oga.it seems you really had a bad experience on most stocks at NSE in the past.
Has the auditors of oando said any good thing about the company yet people are making cool money from the stock.
Whether you believe or not,Japaul will give people cool cash despite any negative news.I am here to make my own cash and put speed on my feet.Na me go come run the company for them?Na those milo people go carry the kaya for head.
Bad experience? Not quite. Started my working life as an external auditor with Price Waterhouse (PW). So I know red flags. I also learn how to review company strategy and see how it gives them a competitive edge. As much as possible, i read annual reports (now listen to conference calls).

I see buying shares as OWNERSHIP of a company. There are some companies I don't want to associate with. It does not matter how much money people are making there, if it does not meet my investment philosophy I stay away.

People made a lot of money from Forum, Umana Umana, NOSPETCO, MMM etc! You will never find me near them.

There are plenty avenues to make money but not all of them fits my investment philosophy.

NOTE: I don't make a BUY or SELL recommendation. I provide some insight and allow you to make your call. There are many reasons why people may decide to BUY or SELL so I don't interfere with their decision.

All the best as you make MONEY with JAPAUL

I doubt this. I listened to the call Conference of both banks after the release of their Q4. You cannot but be impressed by the way Gtbank clearly outlined their direction for 2018.
God bless you richly smiley

Even the response to the question about succession was classic.

I am expecting a better Q1 2018 report from Japaul oil.If the result will be poor, the loss will reduce drastically.I remember how dangote flour recovery started. The journey to posting results and PAT in billions has started.pls no quote me wrongly o.I am not in any way monkey hunting.Just saying what I discovered after careful examinations.
Are you comparing Ja Paul with DFhuh Don't think DF had NEGATIVE retained earnings. Making a loss and having negative retained earnings are not the same thing ooo. To make matters worse, AUDITORS are saying that they are not sure that JaPaul will continue to exist as a company! That is the meaning of uncertainty around going concern.

NB: One can still make 1000% ooo.

Present Sir.

Was disappointed at the lack of dividend as promised by the directors but I still have belief in the stock. I own substantial shares and will still be buying more given their prospect, 2017 financial performance and clarity on the treatment of the debt note.

Part of the terms of the debt note bought by Abraaj was that interest on the Debt note will be equivalent to the dividend paid to ordinary share holders which I guess is the reason dividends were skipped. The company must have been conserving cash to retire the debt note.
Welcome sir but not sure it was this username though.

They are cowboys. They will not pay Abraaj dividend and they are trying to block them from converting to shares. Guess the reconstruction was to reduce the number of shares that would have accrued to Abraaj. Some high level boardroom manouvering ongoing.

I believe in the company potentials but doubt the sincerity of the management.

The bitter truith is oando will touch #50.It will not move on a straight line.If you have the stock, you can sell if in need of money but if not in need of money, keep it and allow it go through fluctuations,it will certainly get to its destination.

Japaul oil on the other hand is receiving investors patronage even after a poor audited result.what does it mean to a smart trader?I dont invest in a stock without careful examination.what i dont have is patience.Japaul will trade above #2 in due TIME.
Possibly but based on WHAT? Please don't say Oil Price. OandO usually hedge their crude oil price.

You should remember when people buy PP of dead companies at N2.00 with the promise of a stock split before listing. Listing will now be done at N5.00 and the share will gain 5% everyday for like 2 weeks. Unfortunately, the 'masses' will not have the certificate so they cannot even sell. By the time they are credited, the stock will be on permanent offer. One of the reasons for having 'market makers'.

Tuition fee will be collected this year big time!

If this interview is TRUE, seems there will be no conversion of the Aureous loan to shares. Seems they will raise bonds to refinance the loan.

Nothing on the AGM notice gave any impression of NEW equity capital raising though.

Fingers crossed.

According to the auditor, "material uncertainty exists that may cast significant doubt on the Groups ability to continue as a going concern"

Seems PKF no dey waster time to 'qualify' accounts oo. Almost all the companies they audited received some qualification. tongue

I just love NSE. One can even make money from Onwuka Hi Tech. Not sure why NSE delisted such companies.

Could this be what you are talking about?

About N2.3 billion to be converted to equity ?
If we convert that at today closing price of N1.33, we will get about 1.7billion.
For a stock with an OS of about 1.6billion, we are looking at a possibility of about 100% dilution.

At CC, what is your take on this ?
Yes it is. It is not new though. They've always disclosed it.

Good morning to all brethren on this forum. My edividend mandate form was recently approved by GTL-Registrars, but I was told they can't pay me my ex dividend because I don't have a domicilary account? Pls is there anyone that has encountered such.
You need to provide more information.

Which company dividend? Which financial year end?

ETI use to pay dividend in dollars until CBN put a stop to it. Since then all dividends are paid in Naira except you can show a Capital Importation Certificate as evidence that you brought in forex into the country to buy the shares. You can however get then Naira equivalent of your dividend paid into your account.

SEPLAT was another company that started with dollar dividend but was also stopped by CBN.

The idea is enter at an entry price where the dividend is not priced in. That way the speculator can make a quick 10% if he is lucky. Never a guarantee
Meaning you are BUYING before the dividend announcement. So you have no clue that there will even be a dividend at all. There may not even be a rally at all.

What he's saying is that when stock A declares dividend, you buy chop dividend, sell then move on to stock B which has declared another dividend, chop, sell etc and at the end you still have your starting capital or more

It worked to some extent around 2013/14 but now stock declare dividend, na reverse gear grin
BUT stocks are always adjusted for dividend!

Dunlop started as a good investment. It was affected by the change in government policy. At that point any investor should have re evaluated the investment position. That was a fundamental change in the underlying assumptions.

After making loss for 3 years, ABC turned profit in 2017. Did they do anything differently? Is it sustainable? People will want to understand how they turned the corner and whether this is a ONE off.

cileasing post reconstruction @ today price will be 5.4 with 400m outstanding, the current PAT is N1.1b

cp fairprice based on audit report is even above post reconstruction price

cileasing is selling seriously @ discount

grin grin
Reconstruction is not the main issue.

They have convertible notes issued that will be converted to equity. Do you know what the outstanding shares will be after the conversion? That to me is the major issue.
