huntax: Wait, God created him and begot him? Lol really? To beget is to produce, i.e, to produce a child. More like, to reproduce. Can you create a toy and beget that toy? Let's be reasonable here. The truth is right before us, but we choose to believe what the white man taught us to believe. Christmas is a lie, but it is the most celebrated holiday in the world. It's also the most sacred. But it's a lie. The real date Jesus was born has been lost in history and man rewrote history to suit himself and the world. Christmas is just a week before the new year. What an extended end of the year holiday. Please check carefully the meaning of begot in internet or dictionary |

huntax: That is where your problem lies. God sent His begotten son to die for us. But you all worship this son more that the father so much that you even call him God himself. But don't mistake my indulgence and think that I believe God actually "begot" anyone. A supreme being like God is to be worshipped always. He doesn't beget, he only creates. He creates so as to be worshipped. That includes every bird in the air, every creeping creature, even the mountains and the seas. If he has a son, then he should logically have a wife. It is basically pointless for him to "beget" a child out of thing air (except he created him) and you can't tell me God, the Supreme being, has been existing the exact same time Jesus has been existing (except, of course again, He created him). A lot of Christians use the verse (God created the word, and the word was God...) as a reference to Jesus and as a valid way of calling him God. I believe this verse is greatly flawed and that's the new testament isn't widely accepted as being of God. God created Jesus and begot him, he send him down to teach and correct the misconception of the law, not just to die if not he would have died soon after birth. |

huntax: Let's not mock God here. There are things God wouldn't bring Himself down to do. Things like becoming the same human He once regretted creating. Humans are flawed from the day of birth. We are sinners. Why would God associate Himself with sin? We all know there is nothing God can't do, but their are equally some things He won't do. Just like you imagining if He could forgive the devil. God send his begotten son Jesus down he did not come down. Many wrong interpretation of the Bible has mislead many |

zed7: Genesis 11:4 to 7. This chapters talk about God not being pleased with the sons of men for wanting to build a tower that would get to heaven. Hence, He caused them to have different languages and casued confusion in their midst. How realistic is it to build a tower to heaven? Is heaven up? Could the tower be as high as the Burj Khalifa? Could the tower go as high as space ships which shoots up far into the skies? Don't the world have a common language now? Has anyone seen heaven today with all the latest technology available?
As a Christian, we sometimes wonder about certain passages in the bible.
So many questions to ponder on. The reason for this thread is to get explanations from bible 'scholars'. The floor is open. The sky was generally translated as heaven by many translators of the Bible from the original manuscript. God want to scatter them through out the land because at that time the population of man is still very few |

huntax: The only foolish one here is you. God is there on his own, so pure and supreme. Then you go and liken him to a man, in flesh and blood. No demon in the world would ever say what I'm saying right now. God alone is to be worshipped. Not Jesus, not Moses, not Elijah, not Muhammed. God didn't come down, born by a woman, to die for the same mankind He created. You have been sold a lie, or rather, the bible has been misinterpreted. Nothing would make u sit back and think this through, so I don't expect you not to curse at me. Have at it, it won't pass your doorstep. All humans are flawed, God is so pure to ever become one. Think about it. The God you are talking about is the ideal God from human thinking the real God has a way of doing things |

hahn: I do not understand what you mean by the emboldened but this is how I see it. No one knows for sure how life came about. It could have been by someone or something.
For the "someone" there have been thousands of possible creators. Whichever creator you believe in is just one of them and none of the thousands have been able to prove that their god is the real creator. The same belief or faith you apply to your religion that makes it seem real is also applied to other religion. So far we can put all these gods under the category of guess work. No actual research or evidence has been put forward to prove that your god or any other god is real for that matter
On the other hand we have science that applies research, evidence and the scientific procedure to come to it's conclusion.
Even though I am not a scientist I think it is best to keep an open mind. Religion might be right, science might be right
Personally, I do not care how the earth started. What is the benefit of this knowledge? How has it helped to improve mankind so far? If god(any of the 4,200 of them) exist, what are it's benefits? Science has added the worst confusion to the origin of the universe. The evolution theory they postulated is total rubbish, they said a dot exploded and expanded to give rise to the universe and life spring up just from nothing. What I mean by the bolded is that if it happened billions of years ago we will still continue to witness it now. Until now the evolution theory has no single evidence but science still went further to pass it at law. You need to know where you are coming from so you can know where you are going, it is very important to know how and why you are here cause it will give you understanding of where you are going and why everything is like this. Don't be confused we have only one God the rest are false |

afroniger: Err.. Did you read my comment at all? I never said there's no god(s), nor did I even mention anything about evolution; therein lies the problem with many of people, you baselessly judge others without properly comprehending their position. I am NOT an atheist but rather hold views more akin to those of deists (look up the meaning if you don't already know it) and actually have a christian background. I just personally don't accept the bible's version/explanation and religious dictates because most of those stories can't be proved -- and this is based on independent research. You are free to accept them on 'faith', but that doesn't make you any different nor better than a muslim, buddhist, or other similar religionists who similarly derive their religious beliefs from conflicting ancient texts. The problem starts when you lots begin to form moral superiority over other religions/schools of thought or try to impose your beliefs on others when in fact you are no more than a bunch of intolerant brainwashed sheeples. To each his own abeg. Brainwashed? What are you referring to? if I believe the Bible story I am brainwashed, if you don't you are wise. Look the truth lies in the spiritual part of life where everyone knows is rank |

I live every moment fully because I know how lucky I am to be here You will agree with me that whosoever believe the evolution theory is dull. The evolution theory says a dot expanded to form the universe and living things sprung up spontaneously from non living things, this idea has no base in our everyday life, making it clear there is a creator. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Is It Possible To Have A Perfect Life? by walls01: 8:57pm On May 14, 2017 |
afroniger: I am not a Christian, and last time I checked that isn't a crime, and I am certainly not the only one that falls in that category. I only believe what I can prove. I have proved to my satisfaction that man was most likely created by some being somewhere at some point, could be a a he or she, I don't know, these creator(s) could be more than one, I don't know. But one thing is clear, and that is that man is a free moral agent. His creators have hidden themselves from man for reasons best known to them (else we would not have had to depend on countless religious texts from countless religious men from different religions trying to tell us their own version of who our creator is, if he wants to really show himself he wouldn't need confused men writing confusing texts to do so), and they have man to his own devices. On top of that man has been equipped with all he needs to make his own decisions in life. Kapish!
Cc: walls01 You need to ask your self the right questions, why all this religion. It is clear that no matter how you reason it life cannot start with a dot as the evolution theory puts it, or a non living thing giving rise to a living thing, having make this points clear there is a God, why not do research to know what is really happening in the world and why so many religions |

No, Christianity only allows for holy sex. God will definitely send you to hell if you take your wife from behind or allow her to ride you from the top. Sex must be holy...the woman lies down, the man puts it in, pump till he comes and that's all. Remember nothing like 'ohhh don't stop, faster, please faster' from the woman. This will upset God and the next thing, u will find yourself in hell.

They conveniently ignore the genre that the bible fits into perfectly that sits between the two: historical fiction.
Spiderman is set in New York, which is a real place, and the comics often get details of the place right, that doesn't mean Spiderman is real, it just means the writers and artists have been to New York.
And that isn't even getting into when the Bible gets its geography and history wrong like the Sea of Galilee which doesn't exist outside three of the gospels? It was never called that in ancient times. You have valid points in your arguments, but you will agree with me that when we write history from the present they are bound to be mistakes, even historians knows this, but this mistakes cannot be used to totally discredit the fact |
