Politics › Re: Worsening Fuel Scarcity In Nigeria, Buhari Should Resign As Petroleum Minister by VULCAN(m): 9:28pm On Dec 21, 2017 |
It seems you APC people don't have shame. You claim you had to remove subsidy so you almost doubled the fuel price. Something which Abacha didn't even do. Now they have sent you people out to tell us that you need to deregulate again. Its good for Nigerians anyway, the suffering under Buhari will soon enter gear 2. You people removed a weak man and replaced him with a heartless man. Stay tuned for part 2 9jakohai: Oil subsidy must go...
1. There were serious scarcities during GEJ'S time in office...and we did not chase him out then. 2.Reasons why we have fuel queues are simple
First, we import PMS now at 142 . Before it was at 132 naira. And we are still forcing IPMAN to sell at N145. If i was an IPMAN member, i would have hoarded too. Second, oil prices are too low for Nigeria to adequately subsidize fuel AND increase the value of the naira. As a result, naira value is falling, meaning we need more naira to buy fuel, and more naira to get dollars to import. Nigeria needs oil at $120 per barrel to balance the books. Right now it is at $64. (That is why we borrow to finance the budget, but that's another story).
Bubu could end fuel queues IF he removed the 'imaginary' subsidy, and allowed fuel marketers to set their prices.
YES...fuel will sell at 200-300 naira per liter. YES...govt should have built new refineries, and gotten those modular refineries running.
BUT as investment flows in...since under deregulation, people would be allowed to make heavy profit...prices will fall, since those marketers who sell at lower prices than their competitors would make more money.
If BUBU wants to be a leader, not a politician, he should take the HARD decision and allow for deregulation. |

Where is the evidence of your assertion? I too heard this rumour but as it almost absolves the Govt I'm a bit sceptical. NwaAmaikpe:

Buhari may not be the best choice for Minister of Petroluem, but he should not resign.
The real problem are the greedy marketers and petrol station owners who are hoarding products. This hoard translates to artificial scarcity which ultimately translates to an increased profit margin for them.
I expected you to say a functional taskforce should be set up to fine or seal up stations hoarding products.
With that said, Buhari should not resign as Minister of Petroleum, he should resign as President. |

The import of your write up is that you will dump your wife once she hits 40. Since the basis of your attraction to a woman is strictly based on the perkiness of her boobs and the tightness of her vagina Jakumo: The mere thought of anyone dating an "older woman" is perplexing. I'd sooner watch TV or read a good book, than spend the evening dating an "older woman".
Physically fit women between the ages of 18 and 23, and who have never been pregnant, are in the absolute prime of their feminine beauty. When a woman hits that milestone age of 30 years-old, her youthful beauty will begin to fade regardless of how many plastic surgery procedures she suffers in a bid to recapture vanishing attractiveness. Concurrently, systemic levels of the MALE hormone testosterone begin to climb in women age 30 and above, making older women more aggressive, confrontational, cunning, unforgiving, vengeful and deceitful in character, with each passing year.
With the notable exception of men who have been "happily" married for a number of years or decades to the same wife, I personally cannot fathom why any man, outside of marriage, would willingly select older women for companionship, unless of course there are financial reasons why such men feel unqualified to approach women aged 18 to 23, who are so obviously in the full bloom of youthful feminine allure.
A common rationale offered up to explain the motive for dating older women, purports that women make better conversation partners as they age. From my standpoint, however, my interest in any woman begins with how young and sexy she looks. If erudite conversation was my motivation for seeking female company, I would have joined the Rotary Club, which I never did.
The writer of this lament, about missing out on some old woman, is a broke-asz loser, which is why I didn't bother reading more than a couple of lines in his long dissertation describing his Oedipus complex and other mental problems he would have been far better off suffering in silence. |

Then why does she always send money from Dubai? Her customers are all here. Supposedly, she goes to make purchases in Dubai yet the same Dubai is where she sends the money from while her customers are here in Nyja. Common sense tells us that a person travelling to go buy stock does not send large sums home on such trips as the money with them is for purchase of goods and other logistics. The two major defenders of this fraud are obviously staunch APC members who are benefiting from the supernatural levels of fraud currently ongoing. Having visited the "website" (and unlike what was said by a fellow who hasn't even visited - it actually is a website just that it has a link to a purported "portal" its just a basic job which although nice looking has nothing special going for it. Based on what I have seen so far my web master can reproduce this for much less than a million. Whenever I see screenshots of the "portal" I can update my cost estimate as its supposedly behind a login link. Konga, Jumia and Gtb websites are light years more advanced than this job so I expect that those websites will have cost at least $30m dollars each to build. One of the corrupt posters is comparing this dry site to some US websites that receive tens of thousands to millions of hits daily. As an aside anybody who knows anything about mining in the middle belt knows that it is a closed loop of powerful Northerners and traditional rulers that run it below the grid so this "portal" is DOA. Fayemi is just treading water as the status quo in mining remains the same. He is inconsequential in the scheme of things so this is just a contract to share money amongst the loyal boys. cstr1000: Even the pentagon will not spend that whole amount on a single website.
Btw, Nigeria has no patriots on this forum. That much is true. Look at the niwit supporting corruption because it is done by a Yoruba man under a government with a Yoruba VP. I pity the gullible people on this forum that take you people serious . |

God bless you for telling the truth. I have always wondered why there are not more than 3 female Nigerian musicians (amongst all the popular ones) who can play an instrument. Its because its so time consuming and requires so much discipline so they would rather just sing. Try and compare it with the West, there you find young girls of 21 who have been practicing guitar for hours everyday for 10yrs Lawlahdey: Deep. You know what i think about this? Thanks for your detailed response Cargoed: Thanks Vulcan for your findings. There is no specific way you must connect a battery pack eighter Parallel or in Series you want to get more amps or more voltage. odd or even number may just be for convention or convenience.
The secound thing is what is the specification of the device you are connecting it to, if it is an inverter is it 12v or 24v if it is a motor it can ask for any voltage some motors even demand for variable voltages look at solar water pumps.
Now talking about your AC if you check most ACs run of compressors that are powered by their motors.
Okay you requested for 7KVA gen without mentioning how many horsepower your AC unit is. If you have a 1/2HP to 1.5hp it may not be a problem but if your AC is 3hp then maybe you go for a higher KVA in any case tests will be carried out to confirm which is the case so no fear. |

If one is literate but does not read an article before commenting is one really any better than an illiterate? I say this as you have identified that illiteracy is a big problem we have. If you had bothered to read the article he said that Dogara was a follower of his since his university days. Further checks would have confirmed that Dogara has been a politician for only 11 years therefore he donated that salary before he became a politician. So all the whining in your post is misplaced as regards this particular donation The purpose of education is to apply organised thought to information to make sound judgements. omenka: Nonsense. All these are for nothing but to shore up ones political capital.
Nigerian politicians understand how extraordinarily obsessed Nigerians are with religion, so, whenever they wanna face the ballot, all they need to do is deploy this card, be they Christians or Muslims.
I would rather donate such huge amounts of money to an academic institution than to ANY Church, not even that which I attend. The reason behind some of the worst problems we face as a nation is mass illiteracy and our politicians leverage on that whenever they engage the people.
Imagine what this country would have looked like if we had as much schools as the are churches and mosques!
