May be you'll finally see when it is too late.He doesn't have to be responsible for the actual crime before he's punished,. . . .as long as it's his responsibility to supervise those reporting to him. same way the UBS chairman was forced to resign due to the huge losses caused by the rouge trader, of cos, it's not his fault that the dude went out of line, but it's his responsibility to ensure that company rules are adhered to and ongoing activities are well monitored. |

faceurbook:Hi, can i ask, how did you come by this volunteer arrangements? |
I don't think getting the CFA will give you any edge in this climate. An Ivy-league MBA on the other hand will open doors faster than you can blink your eyes. From the information you've provided, it seems to me that you have close to 5 years of work experience already; given this fact, i will suspect that the only reason your CV was turned down was because you haven't sold yourself highly. I'd advise that you re-word your CV to highlight some rare tangible achievements ---> like when you led a chess club to international competition and you came out first place; or like when you solved the endemic problem of draught in suburban regions and you negotiated the best deals for local farmers---. You should also consider taking some programming classes, you will never go wrong with VBA and C++, as this demonstrates an aptitude for quantitative structural thinking, . . .a trait well valued by many recruiters! If you are applying to top schools, you should be working hard on your GMAT as well. . .a high GMAT score on your CV will easily give you the impression of smartness! I don't think many people are bothered with your HND or the type of degree you get, people are more concerned about where you've been, what you've achieved with your life and what you are capable of achieving in the future. If you can't get into an MBA program in a red brick (peharps because your experience is not sufficient enough) , consider taking an MSc degree, still from a top school. . .the funny side to it is that it doesn't matter what your MSc degree is specialized in, a philosophy graduate from Oxford or Cambridge is more likely to get into IB than the financial engineering graduate from Exeter. . .employers value names, as that's what they sell to their clients. |
I remember me and Cap28 stating that the ideology of the boko haram and their activities have been highjacked by some foreign agencies such as the CIA et al and some ignorant NLers laughed off such possiblity.funny how in some people's vocab, foreigners always turn out to be CIA agents! ***smh*** |
I have lost respect for a number of people on this forum!. . . It's unfortunate that there are still a cavemen in this day and age who view women as objects for mere satisfaction, and brazenly, these same sets of early men would be the furiously foaming all over the place if their mum was a victim and "she only pushed the seventh guy humping her away" weakly! what's more stoopid? someone thinks it's highly improbably that this couldn't be a r'ape case simply because the events took place on the University grounds, and "students like to do wild things". . .i assume this ediot probably considers "begging for death" a request that could only come about in a moment of wild ecstasy! You dogs make me sick! |
porka: porka:The federal government will always pay you your money back, they can do so by printing more money or raising taxes, for this reason, you get a small amount of interest on your money, although normally higher than the savings rate. Corporate organizations cannot guarantee to always pay you back your investments in full, for this risk, you get a higher amount of interest on your money, much higher than what the feds is offering. If companies find themselves in a situation where they cannot pay pack their debt holders, they can always approach the stock market to sell stakes in the companies. But usually, once a company finds itself in a situation where it cannot afford to pay creditors, no one will be willing to by its stakes, and existing stakeholders would rather much be selling, the comapany loses share value and in many cases declares bankruptcy!. . .when this happens, it's asset will be put on sale at market value and the cash raised will be used to settle debt holders. State governments always have the state's resources as collateral! |
I noticed you used "suffer" when you meant "so far", it's just so horrible i had to login and type this! |
porka:Nigeria is not Greece, Italy, or Spain! those countries are within the Eurozone and cannot print money to pay back their debts as inflation within the Eurozone is controlled by the ECB. . .those countries would have to generate revenue and stimulate growth to pay back their creditors The USA has not defaulted and the US treasuries continues to be a risk free proxy even after the downgrade!. . . .the US can always print money to pay back its debts! Nigeria can always pay back it's bondholders, the only risk being that if the country gets so broke, and it results to money printing, inflation will likely wipe out the yield on your bond and at the end of the day, you are left with real losses on your investments. This risk of course is priced into the bonds themselves and will determine how much you ask for in terms of rates. |
graluxxy054:and what would you do with several real male dycks in your handbag? |
It's just disrespectful to call a dick . . . . .a joystick! what i have down here is certainly not a child's plaything! |
. . .interesting! |
tickets with no strings attached? it's more realistic to expect the sun's rising from the West |
and to expect that standards will improve when privatized, is folly.explain to us why you think it's folly to expect that standards will improve when privatized. |
Barely a few months ago, Nairalanders came out en mass demanding an apology from the International Monetary fund for daring to make a disappointing forecast on possible future trends of the Naira. . . . it was indeed a very Nairalandish moment; blaming everything western including the official cat on 10 Downing street whilst ignoring their country's fundamental problems. The IMF boss must be having a good laugh . . .down goes the naira, slowly but surely! |
The dude should have "juba-ed" to "awon Iya" before carrying out dangerous acts beyond his power limits. Awon Iya a fi kondo tayin. Awon Iya Osoromonga |
This woman has given a large chunk of her life and served Nigeria than the state governor himself. Mayflower's legacy should be preserved, not left in the hands of a clueless government whose interest are at best polictical! Sheila obirin ogun, omo to bi je gberun lo mele ka won ton! Koi to, koi to, sha ma kowa niso lo, a o somo fun o!

LOOOOL funny as hell! |
Insert QuoteYou may be right, but then also, you may be wrong. What you have here is a General who has served twice as the head of state and once as a military ruler, been a part of the bloodiest military coups in 1975, and survived some of the bloodiest assassination attempts led by Col. Dimka. What you have here is a man who has served as a peace mediator in some of the fiercest civil war of some third war african nation and has also conveniently looted his country men high and dry while installing subsequent "dummy" presidents who will always pay homage to the "ebora of ewu" True he may not be among the most intelligent men alive, but boy, the dude is smart and sharp, he's capable of springing up surprise on anyone from anywhere! |
I have to admit that there was no relationship (dating) before marriage. we married the old fashion way.could you explain what this means? By old fashion way, is it safe to infer that it's more of a family arranged marriage? |
How come everyone, who probably heard about the case from the newspapers written by some guy, have concluded ahead of autopsy results or conclusive investigations, that this guy must be guilty of murder? |
Abayomin70:How did you know he committed the crime when the autopsy is not even out yet? na wa o! |
she was asked. . . . How true is the rumor that you are a heavy smoker and can’t do without cigarette? She answered. . . . We are just so shallow minded. How does that come into the way I act? Excuse me (voice raised).if she doesn't have problems with English, then she must be a dunce!. . . . .only dunces give other answers to questions that are specific!!!! |
Take it easy on yourself bro, Jim Iyke is definately on POINT! Stop the beef and try kpomoWhat he had on is a formal dinner outfit, the white shirt should normally go with a bow knot plus it's just embarrassing to put on dark shades on tux in a house/tent!. . .it made him look so tacky and out of place! |
If your sole objective is to become stupendously wealthy. . . .Stay the f&ck out of sciences, except of course if you are exceptionally brilliant enough to come up with a penile enlargement drug that actually works!! (or anything else the world will gladly pay an arm and and a leg to have) Pharmacists in the US might expect to get well paid given the somewhat shortage? of skills in this sector, but when you bring it home to Nigeria, our pharmacists are the people standing behind the local counters filling prescriptions. . .only a very small percentage make it to big industries where they can expect to get paid a satisfactory, not necessarily a handsome wage. Obviously the views stated above are my personal perceptions of things, I'd obviously welcome the views of a pharmacist or any other person working within basic/pure or applied sciences on what the salary structure in the industry looks like. |

Long-list is a list from which shortlist is prepared! It means you are among the 1000 or so people they are currently considering. |
Dauchman:It doesn't! a terrorist is a man who is determined to die and take several others along with him. A database of cars and its owners helps officials to make informed decisions, gather intelligence, explain missing clues etc etc. |
the importance of a state-owned database over a federal one is that the state is better situated to manage and update the database. And if each state has its own database it is pointless to create a federal database. All each state needs to do is provide an administrative password for sister states so that an officer in another state can verify the registration.Isn't it a lot more efficient to access one database for information than access 36? A state managed database would mean people that are interested in accessing information would rely on local servers, what happens in a case where lagos workers are on strike and the server in lagos was shut down? should that impede the capacity of other officials nationwide to access information?. . .How about if there is no "light" to power up the server in Kano? If the importance of a state owned database is the fact that it allows for easy management, i see no reason why his cannot be achieved with a global database as all you require is input from state officials to a central server which is managed by a central IT group. An illustration of this is better provided with the workings of the corporate world. Companies with hundreds of branches spread all over are more efficient in transmitting information around simply because they manage a central database. |
Princek12:I understand that an explanation has been provided by @ chines4 on vehicle registration, but as an asides, i'd like to address a few things in your notes. First, there are 36 states in Nigeria, and for the exercise to make any sense at all, what you need is a global database and the ownership of that can only be claimed by the federal government not individual states. A global database will ensure that the officers on the streets of Zamfara can simply access information about a vehicle registered anywhere in Nigeria and so also will first aiders in Ebonyi. Secondly, you don't have to fax pre-existing data to Abuja, all you need to do is to merge existing database with the global one such that all data becomes consolidated and not individually segmented. A vehicle registration officer in Lagos can simply log in to the global database and supply new information on any vehicle, this becomes immediately available to every other accredited official nationwide. Asides from where you mentioned that each states are responsible for registering individual cars, you are yet to highlight the importance of state owned database over a global one. However, it is important to also note that having a federal database DOES not take away the state's responsibility for car registration, they simply have to feed the data collected into a global database, it's probably going to take the official involved a couple of minutes to get the job done! |
