pro01: There are countless cases like that, and I guess this anomalous situation is what emboldens Third Class graduates in this country. The born again Lady does not have a job yet, in spite of her brilliance, simply because she has no connections and worst of all is born-again and principled (which means she cannot 'play ball'). On the other hand, the 'wakabout' babe got her job through the backdoor. For guys, 'backdoor' only means connections and bribes; for girls, backdoor includes you-know-what.

We should not use these unfair examples to justify mediocrity and rub it in the face of those that actually deserve more but get less because of the rot in all spheres of Nigeria. No wonder the country remains backward. Too much ojoro and wuruwuru in everything.

Its a two way thing. Look at it from the other angle, you can be good, yet bad thing happens to u anyway. It shouldn't be ur fault, u shouldn't be killed or mocked for it. You can be intelligent and still come out with a third class and vice versa. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't strive for excellence. Sometimes life is enigmatic!

Right now it doesn't matter what my grade says but what I have in me. Even if I fail, I'm gonna try again and I'm gonna work harder. Sometimes when u are done working hard and nothing happens, u work harder.

2great: Yep! I'm a 3rd class grad8.I got a job 2mths afta NYSC in a popular PLC company headquaterd in Lagos 2 head a major dept. I amaze people wt my perfomance dt noone wld ever believ my grade or dt m a fresh grad self.Anyway,God&my interview per4mance gt me d job. My 2:1,2:2 friends still submit dia CV to me for job assistance.Ur person supersedes certfcate in interview n on d job too.
Though,I wld advice anyone in sch to try get a gud grade by all means.My family wanted me to apply to study abroad now but I'm kinda scared if I can ever get anytin done so iv bin delaying. I have not graduated yet, only God knows my fate. But I have a cousin who graduated from U1 3yrs ago, with 2.1 o, and she is even born again. Sometimes I wish I could be as half as principled as her. This babe don waka Lagos tire, she don write test tire; Chevron, Banks, SPDC, NNPC, MTN but nothing yet. Our other cousin that graduated same year as her, same course, that one sef no siddon read book o but she is with an oil servicing firm in Phc. Life eh? Only God knows......

pro01: Lecturers prey on vulnerable girls in virtually all public schools in Nigeria. By 'vulnerable', I mean academic vulnerability. However, in many of such schools, lecturers typically avoid girls that are very strong academically. They can't risk failing a girl whose script is 2.1 standard and can stand the strictest scrutiny by independent markers. That's why they settle for the less 'capable' girls, who, thankfully (for the lecturers) are often in the majority, and are often more beautiful and sexually appealing than the brilliant girls anyway. Those ones struggling to make 2.2 are the easiest preys. Randy lecturers hardly disturb academically above average girls. The risks far outweigh the reward.



That is a sweeping declaration, and it probably indicates sour grapes. Then again, it depends on the school in question. I know for sure that most 2.1 and 1st Class graduates in reputable federal schools such as UI, OAU, UNN, UNILORIN, etc. earned it, while only a few forced their way in with help. I can't say the same for your school (and many other private and state-owned institutions).



If you're dating the sort of man that can "deal with" someone (I assume the 'street' way), then I guess you're not so squeaky clean as to evade the lecturer's advances at the cost of a good degree. In any case, bringing your man into the situation is a sure way of not graduating at all. Thank goodness you knew better.

First of all, if u thought I'm academically vulnerable, then you thought wrong! I don't claim to be anything but I know what I can do.
He is not the only lecturer that has asked me out that I turned down as politely as possible. I don't dress indecently to school especially, I guess the only crime I commit is being regular to class and being on the front row desk, asking questions when I don't understand, that all. And none of them has ever failed me! But some lecturers are just too stubborn, some faculties are more deadly than others so get your facts right, ok. On my own I can write to the school authority and have my scripts re-marked but you have no idea the kinda politics that go on in my school.
In fact, my former Dean of Faculty who is a professor now, a man I respect so much, he was surprised to see me in a carry over class, he asked me what happened but I couldn't bring myself to tell him, I don't want it to be seen as reporting the lecturer and I don't wanna raise unnecessary dust.
And I'm not saying that I'm clean, but a lot of people can get dirty *just an expression* when u infringe on them and my man is that type of man, but I'm not, I just let things go. On my own I can get him whisked away and given the beating of his life, I can do it but I won't. I'm not a street girl, and will never date one ok?

As for my man knowing? He knows by default, I don't hide things from him and he wanted to come in cos he hates to see me in pains.

I remember few years back, some lecturer in FUTO tried this with my boss's daughter, but when he learned the daughter of whom he was messing with, he picked race.

My dear, I wish I can say the same o for me o. I never greased any lecturer's palm from 100L to 300L. So my 100L and 200L results gave me a CGPA of 2.2, have only seen one of my 300L courses result. But this 400L I'm gonna sort, in fact I just did for the first time few days ago, parted with my 10k, it was so painful! We have a lot of thieves taking us this time around and I can't afford a spill over, my school fees is 105k, then when I factor in the textbooks which are compulsory and my transport to school everyday, its not what I can risk doing. Passing through these normal sessions has been challenging for me let alone a spill over. So the ones that make sorting compulsory, I will give them and rest jare. They publish failure list first before out results sef. Ndi chineke ga akpo oku very soon!

You won't believe few of my course mates advised me to get down with this man, he is young anyway but how can I get down with a man that has no shame? No iota of integrity? He is known as a chronic womaniser in school and I REFUSE to be one of his fun tools, rubbish! He can fail me all he wants, and I'm not the only person he has victimised o. But I'd rather do a dog *God forbid* than let his filthy hands touch me!

Burger01: Some graduates ended up with 3rd class due to no faults of theirs but share wickedness on the part of jealous lecturers and wicked ones alike. A female friend of mine back in the uni got 3rd class as a result of one unrepentant HOD this poor lady refused to get down with...even with pleas from family members and friends the hod refused... I mean, could you imagine a lecturer wanting to tidy a pregnant final year student? Nigeria..smh.. Still 3rd class is better than no 'Class' at all...

I'm suffering the same thing but thank God the lecturer is not in my department. The lecturer took us on 3 faculty courses and he failed/gave me E in all his courses. Well, that's the worse he could do cos I can easily wave some of his courses. So his mission is to bring down my CGPA and he is succeeding. Saw one of his courses I wrote as carry-over last week, he gave me an E too, I cried bitterly and almost dropped out of school but my friends encouraged me. All the people that copied from me had As and Cs cos I studied that course and wrote it very well. I have left him for God to judge him. I have also calculated my CGPA, it falls within 2.2.

While few people earned their 2.2s, 2.1s, and 1st class, majority did not earn it. There are factors responsible for the grades. If you come to my class, the intelligent poor ones' CGPA are low, the dumb rich ones' CGPA are high cos they sort. The least sorting in my school is 8k btw, so u can imagine! We only have a breath of fresh air when we meet professors and men of integrity who make it crystal clear that they don't collect money and will give u exactly what u earn, the mere mention of it will get ur expelled sef, but how many are they? Just few!

My man wants to deal with that lecturer anyway, I trust him, I know what he can do but I don't want problems so I begged him to leave the man. He only brought down my CGPA, not my life and as sure as hell not my destiny.

Nothing guarantees anything, but we make our decisions based on how we understand life, now that's something I want u to grab.

A few of my friends are virgins and my advice for them is always this; "se..x is for the mature minds, it comes with a lot of emotional waves, if u are not ready to deal with those emotions, then don't have se...x." If doing it after marriage makes u feel secure, I don't see a problem in that, its ur decision.

Value a man becos he has hadn't before? I don't think women are interested in a guy's virginity. That's why u see a virgin lady giving it up for a non virgin guy. This has to do with men's ego, sometimes it doesn't necessarily mean it is love or they are in love with u becos u are a virgin. The fact that u haven't had se.x before or after being with them builds up their ego. This is the same reason most ex bfs won't be happy seeing u with another man even when they have moved on themselves. It doesn't mean they want u back, its the same ego. Ok, let's do this, let me tell u 3 real life stories that happened around me. Btw, I wasn't talking about pregnancy cos that no one has control over.

The first story goes like this; a lady I know very got born again and started going to church, met a brother in the church, the 'holy spirit' directed them to get married. As the church doctrine, se..x wasn't allowed neither was visiting the guy alone as the guy had a post in the church bla bla bla...... Fast forward, after much prayers they got married. But something happened on the wedding night, it turned out the this guy's joystick was extremely big that the lady cried all through the love making, according to her. The next day, she ran back to her pastor who counselled her to endure, that sex wasn't that important in marriage. But deep down in her, she knew that there was chance in hell that she would live and endure such pains for the rest of her life. She went home, talked to the parent and filed for a divorce. Just after one night!

The second story goes like this; a guy married a girl, yea the same no sex rule was applied bla bla bla...... Fast forward to the wedding night, he found out that he couldn't make love to his wife without a tissue because of the excessive fluid that oozes out of this lady's body. They are still married anyway but the man cheats and the woman is aware that her husband cheats. You can imagine the emotional punishment.

The third story goes like this; the couple were very normal but they didn't connect sexually. Se.x for them became a chore. The guy was my colleague in the office, so one day he opened up to me, I felt so sorry for him. He felt stuck in the marriage as he couldn't cheat like other men do,,,,,, this crack started affecting the foundation of their marriage. A lot of issues started coming up and today they are no more a couple.

I have always wanted the 'fairy tale' kinda proposal so when he first proposed over the phone I didn't give him any answer. I told him he knew the 'right' thing to do.

He was coming over for the weekend, he bought a ring which was very beautiful btw, but the way he was checking out my fingers gave him out; I knew he had a ring. So that evening we went to see some couple who are my friends and they started teasing me on how they would train me into a catholic wife (I'm a winner).
