Koikoi:If this rumors are true, then Jos is finished! |
If actually they arrested up to 75 people in the previous murders. then where did all these killers come from? it appears 8 in 10 people on the streets in Jos are likely to commit murder! |

JOS, Nigeria (Reuters) - Attackers armed with machetes killed at least 18 people in two separate attacks in villages in central Nigeria on Tuesday, the latest in a series of ethnic and religious clashes in the troubled region. Thirteen of the victims, including women and children, were killed in an attack on the largely Christian village of Wareng in Plateau state in the early hours of the morning, police commissioner Abdulrahman Akano said. "I can authoritatively confirm that 13 people have been killed in that night attack," he told reporters. A further five people were killed in what appeared to have been a reprisal attack in the village of Barkin Ladi, he said. The violence underscores security concerns in Africa's most populous nation as it prepares for presidential, parliamentary and state governorship elections in April. Plateau state, of which Jos is the capital, lies in the "Middle Belt" where the mostly Muslim north meets the largely Christian south. The region is seen as a potential flashpoint ahead of the polls. President Goodluck Jonathan, a southerner, faces a tough election battle with his main contender, ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar, a northerner, and some analysts fear the national debate could become polarised around north-south rivalries. Jonathan's candidacy is controversial because of an agreement in the ruling party that power should rotate between the north and the south every two terms, a rhythm which his victory would interrupt. http://af.reuters.com/article/worldNews/idAFTRE70A4DL20110111 |
RoadStar:Are you fúcking kidding me? She was responsible for the country's stock exchange, you muppet!. . . this is nothing but fraud, she should be going to jail!. . a care worker got a jail term in the UK for lying on her CV that she had A levels when she actually did not. It's disgusting that supposedly smart people don't see a big deal in this, with this kind of mentality, whoever is talking about a better Nigeria is clearly delusional! |

@OP The first rule of every first date is that guy picks the bill {It's there on the back page of the manual}. . . . only twats believe otherwise! It's a different thing if you ve been with each other for a while and the girl decides to give you a treat! |
Such a display of membership solidarity is rarely seen these days, very impressive! |

I agree wwith you that it would be anomalous for nigeria to send troops into an independent country that is prob in better shape than we are economicallyFirst, Nigeria is NOT planning to send troops to Ivory Coast, rather, ECOWAS is considering doing so! Nigeria is not Ecowas! Second, what exactly do you mean that Ivory Coast is in a better shape economically? you should start by comparing Lagos and NOT Nigeria! |
what moral justification does obj or jonathan have in medalling peace in cote d'ívoire?Who is looking for moral justification? Ivory Coast is at the verge of bloody civil war with millions of innocent lives at risk and you are looking for moral justification? That OBJ had third term presidential ambition does not make him any less morally just than my neighbor who inflates the price of pure water just because he maintains monopoly in the market! Like it or not, OBJ is the best man for the job given his experience in resolving crises in the past. The UN knew of his indictments in various financial fraud cases in Nigeria and yet appoints him as a special envoy to the war torn democratic Republic of Congo. I am not holding briefs for him and I sincerely believe he ought to be punished if found guilty of such indictments, but saying he isn't the man for the Job is not a reasonable conclusion. ivory coast is called petty paris - small paris and can never be compared to nigeria when it comes to basic arminities including security. This is where i realized how rétarded you are! |
Now they call in the bad guy ![]() |
Yeah! You see, the point is, Investors are being made to pay for a "likelihood" that they will venture into other things!. . .and the rule of thumb is that as a savvy investor, you shouldn't be buying into a claim that a company will sky rocket their revenue, it's happened several times and it always end in harsh reality and tears. Nobody in their right mind pays tomorrow's value today. What they do is to pay LESS than they EXPECT the future value to be. Otherwise there is no return to be made! If Goldman Sachs are putting money in at a valuation of $50bn, they are hoping it will go UP from that point and that makes this particular number all the more crazy. And there is my point. For Facebook to be valued at such an enormous figure, there are those who are simply assuming (without hard evidence) that everything will continue to be peachy and to grow exponentially, but it won't. Numbers like $50bn against a backdrop of minimal profit just doesn't add up We can only speculate as to what Facebook will look like in the future and we start with the biggest assumption of all - that it will continue to exist. Those guys you listed up there put their cash in, in time from private equity in deals that most probably placed the site's valuation at a fraction far less than what GS is currently putting on it |
^^^ Even at 30 bn, Facebook is still way overvalued, i wouldn't put my money on such!. . .BT a solid company with real products and real track record has a value of just about 25 bn dollars, . . . . At 50 Billion, Facebook has more value than Morgan Stanley!. . . except Facebook starts a product which allows for friends to pay to call each other from their profile page, i doubt they will be able to net any tangible returns on investment Truth is, the only winners here are Mark Zuckerberg and Goldmann Sachs The losers will be an average investor who will be left holding the short end of the stick once wall street realizes that the firm's financial performance does not live up to its valuations. Much has been made of the rapid growth of Facebook users, but turning this into hard cash has always been the greatest challenge for any internet service company - especially when the service being provided is not one that people would actually pay for. So, the prime revenue stream is advertising clicks through. In this respect, Facebook achieves a click-through rate of just 0.04% from its 500 million users in gaining its $1bn revenue. Even if every member of the human race was a user, this would only get them to $12bn of revenue, . . . . .and who are the future users? Here is the problem! New Facebook users are now coming primarily from the developing world, not from the US or Europe. Not the places most likely to yield high revenues. Jaybee, please don't be buying facebook share anytime soon o. . .i will wait till the valuations come around to about 5 to 10 billion! Besides, there is a big risk that people might just decide to reduce the amount of information they share on cyberspace or like partygoers move to another exciting social media |
jay bee:What do you think of the valuation? do you think GS is nuts to have placed such a value on a social networking site with unrealistic earnings estimate? Personally, i don't see sustainable future earnings that could provide a sensible ROI from the valuations placed on this investments, if it goes public, many people will be paying really expensive price for the stock till the markets correct itself and investors lose cash, from all indications it appears like a bubble and as always, Goldman is always found at the center of everything mischievous! |
Those of you disappointed that she's leaving acting for marriage should get a real life, i wonder if it will make any of you feel better if she had chosen otherwise! |
What a piece of Junk! People peddling wrong information for their own gains! mega crap! Anyone with two little cells that forms a tiny brain, big enough to process the simplest basic information, should know that a site valued at over 50 Bn dollars will not just shut down simply because managing the site is "stressful" |
toba:probably because your thong shouldn't be in your mouth to begin with! |
@Ode Remo PDP is going down in Ogun, this will be the final and major battle. let's await the governorship aspirant for other parties |
