thelastPope: You are surely are illiterate and a teenager who knows nothing of Nigeria or about world history and politics. Here is a list of corrupt countries that are highly developed

Brazil, Libya, Egypt, Venezuela, Russia, Saudi Arabia. People like you are either terribly ignorant or are just paid to support the likes of Buhari on NL. Corruption has never ever been Nigerian problem because corruption has never stopped countries from developing. What has caused countries to fail is primarily conflicts and divisions based on either tribal, cultural or religious divides. Please gfo and buy a book on world history and educate yourself. The military was the biggest mistake that happened in Nigeria and every military leader who took over sought to become a life president. Buhari was the worst of them. He was not even a leader in the real sense of the world. He was always hiding in the shadows. No wonder he later became a pal to Abacha.

There was nothing wrong with the Shagari government except from the expected teething problems of any democracy. Instead of the military allowing the democracy to grow, they decided, in their selfish quest for glory, to truncate it. It is sad that people like you are still promoting such mindset. It is a sign that we still have a long way to go.
You see yourself now? I asked you to tell me countries with desciplined leadership that have not progressed, you came back with corrupt countries that you think in your dream to be developed. So, Nigeria leadership can be corrupt while still developing the country and bring us to the comity of advanced countries - is that what you are saying?

Again, I pity you.

You listed Egypt and Libya as developed country? How? Egypt that depends on aids from USA is a developed country? A country with high number of unemployed people is a developed country? How developed is Libya? Can you tell me exports from those countries you listed above apart from oil (free gift from God)? With the exception of Brazil.

Man, you dont even seem to understand what we mean by "developed countries".

Sincere 9gerian: Every country is unique. That it worked in Ghana does not mean that the Ghana solution can work in Nigeria.

Before your saviour Buhari and his gang tried the Ghana solution in 1983, Nzeogwu and co had tried it in 1966.

But attempt to apply the Ghana solution in Nigeria FAILED WOEFULLY and WORSENED the problems it attempted to solve.

That is the COMPLEXITY of Nigeria. What worked in Ghana had failed to work in Nigeria.

It is only a FOOL that will insist on repeating a FAILED formula.

In my opinion, the problem of Nigeria will be solved INCREMENTALLY.

It is very obvious to any fair minded persons now that generally most of the political actors (governors, legislators, ministers, etc) that have been in the saddle between 2007 and now are better than those who were in the saddle between 1999 and 2007.

Things will continue to get better incrementally, particularly now that free and fair elections is taking root.

Permit me to end with this famous quote:

"In the name of the Supreme Council of the Revolution of the Nigerian Armed Forces, I declare martial law over the Northern Provinces of Nigeria....The aim ofthe Revolutionary Council is to establish a strong united and prosperous nation, free from corruption and internal strife....You are hereby warned that looting, arson, homosexuality, molestation, embezzlement, bribery or corruption, obstruction of the revolution, sabotage, subversion, false alarms and assistance to foreign invaders, are all offences punishable by death sentence....Our enemies are the political profiteers, the swindlers, the men in high and low places that seek bribes and demand 10 percent; those that seek to keep the country divided permanently so that they can remain in office as ministers or VIPs at least, the tribalists, the nepotists, those that make the country look big for nothing before internationalcircles, those that have corrupted our society"....Major Nzeogwu's Speech announcing Nigeria's first coup (circa noon, January 15, 1966, Radio Kaduna)
Just stop at the first line. The formular for good government doesnt vary from country to country - and it is not complex. Good and corruption free leadership bring about good government and progress. Do this anywhere in the world it will work. It is when greed, selfishness, etc set in that things dont work.

Can you tell me any country in the world with disciplined leaders that are not making tremendous progress? Even in countries without much resources, with good leaders, progress will be made - examples are Mauritius, Bostwana, etc in Africa here.

Ozonna: Dude, why the insults?

We don't need a TB Joshua to tell us who destroyed Nigeria and you know it. Shagari regime didn't do much harm to us, it was the Military that finished us.

Imagine how far we would've gone if we had allowed democracy to continue. We would have gone far as a nation.
A good democractic government, not the corrupt and the ineptitude government of Shagari that saw the likes of Umaru Dikko, Ekueme, etc looting the country dry. That government of Buhari/Idi-agbo would have stopped all forms of corruption and indescipline in the country once and for all.

Shagari didnt much to harm us - I dont understand? It is only ignorance that will make a man think this way. It is not until the country is completely destroyed that people should come to rescue it. Why can't Shagari and Ekuem come out to day to defend their government if they were focused and not hopelessly corrupt?

I have kept asking, should Jerry Rawlings have left the politicians in Ghana who were destroying the country because it was a democratic government?

thelastPope: I can bet my hard earned money you were not even born then!
.
How bad was the economy then? It was N1 to $1. That was really bad, wasn't it? It was N300 for tocket to London and you didn't even need a visa! It was free education at all level and NEPA was great!
.
What was the crisis again? Yeah, I remember. Buhari was the crisis! He was the setback! He is the reason for what Nigeria is today! He solely put us in this mess! He was the stup1d ruler who overthrew a civilian democracy at its early stages and set us back 30 years. The country was not even in a crisis at the time! Anyone who says military overthrow is a solution for an infant democracy trying to find a balance is a foool and a wicked soul! Look what it has cost us now! It is sad and shameful that Buhari is still talking about ruling Nigeria! An insult to every Nigerian!
Would you shut up your ignorant mouth? Nigeria was good then but can you tell me how we got to this point today? Nigeria was good and some people were taking steps to destroy it and you are here saying Nigeria was good then - we should have folded our arms and allowed the politicians to destroy the country? How old were you then?

Gerry Rowlings should have allowed the destructive politicians in Ghana to continue with their destruction of the country as well? Stupid goat.
PoliticsRe: CPC Justifies 1983 Military Coup by Wadeoye(m): 9:44am On Jan 11, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: I dont care about what CPC says about the current political actors but for justifying the sacking of a political dispensation that saw the likes of Sam Mbakwe, Jim Nwobodo, Jakande and other visionary governors developing their respective states speedily, and for justifying an action that lead us into another 16yrs of WASTEFUL military draconian rule, I can confidently call the CPC a DEVILISH political party.
Shut up your evil mouth... Gerry Rawling too shouldn't have overthrown the politicians that were destroying Ghana at the time? Is this the sense you are making? Because the visionary regime of Buhari/Idi-Agbon was not allowed to finish their mission by evil IBB thereby throwing the country back into corrutption, means to your watery brain that they didnt mean well for the country?

I pity your children.

neupert: i agree with you totally it's high time we start seeing things either black or white and stop being tribalistic about any issue rather we should be considered about the authenticity of the story and the outcome.
How do you separate tribalism from ibo/biafran? They are synonimous and can be used interchangeably even in constructing english statements.

Like, John is a tribalist - you can simply just replace the word "tribalist" with "ibo" or "Biafran". This is acceptable in english grammar.

I know that man called Rochas is deceiving people - he has a plan which he has not told his people.

I have not heard of EFCC arresting Finance commissioner in Lagos and ibos want to watch lagos when they should all move back to Imo/home to watch their governor who probably in hiding is busy looting the state.
PoliticsRe: Chinua Achebe: Why Nigerians Hate Igbo by Wadeoye(m): 10:22pm On Jan 10, 2013
Eko Ile: The man said his ibo people are better and superior than the rest of Nigeria. Who makes such ignorant statements? Bigots and hate mongers...

Look all over achebe's ibo land and tell me what's so superior especially in a place where his own people don't even want to call home hence migrating out to other people's land for survival, the same other people achebe labelled less superior. If you are more superior than me , I should be the one at your feet looking for food and not the other way around.

The old man mustabeen smoking some bad stuff when he wrote that book..
Ibos that sell spare parts and carry things for us in markets are better than who? The man must be smoking some cheap stuff.
PoliticsRe: Peter Obi Of Anambra State Is Working, At Least On Roads by Wadeoye(m): 10:18pm On Jan 10, 2013
Onlytruth: It is good that when our leaders are working, we should say so and encourage them. I saw first hand that Anambra state roads are now mostly tarred. It was not like that in the last few years.
Admitted they are not marked, but they are tarred. Speaking of marking, I wonder how expensive it is to mark roads!! undecided
Nevertheless, I saw smooth roads running round remote parts of Anambra state. I can boldly state that by the time he leaves office next year, he will be leaving behind a state with high accessibility. I can now drive round Anambra state without worrying much about bad roads. The most notable bad roads in Anambra now are the federal roads -Onitsha/Enugu, and Oba/Okigwe.

Maybe our next governor will only be marking roads! lol grin

Kudos Obi!
Can we some pictures of roads, hospitals and schools in Anambra?

And the South East christianitians are what? Should I call it an irony that most Igbo are Christians and most of them are criminals at the same time - they can do anything no matter how terrible for money. What do you learn from your religion man Igbo Christian?

You want to show religious tolerance to people who have no iota of tolerance in them. Just watch how they will delete this post or even ban me because its posted in their section
Brainless indeed... Fashola breaking down mosques for fear of violence? Brainless Igbo...

Do you ever ask yourself the population of Muslims in south west? If Muslims are violent, do you think we will allow those business centers called churches to be built on our streets left and right - and disturbing the peace of residential neighbours.
IslamRe: Obasanjo Builds N350M Mosque And Arabic School In Abeokuta by Wadeoye(m): 8:57pm On Nov 24, 2012
This is how they mess up our political scene with religion. Obj building mosque and Arabic school - was this in the original plan of the university or an after thought? Religion now seems to be the only weapon in the hand of PDP to control people. We know what is going on... GEJ has aligned himself with CAN and OBJ being lately an enemy of GEJ is aligning with North who are mostly Muslims. Interesting scenario playing out... I see no end to Boko Haram because the major players are still fuming at each others. Anyway, the Muslims in the west are wiser and despite being the majority here, we won't allow politics to be mixed with religion.
PoliticsRe: Jail Is Too Good For Nigerian Pastors by Wadeoye(m): 8:22pm On Nov 22, 2012
nokingasgod: I'm afraid your argument is so daft-ic, exposing your ignorance. You can be a professor or top class professional and still be gullible as you may be as intelligent as anything yet, your intellect may be found wanting. Secondly, i cant remember any of the churches did ''good deeds and charitable works'' that impacted the public positively, rather, all we've been hearing and seeing is the insatiable penchant for accumulation of wealth by the church founders/owners so much so that they compete favorably with their politician brothers and sisters in terms of misappropriation of commonwealths.

I can help but laugh to read that ''Lagos/Ibadan expressway would have remained a forest/den of armed robbers if the churches had not taken the initiatives to open up the area!'' Its only a blockhead that can make such spurious assertion. Despite the chaos and insanity brought to the Ibadan expressway by the churches, to you, that is sign of development afterall, the untold hardship experienced by motorists on that road and caused by the churches is a welcome development in the sight of your god. Nothing could be more idiotic!
You can see how these empty heads think. I dont bother to engage them in intellectual discussions again because I know the skull is empty. And I keep asking, does christianity remove followers brain and forget to put something back there?

Have you forgotten that Buhari's vice presidential candidate in last year elections is a christian pastor?

The only good shining idea during Abacha was PTF - one of the reasons I am always on the side of Buhari.

GenBuhari, stop bringing up Abacha issue when it comes to Buhari - they are two different characters. Yes, he gave Buhari free hand to operate PTF but Buhari didnt trust him before joining his government - the reason Buhari gave him conditions for the appointment. I know Buhari might have seen a different Abacha after joining the government but Nigerians didnt see that - and how will they see it with the assasination of Kudirat, 1million man-match for his life presidency ambition. Abacha and probably the sycophants around him created the bad image that still persist in the mind of people till today.
