Everfrank:Nigerians will never make up their mind, it seems several people prefer uttering outright rubbish that keeping shut! Nigerians claim to want revolution, yet everyone that speaks out loud is branded a noise maker, wht the fleeping fck? |
The arm chair journalist turned presidential apologist/propagandist has to retract one of his publications, tender apologies and pay the sum of one billion naira within seven days to avoid being sued for libel by General Buhari. If this is to avoid being sued for Libel, what's the worst that could happen? |
No doubt he's done well for himself, and i salute his courage and hardwork. That said, being a millionaire in Nigeria is still relatively being poor considering the staggering rate of inflation in the country! |
O boy, see your life for outside na? on top say man must whack! chei! |
And the next time you lie or steal or fornicate etc, also note that you are being selfish and cowardly, The same principle applies, I raised my point because I feel people need to be careful when they pass all sorts of judgment, We can never be God and we just hope to live our lives each day like there is no tomorrow,I disagree, the same principle does not apply! While she couldn't possible feel a thing anymore, free from all emotions and pains. . .her parents, siblings and best friends will have to go through a life of untold pains, inflicted on them by a child, sister and friend they care about, simply because she was having some difficult problems! The act of selfishness itself comes in when she committed suicide not minding the fact that some people's lives will be thrown in the dark by her singular actions. . . .the only essence of living is actually living for others who themselves have built their lives around us! Rather than castigate her continuously, let us examine our own lives and see this as a wake up call, It could have been anyoneThis is not a wake up call, and there's no reason to re-examine our own lives. I as well as countless other people have gone through some really difficult times, what kept us going was the fact that we realized that there are people who cared selflessly about us! It couldn't have been anyone. . .only people who don't care about others who will feel the pains of their demise will take such route! |
^^^ I suspect that you are being unnecessarily emotional, this is not to sound cold, but the lady in question (hopefully she rests in peace) deserves no sympathy! My heart goes out to her parents and siblings, who probably loved her with all they have and would have to go through the rest of their lives with a mental picture of their daughter and sister hanging on a rope----the reason? her boyfriend jilted her!!!!! what a shame! From all we know, she lived a comfortable life, her needs were promptly catered for by parents who worked their arses off just to ensure that she got all that she asked for. . . .she probably never had to worry about where her next meal will come from nor where she could lay her head in case it rains, . . . . . . there are several hundred million people around the world without homes nor families to love----she had all these and more, but she took her own life because she couldn't have kids? What a big shame!!! Life is never fair, everyone has probably or will probably experience their own fair share of depression!!. . even if suicide is not considered a sin by God, it must be considered a sin by man. . .it must be considered a sin by the family she left behind, the pains and agony she'd put them through, their lives will never remain the same again. . .she was a coward and very selfish! |
Someone sign me up now! |
bountimore:I am using the sample size of the people that i know. . . and i challenge you to give a sincere statistics from the people that you know that got better jobs in their field, either in the UK or here in Nigeria, immediately after their MSc from a Uni that hardly anyone ever hears of! If such people exist (undoubtedly they do), I'd bet my breakfast it will be only 1 in every 50 MSc holder----->most of whom already had strong connections! If you have strong networks, then it might be worth it, but if you re hoping that the MSc will help you get a job, it's a long long shot! |
^^^ I hope the OP can read this and LEARN!!!!! I have friends who resigned from their 240 grand a month job at ETB in late 2009 for a Masters in UK, some of them are back in Nigeria after not being able to secure a job in the UK. . .and to make matters worse, their bank says they ren't recruiting and even if they re, they might have to settle for a lower pay! |
Although this sounds like a good idea, it wouldn't yield much fruit, as EFCC can only prosecute a case based on sufficient credible evidence it has. If it claims that the evidence at its disposal is not credible or sufficient enough to prosecute an individual or an entity, the court cannot compel it to do so! Besides the publicity and the obvious fact that this was meant to embarrass the Jonathan's administration, even the claimants know they wouldn't get much from this case! Only the government can prosecute a case when a federal law has been broken, and even if it's obvious that the evidence on ground is substantiative enough, if the government claims it doesn't have sufficient evidence to go ahead with the case, the court will have no other choice but to bin the case. |
oyb:i agree |
haha, orisirisi. this sounds like what a guy might say after he's eaten "efo" |
See question economia:See answer i doubt if they admit anything below a first class, i no no sha, maybe they manage a 2.1. . . .then you wonder why employers aren't employing Nigerian grads ![]() |
They key is confidence, nothing more! I have a friend who got a trading role at GS. He moved in from China not quite long ago and his English/accent is far from being in shape. . .his interviewer told him in his first 15 minute that he'd rather leave GS than not see him hired!. . .and no, he didn't attend a red brick! No one gives a rat's arse on how posh your accent is. . . as long as you can hold on to your guns and you can pass on the feeling that you're the smartest person in your class! The problem with some africans is that they tend to believe that they are being constantly discriminated against, while this might be true in some cases, it's not in several other cases. Expecting to be discriminated against or thinking about it constantly will do severe damage to anybody's self esteem, and no matter how hard you try, you'd always pass across a message of being incompetent! |
@gunpoint: I understand how frustrating it must be working in a job that is not intellectually stimulating, but i'd tell you what's more frustrating---spending all your saved up capital for a Masters degree and being unemployed after your Masters degree. You must think about your immediate plans after your Masters, i.e. either to work in the UK or to return to Naija. If the former, i can tell you with a lot of certainty that unless you are as lucky as the guy who won 3 million pounds 4 times in a row on a poker night, it might be a lot easier for the camel to go through the eye of a needle than you getting a job in the UK. I'm sure you know that upon completion of your Masters, you will have only 3 months to find an employer who will be willing to sponsor you for a visa, if you don't, you will be required to leave the UK as Post study work visa has now been cancelled!. . . . again, unless you are that guy mentioned above, this is highly unlikely!!!!. . . If the latter, then the situation might be more displeasing!. . . .Unless you have someone who will be paying your bills in the UK, you are likely to be coming back, broke!. . .you will need an immediate job upon arrival in Nigeria, which as you and I know, is not available----not minding the fact that several people have the same degree you have and you don't even have sufficient experience to back it up!. . . .It's a lot more frustrating being in Nigeria with a Masters degree from UK and without job, in the end, you might find yourself going back to the bank you ran away for---hopefully by then it won't be too late. This is an advise I would give to you----HOLD on to your job for now, and think about creating a NICHE for yourself where everyone will need your service, that's how people like Seun Osewa became secretly wealthy! Of course, I know that regardless of this advise, more likely than not, you will still come to the UK anyway, as it seems from your replies that you have already made up your mind. . . .but just so you could have something to ponder on in another one or two years, i have left this post here! |
Hot, not! |
^^^ Sounds like you're only pitying her, . . If there's anything i have learnt from a past relationship, it is that one must consider his motivations carefully before going into the relationship!. . .What exactly do u like about her that would keep you tied to her in another 20 years into the future?. . .Everytime you look at her, do you see a model you'd like your kids to be like? both in terms of physical attributes and character? If she doesn't like the previous dude, why did she stick with him from secondary school up to the point where she bore him a child? If you hadn't come along, what would she do with her life? Leave that suicide story for another day, that's nothing but a cheap blackmail, she is NOT going to commit suicide!. . , . whatever decision you take now will be a principal determinant of how your future will turn out. . .think wisely, thank God you've got a Big head! |
can anyone confirm how much the pound is selling for? |
Hahaha, people blaming the US as usual, not unexpected! first, the US does not depend on Nigeria for manufactured goods or consumer products! A fall in naira will mean that US goods will be too expensive relatively compared to China imports, therefore more consumers in Nigeria will switch to made in China products than those made in the US. A fall in naira will mean we can't afford to issue contracts to US companies as they will be paid in dollars therefore all our rail contracts, power plants etc etc will be handed to Chinese companies which will be paid less as the Yuan is more affordable. A fall in naira will mean we can't depend on US companies for our refined crude products, we will ultimately look forward to some Asian company! Nigeria depends on oil exports which is priced in dollars and NOT naira, so in that aspect, Nigeria stands to gain more from a devaluation of naira. So, for you guys having us to believe that the US must be responsible, what do you think the US stand to gain from a fall in Naira? |
then such a nation is destined for doomby saying destined for doom, you re implying an event that will take place in the future!. . .if yes, you re wrong, Nigeria is hades, the devil's real home! |
9dynasty:I am so unusually upset, it beats me how people could have the will to do this. . .A man lying in the pool of his own blood. . .a mob gathered with sticks and stones and continues to brutally inflict pains on the already dying man in the presence of several hundred others. . . .not satisfied with their conquest, they set him on fire the first time, . . . . .the man, even though already weak having lost so much blood, stood up from the ground and ran in pain. . . . the mob went after him with sticks and everything, they couldn't afford let him get away, he must die they thought to themselves. . . , . .they caught up with him in a flash and kicked him even harder than they ever did, blood spluttered all over his face, he finally gave up the fight to live. . .he lay in the street waiting for his final moments. . . .the mob was glad he gave up the fight, they soaked the already dying man in gasoline, and right in the presence of hundreds of witnesses, they set him ablaze. . .they killed him!!! The picture of it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. . . |
EzeUche:. . .and those guys live among us, we call them our neighbors, we call them business partners, we call them friends, they have just taken away a man's life, and they don't even feel a damn thing! No one will investigate this, everyone will wake up tomorrow and simply forget it ever happened! |
If someone kills my dog like this, i'd shoot em in the head, this is just so damn fcking cold! |
MURDER in the streets of NIGERIA This sickens me from inside, how can people be so bloody cold? . . . Bode George stole billions and was celebrated, this man stole a necklace and his life was taken away in the most animalistic, barbaric manner! |
Female, single and not more than 28years of age.PA to chairman you say?. . .orisisirisi! Ability to worknow this looks more like it! |
kayeyes:For future career prospects in Nigeria, I'd choose Lagos Buiness school over LSBF anyday anytime. |
@Poster If you take this decision, i can assure you, more likely than not, you WILL regret it!. . .this is NOT a time to take up Masters in the UK, but if you are bent on doing so, any school outside Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial, LSE is a NO NO!!!! The facts are there; the unemployment rate in the UK is staggering and employers can afford to make choices, and trust me, the chances are badly stacked up against you if you have a Masters from any school outside of the ones above. . .even Manchester or UCL is a NO NO!!! First, you won't have a visa to work in the UK after graduation, that puts you behind thousands of other students from the EU. Second, you don't have astonishing A level grades, that puts you miles behind hundreds of thousands of other students who do Third, you have a 2:2 degree from NIGERIA, that places you in the 2506909th position Fourth, you don't have an outstanding-wow-me-the-Bleep experience in engineering, and to make matters worse, you will be having masters from a Uni no one gives a toss about?. . . .that puts you in the erhm. . .what position now? To give a clearer picture, and if the rumored statistics are anything to go by, for every single job advertised, there are 120 people applying, and among those 120, you have british citizens (so they dont need a visa) with outstanding A level results, graduated top of their class in engineering and already had numerous impressive internships under their belts, why do you suppose an employer would choose you over them?. . .hell, you can't even speak better English than them, and chances are they are far younger than you! I'd advise that you look into opportunities in IT consulting, I know that's what i'd be doing if i were you!. . .there are several small companies in Nigeria who thirst for these services, truth is that they may not know it themselves. . . .it's up to you to identify technology lapses in certain sectors and come up with outstanding solutions, Health is an example of a sector that could do with such services! |
