Now that Henrico have adjusted/increase their bills it's something else going to maryland. In 2015 staying on the hospital for juat a night has a way of reducing bills some mamas tried it using PG hospital and the bills came down. Pls who has tried the one night stay of recent in any hospital in maryland and what was the bill like?
Thanks

You are under the care of doctors, they have to discharge you and your baby, both have to be healthy enough to be discharged.
You should (at least) have the solvency for the recommended health care and enough should your health dictate that you require a CS. Decisions on the health of you and your baby should not be based on a watered down budget.

Hello dear! I'm currently in virginia. Using henrico Dr's hospital in richmond. Epidural was quoted 1450. Incase you are unaware they have increased their hospital bill to 4200 and 1k for baby a total of 5200. That's the new price. But if u got the old quote from the hospital and you have it printed out, they will honour the old price.

This was confirmed today by a patient that re-routed to El Paso. She mentioned she was never given exact prices with pediatrics and did not want to risk needing the epidural.

Hello House,

I have been a ghost reader for a while. My wife and I will be in El Paso next week and we'd like to know if there's anyone who can/ who knows anyone that is willing to rent out one room for a duration of 3 months. She'd be using Doctores Para Ti and a property within that radius will be appreciated. Kindly send a Private message if you can help.

Thank you.

Not really. Many banks no longer open accounts on a visiting visa. They have to report this to the government periodically.

Bank accounts can be open without any problems in El Paso. All patients are given the information on how to do this and it is done legally.

Yes this is correct.

Spoke to the financial counsellor and she said prices have not changed but I saw a documentation that said it's now $5000 for hospital. Me I dan port. Houston Methodist no be by force.

I'm wary of paying early. I will continue scouting to see what gives.

Maternity packages prices NOT changing in 2017 for El Paso and have remained consistent for over 20 years. This is due to the border to Mexico and the international patient programs.

Na wa. It is well o. I just called the hospital and they pulled up my details on their system and confirmed I don't owe them. I asked for a covering letter saying I'm not indebted to them. The lady I spoke with said she will send me two documents(which is what they have sent previously to people who called with this issue) but can only send by mail to the address on my account as the system does not allow to send emails. I pray one is the letter I need.

Doctoresparati rep on nairaland, please check your email and respond to my request. I will appreciate your help in getting the cover letter from Del Sol. Thank you.

An email was sent to yourself and Del Sol with the information you provided regarding your situation. You should receive a answer by Monday.

Hi, I'm a preggy and I'll be using Doctores to give birth in Feb. When is ur wife going to be at El paso, would love to connect with her and other El Paso Dec/Jan/Feb bound moms. Planing to stay at intown suites, but it's seems extended stay America is cheaper at $944 per month if one stays for 2 months according to Doctores.

Flying Turkish airways. Pls anyone with useful advice or experience flying this airline?

Congrats to all the new moms.

Chase Suites is the best option at this time. The rooms are at least 3 times bigger that includes a living area, full kitchen, bedroom, free transportation (3 mile radius) cooking utensils, and free breakfast and dinner from Monday to Thursday. Ask for Doctoresparati rate and confirm by showing your enrollment slip upon arrival to get discount as well as taxes waved after first month.

Contrary to reports here about doctores not accepting international patients, they still are. (we are using them). Also took their doctor's correspondence to the visa interview and there was no issue, thou we had prepaid all medical bills.

There has never been any discontinuation of accepting international patients. Doctoresparati in El Paso is not mentioned since most people come here looking for answers. Doctoresparati packages are straight forward and there are usually no questions since Denise provides help to patients upon arrival. There are always patients from Nigeria in El Paso.

Good day house. Please I have plans of traveling in Feb. planning on using Doctoresparati in El Paso. Have read on this trend that people have being denied medical Visa sake for reservations for this doctor... Please can anyone share reason why? Make I change hospital sharp sharp. Plus i intend applying alone is there any risk of not applying with hubby. Thanks and God bless

This is not true. The documentation provided by the doctor is as required by the US Embassy. Although the petitioner may still be rejected, it would not be because of the medical documentation.

"Question: do they accept letter of consent notarised by a notary public in El Paso or does it have to be the one from the embassy here in Nigeria?

Nope, it is not accepted. It has to be the one from the embassy here in Nigeria. Basically, as soon as baby is born, get hubby to book a date for notary and not visa interview. Then he can FedEx it to you. Should get to you a week, or there about. Hopefully, it gets to you about the time your bc comes out too, so you can further your documentation processing."

This is incorrect. As mentioned, it must be taken to the passport agency before the father leaves so they have it on file. Most people do not take it to the passport agency before they leave so they are advised that they must go to the Nigerian Embassy. Both ways are possible.

If the father is in El Paso, the letter of consent can be notarized by any public notary in El Paso, TX, but it must be taken to the passport agency before the father leaves so it is on file. If the father is not in El Paso, it can be done at the embassy in Nigeria.

Thanks for your reply. I've tried using my master card before but PayPal is saying I can't select card(going through firstbank online platform). Used dormiciliary account for the transaction that was cancelled.

You need the doctors letter for the visa. You can also pay by bank wire (form A) and credit card over the phone.

I had this same reasoning that it starts to count when baby arrive from what I was told but I was wrong cos I got to the hospital at 9pm ish when contractions was serz but gave birth the next day, I was surprised when I saw bill for extra day and they said 9pm-12am was one day "I was mad" bill of 1k + for just 3 hrs later paid $500 after plenty talk. So please first time mama's always ask oh don't assume!!!

Please speak only for Del Sol, as I see you are their marketer. For many other hospitals, the 48hours start counting from the moment the baby is born.
Actually, mine started counting from when I was moved to the recovery room.
ijeomaobi1:
@ favoredgirl,

48 hours starts counting the minute you check in and by 12 midnight that day, the first 24 hours has gone. That's why people complain of being overcharged by hospital.

U are not correct. It depends on state and hospital. For my last baby. I gave birth by 2am on Tuesday and left hospital by 1 pm Wednesday and was billed for one night

All hospitals bill for their services. What may have happened is you arrived a few hours before 12a on Monday a perhaps you got a free day since some hospitals will do this given they dont want to bill 24 hours for only a few. I do not recommend telling mothers to expect that when you are using the hospitals resources, patients may go to the hospitals expecting the free service you are assuring them without receiving it.

Maybe it was an emergency c section
Don't worry the 48 hours starts counting after birth

Hope the baby is here now? Hugs and kisses

This is false. The 48 hours starts counting when the patient is admitted, not when the patient gives birth. It is the same in every hospital in the USA. If it were not the case you would not be billed for false labour. Once you have a room you are using the hospitals resources and as such the hospital bills for this. Unfortunately, hospital services are not free.

I used Doctores Pa ra ti, and Del Sol hopital in 2014 to have my son, but ive been hearing funny stories recently about how the doc's letter has been rejected by the US Embassy here, and how Some Nigerians have misbehaved there and all, and so, Dr Monticone and Dr Martell no longer accepts Nigerian International Patients. And if this is so, i was surprised to see the Doctores Ad on this page. Anyhow, I am open to using any other Doctor or even hospital, shebi na to born healthy pickin?? lol. But Since its been a while since i came here, i was hoping someone would pls give an up-to-date info on the reality on ground. As i would love to go to El-paso sometimes in January 2017. God bless you all.

Thanks in advance.

The previous letters sent from 1993 to 2014 are no longer sent because the Embassy now requires a letter from the doctor. A new personalized letter from the doctor is being sent starting in 2015 up to today.

Both the doctors you mention usually do not accept new patients because some Nigerian patients did not want to follow what the doctors are required to do under US Standard of Care and they did not want to be liable or risk their license. The doctors you mentioned are not the only doctors at Doctores Para Ti in El Paso so International patients are still accepted. There are also new and better accommodations available at El Paso and transfers from form A are accepted.

Hello good people, I'm new here and have been doing my best to gather info.
This would be my first time travelling to the US and am trying to gather burden of proof for my VISA application. I have contacted Doctores sparati and I want to check if anyone has any issues or challenges using them before I proceed to enroll with them. I will be due in January and
I am also on the look out for other hospitals in Texas which offer the same kind of budget because of the current FX wahala.
Is there any reason why references to Doctores sparati is so little? Are pple not using them anymore and why? Any advice you can give me will help.

Not mentioned because all the information has already been covered and because everything is already set up when you arrive and you will not have to come here to ask questions. El Paso, being border with Mexico has always offered the most specialized birth packages for Mexican patients and Doctoresparati has provided services for Nigerians since the beginning of this thread and before. There are ALWAYS many Nigerians at El Paso once you arrive, they dont post because all of their issues (Emergency Travel Certificates, Bank Wires, Passports, Visa, etc.) are addressed by staff, not just the medical process and most people come here to ask questions regarding issues they have.

Lemme not be the spoiler, but do mothers still go that far to El-paso anymore.
or u have any specific reasons for wanting to go there?
if you say cheap, i wonder how much you have in mind. if you give an estimated budget here of what u want to spend on medical and housing, am sure some mothers here can help you find a reasonable hospital and/or accommodation. Some ppl can share a 2 bedroom and u split the bill equally.

I'm going to NY and I've called to book an appointment, but the date available is too far for me, I don't think they accept walk in, do you know?

Most places in the US do not accept "walk ins". Do yourself a favor and confirm your appointment (BEFORE YOUR TRIP) for the day after you arrive so that your doctor can evaluate your pregnancy after your long trip. You are putting your health is unnecessary risk by not having an appointment upon arrival. Call another doctor and another until you get an appointment. Should you arrive with no appointment and you begin labour or have an emergency before you a doctor sees you, you will be taken to the hospital and your bill will be VERY different from the prices mentioned in this forum because (1) you do not have a doctor (2) you probably dont have a hospital either since each doctor has privileges at specific hospitals and if you dont have a doctor, it means you also dont know where your child will be born. If a hospital package is not paid before you have your baby and are admitted by emergency it is VERY unlikely that you will get the price package for self paying patients.

Thank you @firsttymum.

So the bills he sent me are sufficient for my embassy interview.

Please also does paying deposit on Dr's fee increase chances of being given visa?

Its not that simple. It can help or it can also be irrelevant. If the VO was going to deny your VISA because he/she thought you did not have the economic solvency to pay your medical bill, having your services prepaid can certainly help. On the other side, if you prepaid but cannot prove strong ties to your country, you lie on your application, or any requirement OTHER than the medical reason you are going for, the VO can/will deny your Visa REGARDLESS of your prepayment.

Many people have used form A to make payment at Doctores Para Ti. Best bet is to use a different bank since Form A has always been accepted in El Paso.

Get proper medical documentation. A letter from your doctor is best, flyers and emails prove nothing and can be rejected.
