kpdc85: @vivian he actually proposed, after i asked for the meaning of wat he meant,i was shocked i also felt he needed space,i entered to get my bag but he came n stopped me ,said i was going no where, infact that had wanted to turn to another issue,i had to succumb so he doesnt start telling himself his wife to be is heady
I understand, totally. But sometimes u have to just disagree with a man, in a most possibly polite way. If those statements hurt u, then don't even try to sit him down in the name of talking to him, else the word 'desperate' would be written all over ur forehead. He feels that way already. Give him space! Do not tell him "hey honey, I'm giving u a space," just be charming and nice to him but be emotionally withdrawn. Concentrate on urself more than on the relationship. That way, he would wish for u to be stuck with him.

Babe, u cannot always do his wish just because u wanna be called a 'good wife,' in this case 'to be.' it could get worst. U really have to start standing ur grounds. If he hurts u by deeds or words, show him that and don't let him cajole u.

Whether in the heat of argument or not, he ought to have understood that a woman's pride is fragile. When hurt a tiny bit it makes them feel desperate. It is his duty to protect this pride and not utter words that will make u feel less about urself!
RomanceRe: Am Scared -am I Loosing My Relationship by vivianc(f): 8:04pm On Mar 13, 2013
Forever scares the hell outta some people (including me), that I understand, but him reacting the way he did is uncalled for.
Come to think of it, warning u about saying such thing? And you call him ur fiance? How exactly did he become ur fiance? Was it by default or he actually proposed?

If I were u, I will beam him a smile (I always do that when I'm up to no good), go back to my house and give him space, cos from all indication he needs it. I didn't say break up with him o, I said give him space.

But then again u are not me............

RomanceRe: How Did You Think Babies Were Made Before You Eventually Found Out How? by vivianc(f): 7:51am On Mar 13, 2013
I thought every one had tiny babies in their stomach, the more u grow the baby becomes bigger. Big that ur normal stomach can no longer contain hence the protruding stomach.

PropertiesRe: "Face Me I Face You" Experience by vivianc(f): 1:50pm On Mar 12, 2013
hardbody: I missed that experience but certainly will not wish it for my kids either, infact it is not even possible, i have already put up a house, no a home for them. However, it makes interesting reading and one thing i noticed is that kids from those face me i slap you kind of houses are so rugged that you had better think twice before you engage them in fights while we were in the junior classes. Them go beat shege commot from your body. One of those grown ladies then really embarrassed me in class way back....
Of course, no body wishes for his/her kids to pass through what he passed through. We have all made those sacrifices for them, we have all died, struggled and are still struggling for them to have a better life. Its just good to tell the stories so that they will learn from, and appreciate how lucky they are to have those benefits and privileges thus being compassionate towards others.

As for the 'ruggedness,' maturity and exposure take care of that. Unless for some very rare occasions people mistake ur being civil for weakness or stupi..dity, then u go back to ur root a tiny bit.

Good to see ladies are sharing theirs now. I for say whether all of us na ajebutter. cool
PropertiesRe: "Face Me I Face You" Experience by vivianc(f): 11:45am On Mar 12, 2013
Omg! grin this is hilarious! I just went down memory lane and I'm gonna share mine.

We stayed in one as kids. There were lots of fighting and quarrelling, in fact as kids we prayed for it cos we loved seeing the 'actor' and 'boss' so whenever people fought we played the spectators. Then the turn by turn sweeping of compound and washing of the public lavatory no be small thing o

Then amongst ourselves as kids we re-act foreign action movies like no retreat no surrender, etc. We would construct a local gun and be running around the bush. Then we flew kite, drove borex, back tumbling, etc and don't forget the group fight grin. Menh it was fun.

Then there was a case of young guys then bringing in different girls and would be making some silly noise (so we thought) behind close doors. So one day we decided to find out what they were doing that warrants the loud noise, so we decided to go on a peeping spree. One of those days we were so engrossed with the action going on that we didn't know when the guy noticed we were there, sneaked out and came to the window we were and gave us a hardddd knock on the head grin. It was so painful, we cried but couldn't tell our parents why we were given the knock.

What else do I remember? Will be back when I remember more.

FashionRe: Yvonne Nelson On The Cover Of Pride Magazine Uk’s New Issue by vivianc(f): 7:45pm On Mar 11, 2013
I think some people should just shut up! Ah ah, why person no go hear for una? Must u judge everything? This lady is a model for crying out loud! She didn't wear those on the streets. Its just a photo shot which she was paid for to appear on a front cover of a magazine. Every model including Oluchi, Naomi, Agbani have all done shots like this or even worse!

And what's with the 'role model' thingy? Are people that myopic? We all (or some) watch fashion TV everyday, does that mean we go about copying them?

Abeg make una rest joor, mehn this is becoming too much! Don't let ur being in a hurry to judge other people (when ur own lives are not better) take away ur common sense. I honestly think a lot of people here need a re-orientation biko.

I'm not her fan, I'm indifferent about the pics cos its not my thing, but that doesn't take away my common sense!

EducationRe: 3rd Class Degree, Or No Degree At All: Which Is Better? by vivianc(f): 9:00am On Mar 10, 2013
2scorehigh: Wow, what am I seeing?

It's like so many Nairaland graduates have a 3rd class, huh?

Look at the way they are expressing their views with that terrible but defeatist mentality that "half bread is better than none."

Ha ha ha. No wonder some people write rubbish here...

Seun, I hope you are not one of them, right?

I for say.
Nah, a lot of them graduated with 2.1, 2.2 and 1st class. They are just being unbiased for the sake of argument.
EducationRe: 3rd Class Degree, Or No Degree At All: Which Is Better? by vivianc(f): 11:52pm On Mar 09, 2013
Serendipity: Can it then be said that third class degree holders could have passed?
Maybe............

Pls don't drag me into an argument, I know too much and I wouldn't like to reveal.

Thank you.

EducationRe: 3rd Class Degree, Or No Degree At All: Which Is Better? by vivianc(f): 10:55pm On Mar 09, 2013
Biafra rep: Nigerian degree has been thrown to the dogs, a lot of Nigerians end up with 3rd class not because they are unintelligent but because of the system that has been bastardized. HOD's and course advisers would hoard results and manipulate the outcome at the end to favour those that were able to pay in cash or kind. Nigerian results are no longer a criteria in measuring intelligence, aptitude test has shown that some 3rd class graduates are better than 1st class! *justsayingthough*
Exactly, I still remember NNPC test a couple of years ago, they invited only 1st class and 2.1 but it was publicised in the national dailies that a huge percentage of them could not pass, it was even discussed on several talk shows.

Whether na 1.1 or pass, just make sure u can defend it even with ur eyes closed.

And yes 3rd class is better than no degree at all.
EducationRe: 3rd Class Degree, Or No Degree At All: Which Is Better? by vivianc(f): 7:54pm On Mar 09, 2013
pro01: Seems you have already resigned to your 'fate'; you shouldn't, since you're lucky enough to be in a position where you can still do something about it. If 2.2 is what is left to strive for, then you must make that happen at all costs, just to be on the safe side.

To be clear, there are lots of brilliant Third Class and Pass graduates out there. Some made those grades due to misfortune, some due to circumstances, others due to sheer unseriousness. It doesn't define who a person it. It's just that, in an environment (labour market) that is highly competitive, one puts himself or herself at a serious disadvantage by graduating with anything less than 2.2 in today's Nigeria where hundreds of private schools are minting thousands of 'ajebo' 2.1/2.2 graduates with connections to boot. How can one compete without the basic 2.2 as an entry level job hopeful? Not everyone would be as lucky as the 'examples' freely vaunted on this thread. It's hard enough to win a lottery; not having a ticket at all makes it all but impossible.
Yea, I can still make 2.1 if I can make As in all my remaining courses, I'm gonna strive as hard as possible cos I don't wanna be in anything below 3.30 (by God's grace). I have also planned on chattering immediately I graduate before I go for my M.sc. All I ask for now is grace from Him cos I can't do this all by myself.
