Please, has anyone tried booking flights via bookingdotcom? What was your experience like?

Please let me know, make I no go throwaway money!
I have.

Once you book and get a reference number, you manage your flight on the flight's portal as if you booked from the flight portal.

Hello people, I need a little help on how to go about this please.

Shouldn't the £10 I paid to Ringo count? Am I wrong not to have paid the £25 they asked?
The penalty was issued before you paid for parking so the full penalty fine subsists.

It will be wise to pay the £35 balance before it escalates further.

Thanks for the swift reply.
I will do as advised.

2. I have a car, which I have been driving here for 4 months now
Go ahead and book the test, you don't need an instructor. I did several times with my car about every two weeks even though the initial rebooking will be like 6 months away, there were always close date to reschedule.

In the meantime, it might be worth getting an instructor for a mock test.

HELLO HOUSE.

I just passed my driving theory test (45/50; 56/74) and when I tried to book for the practical test, the earliest date I got was 17/02/2024.
My international driver's license will expire on the last day of January 2024.

My questions:
1. Should I go ahead and book? Can I get to see an earlier date later after booking and can I get to change the date to an earlier date if seen?

2. Can I go ahead and book before I get an instructor? Or should I get an instructor first before booking.

NB. I have been driving in Nigeria for 10 years. And 4 months in the UK.

PLEASE ADVISE.

THANKS IN ANTICIPATION
1. Yes. After booking, be checking the site frequently, like every 10 minutes; you will get a date in less than 2 weeks.

2. It depends...do you have a car?

I think the DVLA should look into the one year restriction to driving on UK roads for intl drivers. If am allowed to drive around for 1yr, how do i suddenly become less qualified to drive?
Trust issues.

Na why teachers after teaching you, they will ask do you understand, you go answer yes, do you understand very well, yes.

Them go still go set exams.

I said I understand, why not let the matter end there.

After all if you've been driving for one year, why not just take the test and pass.

Thanks for your response. I don't know what I did wrong, Marshmallow said they can't offer me insurance after I finished filling the online forms... They directed me to confused.com

Another one I tried brought £2600 annual, £233 monthly and £490 deposit!

This is shocking
This is a hack, a legal one but cannot be used urgently because you'll need time. Others thinking of buying a car can try it as well, that is what I did and I'm currently paying like half of what I would ordinarily be paying for insurance.

If you're ready to pass your driving test and ready to buy a car, get a car and get a privisional driving licence.
Get an insurance on the provisional licence, insurance on provisional license is usually very cheap because they know you can't drive with it.

Then take your driving test and pass. Update your insurance to the full license, the insurance price will remain the same or go up just a little.

Am so happy today, I passed my practical test on second attempt though with just three minor faults.
Please I want to ask, do I need to inform my insurance of my new license status or do I still stick to my former status which was International license. If yes, please why?
Yes inform them.

If you don't inform them, the insurance will be on your int'l licence which is now invalid making the insurance invalid. You won't be able to make a in the event of an accident and this may be costly.

Except you want to continue to drive on the int'l license and not the UK license.

Do private insurance..check what the plan covers.

Or go to Nigeria but you'd need to have sufficient leave days if there are tests or procedures that need to be done.
Thank you. Let me check the plans in private insurance.

Thanks to everyone for responding to my enquiries, I can't start quoting everybody but I appreciate you all.

Much love 🙏😘

I have a few questions, if you have an answer to any please provide:

* can I go to a private gynaecologist without NHS referral?
* what is the average cost for a private gynaecologist?
* if I do private health insurance, will they fund visits to private gynae?
* the wait time for NHS gynae is quite long (around one and half year) am I better off going to Nigeria or another EU country?
* if you have used a private gynae, please refer with any information that may be useful.

Thanks

I was a victim of this in my first few months in this country, the default advise given to new immigrants is to find a Nigeria church so as to get help with job, accommodation etc
Perhaps you didn't 'approach with your eyes wide open and senses on guard'. You have yourself to blame.

A church is a community of people with the same/similar beliefs and practices. There is nothing wrong in advising someone to seek help in a community be it religious, professional, traditional or tribal community. Your expectations and approach is what matters.

Don't lose guard because you think they are holy. Be at alert.

There are different packages, some sets, like £1k, some sets like £2k. It is the complete set that costs around that £4k and I believe that is what the wicked relatives went for on their behalf.

Investment of any kind is not illegal under the skilled worker visa. After all everyone is allowed to open and invest in government-enabled stocks and shares ISAs, and even get the bonus in stocks and shares LISAs.

The restriction is on work. So taking additional employment and being paid for work performed.
So the Govt. sees being paid for extra work done differently from income earned from investments made?

I get your point.

It's the choice of the governor to choose the candidate of the party

As a deputy you have to know you have a near zero chance to succeed him

You can't have ambition to be governor and accept deputy position... It's highly unlikely
This here is the truth.

In life, no master wants his boy to become his master, that is why it is difficult for a deputy gov. to succeed the gov. The gov. would rather sponsor someone else. That is also why no vice president has succeeded any president in Nigeria except Jonathan that his boss died.

Hello everyone,
Please I need advice.
I'm in a situation and i need advice on how to opt out.
So my uncle wife took advantage of my wife because of too much respect. (wifey bleeped up big time). We recently moved close to them because she's the one who helped us with COS. She recommended a cooking pot (salad master) as we needed to set up the house and kitchen, but i declined immediately after i heard the price (4200 pound DD payment for 4years for 5pcs set.)
During the chat, i discovered she'll get about 500quid referral and thats why she's desperate for us to buy it. The discussion happend about 3 other times and my response was no. My uncle got involved at a point and he also supported her wife because that's what they use too but i insisted. Then she turned to my wife and start to convince her but we'd already discussed and it was a NO.
Fast forward to a month after, my wife was in their house sleeping, she then woke her up only for her to see the pot has been supplied, and they were already cooking with it for her induction and to use it. In the prescense of the supplier, my wife tried telling her we've already discussed this many times and we were not interested but she cut her and told her since they were already cooking with it, we cant opt out. She couldnt call me because she wasn't with her phone. She ensured all the paper works was done and DD was set before she let her near her phone. My wife has so much regard for her and that's why she couldn't say NO. Too much respect...

I got to know that day and i got mad at her, how can you let her lure you into a 4k financial engagement despite several discussions, she just dey cry and she was preggy....

I immediately told her to come take the pot but the supplier said no way, DD has been set and there's no going back)(dey don plan am.)
Bleep up i did was, i should've rang the company directly but i just gave up because i dont want issues between me and egbon.
Now, COS no get shift, there's no work in cardiff at all and all the load is on me. DD is 94quid per month and it's choking.

Here is my question, is there anything i can do to opt out legally? we're 6 months into the contract and it feels like forever, i dont mind losing 1k just to opt out, but i dont wanna do this no more... We can't afford with the all the bills and expenses we already have.

It's tiring...
I look forward to ya'lls suggestions
Painful...

In retrospect, read the terms and conditions of these kind of contracts no matter how bulky it may be, you would have seen your right to cancel within 14 days. A genuine org would mention this to you but I doubt these guys will.

As the pressure was getting too much, I would have just dash my uncle's wife the £500 let the matter die.

Unfortunately, it will be wise to fulfill the contract to the end, you uncle and his wife have lost their respect, if I were you, if they don't have the power to revoke the COS or affect your continued stay in UK, take the pot to them let them be seeing it everyday in their house as a reminder of their wickedness, cast them to other family members that they ganged to scam you guys, cut ties with them because they have scammed you once, they will scam you again.

Hello good people, please I would like to clarify an information even though I understand it may have been discussed here before.

Please can a tier 2 visa holder open a stock and shares account to buy etfs and earn dividends? Does this violate their visa rule in any way if it’s just for investment purposes but will be earning? Will this be considered a form of trading please?
I was in this dilemma as well and was using T212 at the time. I contacted them several times via email and chat about it, their response was consistent that I can "buy" stocks on the platform without violating the visa rules. Now see the confusion; my question was can I continually trade without violating visa rules? Their response was I can continually buy without violating visa rules.

I didn't know if the use of the word buy in their response as opposed to trade in my question was intentionally so I closed my account with them and opened a new account in my wife's name since my wife is a dependent and does not have restrictions on doing several work or earning extra income.

They seem to be the cheapest from Lagos for the next few days.

Anyone who has used them recently please advice.

But Las Las , you still pay every penny . No be free money abi?
This is the idea behind credit (especially the interest free ones)

If you want to buy something of 1k and you have the cash, rather than pay the 1k cash, you can put it in a high yield investment account for it to generate interest while you pay the credit small small. So before you exaust the 1k on the credit, it would have generated money for you.

There are stocks that you'll buy and if you are lucky, it will generate all the money to pay the credit.

Hi guys, my letting agent sent a mail yesterday that they are coming for inspection of the property. Currently, my kids have stained some part of the wall in the sitting room and the carpet is stained but i can easily pay someone to come watch it spotlessly. Would it be right to paint the wall using the same paint? How long notice can I give them to come and do the inspection? I am also paying regular insurance for the property which amounts to £10,000 for stained wall, carpets or damage furniture and I haven't missed a payment since I moved.

What should I expect from the inspection as well?

Thanks in advance
Which insurance are you using aand how much so you pay monthly?

Looks like I need one because my son don finish my was with black and blue pen. I was thinking of leaving my deposit with them when I want to move but let me consider the insurance option.

If i were in your shoes, I would not use my car......... Your vehicle does not have instructor's pedal fitted........

That instructor's pedal, is your examiner's life insurance....... Without it, your examiner would feel exposed like a fish, out of its pond........ 😁

The examiner would inspect your vehicle, and would fail it, for the slightest reason....... Just pay about £100 and use an instructors vehicle..........
Not really.

The examiner would rather terminate the test at any danger and this can also happen with instructor's vehicle with dual control.

The law says you can use your personal vehicle provided all conditions are met. These examiners are professionals, they don't use emotions.
