Intersex is completely different from gay and lesbian especially because gays and lesbians are ridiculously messed up state of mind which is tantamount to madness, disorientation or confusion. That can also be addressed if the person is willing to be reasonable and guided.

Intersex or hermaphroditism are rare occurrence; it is a situation whereby a baby is born with unnatural features. It is a result of complications during the formation period, almost similar to deformity.

An intersex despite having features and organs of a particular sex also has some features or organ like the other sex. However, something is certain - there is always a predominant sex in every case of intersex.

It is important for the medical practicioners to determine the predominant sex of the intersex and engage some surgical procedure to correct the anomaly by disabling the other features or organ. For instance, if the intersex has all and functional female organs, it is wise to disable and detach the external features of scrotum and or penis with the approval and understanding of the parents and or guardian.

The parents and guardian also have to train and orientate the child as the sex that has been chosen. That is her sex and it will forever be provided the child is brought up that way.

This move is wrong. Even if the HRM want to be diplomatic with the execution of the directive, the steps to take is:

Recommend his compulsory retirement to the management of the organization. Justify your recommendations with international best practices and labor laws.

If management insist on the staff being sacked unjustly despite your recommendations. Proceed to discuss voluntary retirement notice to be tendered by the staff. I mean that the HRM official should engage the old staff in a conversation, of the record; off phone; without any recording and privately, to advise the old staff to tender a notice of voluntary retirement . If I am the HRM officer, once the old staff tenders the notice of voluntary retirement maybe on health grounds, I will accept it on behalf of the organization and present it to the management with a recommendation that the staff should be allowed to stay off work with immediate effect rather than wait for the 1 month or so notice period.

It is still a win-win situation for both management and the old staff; it also helps the HRM to uphold international best practice. Ultimately, this may be a better way to prevent litigation against the management because if the old staff is sacked unjustly, he may engage his lawyers and proceed to court.
