ngegy:you can transfer any amount you want. exceeding the $10k daily free limit only means the bank will collect more information about you and your reason for doing the transfer for documentation and reporting if CBN decides to look into their books but they cant prevent you from doing your transfer |
babaoo:i havent done a FX transfer with GTB in the last 2 yrs but i do know the charge used to be 1% subject to a minimum of $10 plus 1000naira and vat plus tax and vat on tax maybe you should call customer service to ask |
Kennyblues:so now that intercontinental bank is now owned by Access? what happens to you guys? |
dont think the cost will be much different from what obtains anywhere else in nigeria, the only difference will be the cost of the apartment |
the bulk of my online purchase is actually through amazon. and i buy directly from amazon why pay someone who will buy from amazon when i can buy from amazon myself? |
Flaix:be wise which advise you take, not all advise no matter how well intentioned is worth paying attention to if i was in your shoes, i'll pray but i wont go to any pastor or change church to seek spiritual help. like someone mentioned, what is happening to you is not new under the sun, as a matter of fact, there's no affliction that is peculiar, they are all common among men i agree with your observation that her statements and texts will sow seeds in the minds of your new family about you. the pitfall is that some things that would have been overlooked in the past will now be read differently by your new family based on some of the things your mother has sowed in their minds. this is another reason for you to pray and keep praying i hope your husband is wise enough to know that if you didnt sleep around and he met you a virgin, now that you have so much to loose, you have no reason to be unfaithful to him back to point number 2 above, so keep praying and seeking God's divine intervention even if you change your number, will your MIL and husband change their numbers? you can ignore her calls and sms but since she knows how to copy your MIL and husband in her text messages to you, if you change your number you wont know what damaging info she is sending out so you might want to keep your 'enemy close' by keeping your number pls also realise that you dont owe her anything, the fact that she's your biological mother doesnt mean you owe her anything. so dont let her blackmail you with that. if she falls into problems and requires help that she cannot get from her current family, help out and leave it at that |
Kcwarren:MTN has locked your device to their network, you need to demand they release your BB PIN from their network so you can move away, if they refuse, threaten them with lawsuit, you paid full retail value for the device so they have no right to lock your pin to their network and refuse to release it on demand |
donaemeka:i think the glo complete package is a mix of the other bb social packages. the social packages do not allow you to download, so when you browse using your bb internet app, it counts as download and you are charged. same thing happens when you go to appworld and try to instal apps the first social package allows you to chat and view your mails on the go while blocking social networking apps the second package doesnt allow email but lets your social networking apps (facebook, twitter) to work as well as your IM apps the complete package allows social networking, IM and 1 email to work i dont think all that gist about enabling or disabling APN does anything for you |
Pukkah:the major problem i see when this kicks off is the amount of unnecessary stress people will be put through and it will only result in more people keeping their money outside the banking system rather than taking it to the banking system there is still a high level of unreliability in e-banking in nigeria (online transfers and POS). the amount of paperwork to open an account is at best ridiculous. banks are always looking for all manners of excuse to charge people who hold account with them |
the iPhone 4S has now been released and i can assure you iPhone5 is at least 1yr away |
Tunee:BIS doesnt give unlimited data although the data cap is quite good for the average joe, no u cant use BIS for non BB |
i'm sure these tariffs are for the social plans tunde300us:i feel you.stopped using airtel BIS since april 2010, not worth it in my opinion. |
i believe there is a code for stopping the service alternatively, you can switch to another plan, it will stop the old one, i hope you are on PAYG BIS? if you are switching networks, just remove the sim |
kinglee007:i'll advise you nt to waste your time with the wire connection advise, there is a gsm signal booster device i have heard of, what it does is to boost weak gsm signals over a small area and that should make it possible for your BB to pick up more bars and hopefully improve your browsing experience another thing you need to understand is, 3G signal might be weak but 2G (EDGE) could be strong in a particular area so if you go into your mobile network setting and drop your preference from 3G to 2G, you might enjoy a massive signal boost |
i doubt if thats what the ad means, unless you're saying they saw into the future and created the ad just as the BIS outage happened |
i think it should be up to 1million across the 4 GSM providers in naija |
nope i think it'd be a dumb idea ![]() |
now past tense |
t-luv:the first thing you have to note about the OS6 and above is that they take up much of the RAM of any BB device with 256MB and below and you will need to use a seriously shrinked version. if you are not tech savvy, i will advise you back up, wipe and reinstall OS5 to continue enjoying a smooth bb experience another option is to just upgrade your bb and sell the one you have after wiping ![]() |
linktel:you dont need any configuration to watch youtube, all you need is a strong 3G signal and you know youre getting full BIS coverage when you see 3G+bb icon displayed on ur BB, just so you know, the bb icon displayed means your BIS is up and running and is being provided by your 3G network, once you have a strong signal as described above, just go to youtube and grab a video to play |
well, depends on where you are, glo BISMONTH has bumped data cap to 3GB, i believe all the other networks are still limited to 1.5GB but if you are not a heavy data user, then it doesnt matter to you you need to be sure you see 3G+BB icon showing on your bb regularly to confirm the signal around you is very strong and you're getting the best value for your money. another way to confirm how strong your signal is to try and play a video off youtube, if it plays without buffering excessively, then your signal is strong my advise will be for you to do the 1-day BIS to verify the above before jumping in |
is the BIS back, doesnt look like it on glo can anybody confirm if the bb messenger has worked for them today? |
@OP, what is good for the goose, so if you have a female best friend, she can also get a male bestfriend |
werepeLeri:thank you. |
has anybody noticed a faster blackberry data regime since the launch of this 3.75G especially for BB users in lagos or PH |
ikhideman:its ok to not be sentimental, if the contract had an expiry and the two companies decide to not renew, they have a right to do so, that said, if you got the message that was going round, new terms were offered which is much less than the current terms and the two companies are planning to bring in indians to fill slots that will be left by nigerians who cannot take on the new terms, that is where i have a problem the cost of bringing in indians can never be less than the cost of maintaining the contract at current terms and allowing that type of situation erodes our sovereignity, if the two companies believe they can provide the service cheaper in india, they can move the call center to india and provide the service from there but to establish a call center in nigeria and fill it up with indians is not cool if that claim is correct |
Guys, he is the president so you dont expect him to personally post 100% of the time, i believe he has someone who manages that profile for him but he is in the know what goes in there. dont forget he had a youth forum in lag just before the campaign where his communication minister made the blunder of saying he brought facebook to nigeria so that profile is not fraud |
@OP, i think what you should do is a mix of some of the advise you have been given here. first let the would-be tenant know he has been duped because you have not received a rent and as such he cannot move into your house by having the so called agent arrested, you have confirmed point number one above to the would be tenant and even helped him start the process of recovering his money if the so called agent now fulfills his promise and pays you the rent money he received from the tenant, then by all means let the tenant use the apartment but going to court will not earn you anything, the lawyer will collect his fees upfront (another loss to your pocket) and your case will be in court for donkey years with nothing to show for it. |
chyket:so why didnt you just meet the manufacturer and get the letter? |
the major problem is a lack of transparency and that is what has been encouraging corruption in the LASTMA, those guys despite doing a good job of managing traffic in lagos are feeding fat on the ignorance of the public. i think a way out for lagos state govt is to harmonize with existing traffic fines and make that information very public so that there will be no debate when a LASTMA official tells you the offence, you already know what the fine is and are clear you are not being cheated like a poster said, an offence that carries a 3000 naira fine will be called 50000 and you will be encouraged to settle with 20000, by the time you negotiate to 10000naira, you have still lost money and they are smiling to themselves |
i believe the people who are shouting and making noise about this law are mostly real estate agents who have been driving the real estate market into chaos prior to now and getting the most money into their pockets now that the govt is bringing sanity, they are making noise, i hope the lagos state govt stays determined and makes enforcement possible by properly manning and expediting cases that will come initially, hopefully after a year or two tenants and landlords will see the gains and push the agents out of the way |
