Suwaje: You are under the care of doctors, they have to discharge you and your baby, both have to be healthy enough to be discharged. You should (at least) have the solvency for the recommended health care and enough should your health dictate that you require a CS. Decisions on the health of you and your baby should not be based on a watered down budget. 12 Likes |

oluwainfin: There has never been any discontinuation of accepting international patients. Doctoresparati in El Paso is not mentioned since most people come here looking for answers. Doctoresparati packages are straight forward and there are usually no questions since Denise provides help to patients upon arrival. There are always patients from Nigeria in El Paso. 3 Likes 1 Share |

MsJanez01: This is not true. The documentation provided by the doctor is as required by the US Embassy. Although the petitioner may still be rejected, it would not be because of the medical documentation. 1 Like 1 Share |

"Question: do they accept letter of consent notarised by a notary public in El Paso or does it have to be the one from the embassy here in Nigeria? Nope, it is not accepted. It has to be the one from the embassy here in Nigeria. Basically, as soon as baby is born, get hubby to book a date for notary and not visa interview. Then he can FedEx it to you. Should get to you a week, or there about. Hopefully, it gets to you about the time your bc comes out too, so you can further your documentation processing." This is incorrect. As mentioned, it must be taken to the passport agency before the father leaves so they have it on file. Most people do not take it to the passport agency before they leave so they are advised that they must go to the Nigerian Embassy. Both ways are possible. |

happytbaby: If the father is in El Paso, the letter of consent can be notarized by any public notary in El Paso, TX, but it must be taken to the passport agency before the father leaves so it is on file. If the father is not in El Paso, it can be done at the embassy in Nigeria. |

chikos: All hospitals bill for their services. What may have happened is you arrived a few hours before 12a on Monday a perhaps you got a free day since some hospitals will do this given they dont want to bill 24 hours for only a few. I do not recommend telling mothers to expect that when you are using the hospitals resources, patients may go to the hospitals expecting the free service you are assuring them without receiving it. 1 Like |

favoredgal: This is false. The 48 hours starts counting when the patient is admitted, not when the patient gives birth. It is the same in every hospital in the USA. If it were not the case you would not be billed for false labour. Once you have a room you are using the hospitals resources and as such the hospital bills for this. Unfortunately, hospital services are not free. 2 Likes |

igetam: The previous letters sent from 1993 to 2014 are no longer sent because the Embassy now requires a letter from the doctor. A new personalized letter from the doctor is being sent starting in 2015 up to today. Both the doctors you mention usually do not accept new patients because some Nigerian patients did not want to follow what the doctors are required to do under US Standard of Care and they did not want to be liable or risk their license. The doctors you mentioned are not the only doctors at Doctores Para Ti in El Paso so International patients are still accepted. There are also new and better accommodations available at El Paso and transfers from form A are accepted. 8 Likes |

confra: Not mentioned because all the information has already been covered and because everything is already set up when you arrive and you will not have to come here to ask questions. El Paso, being border with Mexico has always offered the most specialized birth packages for Mexican patients and Doctoresparati has provided services for Nigerians since the beginning of this thread and before. There are ALWAYS many Nigerians at El Paso once you arrive, they dont post because all of their issues (Emergency Travel Certificates, Bank Wires, Passports, Visa, etc.) are addressed by staff, not just the medical process and most people come here to ask questions regarding issues they have. 2 Likes |

jacksparow: El Paso, offers a lot of additional value added details that make you same money. All the info is on the website but the additional help you get with transportation, ETC, SIM cards, items you can rent while there for your baby so you dont have to buy and then ship back home, Denise available by phone anytime and staff by email, accepts FORM A, response time, etc. Is while there is always people at El Paso when you arrive. Being on the border to Mexico helped the services get specialized for international patients. 7 Likes |

MommaT: Most places in the US do not accept "walk ins". Do yourself a favor and confirm your appointment (BEFORE YOUR TRIP) for the day after you arrive so that your doctor can evaluate your pregnancy after your long trip. You are putting your health is unnecessary risk by not having an appointment upon arrival. Call another doctor and another until you get an appointment. Should you arrive with no appointment and you begin labour or have an emergency before you a doctor sees you, you will be taken to the hospital and your bill will be VERY different from the prices mentioned in this forum because (1) you do not have a doctor (2) you probably dont have a hospital either since each doctor has privileges at specific hospitals and if you dont have a doctor, it means you also dont know where your child will be born. If a hospital package is not paid before you have your baby and are admitted by emergency it is VERY unlikely that you will get the price package for self paying patients. |

chimafranks: Its not that simple. It can help or it can also be irrelevant. If the VO was going to deny your VISA because he/she thought you did not have the economic solvency to pay your medical bill, having your services prepaid can certainly help. On the other side, if you prepaid but cannot prove strong ties to your country, you lie on your application, or any requirement OTHER than the medical reason you are going for, the VO can/will deny your Visa REGARDLESS of your prepayment. 1 Like |
