oyeludef: d spirit of a believer belongs to d Holy Spirit and as He wills, He can use it. Looking at the cases of Prophets in d old testament, d Spirit of God transported them at His will to show them things. You sighted d case of ezekiel nd severally in d book of ezekiel u see God telling Ezekiel to do something e.g speak to dry bones e.t.c. I don't know of cases in d new testament to support this though. In Ezekiel's case, both the dry bones and the temple were visions. The Temple had an element of time travel as the temple was nonexistent by when he saw the vision. Methinks God revealing to you stuff happening elsewhere as with Elisha and Gehazi is very possible and has scriptural backing, but moving your spirit and making you participate in physical events elsewhere is a whole new ballgame. Philip was not moved spiritually, his whole being was transported to Azotus so this example will not count. Joseph had a dream involving his siblings but the dream was for a yet future time so it had no literalism |

destinedtee: I see two issues here... 1. Seeing ministers as deliverance ministers in dreams. 2. Having a burden to pray for someone and u later discover the person was in trouble at almost the same time the burden of prayer was laid on u.
I want to talk about the second issue first : Sir, I believe its very possible to have a burden to pray for a particular person. There are times you may not even know who or what you are to even pray about (This is when praying in tongues come in). I want to refer you to this book by Kenneth Hagin - TONGUES BEYOND THE UPPER ROOM. There are different experiences shared in that book to buttress this assertion of mine. They are not just saying those things to cajole or motivate us to intercession. It's real sir.
Concerning seeing ministers of God in dreams... Well, I believe that is possible too. It might not necessarily have to do with deliverance anyway. The key thing here sir is what the Lord is trying to pass across to you as dreams cannot be interpreted literally sometimes. About seeing them as deliverance ministers, I don't have any experience along that line but I have seen some of them in my dreams and its a clue for me.
I await others to shed more light on this issue... Thank you for your insight. The question is really whether God can or does use spirits of men literally in the spirit world to say wage war. My humble opinion is no. We have heard of occult and witchcraft where spirits of the wicked leave the bodies and travel afar and affect the living. Do spirits of believers leave their bodies under any circumstances, travel and say wrought deliverance or fight for other believers? Ezekiel was transported in the spirit from Babylon to Israel where he witnessed men he could recognized defiling the temple. Now am talking of spirits not only being transported but being used to wage war and protect other believers |

plappville: You are right, If it was really sin, Paul wouldn't ve mentioned it or he would ve mentioned it in a negetively. Thanks and God bless u. Seldom do scriptures employ analogies of detestable things to communicate a point. In fact I think they don't Look at all Jesus' parables; whenever they were teaching DOs, they used positive activities and whenever they taught DON'Ts they used negative experience. In Malachi 1, YHWH is saying that even earthly kings don't receive such wretched giving. So Paul in my opinion would have greatly erred in employing the then paganism-laced sporting events in his analogies if at the same time he was strongly persuaded it was against God to participate in them. In short, from Paul's usage of the contemporary sports, we learn that at least he was not opposed to them. |
Christianity Etc › Re: What The Bible Say About Sports! by vooks: 5:06am On Dec 18, 2015 |
Image123: Sport is basically entertainment, a pastime, competitive activity. Bible says "Rom 14:20 For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offense. "+Titus 1v15. It depends on your spiritual understanding and situation. Some things are not sin but may be wrong, and may cause others to sin. It is wrong not to keep to time, ti may be a sin or not a sin depending. God sees our hearts and weighs ALL our works. nevertheless, we should not live without concern for others, or satisfy our flesh, or abuse our use of the world. Whatsover we do, we should do all to the glory of God. That something is called sport/entertainment does not mean it's good. Gambling is sport to some, playing lotto is, strip dancing is, swallowing knives, r.omancing snakes, these are all sports. Almost anything can be made a sport. Jdg 16:27 Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there; and there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women, that beheld while Samson made sport.
1Corinth 7:31 And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away. We as believers are not to love the world, or the things that are in the world, just as someone else earlier posted.
Whatever we meet in this world should be held with'loose hands'. i.e We should be willing to drop them anytime, no matter how much we enjoy them. that should be our attitude to the world and its system.
Love God, love your neighbour as yourself. That simplehard command takes out competition, doesn't it. 'Cause if you truly loved your neighbour as yourself you would not want him to lose, or be hit, as you don't want to lose or be hit. So how the heavens do you win in sport? Take it as a sport, not 'do or die', out of my way, all i care is to win attitude, regardless of what happens to other competitors. Now, that's very hard, maybe humanly impossible to achieve. So we might both be involved in something(a 'good sport'), and my heart may be different from your heart. God sees both hearts, we see two sport men. Whatsover we do, we should do all to the glory of God. If there's a way possible for Judo, wrestling, boxing, gambling etc would glorify God. How it can be possible, if it is possible, by all means, then do it. Image123, The bolded is a bit funny. Sports are not the only competitive events you participate in; applying for jobs is another where you work hard and pray to beat other applicants. Another one is promotion. You may not wish your colleagues to lose but by praying you move into a competitive position, you are exactly doing that. Education too, especially in scholarships. You really want to win at others' expense Even in business. If you set up your business and pray for customers to come your way, you really pray they leave their current preferred sellers for you. And isn't courtship itself competitive? When you are attracted to a lady and approach her, are you not wishing or praying she abandons all other interested blokes and accepts you? It's all about demand and supply basics. When supply for anything valuable is low, we compete increasing the demand. Not all get the scarce item. This is an acceptable principle of life In short, I think this is the weakest argument against sports; that there can't be love in competition. Cc plapville |

I wish to invite us to discuss the agency of human spirits in deliverance. Are they a genuine experience or demonic? Without naming names, I have heard of ministries with notoriety of testimonies of many of how their MoG appeared to them in their dream and delivered them from sicknesses, oppression and so forth.
There is a story I have heard of an evangelist/missionary who came to Africa who fell into trouble and was almost dying. In a trance he saw 7 men come and deliver him. When he went back home, his church members told him how one day one of them had a burden for him and he led 6 others into some passionate prayers for him. The missionary enquired when this was and the date was exactly when he was in trouble. Moral of the story I think is to excite us into untercessory and that God can and does use human spirits as tools of deliverance.
Acts 16:9-10 (KJV) And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us. 10 And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them
This verse among others is frequently quoted to support this belief.
There was a time I had a dream about my spiritual authority. In those days I used to compile mp3 music and share them for free.
In the dream I had visited his house and we were listening to one of the MP3 cd in his stereo. He began to take me through the church financial statements and he was sad. There were huge funding deficits. I recall the financials were drafted in pencil. I comforted him and assured him we (with emphasis on myself) would take care of it.
In reality the church has a mortgage loan and the loan has been a thorn in the flesh; it gobbles most of the collections and we have fallen behind severally.
This is the closest I have interacted with a minister in a dream. Am wondering whether God indeed uses men IN DREAMS to procure deliverance. Please note, I don't mean dreams which signify deliverance like for instance dreaming praying for somebody and then waking up to pray, I mean ACTUAL miracles wrought through dreams.
Selah! |
