morning, it was heart rending, no one's sure what will eventually happen ![]() |
UgoBabe:It will be insane to assume that civilized security outfits just go out and "pick" people up like fruits!. . that's only possible in one place in the entire world--> NIGERIA!! People don't get accosted in the street for their immigration status, unless such a person is involved in something illegal or the Border force have specific information. |
MrsAbike:look at the figures again, this time slowly, then try some common sense and you may be able to see that the question is not needed afterall. |
CyberG:The ministerial seat is not a political position, so technically, ministers are not hired by "the people". . . . plus i think it is wrong to record phone conversations without the other party being aware you are doing so, in some countries, it's actually illegal. Additionally, it cannot be established that the minister actually lied, it will be a bit foolish to make such assertions based on the evidence at hand except if no one here has actually experienced a situation where due to network problems the other party on the call is unable to hear you properly. |
looks like the dude only answers questions he finds convenient. When i asked him: "Is there a plan in place by the government to announce and implement a drastic cut in unnecessary spending"?He became blind, to the question! ![]() |
which country is "Europe"? |
yamakuza:wtf ![]() |
GEJ is the Grand Commander in chief of all armed forces of the federation, use your head dullards, that's not a protest video! |
In my experience, and like i mentioned earlier, if you are the average Joe in all respect, you'd need more than a bit of luck to get into IB, at least in UK, Europe or the Americas. The average Joe is the dude with a 2:1 in a finance/economics related course from a University of "where the hell is that", with no other skill to offer. Things become worse if the individual is not very aesthetically pleasing to the eyes, has an annoying accent, is not arrogant/confident and cannot even convince a kid that santa claus is real. People tend to stand out from average Joes' by snapping up qualifications like CFAs, CIAI, FRMs and maybe even MBA, but this designations tend to lose their appeals quickly once "everyone" owns one, or in bad markets where employers are doing the laying off instead of hiring. My advise for anyone trying to get into IB is to build a "cache" of skills that are salable rather than a bagful of designations. Those skills may include programming in VBA, C#, mathematica, C++ or python. others may include very strong financial modelling skills or even sharp knowledge of econometrics. I'm aware that only very few boutiques or banks have people with skills in risk attribution and even fewer banks have people with skills of Fixed Income attribution (most boutiques are still struggling with this) . . . .Having a combination of these skills sets will likely put you way ahead of people with CFA designations or average MBAs and will also keep you in a Job when the tides rise and fall. As a matter of fact, the company i work with recently turned down a few people who have completed all three CFA exams and offered the position to a guy who has spent only a few months seriously analyzing and freely blogging about the basic materials industry in the UK. You shouldn't however get me wrong, passing the CFA exams is still seen as an impressive effort, however, I'm convinced that this will likely help you more when you are already within the industry, than when you are just attempting to get in. Additionally, the CFA is more suitable for Asset Management than Investment Banking, if you are planning to get in the latter, an MBA will do you a lot of good than the CFA. . . you may also look into short seminars offered at INSEAD on a regular basis. These aren't very expensive, but will probably put your CV in a better perspective. There was a short 3 day seminar on M&A sometime around June last year. . . an MSc Econs and Finance is practically useless if you already have the knowledge. It probably wouldn't increase your chances of getting into IB. I'm not very sure how things work out in 9ija. . |
^^ I applaud the level of enthusiasm in your post, but sadly, reality may be far different. I honestly feel the CFA is starting to lose its appeal and in a few years, may be seen as a nice extracurricular activity than "the designation that sets you apart". Ivy league MBAs and core quantitative skills are likely to surpass CFAs as an employer's favorite. Even in the toughest market conditions, you are unlikely to find LBS graduates or individuals with sharp C++ skills going out of jobs. I also feel that most people are ignoring other areas of finance such as compliance & corporate governance, performance analysis etc. These fields have been long ignored by several people who had the M&A/trading dreams. I have two friends who got laid off from their compliance jobs after the MF global bankruptcy. Both of them got jobs with bigger banks within three weeks!!! . . . . .It's a lot easier for two camels to go through the eye of the needle at once than to pull this off with M&A / trading jobs |
strangest:Shut up! People can stand up against stupid decisions, based on principle, not necessarily because "they are probably one of them" . . . I have seen this a lot on nairaland, and it's extremely disappointing that anyone could descend so low. |
10 years without trial!!!! hell hole called country! |
I will give you three months. Three months time, come back here on Nairaland and write your story. Then we will know who the is. Action will speak louder than words.why give me three months? why not a week? |
suogal:who declared him a "man of God" when was this declared? would Jesus ever condemn people to hell? what then did Jesus die for? do you support abuse in any way? would you be happy if your father was slapped that way? The girl said she was a witch for Jesus, so what? the same Jesus that had his meals with prostitutes? who gave your daddy/papa also known as MOG, also known as a fcking twerp, the authority to declare who goes to hell and who doesn't? |
stagger:You are a big iidiot! a fuccking big idiiot! you and your papa are both fuccking idiiots! why don't we start lining people up and shooting them in the head, simply because they are witches and we should not suffer witches to live? |
Bishop my arrse! If you are still going to such churches, and kneeling before such iidiots who call themselves men of God, you are an iidioit! |
