The Roman Catholic Church is not the only true church.

They are THE CHURCH.

All others are simply her wayward and dysfunctional children.

They wrote the program.
They direct the program.
Only they know the program codes.

Look at the bold. They're different. The word used in Sirach18:17 is kecharitomeno; the one used in Luke1:28 is kecharitomene.

Insulting me and Catholicism will not for them to be the same word.

Kecharitomene has only been used to address the Blessed Virgin Mary!
What is the difference between Sirach (kecharitomeno) and Luke ( kecharitomene)?
Christianity EtcRe: Outside The [Catholic] Church There Is No Salvation!!!! by vooks(op): 2:39pm On Jan 12, 2016
Why does Roman Catholicism imagine itself to the the only true church?

1. They believe they have all the sacraments(baptism,Eucharist and confession to a priest)
2. They believe they have the 'sacred tradition'
3. They believe they have a leader, a pope who unifies people, and is a product of apostolic succession
4. They believe Catholicism has the 'four marks of a true church' and therefore it possesses 'fullness of the truth'

Next, we will examine each of these claims separately
Christianity EtcRe: Outside The [Catholic] Church There Is No Salvation!!!! by vooks(op):
But there is exception to the rule that salvation lies only with the Catholic Church;

Catechism of Catholic Church (CCC) #847
847 This affirmation is not aimed at those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ and his Church:

Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience - those too may achieve eternal salvation.
This makes sense and is supported by scriptures;

Acts 17:26-27 (KJV)
And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; 27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

Romans 1:18-20 (KJV)
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

There are some people who have not and who will never hear about Christ all their life. How can they be condemned over their ignorance.

But please note, this is the exception in Catholicism to the rule that salvation is found only among Catholics. The non-Catholics are still lost
Christianity EtcRe: Outside The [Catholic] Church There Is No Salvation!!!! by vooks(op): 2:07pm On Jan 12, 2016
If Catholics mean the biblical definition when they apply the term in their phrase, we have a problem.

It's like saying there are no Muslims outside Islam, or there are no Christians outside Christianity. This is self-evident so it is meaningless.

Do Catholics mean all true believers regardless of the denomination? You guessed right, they don't; they mean the Roman Catholic Church headed by the Pope. So they are saying non-Catholics regardless of their beliefs are damned. Salvation is only found in the 'one true church' and that is Catholicism. If you are not a Catholic, you are damned.

Is this farfetched? Let's consult their literature;

"One indeed is the universal Church of the faithful, outside which no one at all is saved......" ~~~Pope Innocent III, Lateran Council, 1215AD

"Furthermore, we declare, we proclaim, we define that it is absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff [the pope].” ~~~Pope Boniface VIII,Unam Sanctam,1308AD

"It firmly believes, professes, and proclaims that those not living within the Catholic Church, not only pagans, but also Jews and heretics and schismatics cannot become participants in eternal life, but will depart ‘into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels’ (Matt. 25:41), unless before the end of life the same have been added to the flock… ” ~~~Pope Eugene IV, Cantate Domino, 1441

"Basing itself on Scripture and Tradition, the Council [Vatican II] teaches that the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation…” ~~~~Catechism of the Catholic Church, #846

In short, one needs Roman Catholicism membership to get to heaven. Of course it will be noted that the Catechism uses somewhat softer language but nonetheless maintains RCC is NECESSARY for salvation. This is not mean that all Catholics are saved but rather only faithful Catholics can be or are saved.
Christianity EtcOutside The [Catholic] Church There Is No Salvation!!!! by vooks(op):
This is the meaning of this Latin phrase ever so beloved by Catholics; extra ecclesiam nulla salus

The word 'church' simply means 'the called out', the saints and believers

Acts 2:47 (KJV)
Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Ephesians 5:23 (KJV)
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

Colossians 1:17-18 (KJV)
And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

The term church sometimes refer to a local assembly of believers;
1 Corinthians 1:2 (KJV)
Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:

This is the biblical definition of the word 'church'

Ephesians 1:6 negro.

All I have required from Satanists here and in the other thread is;
1. Proof of perpetual virginity if Mary
2. Sinlessness of Mary
dmandy, Syncan and all other hooligans failed. I mentioned you not because I expected an answer but because I wanted you to witness Satanists' wits.

And ponder on why God sent his angel to address Mary with a term never before used (and never again to be used) on any other individual.
There are dozens of terms used singly in the scriptures. This adds no mystery to their usage except where the mystery is hallucinated in your mind.

If the term 'never' been used before how do you know it's meaning?

Is it true the word had never been used?

Sirach 18:17
Lo, is not a word better than a gift? but both are with a gracious [κεχαριτωμένῳ] man”

Before you flap gums first appreciate that Catholicism Satanism is madly in love with the book
The word was quite common well before Mary was born.

Besides, how does being highly favored, a term used when she was a woman mean she was favored at birth as Catholics Satanists insinuate, and which in turn mean she was immaculately conceived?
Secondly, copying and pasting words I agree with is neither bad nor a sin. That's why you copy and paste from the Bible all the time.
It's no sin but it is a clear demonstration of brainwashing and frozen cranium

Do you think it was important for Jesus to be born of a virgin? If yes then why?

Cc vooks, KingEbukaNaija, pastoroluT, olagbaju, ayoku777, Syncan, Ubenedictus, italo, PastorAIO, anas09
The interest Mary's virginity is given in the gospels without a doubt makes it clear that it was important. And if it was important, then my thoughts about the importance are secondary. In fact belittling an important aspect of the Christian Faith is antiChrist.

WHY is not an easy question because not everything God does is explained to man and not everything that is explained comprehended by man. There are one too many WHYs one can dig, for instance, WHY did Jesus die for three days? Why not longer or a shorter period? Why was his public ministry ~3.5 yrs? Why was he born in Bethlehem? and so forth.

With that let me try and explain why I think it was important.
1. It was prophesied that He would be born of a virgin in Isaiah 9
The prophecy had to be fulfilled. . When God decrees something and hastens to perform it, we can rightfully conclude it as important.

2. The virgin birth was a miracle, and this among others vindicated the Messiah
With the benefit of hindsight we may ponder what would have been outstanding about Jesus had he been another offspring.

3.The miracle also draws away our attention from his humanity and onto his divinity.
The messiah was certainly more than on offspring of David. Strictly speaking, it took more than the Jews to bring Messiah into the world.

These are my observations, and I must insist that explaining the import of the virgin birth does not add or diminish its importance
Christianity EtcRe: Do You Think It Was Important For Jesus To Be Born Of A Virgin? If Yes Then Why? by vooks: 7:18am On Jan 12, 2016
italo:
I believe God wanted the New Ark of the Covenant (which would carry his word in flesh) to be pure, spotless and untouchable...just like (in fact, even purer) than the old Ark of the Covenant (which carried his word on stone).

Now, if Mary was physically a virgin, but spiritually soiled with sin, of what use would her physical virginity be? We all know God looks not upon physical appearance, but upon the heart (as he said when he chose David).

To understand more of the nature of Mary, consider what Angel Gabriel said to her when he appeared: "Chaire, kecharitomene" (in Greek).

“chaire” - Means "hail” or “rejoice”

"charis" – Means “grace”

"charitoo" – Greek verb ending in omicron omega (“oo”) means to put the person or thing into the state indicated by the root. The root being "charis" or “grace,” "charitoo" means “to put into a state of "grace.”

"ke" – Greek perfect tense prefix indicates a perfected, completed present state as a result of past action. Thus, a perfected, completed present state of "charis," or “grace,” as a result of past action.

"mene" – Greek passive participle suffix indicates action performed on subject by another. Thus, a perfected, completed present state of "charis," or “grace,” as a result of the past action of another. As the speaker is the angel Gabriel, the "other" is God.

Therefore, "chaire kecharitomene" means: “Hail, who has been perfectly and completely graced by God.” The common Catholic rendering, "full of grace," while good, may actually fall short!
The only thing worse than satanism is amateur copy+paste theology.
You do realize the same words used of Mary are used of the body of Christ in Ephesians 1:6?

The greatest ever quotes about Lionel Messi

By Eurosport

Lionel Messi defies description - but that doesn't mean people haven't tried to put his talent into words. Here's our pick of the most profound, wittiest and most eloquent pieces of wisdom about one of the undisputed greats of football history:

"I have never seen anyone like Leo Messi. He is a miracle from God! I like it when he does his things on the field. It's not jealousy - I feel good, for instance, when he nutmegs someone." - Arda Turan

"Once they said they can only stop me with a pistol. Today you need a machine gun to stop Messi." - Hristo Stoichkov

"Messi is the Mozart of football." - Radomir Antic

"It is clear that Messi is on a level above all others. Those who do not see that are blind." - Xavi

"For me, to watch Messi play is a pleasure – it’s like having an orgasm – it’s an incredible pleasure." - Luis Figo

"This Barca will be remembered as Messi’s Barca. He’s well above anything else I’ve ever seen. He’s an alien." - Messi's former team-mate Carles Puyol

"Messi is the best in the world without any doubt and for me the history of football." Luis Enrique

"Messi is God, as a person and even more as a player. I knew him when he was a boy and I’ve watched him grow. He deserves it all." - Samuel Eto'o

"Although he may not be human, it’s good that Messi still thinks he is." - Javier Mascherano

"They tell me that all men are equal in God’s eyes, this player makes you seriously think about those words." - Football commentator Ray Hudson

"Newton and Einstein had a certain level of autism - I hope that, like them, Messi surpasses himself every day and continues to give us his
beautiful brand of football." - Romario

"Life with Leo is prettier, of another colour." - Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu

"There are three or four important things in life: books, friends, women… and Messi." - Portuguese writer Antonio Lobo Antunes

"Barca will never have a player like Messi again. Messi’s greatness is present on and off the field of play." - ex-Barcelona president Sandro Rosell

"Seeing Messi play is like watching a video game… What Messi does on a football field is simply unthinkable… The way he walks from side to side, and once he sees an opportunity, he simply creates magic." - tennis superstar Victoria Azarenka

"He is an anomaly. The rest will have to wait until he falls off a little bit.” - Dutch legend Edgar Davids

"At this point I’m starting to believe that Messi is tightly related to Clark Kent." - Israeli model Bar Rafaeli

"Messi is class. There is him, and then there is the rest. What he does is extraordinary." - Franck Ribery

"We give him the ball and stand back and watch. People often say to me they saw Pele and Maradona play. In the future, I will be able to say I saw Messi play." - Thiago Alcantara

"He is always going forwards. He never passes the ball backwards or sideways. He has only one idea, to run towards the goal. So as a football fan, just enjoy the show." - Zinedine Zidane

"He sees passes that most people can only see whilst watching the game on TV, not ones that you can normally see on the pitch." - ex-Barcelona manager Tata Martino

"He does not really seem human to me." - Luis Enrique

"For the world of football, Messi is a treasure because he is a role model for children around the world… Messi will be the player to win the most Ballons d’Or in history. He will win five, six, seven. He is incomparable. He’s in a different league." - Johan Cruyff

"I have played against Platini, Maradona, Cruyff and played with George Best — a lot of big names, but none of them has been able to do what Messi does. Two years ago I said that the best player I played against was Maradona and the best player I have played with was Bestie. But I can now say I have never seen a player as good as Messi. He’s in a league of his own." - Former Tottenham star Gerry Armstrong

"Diego [Maradona] filled us with emotions. But between the cracks, without doubt, Messi is better than Maradona." - Diego Simeone

"There is no doubt, you’re from another galaxy. Thanks Leo." - Maxi Rodriguez

"Lionel Messi is quite clearly the best player ever. It’s a pleasure to pit myself against him and when I finish my career it’s something I can look back on and know I’ve tested myself against the very best." - John Terry

"In my entire life I have never seen a player of such quality and personality at such a young age, particularly wearing the ‘heavy’ shirt of one of the world’s great clubs... Before a game, you can plan for everything. But Messi can produce a move that no-one expects and change the game in an instant." - Fabio Capello

I'm not talking from what Anas09 said. I'm talking from an old thread which I can't remember how long it was. Oyedepo said it, if or when he dies, his son will take over. That tells me something: Oyedepo is running the assembly as a family owned. The church of Christ is not family owned and that's why you never see or read the Apostles handing over to family members.

In terms of labour, where was Oyedepo's son when Abioye and many others started with him? If you're talking about dedicated and loyalty, I see Abioye having that to some degree otherwise, he might have acted like the Ghanian bishop that took over the ghana HQ. In plain and simple terms, the church of Christ is not family owned and these men should stop handing over to their family members. We do not have such tradition in scripture.
At the very least, let's work with something CONCRETE and not innuendos. Am sure this is not too much to aks.

Muslims blame Paul anytime they want to bash christianity without supporting their bashing with islamic source documents to back-up their accusations, because non existed. If allahh is all-knowing, I expected allahh to have told mohammed something about Paul and to counter Paul's teaching but allahh did not. You guys have a difficult time comprehending things.

So , if I say that there exits a preponderance of evidence for the existence of extraterrestrial life, for you that amounts to blind faith huh

Just look at the words you have mischievously thrown at me in just one post.
UFO, Ufology, Pseudoscience, Faith, Science.
Except for UFO ( which means unidentified flying object undecided), neither I nor others used used the other words in our discussion.
And yes, it was a discussion, NOT a debate.

It annoys me that someone of your intellect( ??) cannot see the difference between discussing possibilities, with the anecdotal evidence available, and expressing blind faith, such as you have in your skydaddy Jesus belief system.
To you half thinkers, everything is about blind belief or not.
You are incapable of analyzing, speculating and rationalizing on very simple anomalies without invoking blind faith.

It is doubly hilarious that someone like you who believes in a talking snake, talking donkey, chariots of fire with rotating wheels, pillars of smoke in the day and pillars of fire in the night, would ask for evidence of UFOs.
Funny indeed.

Let me indulge you.

Now, I am guessing that it is your brainwashed safe-guard mechanism that kicked in your knee-jerk reactions.

Funny that you should ask for a peer review of Dogon mystery, an African myth.

When was the last time you asked for a peer review of christian mythologies, the bedrock of your worldviews ? huh

Silly m.o.Ron. undecided

The OP has a more than passing interest in Dogon religion, he is into UFO conspiracy and obviously buys the bullshiet that aliens taught them some serious irrelevancies such as Sirius B and NOTHING else. This was my concern

My brother, I don't know your stand on this matter but it's not a gossip, I guarantee you. Oyedepo had once said it in the past that when he dies, his son will take over the leadership of the assembly. This is just a copyright of how the American pastors does this same shitt. But, the Apostles doctrine never taught this nonsense.
What guarantee do you have, are you privy to some information Anas09 is not?

Now,
A calling lasts a lifetime in my opinion.if Oyedepo is convinced of the continuity of what he started, he is best placed to appoint his successor. If it were myself, I'd appoint those who have labored with me the closest. If his son has been the closest, then no problem. But I don't have enough information to call his shitt or nonsense.

The apostles simply planted churches without regard to succession

Okay, so i will be nice and answer all the posts before this my post, after that i have not much to say, i have other pressing issues and clients to attend to than to spend so much time on nothing much.
In contrast, I have so much time in my hands and so little to do. I'm idlelatrous cool

i have clearly said that there is nothing wrong with dancing just like there is nothing wrong with sex. And for the records if i have not already said it, i dance and i enjoy dancing.
Cool. Everything else you say past this is utterly irrelevant.

What i speak against is the misuse and abuse of the dance, the introduction and addition of all sort of frivolity and worldliness in the name of "David danced".
If the OP was concerned about abuse, he should have told you grin
His subject was on dancing after the man after God's heart.

The subject is easily a thing of discernment than long epistles cleverly written, yet another reason not to waste my time too much. cheesy cheesy
Nobody wrote copious irrelevancies longer than yourself

If you don't get it, well you don't get it sorry. i believe you got something more important. There is nothing wrong with dancing before God.
Mighty glad your fickle thinly veiled skepticism gave way to reason after all

What is observable is sinners and unserious/carnal christians being careless and flippant and then taking Bible verses like these to justify their carnality, frivolity and lasciviousness.
They remain the problem not 'dancing like David'

You never hear grammar oh. Dancing some worldly "baby your booty" in church is not liberty or dancing like King David. These is what many people do in the name of dancing like David danced.
For the umpteenth time, every aspect of Christianity is susceptible to abuse. Fickle and thinly veiled skepticism is not the way to go

These same people will not give like David gave, or think like he thought, or live like he lived, in courage, faith, trust, penitence, reverence, meditation, patience, kindness etc
Christianity does not start and end with dance nor with any of its aspects and nobody suggested so. If you were any wiser, you'd teach such where over and whenever you run into them. But don't arrest their dancing.

The number one thing you said i should meditate on was that God approved David's dance, i asked that you please show me where specifically. here you were asking questions but in your later posts, you simply made unfounded assertions about me, what happened? You couldn't wait or didn't want to wait for answers? You'd rather believe what you want about me, you see, that's one reason you're allowed to believe what you want about the topic as well. There was no straw man, We are not told that he danced his way to that point/position. We can only assume so. That is a fact.
Such an act that resulted in barrenness befalling his detractor tells it all. Besides, can you show me where God disapproved of the same? David conducts a census, God is wroth he steals a man's wife, God is wroth. He dances and God is wroth? Get serious for once

i don't recall David's wife accusing him of his dancing, it was more about his dressing that she had issues.
You can't recall what you've never read. Why did she have issues with his dress? Was he color clashing?
