I applied for visit visa for my mum, due to postponing the biometrics date, the biometrics date is now just two weeks away from the intended travel date mentioned in all the application docs.

We have agreed that the intended travel date will not work so plan to postpone. Do I need to write a letter explaining that we have changed travel date and upload or leave things the way they are?

1. No need to include you CAC or mention your company if it is not operational.
If you make mention of owning a company, you will need the company's bank account statement with transactions and tax clearance for it to count. Failure to provide these could be detrimental
2. Feb and March is a long time to suspect the deposit so I wouldn't bother explaining. By the way, if you use 6 months statement, the Feb. deposit may not appear depending on when you apply.

The first picture is a total tax deduction from a legal tier-2 visa holder. Remember, this person has paid the IHS upfront. This person has NOT been able to get an NHS dentist. This person has been held in a 7 month NHS waiting list.

Kindly note the amount of this person’s tax that has been pumped into the NHS. In addition to the IHS which has been paid upfront.

Also kindly note the amount of this person’s taxes that have been pumped into ‘Welfare’.
Remember, this person has No Recourse to Public Funds.

I agree! By all means complain away but direct it to the right source. Over the past month there has been constant hullabaloo on this thread about the proposed changes to the student visa and now IHS. People come on here to seek information and also to unwind but in recent times it has turned into an argument match for and against UK/Nigeria. If folks are so aggrieved with the government immigration policies, mobilise yourselves and March to Downing Street, Westminster or wherever it is that they make the laws and protest. Constantly nagging about the government on this thread is not going to bring about any change.

Better still start a petition on change.org and ask your local MP to present it to the House of Commons.

I used to advocate for a stop to these debates of Govt vs Immigrants who benefits more, but no need again, when them tire them go stop.

Best now is skim through the thread because once in a while there would still be something informational.

Try store cards e.g Argos card, ASDA card etc and paypal pay in 3. These are all credit cards and could break the barrier.

Also reduce the frequency of applications following a rejection.

Is there any condition that stops one from :

Getting provisional license
Writing theory test
Doing practical test
Then start to drive alone without supervision in one month or two?

Aside from maybe booking time, slot, ability to learn UK pattern faster and all that. Is there like a certain rule that says all this can’t happen in a month or two?

If there are no rules, please can anyone share reason why it may not be possible.

When you go for the practical test, you will be mandated to sign two consents.

1. That you have lived in the UK for at least 180 days.
2. That the car you want to use for the test is insured for the purpose of driving test.

You only need your normal driving license.

If you are caught with international license, you will be asked to produce the normal license.

Like I said, it’s based on eligibility, credit history and personal circumstances. I get offers like that regularly from my banks. I bank with HSBC, Barclays, TSB, MBNA etc but I rarely take them up.

And I'm here forming loyalty to Lloyds and Monzo. Be like na to join the switching bandwagon like this o.

Seriously I was about to say the same thing. Personal loans are usually cheaper than PCP and Higher Purchase deals. Loan rates will vary between 2.5% to 7.5% depending on circumstances, credit history and eligibility.

Ilyods bank offered me car financing with two options Higher purchase and PCP. are there any downsides to using the higher purchase offer? I didn't qualify for a personal loan.

I can't tell you which option to go for, but personal loan in my opinion is the least.

Personal loan: they will give you the money to do what you want, you will use it to pay for the car and you will pay back at interest rate of about 20%.

The other two options (HP/PCP): they will pay for the car themselves and it will be delivered to you. You then pay back at interest rate of about 8%.

Simply put, you don't know how to drive.

Look for a driving tutor that can take you on a crash course, you can get one from Acclaim Driving School or anywhere around you or even FB.

If you are not able to meet up before resumption, simply tell your employer you need to take driving lessons in UK before putting a car on the road.

They may have an alternative like electric bike.
